I took my daughters ages 11 months, 10, and 14 to see Bring It Live and they loved it. If you don’t know what Bring It! Is, it’s a majorette show that comes on Lifetime network. It follows Coach D and her girls that dance and go around battling other teams. The tickets were $60 per person and I didn’t have to get one for my little one. Parking on premises was $5, but I opted to park on 8th Street, free of charge. The show started at 7:30, but the doors opened an hour earlier. Security checked everyone before getting in line and the line moved rather quickly. I had my tickets saved on my phone and the doorman scanned it and told me where to go. All in all from car, to security, to seat took about 10 minutes although there were lots of people everywhere. When walking down the hall to my designated section, you can hear the dj playing music. He had to get the crowd hyped and ready for the performance. When the dolls took the stage everyone was up out of their seats! The show had lots of lights, lots of dancing and hair whipping, flips, and moves I wouldn’t dare try. The girls gave high energy from beginning to end. The show over exceeded my expectations. I thought it would be the same old routines that you see on tv, but there was much much more. The dance captain Coach D gave a great performance as well as great inspirational speeches. She also interacted with fans in the crowd. I’m happy I decided to get tickets because my girls were ecstatic when I told them I got tickets and ever since the show, that’s all they’ve been talking about. Thanks Bell Auditorium for the great show!

CLARKSVILLE DANCE CLUB – Menu with Prices – 430 Warfield Blvd, Clarksville

I love the Clarksville Dance Club. It has been my favorite place to learn new dance styles. Patricia is an amazing dancer and instructor. She was always able to break down dance moves so I could better understand how to do it. And there is always a great group of people to partner up with. I no longer live in the area and I for sure miss dancing here.

Wild Greg?s Saloon – Menu with Prices – 4951 US-98, Lakeland

Very fun line dancing bar that replaced boots n buckles. The place is huge but doesn’t get super busy. Mainly townies and college students go here but everyone is pretty friendly. It’s fun to learn the line dance moves and someone is almost always willing to teach. There are two sides of the building, one side is line dancing the other side is a smaller area where they play hip-hop and rap. They have special events like bands and stuff on different nights. Their fb page had the info. The bartenders are super nice and they have tones of special during the week on drinks. The actually have ladies who sit in the bathroom and sell things like perfume, tampons/pads and even candy which is pretty cool and classy. They also have a bull that’s $5 to see how long you can ride (pretty popular) Very casually place though. You could go and sit and have a drink. It’s 18 and up but don’t worry about being hassled by the young ones, it’s the older townies you gotta look out for lol. Come dressed somewhat down! And if you’ve got boots, definitely bring em!

The Firmament – Menu with Prices – 5 Market Point Dr, Greenville

Well I am not sure how many stars to give since we didn’t actually see the concert. I bought tickets for a 7:00 show a week in advance. My husband and I printed off the tickets the day of, and the tickets still said show at 7, doors open at 6. So we ate early and took an Uber to the venue. We got there and nobody is in the parking lot or answering the doors. Finally a security guy opened the door and looked at us like we were crazy. Luckily the sushi place is in walking distance, so we called across the lot and called. They told me there was some mistake and the show is now only at 10. We already ate in preparation for a 7:00 show, so we only had the option of drinking for 3 hours at the sushi place until the show, which we decided was not a good idea. We were super disappointed. With fees and all, I paid about 43 bucks which was a total waste of money. Not a lot, but a waste. If I knew the show was only at 10, we absolutely would not have paid for an Uber to drop us at 7. So I would recommend you check and double check or even call before you end up like we did. The right thing to do is to email the customers who took the time to buy advance tickets and tell them that the show was cancelled.

Dayton Ballroom Dance Club – Menu with Prices – 2150 Arbor Blvd, Dayton

This is the best place to take Ballroom dance classes! The instructors are patient and helpful. They making learning fun! You don’t have to have a partner to take lessons. There are always just enough people to fill in as your “partner”. During dance classes, you rotate partners. This gives you a chance to learn from each other. Those who are more advance in some of the dances are always willing to help teach the dance to you. Everyone has so much fun! It is great exercise too! My family has actually noticed I have lost some weight–all do to dancing! Come on out and try dancing with us! You won’t regret it! I will be looking for YOU on the dance room floor!

The Blue Swing – Menu with Prices – 299 W Orange Show Rd #1a, San Bernardino

I love dancing at The Blue Swing! The instructors (Dave, Darcy and Ken) are fabulous and they continue dancing and helping you during the open dance after the group class. Everyone is welcoming and the atmosphere is comfortable, making it perfect for beginners. It was a great place for me to get back into dancing again. The studio is also really nice – raised dance floor, high quality sound system, and experienced DJ so it’s great for experienced dancers too. There’s also a full service bar and diner on site. Haven’t found another dance venue in the IE that offers everything The Blue Swing has.

