I saw 5.0 stars so I thought this place would rock pizza. Only after my experience did I realize that was based on 1 review… someone that has only given 5 stars to pizza joints all over the country (hmmmm… ). Not only did they get the online order totally wrong, they tried to charge me $5.00 more than my online receipt. There was no one in the restaurant and it was being babysat by the person running the liquor store next store… I would have done better if I had bought a frozen pizza from the grocery store for 1/3rd the price. Totally unsatisfactory!!!

Main Street Market & Deli – Menu with Prices – 881 Main St, Riverside

I recently moved to the area and was super hungry so put in grocery market in my search engine. This place wasn’t too far from my home but unfortunately it is nor a market Nor deli. It is a liquor store that has a taqueria inside. Everything look dingy and dirty I did walk out with an ice cream bar and a bag of ice. I walked in expecting to purchase a few grocery items that I could perhaps cook for lunch or dinner. Super disappointed overall if you’re looking for a liquor store I don’t know if they sell alcohol but they do have a variety of sodas and candy and junk food as well as tobacco products. The cashier who am I assume is the owner of the store was very friendly and was surprise when he heard that they are advertised as a market and deli online. So basically if you need something quick and easy they will have it for you or if your hungry and want to try their tacos go for it. I was in the mood to cook my own food I didn’t want to purchase any…

Square Bottle Liquor – Menu with Prices – 21 Naples St, Chula Vista

This has been my corner liquor store since I was a little girl. At first it was 5 cent candies and now it’s 5 dolla craft beer. The owners have been running that store as long as I can remember. Mac and his wife always remember me and say hi. They used to ask how my dad was when he was a live. I think it was because he was one of their best customers….. Like father like daughter. It can be a little cluttered but I always find what I need when I go. I love there selection of baby liquor bottles crowding the counter. Heaven knows when you might need a few quick shots of courage before a date or just to keep your sanity. The liquor selection is ok. I found a few cool craft beers which has made me happy. My neighborhood liquor store is kind, friendly and supplies me with beer. I’m good with that : )

Marcos Deli – Menu with Prices – 707 N Broadwalk, Hollywood

I understand that running and operating a business costs money. But reselling frozen foods you buy from a grocery store is not what I call good business. Then not only that but for the price of 8 wings I could buy a whole bag for 10$. I got sick off the 2 wings I ate. The fries were absolutely aweful, then you charge 3$ for a water. Inflating prices is not the American way. In the end I had to pay for food I didn?t even eat. I was very displeased.

Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza – Menu with Prices – 3005 S St Francis Dr, Santa Fe

OK, I’ll admit that the pizza isn’t the greatest, and you have to take it home and cook it yourself… But the price is the best in town and probably healthier than that frozen piece of stone that hold’s the DiGiorno label from the supermarket next door. The price here is probably the real shocker. Most of the other pizza places in town easily charge another $10 for a similar pizza, and that’s no reason to drop their ratings if they are good… But this pizza can also hit the spot if you’re strapped for cash… And hold onto the promo-receipt too because that could hold another $2 off your next pizza party. HOWEVER, ordering the bare-bones lasagna is a mistake. It is pasta-esque in it’s shape and texture, but you can find a frozen one cheaper that will taste better at the afore mentioned supermarket next door. I am a fan of Papa Murphy’s calzones too, but always ask for extra dipping sauce because that always seems to come up short. Again, you’re cooking this at your home, so make sure your oven has the correct settings or you may end up with a weird soft spot in the center of the pizza crust… An issue I never had in other states with this chain, but maybe it’s the altitude?

Virginia ABC – Menu with Prices – 3341 Melrose Ave NW, Roanoke

Was in town briefly, they had what I needed. All pluses. It’s a big liquor mart/store and they have a wide variety to choose from. So definitely nothing to complain about… well except that Virginia doesn’t sell liquor in grocery stores… but they sell wine and beer? So everyone has to go to state owned liquor stores in Virginia because that’s the only option. Seems pretty silly.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Menu with Prices 1848 Fourth St, Berkeley

I had what I’ll call an interesting experience at the Kiehl’s store on 4th today. I should start by saying that I don’t live in Berkeley, but this location (which is about 25 minutes from my home) is the closest Kiehl’s store to me. That said, when I called the Kiehl’s customer service number to see if I could exchange a product I bought online at one of their storefronts, and was given the green light, I decided to make the drive over to 4th Street to do just that. Before doing so, though, I called the shop to be extra sure that an exchange would be possible. At first the lady on the phone said it wouldn’t be possible since I no longer had the box and printed receipt that came with my original order. I let her know that the Kiehl’s rep that I spoke with on the phone said that wouldn’t be an issue, since I have electronic proof of my purchase. After telling the employee this, she said it would be fine and then hung up without another word. Flash forward to when I got there. I took the product out to hand to the lady (the same one I spoke with on the phone) and she immediately said “no, that’s part of a kit. We don’t sell that individually.” To which I responded, “I bought it as an individual product online.” She muttered something and then said she’d get the manager. A few minutes later the manager came out. As soon as he saw the product I was exchanging he said, “that is part of a kit.” I just want to stop for a second here to say that, to a customer, these words sound like: we’re on to you and know that that’s actually part of a kit, so don’t think you can return it and swindle us. Not a great first impression. I tried to calmly explain that the product is sold individually online, and that I called ahead to make sure this exchange would be possible. Anyway, long story (somewhat) short: I did get the exchange and the manager was kind and helpful after the first interaction. My first interactions (first on the phone and then with both employees in the store) left something to be desired, however. 3 stars because I did get what I had gone in for, and the manager was nice.

