Probably my favorite boba spot here in Fresno/Clovis area, aside from my favorite chain I-tea. I’ve mostly had their cremas, which is this cheesy topping that is super creamy and fattens up your tea drink. It’s so great! I also like their matcha drinks – very good matcha taste. Lightly sweetened is perfect for me, but I also don’t drink super sweet drinks too much. My favorite drinks are the matcha crema and the jasmine green tea crema. Heavy tea taste for the jasmine GT, which is just the way I like my tea drinks. I can’t speak about their boba topping because I usually do no toppings for my tea drinks (crema doesn’t count). Also honest owners/staff. They were training a new employee that charged an extra topping for my crema (crema drinks are 3.99+tax and do not count as another topping), and I didn’t even know because credit cards make it so easy to spend money without knowing how much you spent (haha). But they approached me to refund my 50 cents. It is definitely much appreciated for a broke medical student. Thank you for bringing quality tea drinks to this area! Of note, they have board games and cute decorations for holidays. Plenty room to socialize. Small parking lot. Can potentially do light studying but does get pretty busy with kids and families.

N7 Draft Tea + Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3005 Silver Creek Rd #184, San Jose

Right now this place stands as my favorite tea shop in South Bay. Sorry Tisane but you have to take the backseat with your sister Pekoe because N7 is riding shotgun with me from now on. I’ve been here a few times already and I haven’t been disappointed except for when I have to wait in line. So far I’ve gotten the: [1] Mango Matcha ($4.75) – If you ever had the mango matcha at happy lemon this is different in the sense that it’s more of a tea drink than a smoothy. I do admit that they give you a little too much mango puree but you can always ask them to adjust that. I love the milky foam that comes with the drink, it definitely helps tone down the sweetness and you can really taste matcha flavor. Many tea places that I go to say they use matcha but they use that lower grade green tea bs. This place is doing it right. [2] Assam nitro tea 50% sweet ($4) – The quality of tea is undeniable. It reminds of when Teaspoon back in the day before they expanded so much. When I first got the tea I thought it had milk in it but I think because they brew it somehow with nitrogen the foam makes it look milky. After a few minutes you can see the darkness of the tea and I think 50% is a good amount of sweetness but everyone should do 75% or 100% and see how they like it before adjusting it. I generally like my teas to taste like tea so I always go 50% everywhere I go. [3] Jasmine cheese crema 50% sweet ($4.25) – The jasmine flavor was a bit light so I think between the two black and green. I would go with the black tea which is that assam. It has a little more flavor to it but if your preference is still jasmine then by all means get this drink. It’s rare for me but I probably would go 75% or even 100% with the jasmine tea. The cheese crema isn’t as cheesy as happy lemon but it is still good. You still get that milky texture. I think if they decide to add salt to it. It will pull out more flavor but then again it would be like drinking a cheese cake, which SOUNDS AWESOME. So far this is my least favorite among the 3 that I got but still a good choice for you jasmine tea lovers. The biggest negative for me is that they don’t have a rewards system yet. Please get FiveStars are something because it would only give you more business. I will still come but if there was like a promo or something that told me hey you are 2 points away from getting a free drink. You know where I would be inclined to go. Vibe: Feels like a nice lounge/bar, less noisy than others like Pekoe and less night club feeling, which is great for me. I’m not a fan of those dark rooms with loud music. Maybe it’s just my age hehe. PARKING: Good luck, it’s an asian parking lot so you know what to expect. Of course if you going during off hours it’s fine for the most part.

It’s Boba Time – Menu with Prices – 136 S Brand Blvd, Glendale

We were craving boba and happened to be in the area we decided to stop by Boba Time for a couple drinks. The line was extremely long but we decided to wait it out. We ordered the Strawberry Matcha & Mango Peach Smoothie. My Strawberry Matcha drink wasn’t good, it tasted very watered down, not sweet enough, and barely had any strawberry flavor once it was all mixed together. Definitely not comparable to Boba Guys’ Strawberry Matcha Latte if you’ve ever had it. I would say the boba helped add sweetness to the drink, otherwise it would’ve been very bland and not much of a pleasure to drink. I would probably try a different drink next time if I was in the area and wanted boba again. The Mango Peach Smoothie tasted like your average Mango Peach Smoothie at other boba spots. Nothing too special about it but it tasted way better than the Strawberry Matcha.

