Catered a friday night dinner for 25, shabbat lunch for 30. And sunday party for 50. Lori was amazing in helping me think through menus and logistics. Martha, our waitstaff for Friday night and Sunday, was a true professional. She set everything up so well, it all went so smoothly on Friday. When she and Alexandro returned Sunday, I invited her to take charge, and she — they — did a marvelous and artistic job. With great flow of the buffet, and a constant eye on levels. Clean up was 100%, and while put in charge, Martha came to me fir judgment calls as needed. I felt so well supported. She even brought the leftovers to a shelter for me afterwards. Friday night was rotisserie chicken, orzo, green beans, and…, I can’t remember what else. Huge tray if pareve cookies that were good. Delicious! Every bit of it. My family will he switching from another place to Aroma for Passover chickens. Saturday lunch included what several people called the best egg salad they’d ever eaten, a vegetarian chopped liver (no nuts) cuke, Israeli and beet salads. Scrumptious. And oh, their challah rolls were also great tasting. Sunday was Italian dairy: eggplant parm, veggie lasagna. Salad, olive tray, heart of palm salad, and a spinach souffle to die for. Also julienned veg, and garlic rolls. All delicious. Some felt the veg may have had too much salt, but nothing else, and this was a picky crowd. I can’t thank them all enough. Deliveries were exactly on time. Staff did not watch the clock. Coordinator stayed as in touch as I needed. Humane, pleasant, and real ly y made the party a success.

Dining In Inc – Menu with Prices – 1645 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd, Charleston

It is important to have kosher options whether you live in Charleston or are just visiting. Marcie works hard to provide great kosher food whether for a pop up cafe, hosting a party, or to make your holiday easier. Holiday menus come out before each holiday so that you can order all or even just part of your holiday meal. Holiday and challah orders must be in by Tuesdays at 5pm. Pick-up is on Thursdays from 1pm – 6pm & Friday from 8am – 4pm. Traditional Jewish food made locally. Visiting from out of town? Kosher meals can be delivered to your hotel. My favorite is the cinnamon challah special. Regular challah available weekly. Challah comes in small, large, or dinner rolls. Order ahead, or stop by and hope there is a challah left!

European Bakery & Pastry – Menu with Prices – 29 Millbury St, Worcester

A Polish/Jewish bakery, really good challah bread! But not every type of bread (my favorite being the raisin challah) is baked every day, though usually friday/saturday is a good bet. I’m neither Polish nor Jewish myself so I can’t speak of “authenticity”, but I do like my bread. They also make interesting eclairs–“interesting”, I mean I really like them, not for the pate a choux part (eh), but for the mystifying cream filling. It’s not pastry cream, not whipped cream, definitely not French… I also like the huge fudgy brownies. The cookies, cheesecake and apple dessert I find unremarkable, but maybe because I’m looking for something different. I go here for the challah bread, so do Polish/Jewish locals, and you should too.

Yellowfinn Grill & Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 1166 E 2100 S, Salt Lake City

I work in the service industry as a server and bartender so I understand how crazy working in a restaurant can be. I won?t be coming back to this establishment anytime soon. My boyfriend and I came in on a Sunday night and after ordering our 4 rolls, we waited 35 minutes for the first roll. It was good sushi but other tables were being serviced before our two top. It took another 10 minutes for us to see the second roll. Maybe don?t come in on a Sunday night? The sushi chefs were more interested in telling their life stories to the patrons at the sushi bar rather than making the sushi rolls. The server also defined the term ?bare minimum? in my mind. Never told us what was going on or explained why the wait was so long. We came in at 5pm on a Sunday night. The sushi was delicious, but served one roll at a time and in 5+ minute intervals.

