New restaurant so my partner and I decided to check it out since we are craving for Southern fried chicken. The ambiance is quite nice and romantic. The interior design is very cozy and cute. They have an outside patio with cute greenery and lights so we sat outside since it was a nice cool day. We ordered some cocktails, I got the Devereux Spritz and my partner got the Dr Feelgood. My drink was lighter with orange and prosecco which I crave for. The Dr Feelgood had a good chili kick with ginger so it was quite nice. For appetizer, we ordered the devils eggs and Mac and Cheese. The devils egg had crabs and okra so it was quite delicious and different from the traditional devil eggs I had. The mac and cheese had pesto and some nice breadcrumbs on top so it was very creamy and flavourful. Our main entree is the fried chicken with mash potatoes and collard greens. The fried chicken was super tender and juicy! The outer layer was just right and not over breadcrumbs. They had this delicious blueberry hot honey where you drizzle a bit on the food and it gives a nice tingy flavor. I really enjoyed all the food! Lastly, we got their main dessert brownies with ice cream. They recommended we drizzle some blueberry hot honey on top as well and it tasted delicious! Highly recommended to check it out. **If you decide to sit outdoor, make sure to spray some bug repellents or wear long sleeves and pants to cover yourself. Got quite a few mosquitoes bites but with the cute ambiance outdoor it was worth it. They offered us bug repellents and etc.** The service was excellent. Our host/waitress, Bridget was super attentive and considerate. She was making sure we are comfortable and enjoying our evening. Overall, I would come back again and recommend it to my friends as well.

Alice’s Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 867 W Jefferson Ave, San Bernardino

Yay! Thanks Yelpers for helping us find a breakfast spot on the way to Vegas. It was delicious, fast, with friendly service. I ordered the chicken fried steak with extra crispy potatoes (and onions and green peppers which the waitress asked if I wanted to include), eggs over medium and a biscuit and my husband ordered the fried egg sandwich on sourdough with cheese and corned beef and we shared them both. The chicken fried steak was pounded out to perfection with tasty gravy and I’m not sure what the secret ingredient in the potatoes was, but they were super yummy. I would definitely recommend the chicken fried steak with potatoes and if I’m ever in the area I would order it again. The sandwich was a basic breakfast sandwich and was good, but I would probably try something else next time. It did have lots of corned beef on it though and I used the top piece of sourdough to soak up my egg yolks and a little gravy. The place itself is dated, but clean and the bathroom although super small was also very clean. If Alice’s was in my town or even a few towns over I would certainly be a regular!

Bull’s Horn Food and Drink – Menu with Prices – 4563 S 34th Ave, Minneapolis

Friend recommended this place and claimed they have the best burger in Minnesota. I can’t say the same but it is definitely one of my top five. Burger tasted awesome. It reminded me of a tastier version of a Big Mac. Very simple – lettuce, pickle, and special sauce. It’s well worth the extra dollar to add American cheese. The fries were good – also reminded me of McDonald’s fries. I just wish it was hot and not served warm. We also ordered fried cheese curds and deviled eggs. The cheese curds were delicious. Better than what you can get at the fair. Deviled eggs were great, too. It had some sort of pickled relish thing at the bottom of the yolk. Couldn’t tell what it was exactly but it complimented the egg. Drinks weren’t special – what you can normally get at a dive bar. Bathroom is unisex. I wasn’t surprised by it, but it threw me off just a bit. FYI. Service was meh. It took our waiter awhile to get us our drinks and to come take our order, but once the order was in the food came out fairly quickly. I would definitely go back.

Scratch Biscuit Company – Menu with Prices – 1820 Memorial Ave SW, Roanoke

The biscuits are excellent, light and crumbly with a black pepper bite. The fried green tomatoes were one of the best topping I have had anywhere. The eggs and cheese selection were so disappointing, the eggs were tasteless and can only be cooked into this folded over layer that resembles rubber. In that regard, McDonaldâ??s â??round eggâ? substitute in the biscuit sandwich is a more flavorful and textured ingredient. The American cheese that comes automatically with the egg and cheese sandwich is too salty and made the sandwich inedible. Only on Sundays can you order eggs fried or poached. All in all, if I was to go back, I would do it on a Sunday and order my sandwich with an over medium egg, fried green tomato and pepper jack cheese.

Filo Pastries & Post 70 Indulgence Bar Menu with Prices 1155 Tunnel Rd, Asheville

Went one evening for a date night as one of our first nights out alone without our new baby were excited to try this place. At first walk in we were a little confused since there was no host and no sign that said please see yourself. We decide to grab a table and about 5 minutes later a server came over to great us. After she came over she was super nice, very friendly and attentive. This place appears to have an ever rotating menu which is nice but it changes every evening and there’s no place to find the current menu for that night online at least not that I can find. We started off with fried green tomatoes with some trout dip which is very delicious. It came with three fried green tomatoes cut in halves. We shared a salad with goat cheese and Mandarin oranges and bib lettuce and my wife said it was one of the best salad should have ever had and I must agree with this. Being that it was apparently southern night at post 70 I saw someone with some chicken wings and they looked pretty good. However after ordering them I realized they were actually fried like fried chicken instead of chicken wings which was not what I was expecting but they were pretty good. We also shared a large bowl of macaroni and cheese with some ham in it which was very delicious and creamy, my wife did say that the cheese resembled Velveeta which I don’t think it was but it was that creamy texture. All the food came out super fast and the drinks came out shortly after we ordered them. The staff was very knowledgeable and the place has a small local feel. Will definitely be back although I do wish we can look at the menu before we get in the car and drive over there.

