I always love the way I’m treated when I come here to buy seafood. Not only do they have the freshest fish in town caught locally for Some like the mahi others like I bought today are farm raised ( The salmon ). They always also have the best people working the counter. Today I had the cute surfer dude with the pretty blue eyes Wish me a Happy Birthday and told me 30 looks good on me. How can you not love coming into a place when you get complimented and you’re getting the best seafood in town. I also grabbed 2 lobster tails to make tomorrow night so I guess I’m totally sea fooded out. Conveniently located on Dixie highway just North of Yamato road it’s a free standing building painted light blue Just like the ocean so you cannot miss it. Can’t wait to put my salmon on the grill tonight and enjoy dinner .

Triar Seafood Co – Menu with Prices – 3166, 2046 McKinley St # 7, Hollywood

Shhhhh, ok, not sure I should review this joint as not sure if I want tons of folks finding out about this hidden gem. Kudos to my fellow Yelpers for helping to find incredible fresh seafood market. Tucked away in a small warehouse district close to West Dixie Hwy or thereabouts, one will find Triar Seafood Company. They mostly cater to top chefs and restaurants but was pleased to find out they do sell direct to consumers. Picked up 1lb of fresh Scottish Salmon at a competitive price and man oh man, so so good! Their seafood selection is huge. All one has to do, is check it out online, call ahead with your order and show up with CASH. Reference prices and doing some checking, I would say they’re competitive with your local Whole Foods, hence the less than 5-star review but everything is guaranteed Fresh, not frozen. They don’t take credit cards. And you’ll be in and out in about 10min with your fish wrapped and on ice. And with friendly folks there to help, this will mainly be my stop for fresh seafood from here on out.

Seafood Center – Menu with Prices – 712 S Whitney Way #2506, Madison

This place is amazing! Not only is there a fantastic selection of seafood that you can take home and cook up yourself, there are awesome food items for a delicious meal of condiments, sauces, breading and batter mixes, utensils, cedar boards, etc… (and, if you’re unsure as to how to cook or grill something, they can tell you). The best place for a fabulous HOT LUNCH of “The Catch of the Day” which consists of different fish varieties (salmon, sole, white fish, halibut…to name a few) along with fries and cole slaw. Or, you can have a selection of…..Cod, Lake Perch, CatFish, Scallops, Fried Clams and Calamari and served with fries and cole slaw as well. Their prices are VERY reasonable and the employees rock! …….Susie, Chaz, Nick, Zach, JJ and Everyone are so wonderfully nice! Great location on the corner of Whitney Way and Odana Road. If you love seafood, you will LOVE The Seafood Center. When my family and I think of Seafood, we think the SEAFOOD CENTER! Hands down, this is the best place ever.

Dixie’s Icing – Menu with Prices – 12735 Marinda St, Omaha

Dixie’s customer service is excellent. Dixie’s Icing is wonderful. It is easy to decorate with and tastes great too! It is nice to have a few flavors and colors to choose from.

Madfish Grill – Menu with Prices – 4059 Cattlemen Rd, Sarasota

I have lived on Bee ridge and cattlemen my whole life and just this year began going to Madfish. I guess I always thought it was an all seafood restaurant which I’m not a fan of. But I was pleasantly surprised by the wide array of non seafood options. My favorite dishes are the jerk chicken wings, the Caesar salad (best Caesar dressing in town) and they specially make the chicken Marsala for me. Their Marsala sauce is amazing, it is so creamy and light. Everything is so fresh as well. Tonight I came in after the gym looking for a quick, not so heavy meal. I ordered the voodoo chicken with blue cheese sauce and spinach off of the summer menu and it is the best thing I’ve ever had!! I hope they keep this item always!!!!

Seafish Market – Menu with Prices – 205-02 Hillside Avenue, Jamaica

On Christmas eve I usually get an assortment of food to go and i usually like to get some kind of lobster, I wanted to try a place called Kings but they were not answering their phone so after some research found this place, it’s a small ‘Halaal’ fish store, price was pretty high compared to a Supermarket or other seafood monger and was comparable with a sit down restaurant, they had 4 oz. Tails for $11 & 6oz tails for $23 (in the Supermarket they usually go for under $20 per lb. For the small ones and $24 per lb for the 6oz type) so I opted for 4 of the 4oz tails which they sell steamed, the machine they used to steam them was some super high pressure steamer, they seasoned them and basted them in butter. They were still of decent temperature on arrival home, found them impossible to remove from the shell with the plastic forks provided so had to go at the using my hands while the meat was stuck to the shells they were very tasty. I doubt that Lobster is considered Halaal but it was tasty.

Southern Coals Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 3319 C Raeford Rd, Fayetteville

This one is easy to miss from the main road. You have to go down a side road, and it is located in an old rundown strip mall. Don’t let that fool you though. If you need some tasty Pork and Beans, then this is the place for you. That is where my food experience ended. When you walk in you are getting a BBQ establishment that takes pride in the way their restaurant looks. I love everything about it. It is clean. The service is great! I like that the bar area is a totally separate area. We rolled in at lunch and the place was fairly busy. We had 6 people in our group and we were able to be seated comfortably. This place is totally nice looking on the inside and I had high hopes for the food. I am not sure what happened. My coleslaw tasted like it had way too much mayonnaise in it, and that it wasn’t mixed very well. Dang it! I love coleslaw and this was a serious disappointment. I thought, okay let’s see if the brisket can make up for it. Nope! The brisket lacked juicy flavor because it tasted and looked dry. Not sure how long it had been sitting around, but you need good brisket to sit around soaking in the num num goodness of its juices. Keeping it braised is seriously the best thing you can do to a brisket to keep it tender. It chewed like an old leather shoe lace. Double Dang it! I love me so good Brisket and this was nothing like it. I do have to say, i liked the look of this place so much, that I could see myself hanging out there with friends, and enjoying ourselves, so I will give them another chance when we come back. Maybe it would be best during a busy Friday or Saturday night, when you know they have everything fresh to keep up with the crowd. I will check it out again, and hope for better results.