Zukerino Pastry Shop Menu with Prices 2230 Cotillion Dr, Atlanta

This was a great find! A friend of mine found this place and recommended it to me. It is in a strange location tucked away beside a convenient store and gas station. But, it is definitely worth it. My friend and I were planning on going to a toga party and were in charge of the dessert, so this place was just what we needed. We went in about a week before the party trying to get ideas. The associate was super nice and helpful and let us sample many of the items. I ended up ordering a 36 piece tray consisting of shortbread, melamakarona, baklava and a few other savory items. My friend ordered the spanakopita. We placed our orders to be picked up the following Saturday before the party. They offered to let us pay the day we picked it up, or when we ordered. On the following Saturday, I called as soon as they opened to see if the orders were ready and they were. So, we went and picked up our orders, which were exactly right. They also gave us a few treats while we were there picking up our orders, which was so sweet. At the party, both dishes were smashing successes and they ate every last bite. This place is so great on every level and great for people of all ages. The prices are very reasonable and they have many offerings.

Meg’s Daily Grind – Menu with Prices – 3879 N Perryville Rd, Rockford

Good smooth coffee. orders mostly lattes and cappuccinos. Made as requested. Has to send one back as it wasnâ??t hot, just warm. No apology. Staff not the friendliest. Not mean or rude, just indifferent. Went here on Friday/Saturday and Sunday ordering about 7 drinks between the three days. They acted a little annoyed actually on Sunday when we asked if they had a croissant and for an all foam cappuccino. Felt Like I should not have asked or ordered. But again, not mean, just more of the looks they were giving each other and hesitation when I repeated my order. Ok inside. Sitting area needed a little attention on Friday.Only a $1 off when we fill up a card with over 10 drinks? Kinda cheap incentive card. Not worth the effort nor does it make you feel like a valued repeat customer. We will be back next weekend, though, as closest coffee shop to our hotel and again, no one was mean and coffee was decent.

Cajun Seafood & Wings – Menu with Prices – 4221 Pleasant Valley Rd suite121&122, Virginia Beach

So it was one of those Friday dinner take out for my family and we were deciding either bbq or seafood and so we gave this place a try. The title alone got our attention! We love the taste of Cajun, we love Seafood, and wings, so why not get it all right? From calling twice since I had to change the flavor, it was no problem at all. First I asked for Cajun flavor with butter and garlic, not realizing the spice level, so I called the 2nd time. I asked the spice level of their Cajun which is medium hot, so I told the guy my concern and so he suggested Old Bay with butter and garlic and will add the Cajun sauce on the side (no extra charge). Our order was ready by the time we got there even though there were either customers seated, waiting for order, and phone orders. The guy at the front was doing it all which he made it look easy and we didn’t wait too long! Anyhow, from the pictures on yelp, I did not think the trays were the size of a party tray (I thought it was half that size.)The price was great and the portion was more than enough. We actually have left overs for tomorrow! We ordered the combo 1-crab legs and shrimp and combo 2-crab legs and mussels, flavor: both Old Bay with side of Cajun sauce (no extra charge). Combo trays comes with corn, broccoli, sausage, and potatoes (all tasted fresh). We also ordered a side of 10 piece chicken honey sriracha flavor, which was perfectly mixed well! My taste buds was bursting with all that sweet and a hint of spice flavors! I wanted more! The food exceeded our expectations and bravo to the guy at the front managing it all! My only recommendation is to have an extra body close by just in case and maybe play some music? We got our Cajun, Old Bay, seafood, and chicken fix for the evening! Also, they gave us a free cole slaw which my husband devoured instantly! They have a variety of selection from side orders, platter/combos, steam, boiled, or fried which other restaurants lacks! That’s a leg up for Cajun Seafood and wings! Now, I have a seafood place to order from in case I need a seafood party tray! You can dine in as well, but for us we decided to order out! I will definitely be a regular though when I am not in a cooking mode! So my question for you is, would like your steamed/boiled seafood order served in a tray or in a bag? (a tray of course!) Check them out! You will not be disappointed! Also, it’s in the same shopping center as Tung Hoi and Saigon! How great to have all these delicious place in close proximity! Love it!