Jasmine Kocha – Menu with Prices – 3129 Meridian Ave, San Jose

We came here because they had their promo of buy one, get one drink 1.99 (Extended until the 15th of October btw, make sure you show them their Facebook post and like it)! The service is nice and they like to try helping you order. I believe it’s family run as they all came out from the back and were snacking together in the front. This made me worry about who was in the back making the teas or letting the stuff sit there.. What we ordered and how it came out: Matcha Latte: little ice, reg sweet, no topping: Matcha powder is low quality/weak and had a powdery aftertaste. You could really only taste the milk as it seemed like they didn’t use a lot of matcha as they’re supposed to. Choco milk tea: less ice, reg sweet, no topping: Could really only taste Hershey syrup and no tea. Might as well just call it just chocolate milk. Red Moonshine: less ice, reg sweet, with mango popping boba. This is a strawberry and watermelon fused drink! You can’t taste the strawberry but can taste the watermelon. The tea is weak in this one as well and the popping boba wasn’t great either, which REALLY surprised me…you can never go wrong with popping boba unless you keep it out of the fridge for a long period of time and then serve it, like this place did. Ahhh… Long story short: they use the cheapest things to serve customers and it’s not worth the drive or the promo. There’s much better places around San Jose that does a lot better. I don’t think I’ll be back :/

Boba Junkie – Menu with Prices – 1200 W Warner Ave unit b, Santa Ana

Boba Junkie is a small boba shop in a sketchy looking plaza. It’s pretty small inside probably only 5 tables. I came here one night with my boyfriend because we were in the area and wanted to try it. I think we were pretty disappointed in their drinks. We saw Yelp reviews and pictures hyping it up but I think the drinks fell flat. We got the matcha latte and the house drink and both were somewhat disappointing but the matcha latte was more disappointing. The matcha latte didn’t taste like matcha at all. My boyfriend says it tastes like seaweed… The house drink was way too sweet. The earl gray base was ok but overall drink was too sweet. Both drinks were sweet and it ruins the flavor. I don’t blame them since I have a lot of expectations when it comes to milk teas since I’m in love with milk teas but this place fell flat.

Feng Cha Teahouse – Menu with Prices – 2701 Custer Pkwy, Richardson

My current favorite place for boba in DFW right now. The cafe is really cute and lets in a lot of natural light. It seems like a great place to read, study, or meet up with friends as there is quite a bit of space with plenty of seating and tables. Feng Cha has some of the most unique boba drinks in DFW that I’ve seen so far, and a variety of milk foam caps you can add on (taro, cheese foam, sea salt, matcha, etc), so Feng Cha gets major points for that! You can also adjust the sweetness of your drink here, which is a must for me in a boba shop. I enjoyed my rose oolong with the addition of matcha milk foam (70% sweet). This combo went pretty well together and I thought the matcha tasted pretty good. I tried it with taro milk foam once as well and this was not my favorite combination. I thought the taro was on the sweeter side, which was a negative for me. I’ve also tried the dirty boba (70% sweet), which was pretty delicious at first. It has cheese milk foam and brown sugar on top. After a while though I realized I couldn’t finish it. It is super rich, creamy, and sweet. If you want something more decadent, this might be the drink for you! We also tried the afternoon tea matcha cake. Unfortunately, it was just alright. It looked very pretty though. It was disappointing that the matcha milk foam was just thrown over some basic pound cake. I think it would be a hit if they introduced the first Japanese souffle pancakes in DFW and then they can throw the milk foam over that. It seems like that’s getting pretty popular right now. Overall, I can’t wait to try more drinks and milk foam combinations! There is also a Feng Cha in Carrollton now, which is closer to me! YAY! Summary- Favorite Drink: rose oolong with matcha milk foam cap (70% sweet) Business tip/gold mine idea: Ditch the pound cake and introduce the first Japanese Souffle pancakes in DFW on your menu, so you can throw milk foam on top of that!!