Central Perk – Menu with Prices – 4000 Warner Blvd, Burbank

I came here for a “Mom” studio taping. There are lots of online sites where you can sign up for free taping tickets, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The ticket told us where to park. There were multiple show tapings going on, and lots of people were already lined up. The staff, regardless of which show they were working, were helpful to direct which line to get in. Everyone has to show their ticket and ID. Once checked in, security will stamp your hand with a special “WB” stamp that can only be verified with a blacklight. Leave your phones in the car. They check your bags and you have to walk through a metal detector. If you have your phone, they’ll collect it with your ID and you can get it back at the end of the night. This is done right before you enter the studio. We weren’t really sure what the taping would entail; not a lot of information was given other than when and where to show up. After check-in and being escorted onto the premises, we were directed where to sit in the studio and handed a program of information about the evening’s taping. The taping was scheduled to begin at 6:30pm. A little after 6pm, they played a previously recorded episode for the audience, I suppose to familiarize you with what you’re going to see. After they aired the episode, I thought the taping was done. Maybe they were just getting stuff for the laugh track? But then, they introduced the stars and crew, they came out, gave some smiles and waves, and then the taping went underway. They had three basic sets – outside in an alley, a home, and “black box theater” to film the inside of car scenes. Unless you’re seated smack dab in the middle, you probably won’t get to see them film every scene. Scenes were filmed at least twice. It was interesting to see how the actors recover when they flub lines. You’re instructed to laugh every time like it’s the first time you’ve seen it. Some scenes have already been shot. Those are incorporated and shown on overhead tv screens, when they’re recording your laughter/reaction. In between shots, the emcee called on audience members to dance and he gave out candy. Halfway through the taping, everyone was given a carryout container with one small slice of cold cheese pizza, a napkin, and a mini bottle of water. Unexpected, but a kind gesture. Overall, I liked the behind-the-scenes look of the experience, but if you’re not big on sitting around and waiting, sans phone, the whole audience taping experience probably isn’t for you, unless you’re a big fan of the show.

Charles Bach Wonders Magic Show – Myrtle Beach, SC – Menu with Prices – 1195 Celebrity Cir, Myrtle Beach

We went to the magic show tonight 8/24/2019 , it was very easy to get tickets! I walked in while at the broadway and bought two front row tickets. Our seats were 104A and 105A I loved sitting in the front row but we were all the way on the end so at times it was hard to see what was going on. They do have two monitors you can look at. But thatâ??s why we wanted front row , that way we could be up close and not have to look at the monitors. So I recommend the front row but you want to sit right in the middle. Thatâ??s my only complaint. The show was awesome , great music, it was funny, the dancing was beautiful and fun to watch the magic still has me trying to figure out how he did it!! He included the audience the whole show !!! He included little children as well as adults!! The two woman that danced with him and helped him with his magic were just stunning!! The costumes where awesome!! We will be back to see this again!!! My husband and I had a date night and we wanted todo this and now we canâ??t wait to bring our kids to see this show!! We will be coming back next weekend!!

Claire Trevor School of the Arts – Menu with Prices – University of California Irvine, 4002 Mesa Rd, Irvine

My friend and I came for the Summer 2018 showing of The Winter’s Tale, a lesser known Shakespearian dramedy that more than exceeded expectations. Theater: The theater itself is modeled after the classic Globe Theater in London with tiered seating in a ring around a central staging area. We bought Groundlings tickets for padded seats on the floor of the theater. Groundlings seats were first come, first serve so we picked seats closer to the center and had a nearly unobstructed view of the performance. Unfortunately, we were seated next to/partially under a stairway that the cast used during the performance, so our view was partially obstructed at times. That said, I loved the experience of being so close to the actors and didn’t feel that the obstruction detracted from the performance. Would caution that I am petite and could fully extend my legs, but the tall gentleman seated next to me had his legs folded during the performance to avoid blocking the actors. These seats are small and on the floor and would not be comfortable for those with back problems. Acting/Performance: Loved the retelling of The Winter’s Tale as a Victorian dramedy with actors dressed in period pieces. Most of the actors are BFA/MFA graduates or instructors from UCI giving the performance a “family” feel. Acting was top notch and the show was fantastic. Logistics: Parking is available on the UCI campus for $10 in a covered lot. We arrived about an hour prior to curtain call because we wanted to have optimal choice of seats, but since doors open 15 minutes prior to showtime, this was unnecessary. We were also told by staff that Student Rush tickets are actually open to the public and that we could come back for free tickets for the sold out Midsummer Night’s Dream production. We had seen students waiting in the Student Rush line when we arrived, so would definitely return next year to take advantage of that perk. Overall: We loved the New Swan Theater’s ambiance and performance of The Winter’s Tale. Looking forward to returning next year!