Maglio Sausage Co – Menu with Prices – 3632 S 3rd St, Philadelphia

We used Mary’s Catering at the Market at Maglio’s for a family reunion last weekend. Everything was amazing! We worked with Dom to place the order a few months ago. He was very helpful and provided suggestions to complete our menu. We had a few people who have Celiac Disease and need to eat gluten free. One of the things we wanted to order was a cheesesteak tray. Dom suggested to have the steak and cheeses separate from the rolls. This was a great idea, and very accommodating to those with allergies! That day, they arrived promptly at 11am (as promised) and helped with set up. They included everything, from chafing trays/stands and sternos, to silverware, plates and condiments; we didn’t have to run out for anything! Our family party was an all day/night thing, so we needed both lunch and dinner provided. They brought everything that morning, but had it separated for each meal, which worked out perfectly. All we had to do was briefly heat up the dinner trays before adding them to the chafing stands. Many of our guests were from out of town, but grew up in this area. They were thrilled to be enjoying foods they remember but can’t get where they live, like scrapple, cheesesteaks and soft pretzels. It couldn’t have worked out better! We didn’t have to worry about much in regards to the food, and it let us enjoy time with family that we don’t see very often!

MISOYA SUSHI – Menu with Prices – 8893 W Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove

(3.5/5) Figured it’s time I update my review since I think my last one here was from 2012! I felt that a lot has changed and I have honestly not been back since. Location/Parking: Located in the H Mart plaza right beside Kaju Tofu! They share the same parking lot with H Mart. Parking isn’t too difficult to find, but you might have to park a little far on the weekends. Restaurant: Very small sushi restaurant, but I’ve never had to wait. It’s definitely very cozy and intimate, but casual. Menu: The prices have gone up a lot within the past 5 years, which is expected. However, I felt the quality was not up to par with the price. They do offer specials, you can pair two half rolls for about $15 to get more variety. I ended up ordering the roll I would normally order. Spicy Crunchy Albacore Roll: This is the roll I’d generally order in the past and I tried it again last night. It used to be about $9 for this roll but it’s gone up to be about $12 now. Still the same number of pieces (6), but instead of sprinkling the jalapeno and onion salad over the rolls, they’ve put it on the side now. I felt the roll is still pretty good, the rice was extra crispy, but there was definitely much more rice than meat this time. Miso Soup: Complimentary! Tastes just like any other miso soup, this one doesn’t really have seaweed or tofu in it, but it isn’t bad. Can’t really complain if it’s free! Overall experience here was decent. Our server was incredibly sweet, constantly making conversation with us and making sure we got what we needed. The only downside is that there was only one chef last night, so our food took at least 20 minutes to come out. Nonetheless, I kind of miss Misoya from back during my college days, or perhaps that was all I could afford with my college student wallet, but I definitely felt my Spicy Crunchy Albacore Roll was not worth $12 last night.

Recovery Sports Grill – Menu with Prices – 1672 Sentinel Dr, Chesapeake

The good: The service was not bad and the staff was friendly. The atmosphere was good, the place was clean and had comfortable nice looking seating. Lots of screens which was cool. The bad: the food was just barely mediocre and maybe on par with fast food quality but they charge 3 x the price of fast food. So the value equation was distorted. Some places that serve lower quality food make up for it with quantity. Recovery does not do this. The volume of food was low too. For example the Caesar salad had only cheap iceberg lettuce much of which was harder white lettuce and some bagged croutons. There may have been a third of a grilled chicken breast at most on a $12 salad. Additionally the dressing was about half what should have come with the salad. The mixed drinks from the bar were weak as well. This place just opened not long again and we visited from about 5:50 to 6:45 on a Friday night. The place was about 1/4 full which is a bad sign on a Friday night. If the place would drop prices and keep similar quality it may be ok or preferably increase its food quality drastically it may be worth going to. We will try 1 more time but there are definitely better options within 1 mile of the Chesapeake location.