Indian Spices & Groceries – Menu with Prices – 3265 22nd St, San Francisco

This is a solid, high-quality Indian grocery store, and an excellent addition to the neighborhood. The selection in this store focuses on the things that are best purchased directly from Indian purveyors, even in an era of online-one-click-everything. The store carries dry spices, spice mixes, lentils, rices, assorted flours, ghee, packaged namkeen and mithai, pretty much everything you’d expect to find at an Indian grocery and spice store- Including the nostalgic things that remind us of home, like biscuits and Maggi sauces and pani puris. There is also a refrigerated section, carrying idli and dosa batter, along with the usual array of frozen rotis/parathas/naans, and packaged meals. The store just opened, and they are asking all their customers for suggestions on items to carry – I have high hopes for this business, and hope they stick around!

lambeth pizza – Menu with Prices – 1-2295 Wharncliffe Rd S, London

This places rips you off. I ordered the twin lg pizza deal which is 25.99 on their website menu and a gyro salad which is 6.49. They forgot my 3 dips and 4 pops AND over charged me more then $10 (total 45.17). When I called upon arriving home Mustafa agreed to refund the difference if we went back to the store and give us the dip and pop (we live out of town, and picked up on the way home). The story totally changed when we got into the store. He only gave me $3.15 , no dips and no pop. I will never be returning to this place again and would not recommend. You can get much better pizza especially for that price at pizza pizza or panago just down the street.

Wings ‘N Things Menu with Prices 601 W 36th Ave Ste 7, Anchorage

I order from Domino’s occasionally since they tend to have better deals than other national pizza chains in Alaska (looking at you, Pizza Hut). Plus the online tracker is pretty cool. I’ve ordered from this location many times without any issues, but I likely won’t return after my most recent experience. I placed an online order using a 50% off pizza coupon I received in my email. I normally pay online but didn’t feel like bothering with entering my credit card information online. In retrospect, I probably should have as then I would have avoided this situation entirely. Anyway, I went to pick up and pay and the cashier was going to charge me full price until I pointed it out. The box clearly stated the price as did my confirmation email, and yet some employee was claiming the coupon code was from July, despite being emailed that exact day. Eventually it was resolved and I got the 50% off, but not until after some girl on her way to do a delivery told me Alaska has international pricing (what even?) and sometimes coupons don’t work. Mind you, I’ve used coupons at this location many times before and never once had a problem. The cherry on top of this mess is that when I got home, there were black olives all over my pizza. I hate black olives, so I know I didn’t ask for any. But it was Monday and I was too tired to bother going back to the store so I just picked them off. I’ll stick to the new one in south Anchorage from now on.

Linda Seafood Market – Menu with Prices – 1626 N Fresno St, Fresno

Divey just like any South East Asian store in Fresno, the highlight of this place is the fresh fish and LIVE seafood such as Crabs, Lobster and Oysters. In addition they also carry a complete asian grocery goods such as sauces, vegetables, herbs, spices, frozen goods, can goods, tea, coffee and even cutleries, tableware and more. There is plenty of private lot parking around the store, and be warned that this store is really for non-divas, because it is a place for more adventurous people who are used to asian styled chaotic grocery with the lack of details to create a beautiful grocery experience. With that said, its not the worst I’ve seen. Overall Im a fan of this place because it carries a huge inventory of asian grocery and overall the price is very cheap. I would say somethings are even way cheaper than R-N, golden bowl and Asia supermarket. Cash is preferred but they do accept credit cards and debit cards. The aisle is not very big, but the store is packed right and left with goods, I wouldn’t think they carried so much stuff, but they do. I do love seeing the pots, pans, mugs, cups, plates, bowls, saucers and etc at a very cheap price in comparison to other place in town. Its not crowded too when I visited it at noon. In addition they also have a huge range of frozen seafood and asian ingredients such as screwpine leaves and various exotic fishes. The owner is asian style service so dont expect much, be independent and explore this tiny little seafood store. They are open from 9-6 according to the owner, however I would call first before coming. I haven’t purchased the fresh fish yet, so I can’t give my testimonial on that, but their dry goods and vegetable has been great.

Katie’s Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1180 Oxford St E, London

About half full for a Sunday lunch. It is a relatively small place. The restaurant was clean. Pop is $2.25 per can. For two cans, I could go to the grocery store and buy a case. No refills for you. The servers were friendly, but hard to get their attention if needed. I ordered chicken fingers and fries. The fries looked like they were fried in grease that has not been changed in quite some time, but they did actually taste quite good. However, I will not be able to salvage the chicken fingers for this review. I am pretty sure they are just ordered frozen by some supplier. A party at our table ordered fish and chips. His fish looked was also just frozen fish ordered from some supplier. The prices are average for a diner, the portion sizes average as well. When all is said and done, I will not return to this place. Although friendly and clean, the food tasted ok, soft drinks are way too expensive, no refills, they cook frozen pre-purchased food … I know of other diners that make their food “home made” for the same price and have soft drink refills. I will give this place three stars as not to discourage people from trying it out for themselves if they were thinking about it … but really, in my mind, two stars is more appropriate.

Nuristan Halal Food, International Grocery, Afghani Food And Catering Serves – Menu with Prices – 27287 Nicolas Rd #101, Temecula

Friendly staff. The size of a corner lot liquor store. Has an eatery inside with delicious kubideh – one of the few places that serves chicken. Spoke to the cashier and she said to try the chicken pieces instead next time. She used to be a kubideh person but prefers the chicken pieces now. So must be good! The grocery store isn’t too extensive but will have the necessities – spices, mixes, breads, and desserts. The layout makes everything easy to find – makes sense. Never had to use the restroom so can’t speak to that. Location is tucked behind a more prominent street corner lot. But parking has never been an issue. Since Pamir closed down so long ago, this has turned into my preferred eatery for kubideh. All-in-all, been grocery shopping twice here and will continue to eat at the hot foods section.