Sharetea Riverside – Menu with Prices – 10920 Magnolia Ave #103, Riverside

The Most Consistent Boba, Friendly Staff, Clean Place I am new to Riverside and have only been here for a few months. I moved here from OC where there are tons of good boba places and was looking for a good boba spot in Riverside, thank God I came across this place! The first time I came to Sharetea, I tried their Matcha w/ fresh milk with boba. It did not disappoint. Their matcha was good quality and mixed in well throughout the drink. Boba was the perfect consistency, not too firm or soft, with a good amount of sweetness. I also love how you can customize the amount of sweetness (and ice) in each drink! I could not just visit this place once, came here for three consecutive days! Staff is friendly and answers my questions if I want to try something new. (I tried their milk tea which is also great, but my favorite is matcha.) What’s the most impressive is that each and every time, their boba was so consistent! They have got their boba making skills down to a science. You can tell it’s calculated. They make it with just the right amount of sweetness and cook it for just the right amount of time on the daily, even when it’s different staff working. Taste is always consistent. Look no further for the perfect boba spot! Definitely, recommend! If you enjoy this place and will be going often, do get a stamp card though. I did not find this out until my fourth visit!!!! Lol.

Kung Fu Tea – Menu with Prices – 2067 N Central Expy Suite 100, Richardson

Kung Fu Tea One of my favorite Boba chains and has locations all over the US. My favorite drinks from KFT are the milk teas. The Milk Teas at KFT are my favorite because of how creamy and rich the milk tea is compared to other Boba shop chains. The inside of the place is clean and looks nice but tables can be dirty like any other boba shop. The staff can make common mistakes just like any other boba shops. Another thing is their attention to your sugar preference. Sometimes I can order 50% sweetness but it’s still really sweet at KFT. This goes for every single boba shop out their is their attention to your sugar preference that you order. The same thing applies when you ask for less ice at KFT and all boba shops can give you normal ice amount. I’ve been to many boba chains and my favorite boba chain is ShareTea for its generous serving of boba and you get a larger size for the same price as a small size at KFT. The tea creaminess of the milk tea at ShareTea is more subtle then KFT. So it’s all a matter of your preference if you want more tea and stronger tea flavor go to ShareTea if you like your tea creamy but get less tea go to Kung Fu Tea. Another thing I don’t like about KFT is that they use a lot of powder flavoring for fruit drinks like taro. My favorite drink at KFT is oolong milk tea with boba because it’s creamy and rich flavor and a nutty taste. Drinks I recommend ordering are the Matcha red bean slush, oolong milk tea, and Kung fu tea. KFT also has an app to earn rewards and points every time you buy.

Short N Sweet Tapioca Tea – Menu with Prices – 35 SE Everett Mall Way # 10, Everett

This is probably one of my favorite stops for a sweet drink in Everett. The Jasmine Milk Tea with boba and (brown sugar) crystal jelly is so delicious I always finish it before I even make it home. All of the standard milk teas I’ve tried here have been delicious and the Super Krazy Drink is surprisingly good too! The Super Krazy Drink is actually a nice way to sample all of the boba, jelly, and pudding flavors all at once and see what you like best. I wouldn’t order it often but it was definitely worth a try. The sandwiches are also very good and I’m looking forward to trying their ice cream soon. The parking can be a little iffy as the lot is small but there’s usually a space or two open. Just be prepared for a little wait. Even if there’s only a couple of orders ahead of you, it’s going to be around 10-15 minutes while they prepare your drinks. Everyone is very personable and accommodating, it just seems like it takes a while to prep and seal your drink in the machine.

Eightfold Tea Shoppe – Menu with Prices – 1460 Baker St, Costa Mesa

Hi, my name is Kim. I am currently on the Eightfold Path to (boba) enlightenment. They say the Eightfold Path is the path that leads to a state of perfect happiness. Boba does in fact bring joy to those who seek it. Let me tell you about my journey so far to finding good boba in the land of Orange County. Eightfold appeared on my radar as Hot & New by Yelp itself. My adventurous spirit craved exactly that. I gravitated towards the Deep Matcha because I follow what the masses like. It also comes with boba and pudding. How can one resist?? The milk and nuances of matcha went well together. It tasted creamy without the matcha being overwhelming bitter. The consistency was just right for me. Slush like without being too icy or liquidy like water. Boba had the perfect, chewy texture. I did also enjoyed the Raspberry Matcha as well. It had an enjoyable tangy element from the raspberry. You got your tang. You got your cream. You got your matcha. There were a lot of different flavors present but it worked together. One didn’t overpower the other too much. Although on a separate visit, the drink tasted more powdery than the previous time. Unfortunately, it could be a hit or miss depending on who makes your drink. However you know what, sometimes you have to give things a second chance. The Eightfold Path is a constant journey but as long as you keep trying it all out, it will come back to you tenfold. That my friend is the path to (boba) enlightenment.

