This place stays very busy, I came on a Wednesday night and sat in solo, stayed a while. Parking was no problem and although they don’t make food until you order it, they still get people their food very quickly. Not somewhere I’d go for the ambience but love the positive messages that fill the walls here, quotes on canvases everywhere… Scriptures or uplifting quotes, very cheery vibe overall. Excellent chicken teriyaki and gyoza combo. Love that they don’t douse the teriyaki in sauce, as many places do. Sauces, including salad dressing, are all on the tables and tea is free while you wait or sit in. Friendly staff. Paid ten and change for my combo without adding a drink but I’d say it’s worth it. Recommended.

Yamasaki Teriyaki – Menu with Prices – 9 Dixwell Ave, New Haven

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Yamasaki Teriyaki as an option on Snackpass. I think we just found our new favorite quick, delicious, and cheap Asian-fusion place in New Haven! The restaurant itself is clean and spacious, and the servers and chefs are all so friendly. We ordered the Chicken Bento (with comes with chicken teriyaki over a bed of rice, a side salad with citrus Asian dressing, 3 pieces of gyoza, and 3 California roll sushis) and the Chicken Teriyaki Plus (with comes with chicken teriyaki, a choice of lo mein/fried rice/regular rice) a side salad with citrus Asian dressing, and your choice of hot & sour soup or miso. First of all, the portions are MASSIVE. For under eight dollars, you can get dish that could probably last you 2 meals. Second, the chicken teriyaki is of high quality, and the meat is tender and flavorful. The chicken strips are quite meaty, and they are all well seasoned with teriyaki sauce. The rice under the chicken teriyaki is incredibly soft and pillowy, kind of gummy, which is my favorite kind of rice! We ordered the chicken bento with vegetable lo mein, which was so savory and substantial. The gyoza in the chicken bento box could have been a little more flavorful, but the outside wonton skin was crispy! California roll was standard, and a nice touch. Finally, I have to mention that the dressing on the side salad is one of my new favorites – so tangy and creamy. In addition, I didn’t expect the salad leaves to be so fresh, which was definitely a nice surprise. I will definitely be coming back again!

California Roll & Grill – Menu with Prices – 1725 Santa Clara Dr #105, Roseville

On Friday accompanied with my boyfriend, we came for dinner. I ordered the Beef Teriyaki/Gyoza Bento Box which comes with fresh tasty orange slices, a Green Salad with House Dressing and Miso Soup. The sweet teriyaki sauce against very flavorful beef soaked into white rice was a delectable combination and the gyoza was delicious as well! The salad paired with their dressing was so good and creamy I asked the waitress what’s in it, but I think she couldn’t tell me because it’s a secret recipe. The miso soup had a nice amount of soft tofu and the broth was delicious and warming to sip! The portions were large and I had to ask for a to-go box, because I was stuffed! My toddler really enjoyed my leftovers I brought home! * A brief history of Gyoza(Japanese pronunciation jiaozi) Theirs a reason why potstickers which have a history of their own, look similar to gyoza. When Japan invaded China in the 1930’s the Japanese soldiers learned from the Chinese how to make the jiaozi dumpling, being frequently exposed to the food with it’s widespread popularity there. When they arrived back to Japan in the 1940’s they taught their families how to make them and they eventually became a national food with some minor changes to the dish! I would recommend dining at this Japanese restaurant known for their of course California Rolls and Bento Boxes, I know I’ll be back to try their secret menu!

Youskyme Teriyaki – Menu with Prices – 221 NE 104th Ave, Vancouver

Our friend was in town, and we all decided to get together. We wanted the closest one to work, so we went to Youskyme. It’s a small clean restaurant at the corner of the building off of Mill Plain and 104th. We all ordered lunch special menu like Chicken Teriyaki w/ Gyoza, Spicy Chicken w/Gyoza, and Chicken & Beef Combo. I was hoping for a tender chicken. But I was a little disapponited. The flavor is bland. It is more on the sweet side. I’d love a balance taste of sweet and salty. The Gyoza was fried perfectly, but not flavorful at all. The beef was cooked just right. I didn’t enjoy the food much. The owners are friendly though.

Saki Teriyaki – Menu with Prices – 4795 E McKinley Ave, Fresno

Finally, some great Japanese food in Fresno. Not only was the food spot on in taste, and preparation but also the staff was kind and passionate about their work. My wife had the shoyu ramen which took a bit to come out, but had a delicious stock and was altogether very enjoyable. I went with the combo plate which came with their teriyaki meats including chicken, beef and shrimp. It was a little unusual to be served cold gyoza, but all temperatures of gyoza are served in different parts of the world so this is by no means a negative (I just dunked it in my wife’s ramen for a bit anyway). The meal came with a few cuts of sushi and some ginger which was a huge plus for me. We were very satisfied with their customer service and portions, and will definitely be back again!

