Absolutely one of my favorite places in Brooklyn. Everyone in this coffee shop is always friendly and the food is always fresh! The couple who owns the place are always in there and make sure their customers are taken care of! I’m not Haitian or West Indian but I’ve been told they are the best patties in Brooklyn! Whenever I’m sick I get ginger/lemon tea and the chicken bullion soup (which always sells out) and it’s so soothing! Go coffee they have several non dairy options (almond, oat and macadamia nut milk) which I love! Everything is amazing…but come early because they always sell out of patties and soup! If I ever moved from Bed Stuy this would be the place I miss the most.

Rawmanticchocolate – Menu with Prices – 1053 1st Avenue, New York

This shop is clean, bright and lovely! FINALLY A DAIRY FREE COFFEE AND SNACK SHOP IN MIDTOWN! Coffee: if you’re going in for a coffee this place has oat milk, almond milk, and macadamia, which is super rare! I personally love the almond milk they carry – it’s way better quality than the generic stuff most coffee places serve to you. Bars: I love everything because they’re dairy free – so FINALLY I can have all the chocolate I want without fear. If I had to pick an all time favorite it would be the Carob flavor – really rich and unique! I highly recommend this place – it’s a bit out of the way on 1st avenue but so worth the trip if you’re nearby!

Queens Coffee Bar – Menu with Prices – 1720 Pegram St, Charlotte

Love stopping by this adorable cafe! It’s a super cute and quiet cafe that opened up in the Belmont neighborhood (pretty much adjacent to Plaza Midwood) I think it’s a perfect little addition to the diverse and changing neighborhood. Customer service always gets me leaving with a smile on my face even on “those” days when you really need a coffee or a pick-me-up. Let’s talk about their menu: + Lots of non dairy options such as: Soy, Almond, Hemp, Coconut and Oat Milk- this is HUGE! + Lots of different drink options such as: Teas, Coffees, Smoothies, Kombucha + Baked goods and pastries: Donuts, Cakes, Muffins, Bagels, etc (I’ve even seen Gluten Free options available!) If you love supporting local businesses, this is a must! Stop by on your way to work, heading into Plaza Midwood, before grocery shopping and it’ll be worth your taste buds! PS, the Spiced Chai Latte is my favorite drink and they make it BOMB.COM (non-dairy version, of course)

AllMyTea Cafe Menu with Prices 400 Disney Way Ste 129, Anaheim

I wanted to love this place! The cashier was so sweet and kind but my drink was very disappointing! I am lactose intolerant so I ordered a caramel latte with ALMOND milk. I was charged an extra $1 for this, which is typical. I left the area and started drinking my latte about 10 minutes later when it cooled down only to have the taste of sour burnt espresso… I am a mega coffee drinker so it bothered me, but may be fine for most casual drinkers. About 20 minutes later and half way into my drink.. my body realized.. it was made with dairy milk. Like I mentioned, I was charged an extra $1 for almond to avoid this lactose intolerance issue, but my drink was made mistakenly. I understand people make mistakes and I wish I could just toss the drink and forget about it, but after spending hours in agony over a mistake that shouldn’t have been made, I was just disappointed. Overall, this shop has a great atmosphere, great options (oat, almond, soy, coconut, or regular milks), and great friendly employees.. but I ask that they please pay more attention to their orders!!!!

The People’s Perk – Menu with Prices – 551 S Mendenhall St, Greensboro

Absolutely in love with this little coffee shop. The ladies who work here are so friendly and inviting, and the store is adorable with free wifi. Fresh baked donuts on Monday’s from donut world paired with iced and hot coffee on the regular. They also offer specialty drinks- which are freaking killer. But what gets me is the large 20oz iced coffee for $2.12 after tax. The coffee is delicious and that’s a killer deal. They offer almond milk and soy milk for the non dairy drinkers. This is my go-to coffee shop in the boro.

Kingston Tropical Bakery – Menu with Prices – 4000 White Plains Rd, The Bronx

Love the Jamaican Beef Patties from here. This is one of the top five patties I have ever had. This includes the ones from Jamaica…the real one, not the one in Queens. Was going on a patty hunt a few years ago and made hubby drive me to several places that serve beef patties. Found this one that we both like. Made the kids try them and they also love the beef patty. We are not big on chicken patties so we gave it a go the first time around. It was good but, it is not our thing. So we usually do not buy them. Most of the patrons are Jamaican American. They know good beef patties so, it is a good sign. Sometimes I get a look or two from the people because I am not Jamaican Chinese. I guess they may wonder how I know about their secret patty place…. Research baby…research.