Seafood Shop – Menu with Prices – 9747 E 21st St N, Wichita

The Seafood Shop (Full review with photos on JakeRamstack.com) Where do you find fresh fish in a land-locked state? The best place to go is the Seafood Shop. They offer fresh fish delivered daily from the dock. There are even restaurants here in Wichita, that only buy their fish from the Seafood Shop. (insider secret) We always buy the smoked salmon and make an appetizer recipe with smoked salmon and whipped creme cheese with an apple slice on a cracker. It’s amazing, you also should try their dips – ready to go. They carry over 200 species of fish and shellfish, but if you want something special, they can order and have it to you within 48 hours. If you would like, they will cook your fish for you too. Want something ready to eat? They offer dinners to-go on Tuesday through Saturday, and lunch on Fridays. The fish tacos are superb. Meet Tish, Seafood Shop owner and awesome fish monger, pictured on right. She knows all about the fish. Stay tuned for an ‘Around Town’ video on the Seafood Shop! Fun fact: They also have cooking classes and recipes listed on their website. Check them out!

Seaview Crab Company – Menu with Prices – 1515 Marstellar St, Wilmington

When we go on vacation, we like to cook fresh seafood. We visited the location right over the bridge in Carolina Beach. We purchased a 1/2 bushel of Jimmies (Blue Crab) and steamed them ourselves. They were fantastic! The next night, we ordered 100 clams and made a clam linguine. Awesome! The Grouper is fantastic. We battered it in a New Orleans Style Fish Fri seafood breading mix. Placed on top on bun with shredded lettuce and tartar sauce. Cobia was my least favorite fish. My husband loved the raw oysters. And our last night, we ate King Crab Legs. Definitely got our fill of seafood while on vacation.

State Street Bar&Grill – Menu with Prices – 70 State St, Rochester

When I come to Rochester on business trips I stay at the Rochester Plaza Hotel (now a Holiday Inn) and because this restaurant is conveniently located in the lobby I have frequented this establishment. I usually get a Ceasar salad with salmon and it has never disappointed. Today I tried the Salmon in a maple honey sauce with seasonal veggies and honestly the sauce immediately made me think of a pancake syrup and the vegetables were super soggy to say the least. My other dining partners had chicken francese on a bed of watery pasta…you could use a spoon to slurp the sauce like a soup. a Although the plating was appeasing, I do know for now on salads are the only way to go at State St Bar and Grille…

OLD TOWN KISSIMMEE – Menu with Prices – 5770 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee

Finally I made it to Old Town! I have passed by here a bunch of times on my many trips to Orlando. I usually tire myself going to the parks which does not allow extra time to check out other places in the area. This time around we had nothing planned to do except eat, shop and our hotel happened to be walking distance next door. Old Town is a strip mall and attraction area just offâ?? the 192 main highway road in Kissimmee. It looks and feels like a Western town straight out of a cowboy movie. It is a strip mall with small shops, bars, arcade, restaurants, magic theatre/store, tattoo shop, souvenir stores and carnival rides on both ends of the strips as well as having Fun Zone right next to them as well. Some of the bars have really inexpensive beers and drinks which is very good. We did not eat or drink here. The only place we spent our money was in the tattoo shop where my friend got a piercing. The tattoo shop was pretty awesome though, not going to lie. I came on a Wednesday in the day time. It was kind of empty and some stores were closed until night time. I saw some bars had Karaoke and live music on select nights. I can imagine how this place gets packed on nights and weekends. I would hang out here if I was a local and I would totally come back with my friends to hang out. I do however feel like the strip mall is lacking something. After reading a few other reviews I see Old Town used to have more character in other times. Some of the stores were empty and I’m not sure it’s because there is not enough foot traffic during the day time. I can’t say either way, I liked it.

Corner Sushi – Menu with Prices – 2443 Dixie Hwy, St. Augustine

I went to Corner Sushi bar located on Dixie highway in the same shopping center that Planet fitness it located. I went there for dinner and got a water and two sushi rolls the first roll I had was the Rock N Roll roll which had shrimp tempura, krab, cheese, and fish eggs in it. The second roll I had was the Yoyo Roll which has krab stick and cream cheese deep fried. When we first got they greeted and sat us right a way. We did not sit there for long still our server came to our table asking us what we wanted to drink. While we were looking over the menu they gave us a complementary roll and soup. It did not take long for us to get our food and once we got it the food was delicious. Once we were done with our meals and right before we got our checks we got a little piece of chocolate cake on the house. The service was fantastic and you would not have expected how nice the inside was from how they outside looked. It was very clean inside, you could see the chefs making the food, and good music. Everything I experienced there was great I wouldn’t say that there was anything they could have done better.