Bloom Tea House – Menu with Prices – 2850 Quimby Rd Suite #125, San Jose

This tea house is legit!! My family and I went to Di Lac for vegetarian food and ran into this brand new Bloom Tea House so thought we give it a try. When we first walked in, we noticed there’s a beautiful flower backdrop to the left. Came to find out it’s all handmade by the owner herself. Amazing. The music is not too loud here so it’s plus. It is relaxing atmosphere so you can really sit down enjoy your cup of tea. Those who knows me, I’m a boba tea lover and I think two important components that make or break the boba drinks are the boba and the tea of course. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with boba and the guava with boba, and for sure the owner definitely knows her tea. It was brew to perfection and you can really taste the tea flavor. They’re both so good and refreshing. The bobas were not soggy or powdery like other places either. It was just the right chewy texture. I couldn’t stop eating them. Not only the drinks are good but they are topped with the signature flower pedals. Makes them too pretty to drink. I came in when they’re busy and surprisingly the drinks came out fast. The gentleman that took my order was super friendly and he made sure to check my sweetness and ice level. He also gave recommendations so it made its much easier for me to chose from menu. Parking is huge so you don’t have to ever worry not finding one. Overall, this tea house deserves five stars and were definitely come back to try their other delicious drinks.

Phi Coffee & Tea – Menu with Prices – 3212 N Jupiter Rd Ste 115, Garland

This isn’t your standard boba shop. This is definitely much more of a coffee shop type place than somewhere to get your milk tea craving satisfied – actually, you can’t even get milk tea here. Which I thought was interesting. I asked the employee what he suggested getting since I had never been there before but still wanted to try something. He told me the most popular drink was the Thai green tea, which sounded pretty tasty since I’m a huge fan of matcha! He definitely did not steer me wrong – I really enjoyed the drink. If you’re a fan of Thai tea and matcha, this is the drink for you. It’s milky like Thai tea, semi-sweet, and filled with matcha flavor goodness. I would have given this place 4 stars had the boba been better made. It was extremely bland and way too chewy. I like my boba to be in between the consistency of soft and chewy, but unfortunately, I was chewing for too long on these little balls. There was also zero flavor, so if you just got a mouthful of boba and no tea, you’re stuck just chewing on flavorless jelly balls. It was odd. The manager also needs to staff their employees better because there was only one visible employee making all the drinks and I saw one employee in the back probably working on food orders. The poor guy was clearly overwhelmed with all the orders coming in so please cut your employees some slack and give them as much help as needed for the demand!

Midori Matcha Cafe, Old Town Pasadena – Menu with Prices – 165 S De Lacey Ave #1049, Pasadena

I love everything Matcha! I passed this place before and since it was advertising matcha I bookmarked it on yelp. After finishing up at the gym I was craving a cold drink and thought a matcha drink would be perfect. There’s street parking available, but all are metered. I saw a sign inside that says free parking on Dayton street. Once I entered I was already impressed with the store. The interior was done in a clean and classy manner. There weren’t too many decorations, just enough to make it inviting. Their menu revolves around Matcha and I decided to go with their Iced Matcha Latte with low-fat milk (fat free is not available, only 2% and low- fat). The total came out to be $6.57, which is a hefty price for a drink. Since the drink was quite expensive I was hoping the quality was amazing and it did not disappoint. I saw the staff make the drink. They used actual Matcha powder, which based on the taste was high quality. A Matcha drink is not complete unless a Bamboo whisk is used and they did just that. Before milk was added the matcha drink was 85%/90% full! At other locations it’s all about the milk and less Matcha. Once I got the drink I was excited to give it a try. After the first sip I was instantly in love. It was the perfect Matcha drink. Matcha itself isn’t sweet, so don’t expect the drink to be sweet. There is liquid sweetener if needed, but I like my matcha natural. Overall I was impressed with my drink and will be coming back to try their soft serve or even another drink! The drinks may be a bit expensive, but the quality is definitely there. Also it’s a perfect place to catch up with friends over a hot/cold coverage or if you need a study place this is it! Update: I tried the Matcha coconut and it is the best. They use Harmless Harvest coconut water which is my favorite!