Midtown Coffee Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1693 S Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo

NEW!! I am so excited about the Midtown Coffee Cafe, located near the deli in the Midtown Fresh grocery store. It is located in a long, sunny extension of the store, facing the parking lot. The large windows let in a lot of sun, which is quite pleasing in winter. The menu is extensive, offering both coffees and teas, as well as YUMMY-looking baked goods. Coffee goodness: you can have either chemex or drip, espresso beverages, and chai latte, vegan hot cocoa, and a matcha latte. Soy or almond milk is available for those wishing for non-dairy options. They source Kalamazoo Coffee Company beans. The special beverages this week include a brown sugar cinnamon latte, and the uber-scrumptious cardamom maple latte. The place was bustling when I went in today! There are several four-top tables, and then a long window bar with high perch stools. I don’t love that it is in a grocery store, but this part of town definitely needed a coffee shop. ? I love Kalamazoo’s coffee culture, and am happy to see our newest coffee shop. YAY!

Romeo and Cesare?s Gourmet Shoppe – Menu with Prices – 771 Orange St, New Haven

I absolutely adore Romeo and Cesare’s – and not just because everyone is so friendly! I honestly think they have some of the most delicious iced coffee in all of New Haven – and I’ve tried pretty much all the coffee shops here (Blue State, Willoughby’s, Book Trader’s, East Rock Coffee). While the exterior is not as shiny, their coffee is my go-to on most mornings – it’s strong and has nutty undertones. The coffee is self-serve, meaning you control your own ice levels and they have a wide assortment of milks (almond, soy, dairy-free, etcetc). Besides their coffee, their fruit is always really fresh. One time, I had a problem with a watermelon slice and the employee there promptly replaced the watermelon.

The Fix Drive Thru Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1445 W Auto Dr, Tempe

Dang it, this is a Good cup of Joe!! Last year I tortured myself with the usual January “Diet/Cleanse” of Whole 30. During which time it suggested that I only drink Black coffee. I have always been a Latte, Vanilla, Almond milk kinda chick. But if it’s choosing between my calories in a coffee or a burger, I will take the Meat any day. Since that cleanse I have fallen in love with the purity of Black coffee, respecting the bean, and the notes that each region provides to our morning palettes. I approach coffee like a good full bodied Red wine, smell, quality, taste, and lingering flavor. This is all great but unfortunately has turned me into quite the coffee snob. The FIX opened up in my neighborhood and I have been waiting to give them a shot. Finally the time came when I ran out of coffee at home and had no time to go to the store, I needed my Joe on the go. I drove to the FIX and instantly was impressed by the small size, and the simplicity of the Vibe. It is like Dutch Brothers for serious coffee drinkers. I looked at the menu which is full of everything you want from Standard Lattes, Mochas, Frozen coffee, Smoothies, and sweet treats. I looked over the flavors and saw Macadamia Nut which is what was in my old coffee I would get in Hawaii when I went for business. My mind was made up as to what I was going to try. I also had my daughter with me and she lit up at the sight of smoothies. I drove to the window and asked where do they get their coffee from and she whispered the best words in the Arizona coffee dictionary.. “Press Coffee” Heck YESSSSS, I knew I was in for a great experience, because I am obsessed with Press. Taste Test Americano with a hint of Macadamia Flavor-The Espresso was high quality, super smooth, with a slight punch of caffeine that is just what the doctor ordered. The Macadamia flavor transported me to Hawaii where mentally I can see the Ocean. It was nutty, perfectly balanced sweetness and no fake sugar after taste. This drink is Next Level. Strawberry Mango Smoothie-Blended to perfection, no chunks, or ice crystals. Just smooth goodness of fresh fruit. Topped with whip cream and instantly put a smile on my daughters face. Service-The Barista was so sweet, knowledgeable, and even gave me a club card to return. Customer service always ends with an invitation back and rewards, so well done FIX. This is now going to be my go to drive thru Coffee haven. Take a minute to get a way from the big chains and enjoy something small, and made to perfection.

Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 412 Delaware St, Kansas City

I’ve been to Thou Mayest three different times now, and it’s become my favorite coffee shop in the Kansas City area . There are a few different things I like about it, which I’ll go into more detail about below, but basically, the combination of great coffee beans, expertly crafted coffee/espresso drinks, good food, great service/baristas, and a cool setting all make it a wonderful coffee roastery. Here’s some deets: The beans/drinks: I usually get a pour-over here, and they have a TON of options to choose from. Their beans are all really well roasted, from the fruitier varieties to more nutty/chocolaty ones, and the pour-overs always taste fresh and expertly brewed. Their more “foo-foo” coffee drinks are also really well done too, and they even have quite a few that don’t use any milk or dairy. The food: They have a huge selection of pastries, some of which are vegan/dairy-free. They also offer about 15 different cereals (with lots of dairy-free milk options), which is a super fun treat if you don’t usually eat that kind of thing at home. The cereal/coffee combo is a great deal! The baristas/staff: really friendly, very detail-oriented, and super fast. I always love chatting with them when I come in, and appreciate how they treat each drink like they are making it for themselves. The shop: a fun, comfy, super hipster (yet functional) inside with lots of seating and a few “singles” counters (you can even sit and watch them make other drinks while you have yours), and a lush, almost tropical (well, as tropical as you can get in KC) patio out back. Overall, a great place to get some work done or chat with friends. All in all, I love this little “Crossroads” coffee roaster and cafe, and I definitely look forward to coming here every time I am in KC!

Makeworth Market Menu with Prices 1201 N State St, Bellingham

This is the kind of coffee + shop that cares about cultivating community. First time in today for a coffee and work and I was blown away by the friendly greeting and speedy delivery of my coffee which was perfect. I canâ??t drink dairy and there were so many alternative milk options. Itâ??s also my birthday so I shared with the world via IG that I was here and the sweetest lady working brought me over a piece of Vegan cake! Wow! Iâ??m not sure if they talked about the dairy free thing or not, but the gesture was enough to keep me coming back forever. Canâ??t wait for this to be my new spot. If you enjoy good coffee, creative aesthetic, and a friendly community – this is your place!

Sweet Charlie’s Menu with Prices 630 Crane Creek Dr #103, Augusta

I was so happy to find a dessert shop that had a dairy-free option! They have several bases for their rolled ice cream, one of which is vegan/non-dairy. The only flavor option that didn’t include chocolate or something else dairy was cinnamon toast crunch, so we tried that. I would have loved to try it in a donut sandwich, but that’s also dairy so we got it in a cup. They rolled it up and then let us choose toppings – we asked for extra cinnamon toast crunch (not on the menu but since it was part of our dessert they were happy to), strawberries, honey, and marshmallows. Marshmallows can be added plain or roasted, so we opted for roasted. It’s actually just one large marshmallow on a stick that is hand-roasted and added to the bowl, but still tasty and makes for a nice presentation. I’m not sure what the vegan base is – I can usually tell when something is almond or coconut based, since those flavors are really strong – but this just tasted like normal ice cream! I’d love to know what it was because it was amazing!

The Tare Shop – Menu with Prices – 5539 Cornwallis St, Halifax

My second experience here wasn’t as great. The barista used dairy milk in both my husband and my hot chocolate even though I specifically said almond milk and she acknowledged me. Thankfully hubby was watching and brought it to her attention. She wasn’t rude or anything but she said she didn’t recall us asking for almond milk. And then she changed her story and said she remembers us asking it for one but yet she made both with dairy so that didn’t make sense. She did apologize and fixed the mistake but it felt like a lot of excuses when it was clearly her mistake. And then after all that, the hot chocolate tasted bitter and awful and not like chocolate whatsoever. First experience: The Tare Shop is absolutely stunning both outside and in. Part cafe, part store\bulk foods. There’s not a lot of seating but as long as it’s not overly busy it should be fine. The cafe is small but has a nice selection of drinks and offers almond milk. They keep a small selection of baked goods and usually has at least something vegan. The coolest fact is that they are a waste free store and proudly let you know by the plastic bags and coffee cups saved by shopping there. They also sell a good selection of eco-friendly items, such as, feminine hygiene products, bamboo toothbrushes, soaps and much more. The bulk foods wall has large glass jars with everything from beans to Good Parma vegan cheese to pretzels and laundry soap. The store is clean and cozy and there’s plants everywhere which I love.