Hilltop Teriyaki & Pho – Menu with Prices – 1000 Town Center NE, Tacoma

My husband and I tried Hilltop in NE Tacoma tonight, and were blown away! The quality, value and service is truly far and above any competitors in the area. They have a decent sized pan Asian menu, and I’ll be honest, I’m sometimes leery of these menus. But I’ll tell you what, we had Japanese and Chinese and they were both fantastic! The spicy chicken teriyaki was REAL spicy chicken – not chicken teriyaki with red chili sauce, but spicy teriyaki sauce loaded with onions and scallions. The chicken was so tender it melted in my mouth. My husband got generals chicken, and it may have been the best texture/flavor combo ever. A light tempura batter and not greasy at all. The sauce could pack more heat, but fantastic flavor! We decided to “bento” our meal, and let me tell you, these weren’t skimpy bento portions. It came with three delicately crispy gyoza’s, 4 CA rolls and salad. The salad was fresh and perfectly dressed. The sushi was so fresh with real crab. The service was attentive, friendly but not overwhelming. Overall, we thought this was a tremendous value, exceeding our quality expectations. Truly a gem in NE Tacoma/Browns Point!

GO!! GO!! Teriyaki – Menu with Prices – 10430 19th Ave SE Suite 3, Everett

After a weekend of cold weather camping, we were headed home in the late afternoon and both my husband and I were craving teriyaki. We’d tried a lot of teriyaki in the area that was mediocre, so when I saw Go! Go! on the search results, we decided to order ahead. It’s important to note that this restaurant has been renamed and under new ownership and has much better reviews that the old one! My husband ordered his favorite, chicken katsu, and I ordered the beef & chicken teriyaki combo. When we arrived, there were a few patrons in the restaurant. The person working the front (I think may have been the owner) was very efficient and friendly while handling the phone and walk in customers. I noticed how lovely & simple the interior decor was. Very inviting. When it was our turn in line the owner warmly greeted us. I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to ask where we heard of Go! Go! And thanking us for choosing them. (I’m one of those people that really prefers to go to stores and cafes where the owners genuinely appreciate the business and make the experience great.) The food had just been made and smelled delicious – but we were taking it home to eat. The katsu was so perfectly crispy with an out of this world katsu sauce. My husband said it it was better than his favorite katsu he’d had elsewhere – and trust me, that’s a high compliment because my husband is *very* hard to please. My chicken/beef teriyaki combo was bomb; the beef was thin and tender, having been tossed in a heavenly teriyaki sauce that was perfectly seasoned and not too sweet. The chicken teriyaki was very tender and juicy, and being thigh meat something I don’t typically enjoy, I was pleasantly surprised. They loaded up the dish with lots of sticky white rice. In addition, a crisp, fresh side salad with a sweet, creamy dressing was included, as well as a free can of pop. The dinner was a little pricier than average (than other places we’ve eaten for teriyaki), but you get what you pay for here in addition to great, friendly service. We will definitely be back!

Shono’s Japanese Grill – Menu with Prices – 122 S Peters Rd, Knoxville

Amazing! The Eddie’s Special ( with no mushrooms) was my very first favorite meal in Knox Vegas. The spicy beef and chicken are both marinated for like thirty-six hours before being exquisitely grilled to perfection, and served with steamed or fried rice ( I always go steamed) and mixed veggies (zucchini, onions, bean sprouts, and mushrooms). The gyoza dumplings are seriously the best I’ve ever had anywhere, bar none. And the tangy dipping sauce has just enough vinegar to really give it a kick. The side salad itself is rather unimpressive(iceberg lettuce and whatnot), but the house-made dressing knocks it right out of the park! I usually get extra dressing, and dip gyoza in it, put it on my Eddie’s Special, or just pour it all over myself (kidding, but I have taken shots of the stuff, and would most definitely do it again with a smile). My favorite is a mixture of the ginger dressing and sriracha poured pretty generously over my whole meal, but it’s honestly already amazing exactly how is served. Mixing the shrimp sauce (yummy sauce, etc..) is very popular, but I don’t do mayo, which is a main ingredient, so it’s usually not for me. Truly a Knoxville gem.