Ruby Sunshine – Menu with Prices – 37 Market Square, Knoxville

A great brunch place along Market Square! This was originally recommended by the hotel receptionist and wanted to do brunch for our last day of vacation. I saw on the description of the restaurant it was a New Orleans style brunch which made it enticing to visit. We ordered the Big Easy Mimosa to start which were refreshing. My boyfriend and I were contemplating whether to order two dishes or split a main dish and a side, we were eyeing the Trifecta Benedict. Our waiter assured us the Trifecta is enough for two people so we decided to order that and a side of breakfast potatoes. The Trifecta was served with buttermilk biscuits and included the Eggs Cochon (pork w/ hollandaise sauce), Chicken St. Charles (fried chicken w/ pork tasso sauce), and the Shrimp Boogaloo. Whoa were these Benedics ever filling! They were all oh so delicious but my favorite goes to the Shrimp Boogaloo- sauteed shrimp with creole tomato sauce and fried green tomatoes. The side of potatoes were pretty basic and relatively smaller in size than we expected. My only call-out would be I wish fried green tomatoes were offered as a side or appetizer dish. It was included in some of the benedict choices but would’ve been nice to been able to order separately drizzled in sauce. I highly recommend, it will keep you satisfied and full for pretty much all day!

Boxwood Kitchen & Supper Club Menu with Prices behind Jimmy John’s, 330 SW Powerhouse Dr Building C, Suite 150, Bend

It took us a bit of time to find the cafe, it is hidden behind the main area of Old Mill, it is tucked in behind Jimmy John’s sandwich shop, but worth discovering. We sat inside, but they do have a few patio seats. Mr. B started with an old fashioned made with chai which is interesting, and it was quite good. He ordered the meatballs in a spicy sauce served over polenta. The sauce is not overly spicy, but has a nice level of heat to it and the polenta was creamy and very good. I opted for the housemade Spatzle mac and cheese. You don’t typically find Spatzle in restaurants other than German and they were tender and had a nice flavor to them. The cheese sauce was rich and creamy, the perfect comfort food and the dish was topped with toasted, seasoned breadcrumbs which added a nice crunchy texture to the dish.We were very happy with our drinks and our meal.

Country Junction – Menu with Prices – 4823 NC-55, Durham

Came here for an early brunch with a party of 2. The place wasn’t very decorative but it was a homey heartwarming mom and pops place. We were greeted with big smiles and felt right at home. For food, we ordered two breakfast plates: 2 eggs scrambled, hashbrowns, fried chicken, biscuit 2 eggs over easy, grits, country fried steak, croissant Eggs: Scrambled eggs came out very pretty in a nice uniform yellow. They also weren’t dry at all. Eggs over easy came out exactly the way I like them, too: egg whites fully cooked, but the yolk barely cooked. Carbs: Grits were very smooth and not chunky at all. They came with only a little bit of salt, and some butter, which is how I prefer mine. You can always add more salt, but harder to take it away. The Hashbrown was nice and crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Both were sizable proportions. Meats: Chicken was great. This was just like the hashbrown: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Steak was a little on the small end, but still full of flavor. Definitely preferred the chicken though. Gluten: Biscuit and Croissant were standard. The food was really good for the value, and the place was heartwarming. Definitely recommend and would come here again!

Restaurante Honduras La Pasadita – Menu with Prices – 201 S Belt Line Rd #101, Irving

We’re from Chicago, IL…I was in TX last week visiting my brother. My husband being from Honduras searched on Yelp for Honduran food. We found this small joint and decided to check it out. When we arrived, there was only 1 car in the parking lot so I thought the food mustn’t be so great I was so very wrong! As an appetizer they serve fried beans with tortilla chips. We finished it in 60 seconds and they brought us more. I ordered the juicy and perfectly cooked carne asada (steak) with fried plantains and it comes with fried beans, rice, salad, and a slice of cheese. To drink I ordered an horchata (rice milk) that was so tasty and refreshing . My husband ordered the same dish as me but ordered the fried green bananas instead (delicious!) with a banana soda. My son ordered a baleada which is the typical street food in Honduras. It’s a HUGE folded flour tortilla with fried beans, cheese, and Honduran sour cream. You can also add scrambled eggs, avocado, or meat as well. He added scrambled eggs and loved it! you can ask for the sour cream on the side so you can taste it because it has a different flavor than regular sour cream. My brother ordered the friend plantains with ground beef and cabbage on top, squeeze lime juice on it and WOW! (Mouth watering). My sister in law ordered the 3 chicken flautas dinner, those fried tacos were huge and this was their first time trying out Honduran food and they were very impressed with the flavors. The prices are reasonable. The server was very nice and friendly we told her to thank the cook (Erica) for such a delicious dinner. We’ve visited a couple of Honduran restaurants in Chicago but none have even come close to this one. We had to go back on our last day in TX It was really that good! Oh and by the way, the restaurant filled up pretty quickly on both days we were there. My brother said he will definitely be going back for more. Lucky guy!

