ROUSES!!! The Louisiana superstore!! Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. In every department I went through, at least two employees asked if I needed anything. In the meat department, I was asked 4 times! The butcher block delivers on there promise of fresh cut because what I desired was just that, freshly cut to my specifications. This is the epitome of customer service. The store was really busy and the employees were still able to give excellent service. The seafood department is the same way. There were no boiled crabs available and I was informed that if I had 15 minutes to spare, they would boil some for me! Once again, the epitome of CUSTOMER SERVICE. While I waited. I visited the sushi bar for a Teriyaki bowl that I was able to partake in at the sitting area while I watched tv, all provided by Rouses. The store director/manager was walking around making sure customers were satisfied and that everything was where it needed to be. If you need anything, I’m am confident that this Rouses can provide it. From fresh flowers, fresh sushi, to boudin, Rouses can provide it! Oh did I mention, they deliver! That’s right Rouses delivers! All you have to do is order at Rouses.com and they will deliver. I’m not sure the limits on the delivery service, but I applaud the fact that this service is offered. Rouses, home of the holy trinity and my business!

Sushi Revolution – Menu with Prices – 5225 Tacoma Mall Blvd Suite D101, Tacoma

Probably the worst sushi place we have ever been too. Extremely over priced for the horrible quality of sushi made. The food tasted old like it’s been sitting out for some time now.I’m surprised this place is still open for business. Now let’s talk about the service we received. One of their employees were super sweet to us who helped check us out. As far as the other employees I can’t speak much about them. I had requested for new sushi rolls which there are signs that say you can request for them. Instead of getting us new sushi, she pulls one from the belt and when we had asked if they were fresh she says yes. Clearly they weren’t by the quality of every sushi we had tasted since we got there. when I had told her that I didn’t want those she took them from me, rolled her eyes and went to talk about me to her other coworkers. When I had asked the sweet employee about ordering new sushi she had mentioned that the only way for me to get new sushi is by ordering at least 3 (when there are no signs saying there are any minimum requirements). Overall, our sushi experience here has been nothing but horrible! I would highly suggest no one come here due to the poor quality of food and even more so horrible customer service.

valley kabob – Menu with Prices – 23975 Newhall Ranch Rd, Santa Clarita

Went to Valley Marketplace to get a couple specialty items my wife needed for a middle eastern recipe she was making. Having never been in the market before, I asked someone who appeared to be a supervisor where I could find a particular item, he told me “ask that guy”, pointing to another employee, who wandered through the aisles looking for my item. I could have done that. After I found my items, I looked around a bit. Most shelves weren’t completely stocked, some were just completely empty. The other thing I noticed was the meat department. There were large slabs of meat, still in their packing plastic in the meat case next to cut, raw meat, I don’t think County Health would approve, very unsanitary. It looked unorganized and not fresh. The only department that looked good was the produce. Most items looked fresh. As a side note, the market was dimly lit, dirty and not very inviting. Plus it had liquor everywhere, not just in a liquor department, but throughout the store. Very odd. Not impressed, don’t think I will be coming back

Unagi & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 2701 Airline Dr #A, Metairie

I’ve always noticed this place when I go to Rouses and I always end up thinking “oh what a good location for a sushi place: this is great i can pick up sushi after i shop that’s a little ‘higher quality’ than the stuff in the grocery store”.. but then I end up not wanting to go through the effort and head to the sushi counter anyway. I finally decided to give them a try recently. It was my first time ordering so I pulled up the menu at home on my laptop and called in my order (a snow crab roll and a valentine roll). When I called the guy who answered seemed to be in quite a rush, which.. I get it, his job is probably really stressful sometimes. I said what I wanted and he immediately answered “Ok 20 minutes” then hung up. Didn’t ask for my name but I figured whatever maybe they just go off phone number or something? and I tried to kill the “this isn’t going to end well” spidey sense that was creeping over me. Sushi isn’t like pizza or something where food temperature matters (at least to me) so I made it a point to show up at exactly 20 minutes like the phone answerer had told me hoping to avoid having to sit around too long. I went in and the same guy who I talked to on the phone was there (recognized the voice and the bristly manner). I told him I was picking up and he repeated my order to me but said something else instead of the valentine roll. I told him that was wrong and he once again repeated the other roll and started to act like he was frustrated with me. I’m not sure what he was expecting from me. He kept repeating it like he wanted me to just accept the new roll. I thought for a split second that maybe that roll was very similar to the one I ordered? and he thought I should just take it? I’d never been there before though and didn’t exactly have the menu memorized enough to know if it was close. Eventually he just kind of sighed and took the to go box over to the sushi chefs at the bar. He mumbled something at them and started to walk away. “They’re making it now, sit down” he said. I didn’t really care that he’d misheard me on the phone and I didn’t mind waiting, but his attitude was really putting me off. I wasn’t sure how long it would take them to make my roll and thought maybe I could kill the time in Rouses and get a drink real quick so I asked him if he knew about how long the wait would be. He again seemed really frustrated with me and just said “Sit down, they’re making it now.” Well, I sat down. Maybe 4-5 minutes later he gave me my order and I left. I was hoping maybe the quality of the food would redeem what was already a pretty terrible experience. The sushi was… ok. The snowcrab roll was pretty tiny. The valentine roll was a little more substantial but the pieces of actual fish in it were SO tiny. Like comically tiny. I just got the impression that the place is stingy with their ingredients. The prices weren’t THAT cheap, it was a big turn off. In the end the rolls weren’t the worst I’ve ever had but considering the stinginess and the awful attitude of the host/waiter/whatever that guy’s job title is you’re really better off just going into Rouses.