Sakana Sushi – Menu with Prices – 983 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge

This is the old Simon’s coffee shop, turned Anthony’s, now Sakana! We had a party of 4 adults and 1 baby, so we needed to wait around 1245 pm on a snowy day. The staff was nice enough to let us know the other 2 tables of 4 were closing their checks; and fortunately we only waited 7-10 minutes. There was metered parking nearby and I used the Boston app on my phone to pay! Easy. We were seated and all four of us ordered the sashimi lunch. We also ordered the black forest roll—-so yummy! Tuna, asparagus, yellow tail and truffle! And the yellow tail scallion roll also hit the spot! The sashimi lunch was clean and was presented quite beautifully. It was on a grill rack over a piece of ice along w shiso leaves as garnish. The cuts were not large but the fish quality was very good. 8 pieces of sashimi and a bowl of sushi rice w tobiko sprinkled on top. The lunch special came w miso soup and a small salad. I requested the waiter for more ginger and hot waters and he very pleasantly obliged. Got an order of Cali rolls Togo but I’ll be back soon to get more of their specialty rolls and cooked foods!

Morris American Bar – Menu with Prices – 1020 7th St NW, Washington

I came here for its 1-year anniversary party, having looked forward to visiting this bar for awhile. The following review is based on that party, rather than a general visit to the bar. We were all required to RSVP for the party, which we thought guaranteed us entrance when we got there, but apparently, the RSVP was for the bar’s benefit–not ours. It doesn’t quite make sense because it seemed like the bar would have approached the situation in the same way no matter how many people. What does it do on a normal Friday night? Are there usually not many people who come? And, the way the RSVP was worded, we all were REQUIRED to RSVP if attending, but we weren’t even asked if we RSVP’d when we arrived. Luckily, we weren’t forced to wait out in the frigid cold and soon were able to grab a seat at the bar. In the meantime, we sampled some of the hors d’Å?uvres (finger food like veggies with dip, meat, and cheeses). The pictures probably don’t do it justice, but those food trays were PICKED OVER. Looked like savages had taken a stab at each of them, probably due in part to the fact that there was no appropriate serving knife for the cheese. In fact, TWO of the tongs used to serve the food were BROKEN, likely intentionally to just cut the cheese! It was a bit disorganized, and the fact that there were broken pieces of a tong somewhere on the food tray is unsettling. It’s not like you can easily cut Brie cheese with tongs or a fork (and that’s all the bar had out). Knife please? When we did sit down, we had an enjoyable time. The drinks were each interesting (one had hot sauce and another bourbon and wine together). I got the smash with a little less sweet. While it wasn’t my favorite, it wasn’t bad, and the bartender specifically told me that if I wasn’t satisfied with it, she would assuredly make me another. The ambiance was nice, with live jazz music in the background, but we just so happened to be sitting right in front of the musicians so had to talk loudly. Wish the music was a bit softer! Upon closing out, we received a little bottle of alcohol (maybe a bartender’s concoction?). All in all, it was a nice night to catch up with a friend, but I wish the planning that went into the party was a bit better, or that the place just treated it like a normal Friday night.

Irashiai Sushi Pub Japanese – Menu with Prices – 115 Pelham Rd #26, Greenville

I love the sushi and appetizers here. They have happy hour from 5-7pm Mon-Thur. And they are open for lunch Sunday-Friday. Update (6/16/19): The rolls here are super thickkk and filling. Honestly would be really stuff with just an appetizer and a roll. I’ve tried a number of things from the menu. I like their salad dressing. It’s like a ginger vinaigrette. The tornado cucumber is really refreshing and you have a choice of what protein you want for it. The tornado cucumber is like a veggie salad slash sushi roll where everything is wrapped with cucumber instead of rice. I usually go for a salmon tornado cucumber. There’s a vinaigrette sauce that is poured on it and it’s really tasty and evicts the blandness of the cucumber and veggies of the dish. My favorite roll is the lucky cat. Their crab fingers are good so but gets tiring really quick. Their string beans age are pretty good but I think it would be better if it was tempura instead of just battered (kind of like a fried okra). Their sashimi is hit or miss. It doesn’t always taste fresh.