Astro doughnuts and fried chicken Santa Monica – Menu with Prices – 2309 Main St, Santa Monica

I came here one morning during my time here at AX around opening time, 7:30am. Rodney was so nice! He answered all my questions, and I decided to get the breakfast sandwich, which is called the Works. The Works can be customized to have no egg, cheese, and/or bacon for varying price points, which was very nice. I requested mine to have no cheese, so I was charged less than $9, the regular price of the Works. At first, they accidentally brought out the Works with cheese in it. When I realized there was cheese, they were super quick to swap it out, and in a few minutes, I had my no-cheese version! The egg was pretty runny. I would have preferred both sides done, especially since when I picked up my sandwich, the egg instantly exploded. The fried chicken, egg, and bacon sandwich was good. The savory donut tasted like toasted soft English muffin. I also got a PB&J donut, which is super popular here. I love PB&J sandwiches, and this was very delicious, like a grown up PB&J, as it had jelly filling and was sprinkled with crushed peanuts. Nice music choice in the background. They were playing Gorillaz, and the songs they played were “Every Planet We Visit is Dead” and “Stylo.” I certainly recommend trying out this place in DTLA, especially if you’re into fried chicken sandwiches and donuts.

Lucile’s Creole Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2124 14th St, Boulder

This place is a cute and quaint little breakfast joint in the bustling area of Boulder. It’s located in a good area where you can closely walk to all the main streets and shops and wait while you put your name on the waiting list. I believe I came on a Saturday or Sunday for brunch with my bf and the wait was around 45 minutes. Anyways, food and interior wise, it was just aight. Nothing special and honestly kind of bland and bad. I really wanted to like this place like real bad but I didn’t. The interior was pretty cute to me, but I sat near the restrooms and so I felt a little gross. I also didn’t really enjoy the cloth napkins they had, although it seemed to fit the theme a bit more, I felt like it was kinda grimy and dirty feeling… I didn’t wanna put it near my face. The seating inside is also pretty cramped. I’m sad because I liked how I felt like I was in somebody’s home but I also felt uncomfortable being there and eating inside. The food wasn’t good to me. I got the eggs Benedict on the fish and my boyfriend got the original eggs Benedict. Both of us really didn’t like our meals that much.. the potatoes were good tho. We also got the side of beignets, and I didn’t really like them either. I thought they tasted really doughy and mine was undercooked. Also one of my poached eggs were super well done it was like a boiled egg. I showed the waiter and he gave me two new ones so that was nice, but I still struggled to finish my meal bc of the lack in flavor. I wish I could say I recommend this place but I really don’t.

Sandwich Cartel – Menu with Prices – 410 SW Oak St, Portland

WHY IS THIS PLACE GETTING NO LOVE?! I walked by for lunch today and it looked cute AF (I know, don’t judge a place by its font lol). My coworker really wanted to try their chicken BLT. I went for the Gaucho (their most popular, apparently) and I asked the cook to choose the meat for me — he went for steak. The veggies, cheese, steak…omg it was all juicy and fresh and delicious. It’s $10 but it’s worth it –large and fresh. The cashier and cook were super nice. There wasn’t a long wait. Def be back to try another sandwich. Even my vegetarian friend was super happy with his egg, avo, tomato and cheese sammie.

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken – Menu with Prices – 730 S Mendenhall Rd, Memphis

Gus’s is one of those iconic Memphis spots that every tourist flocks to. Being one of those said tourists, I naturally had to stop by. Instead of visiting the downtown location though, my friends and I came here instead. There’s lots of parking and seating so no wait for dinner, wooo!!! We started off sharing the Fried Okra. Soft, yet crunchy and coated in batter that was fried but didn’t make you feel sick from all the oil, the okra was delicious! We gobbled it right up. One of my friends and I split the Half Chicken and Mac & Cheese. I ate the dark pieces and they were tasty! Whenever it felt too oily, I’d just use the white bread to suck up all the oil, easy! The Mac & Cheese was surprisingly tasty too. An elevated, but still humble Kraft-like Mac & Cheese, just what we wanted in between bites of chicken. Although the food didn’t feel too heavy while we were eating, it definitely expanded in our bellies and we were super full on the drive home. I’m no fried chicken connoisseur, but Gus’s is super tasty and worth the hype!