Ballroom Dance Clubs of Duluth – Menu with Prices – 4317 Abbotts Bridge Rd #2, Duluth

Very friendly instructors and staff! The studio has a very comfortable atmosphere and everyone will make you feel welcome. Whether you’ve been ballroom dancing for years or whether you’ve never danced before, they’ll make you feel comfortable and you’ll have a fun time! Lessons are tailored to your skill level, your goals, what types of dances you want to learn. They have different events throughout the year, so if you want to dance in a competition, dance a choreographed number in a show, or go on a cruise with your dance partner – you will have plenty of events to pick from! The Friday night ‘practice parties’ are great. Students of all levels come and you have the opportunity to dance with other students that are learning from the same syllabus as you. So, even if you’re new, you already have an idea of the types of moves that another student might know. The instructors (female + male) are also there (and the male instructors have dance cards), so you know you will get danced with by a professional. Wine/Beverages are included with the party at no extra cost. They have open house guest parties every other Thursday. It’s free to come with a guest. There is a group class to introduce newcomers to ballroom, then there is a party where they play music and the newcomers get to try out what they’ve learned (Alcohol is provided).

music and spirits – Menu with Prices – 2215 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg

Here to see music. Its set up like a theatre and not a music venue. Made for a poor experience. There is the stage with live music which was most excellent. Then in prime real estate are folding chairs set up in rows perfect for quiet viewing and we’ll mannered zombie audience as the band plays. Hemming in the space with the chairs are church pews emphasizing the ‘be quite’ behavior of the crowd. Behind this set up are tables for dining from the food truck. Nice but bad placement. There is a food truck who will bring you your orders which is good. Any dancing or moving to the live music has to happen on the fringes or behind the people having dinner. Nothing about this set up let’s you enjoy a crowd, to dance, or to get close to some really good live music. Such a shame. such a waste. Then after the first set the house lights got turned on. Totally killed any good vibes

New York Botanical Garden – Menu with Prices – 2900 Southern Blvd, The Bronx

We have visited the Garden a few times during various events but this was our first time visiting their “Spooky Pumpkin Garden Nights” event. We were able to snag last minute tickets for cheap via GRoupon/Goldstar for only $7 each! We received a confirmation from Goldstar shortly after our Groupon purchase. There is a parking lot there but also lots of alternate side street parking available right outside of the main entrance. We arrived at 6 PM for the 6:30 show and went to the ticket counter. We gave them our printed confirmation email and they gave us wristbands. There is a sectioned off area in the garden for the spooky pumpkin exhibit. Since we were a bit early, we were told we could walk around the garden before the event. There was also a live DJ there along with some large costumed characters. At about 6:15 you line up toward the entrance to the exhibit area and you handed out bags that you can decorate with markers and stamps. Lots of kids (and adults) were dressed up. Upon entry, you are given small flashlights. The exhibit itself was great with lots of carved pumpkins as well as some interactive areas. Some play areas and lots of places to snap that perfect photo of the kiddies. There are a few indoor areas including one where you can decorate your own mini pumpkin. There are stations throughout the path where you can stop off and get a new stamp to add to your bag and collect some goodies like chips, chocolate and apple sauce. Toward the end of the path there is the shadow puppet show which was cute. You then can create show puppets of your own using your flash lights and make your way back toward the entrance of the exhibit. The entire exhibit took us about an hour to complete. All staff we encountered were very friendly, patient and accommodating. Overall we had a great time, especially for the super-discounted rate we paid. I would love to return again next year, even at full price. Dress up and get ready for a great time!

Denver Center for the Performing Arts – Menu with Prices – 1101 13th St, Denver

Went to see Alice in Wonderland MOTH circus. Let me first state that I have been to this venue and always had a great time. Parking is horrible!!!!! The Alice in Wonderland performance was not advertised correctly and was not KID friendly. It is also the responsibility of the venue to make sure that a performance is advertised for what it is. I was thinking I was taking my young daughter to see a production that was age appropriate with some circus performances and this was not the case. I did not enjoy having to explain to my daughter why a boy was dressed like a girl. Alice was very promiscuous and did not act in a matter that a young child should see. This should have been advertised for an older age appropriate audience and the fact that this stated KID FRIENDLY was misleading. I will never go back to this venue. I did not buy tickets to have my daughter ask what a drag “queen” is and why alice acted the way she did. By not advertising correctly your organization took away my right as a parent to decide not to go to this performance and to not subject my daughter to this trashy performance. I understand others are okay and enjoy said performances and that is fine. If I signed up for a drag show or it was named Alice in Wonderland Moth circus oddities and curiosities I would have gotten the idea and I would not have purchased tickets. When conversing with a MOTH circus employee they were to stupid to get the point. My complaint is not that a boy was playing a girl roll my complaint is that the roll was over the top drag. Some of the other performers were great and did a good job and in fact the “queen” did a good job. The music was great. In conclusion I decided if my daughter goes to a Drag show no one else has that right. Do not push your agenda on small children.