Mother’s Market & Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 19770 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach

I’ve been here a few times over the years. Recently, I’ve been trying to find healthier alternatives to the regular food I was eating on a daily basis, like bread, tortillas, etc. I do admit for a small store they have a large selection of items that are healthier than your typical chain grocery store. One of the things I did notice was their customer service. If you are a person who looks like a stereotypical vegetarian or vegan (yoga pants, thin, hippie-looking) then you get wonderful customer service. If you do not have any of those traits they tend to ignore you or don’t seem to engage in small talk with you. Case and point, when I was looking for organic bread I ask someone who worked there. He pointed to the bread section across the store. As I was walking away someone asked where the herbal pills were and the guy took the lady (looked what you would stereotype a vegan would look like) the other direction on the other side of the store to show her where that section was. I didn’t think much of it, but then I was in the checkout line and a thinner lady was checking out and the clerk was telling her about their app and how customers can save money on it. He gave her a pamphlet as well as an explanation. When I went to check out. Nothing! Not even small talk. Just the question, “Is that going to do it for you?” No explanation about the app or anything like that. You would think they would train their employees to provide better customer service, especially competing with companies like Trader Joes. I’m not at all a fan of this place after my experience there. I’d rather shop at Trader Joes where their employees are friendly and helpful and even if the pricing might be a little more, it’s better than getting ignored and feeling like they are doing you a favor for helping you like they do at Mothers. I’m definitely not going back here.

Sakura Place Japanese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1190 King George Blvd #4, Savannah

We ordered nigiri, sashimi and for pickup. Theirs menu states they deliver for $3.00 but we didn’t try that service. The sushi was good. Everything tasted fresh. The sashimi was placed in a pile. We ordered a Salmon combo and an additional Godzilla role and Crab Rangoon. There was plenty of food for 2-3 people. When I ordered they asked if we wanted shrimp sauce. I said a couple would be nice. I think we may have been charged because the bill total was about $2.00-$3.00 higher than I expected. The women was very friendly. She made it clear when ordering this is the Sushi place next to Stoner’s Pizza behind Rachel ‘s and Dollar General. It is easy to confuse them with the other sushi place by Food Lion and the new coffee shop, Glo’s. I will clearly be back for more sushi.

Kroger Bakery – Menu with Prices – 614 Brandon Ave SW, Roanoke

Currently going through a major overhaul, the process of restocking has caused major customer dissatisfaction. 1.) There are boxes and restocking shelves placed in the middle of the aisles making it impossible to maneuver around and shop. I truly feel sorry for the elderly and /or physically handicapped having to shop at this store. 2.) There were only 2 cashiers open yesterday afternoon with long lines of unhappy customers impatiently waiting to check out. I was told all other cashiers were busy stocking merchandise in the aisles so no one else was available to help with checkout. WHAT?!? 3.) Signs taped to the shelves where products USED to be located direct you to the Aisle # where the product has now been relocated. Again, a hardship on those who are elderly or physically handicapped. Why not improve your customer service and provide an easy-to-read map of the store placed on the handle of each cart detailing where different categories are. This could easily be updated online by designated store employees on a daily basis as products are relocated. This service is currently being utilized by Bloom Stores ( a grocery chain recently purchased by Food Lion). If this is too advanced for Kroger, why not provide customers with an up to date flyer/ map of the store with relocated product locations…could also be revised on a daily basis during this overhaul. The major overhaul occurring at this store has not been planned or executed with customer satisfaction being the #1 priority. A copy of this complaint with photos of the disorganization and long checkout lines has been sent to the corporate offices with this store #.