Meiga Sushi – Menu with Prices – 1379 E Highland Ave, San Bernardino

Had dinner in the middle of the week here at the recommendation of my son. The restaurant was very clean and organized. At first I thought the music was too loud but once we set down at our booth it was perfect. You could have a conversation at your table but not hear other table conversations. Husband ordered seaweed salad, suchimi and an ice tea. I ordered Bentos box with teriyaki chicken, beef, gozas, salad and tempura. Orders arrive very quickly and the waitress was very attentive. The restaurant even gave us a few shrimp tempura for free. Hubby loved his meal and said the fish was very fresh and flavorful. Seaweed salad was tangy and the dressing was tangy. I enjoyed everything except the beef teriyaki (reason for the 4 stars) the beef was tuff and had a lot of grissel, which was a bummer. But the goza, chicken, rice and salad was very good. Their ginger dressing was excellent and I ended up asking for more and poured it over my rice. We ended the meal with free ice cream. Plan to eat there again.

Cassie’s Deli & Catering – Menu with Prices – 444 Cedar St, St Paul

My coworker is slightly obsessed with the Greek salad here. Today, I agreed to see why her love for this salad is so profound. Except for I didn’t go with the Greek salad. I probably will next time. I had the strawberry spinach salad and it was perfect! The spinach and walnuts were nicely chopped. The strawberry and mandarin orange added just the right amount of sweetness. The recommended “medium” amount of poppyseed dressing dressed the salad just right for my taste. Nothing can put a damper on a salad like too much dressing. I’ll be back for more salads, including the Greek. I’m taking one star off because the setup is disorganized and causes delays. One goes up to a salad chef who makes the salad directly in front of the customer. It’s the closest I’ll come to a personal chef. Oh, and the salad came with free breadsticks or rolls! Can’t say no to those!

MJS Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1953 E 4th St, Ontario

This place I found on Yelp while staying at a nearby hotel. It is a little shopping center near Popeyes and Stayer Bros. It’s towards the end of the shopping center and a little hard to spot from the street. We walked into this place and it is a small location. The music playing was low and very soothing. The menu has a variety of different food to choose but we chose to go with the three item combo. Now most three item combos come with small portions but this spot serves you big portions. I got the teriyaki beef, chicken katsu, fried shrimp, spam and steamed rice. The combo comes with a side salad as well and the dressing on it was delicious. The food…OMG so damn delicious!! The teriyaki sauce they use was not too sweet which was perfect because sometimes the sauce can tend to be too sweet. The katsu breading perfect! The shrimp…yummy!! Normally places give you one shrimp, maybe two but this place gave five big shrimp!!! May favorite which is always my favorite is spam so I had to get a side of that with the steamed rice. The other plate we got was the same except pork katsu and teriyaki chicken…bomb. The fried rice was very fluffy. What sold me on this place was the hospitality and the customer service!! They are VERY nice and treated us very well. The lady also made us a complimentary Mango peach iced tea and it was delicious! So refreshing in this heat. PLEASE, PLEASE VISIT THIS PLACE if you have the chance!! You won’t be disappointed.

Al’s Gyros Chicago’s Finest – Menu with Prices – 5932 W Bell Rd, Glendale

I love this place. Really do. Had many dishes on their menu. I cant get enough of the Mediterranean salad with chicken. Its large and plentiful with chicken. So good. My problem is with pick up orders. When I get the salad, I ask for the Greek dressing to be on the side (so it doesnt saturate the lettuce if I were to keep for leftovers, which I do) I was told it always does. That order came with dressing on the side, so when I ordered again I didnt ask, bc… dressing always came on the side for to go orders.. that didn’t happen. I was very disappointed. But since this place is so good and despite me moving and it’s a ways further, I still come here! So I order again and specifically say please put the dressing on side. Ok no problem. I get to pay and notice I dont see the dressing. I’m given one and I go home. Start to eat and noticed the dressing is all on the bottom of the container. So sad! I wont stop coming here, but please stop it LOL! Get it together

Chicken Teriyaki Menu with Prices 2225 S Peoria St, Aurora

I moved from Seattle last year where there is a teriyaki joint on every corner. But here in Colorado there is a severe lack of true teriyaki places. I have been searching for MONTHS to find an actual teriyaki place that isn’t Asian Fusion or part of a sushi restaurant. At long last I think I have finally found it. And what’s better, the food is amazing! After craving it we finally decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed! I ordered the number 3 dinner teriyaki beef and my boyfriend had the number 1 combo chicken and beef teriyaki. We ordered to-go. The food was ready really quickly (about 10 mins) but it took me almost 15 to get there. The inside of the place is small but has a few tables to sit and eat. The portions of food are perfect and there is a great balance of rice, meat and vegetables. The beef was cooked really nicely with a great flavor and also had sauteed onions. The rice was perfect and mixed well with the beef. And I appreciate that it comes with stir fried vegetables instead of a small side salad. Overall it was fantastic and I will be back very soon!