Kroger Bakery – Menu with Prices – 110 Dover Crossing Rd, Clarksville

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers I’ve found this Kroger to be closer to my home and a better choice than the other ones in this area. The produce section isn’t as cluttered as the one near the Lowe’s and their organic/natural foods section is similarly organized and stocked, though it is on the small side. The biggest-and by far the best difference is the care and attention the employees put towards customers. I went in late on a Sunday night and I heard employees asking customers if they needed help finding anything, not like other places where customer avoidance seems to be the call of the day. When it was my turn to be lost I asked someone and instead of her taking me someone else who worked there walked by and took my to exactly where I needed. I haven’t had two employees offer to take me to what I needed in…ever. The topper was this, it was a slower evening so of course the people working the registers were talking to each other, but when I approached the cashier actually stopped to check out my items. They’ve won my heart and my money.

Food Services of America – Menu with Prices – 5523 N Julia St, Spokane

The management & employees at this location are the best. Freddy, John, Diane, Rob, Orie, Amir, & Austin are the epitome of service and have great people skills. Thanks for your service, time & effort. This group rocks.

Naughty Pig – Menu with Prices – 28780 Old Town Front St, Temecula

I put a premium on customer service, unfortunately Naughty Pig didn’t put the premium on customer service today. I dropped in to buy some sausage, it had been about two months since my last visit. I like their sausages, they are pretty good…so good I have taken them with me when family comes to visit in other parts of California. Or gone out of my way to go buy sausages when an unexpected visitor dropped by for dinner. Today I stopped in at 11 AM and the store had one other customer who was being helped by a butcher. There were 6-7 other store employees. They greeted me as I came in…but then as I stood for five minutes at the meat counter looking, no one said “boo” to me. So after thinking about it, and looking at the 6-7 employees in the store, I figured they have enough business, I’ll take mine elsewhere. The sausages are good, I will get over this experience in a month or two, but you lost my business today and Memorial Day.

Barry Bagels Sylvania – Menu with Prices – 4024 N Holland Sylvania Rd, Toledo

Truly the worst customer service Iâ??ve received in a long time. Stood in a line with 2 other ppl who had already been helped and wasnâ??t even greeted or acknowledged even though I was looked directly at by 3 employees for at least 10minutes! What the??? Helloooo…is anyone there? Are you all zombies? The weirdest behavior exhibited by employees at an establishment thus far! Anyways, after them greeting the man that came in after to me and asking if he was helped, I had to assert myself and asked if my pick up order was ready just to be attended to. Just to point out other customers have experienced similar treatment. This type of behavior needs to be rectified immediately. I would say drive to another location but after reading their reviews it seems like customer service is an issue at all their stores! Employee retraining is needed ASAP!

Ben Gui Sushi – Menu with Prices – 4353 Starkey Rd, Roanoke

Ben Gui Sushi deserves a 10-star on Yelp. I stopped in for lunch during my visit to the mountains and it was a hit! I arrived around 12:00 p.m. as the first customer. The place was slammed by the time that I left. I was greeted twice by the waitress and the sushi chef, they were so kind. It was heartwarming to experience this kind of customer service. I felt so welcomed. I ordered 4-sushi rolls and they were all amazing! The special $14 roll was my favorite! That was out of this world. It’s one of my favorite sushi rolls now. It was more on the spicy side but the concoction of the flavors were all right. The fish was fresh and didn’t leave a fishy taste. A shout out to the miso soup too, that was also on point. As I left, I was asked to see if everything was ok. It was amazing! Couldn’t ask for more. I would drive 3-hour to eat here again in the future. Keep up the great work!

New Deal Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 622 Cambridge St, Cambridge

Went here for the first time to get some sushi-grade fish so my wife and I could try making sushi. In the same boat? This is your place. The fish selection is small but good (although I felt the tuna we got wasn’t really a good choice for sushi). It’s slightly larger than your grocery store fish counter, and all of the fish looks great. The store also carries pretty much everything you need for sushi making: rice, nori, sesame, even fresh ingredients like ginger. I was impressed with how much stuff they had for sushi making here, and I expect us to come back soon. The only thing I wish is that they had more traditional sushi fish like eel and other kinds of tuna. On the other hand, they have some fish I’ve never heard of and would love to try. Recommended
