We love to stop into this cute little soda fountain after a hot day of hiking at Camel’s Back. The homemade ice cream always hits the spot. Just walking in, the sweet smell of waffle cones, caramel corn, and candy spikes the the blood sugar right up! The staff are of the friendliest type of people in the Valley. Always smiling! It’s clean and reasonably priced, especially for Hyde Park. Stop in and grab yourself a scoop of ice cream or a bite of chocolate. You will not be disappointed!

Afters Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 918 Spectrum Center Dr, Irvine

Having tried Afters Ice Cream at their other Irvine location (Diamond Jamboree plaza), I had an idea of what to expect. When I arrived on a Saturday night, the line stretched out to the door. Fortunately the line moved along. Pricing was as follows: 1 scoop $4.50 2 scoops $6.50 Milky Bun $6.50 (includes 1 free topping and 1 scoop of ice cream) The staff was extremely friendly and let me try as many samples as I wanted to. I sampled cookie monster (similar to cookies and cream), banana walnut, and triple c. I had previously tried Jasmine milk tea and Vietnamese coffee at the other Irvine location and those flavors were really good. However this time around I went with a scoop of the triple c (chocolate, caramel, and chocolate fudge). I enjoyed the creaminess of the ice cream that Afters is known for as well as the delicious combination of chocolate, caramel, and fudge mixed in. Overall service was friendly and helpful. The ice cream is definitely one of the better ones out there. When I last visited their other Afters location in Irvine, pricing was 10% cheaper, which I thought was already high to begin with. Now that it’s gone up by 10% I’m not too thrilled. Given the size of a single scoop and the price point, it’s over priced and it’s for that reason this place is a 3 star affair as far as I’m concerned.

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 5665 Feder Rd, Columbus

Going to throw this out there before I write the review that I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio and I’m really biased about Handel’s Ice Cream. Continue to read if you don’t mind my one sided view on this ice cream spot. Handel’s Ice Cream is one of the best spots in Columbus, Ohio. There are plenty of places to go for super fancy scoops with flavors that are way to pretentious for an or cream spot and other respectable contenders to Handel’s, but there is only one spot that I always return for a scoop. Handel’s has a good set list of flavors, Spouse Like a House and Graham Central Station are both favorites and classics. They also have a seasonal list that changes… seasonally. Plus there’s shakes, popsicles, and more to try. Also, the portion and price of a scoop is amazing. If you aren’t huge into ice cream you can always split a scoop with a friend, they’re that big. If you ever find yourself in Youngstown, Ohio and you want a scoop try the Grape, it’s an underrated ice cream flavor that gets no respect. But if you’re in Columbus, Ohio and want a different ice cream that’s creamy and delicious stop at a Handel’s and enjoy!

Sunset Swirl Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 1708 Lena St Ste 101, Santa Fe

I had never been before and was anticipating to find out what exactly had replaced La Leturia. I am very sad to say but it did not come close to the description of decent. Right off the bat the employee working there was absolutely horrid. When scooping the ice cream it was quite obvious that she put little to no back into it. The ice cream scoop was not a scoop, but more like a pathetic dome. When putting the scoop on the cone, she lightly placed it on top and did not press down to secure it. I was literally trying desperately to balance it and not let it fall, by this point I was wondering if it was something personal or if others were sharing the same issues. Sure enough, I looked over and witnessed another costumer slightly tip her cone and down fell her scoop. Even worse, the employee didnâ??t even offer to help clean up or offer a refund. In fact, I was the one who was grabbing napkins to help out! All the employee did was shrug her shoulders and watch us both struggle. In the end I left feeling completely unsatisfied and unrefreshed. I most certainly did not get my moneyâ??s worth and will not be returning #sorrynotsorry. Furthermore, I believe that if the owner/manager considered hiring some qualified employees with better manners, perhaps the place will have a shot as I do appreciate the idea of vegan ice cream.

The Neighborhood Scoop – Menu with Prices – Nine Mile Rd, Richmond

This place is one of the best things about this neighborhood. Al and Lawson have become friends because of how often we visit the Scoop. The soft serve is great and affordable for a quick dessert for my daughter, and my wife and I love the selection of Gelati Celesti. The Scoop is extremely active in the community and has begun putting on activities for families in the evenings. The staff is always polite and kind and goes out of their way to make sure your ice cream is exactly as you like it. I can’t speak more highly about the Scoop!

Recovery Cafe – Menu with Prices – 214 N Cedar St, Spokane

This is the former Peaceful Valley Community Center located at the entrance of the former Glover Field (now Red Band Park). I have been a member at the Recovery Café for a year and a half and it is a big part of my sobriety today. No judgement or Dogma here, all are welcome. The only thing they request is that you have at least 24hrs of sobriety. They are open Tuesday thru Friday in the morning to late afternoon. There are always smiling faces, hot coffee, and hot lunch served daily. Become a member here (free), and join a weekly circle group to experience the journey of recovery with friends and peers. Que Chevere! – Menu with Prices – 6-98 N 12th St, McAllen

As I said in my review for Nuri food truck, the food truck park offered nothing new and innovative when it first started. If you want to start a business and sell your product well, you better offer the public something no one else is. Now the food truck park finally has 2 unique trucks and this is one of them. The food is amazing! I got an arepa with beef, beans and plantains. When I saw plantains on the menu I was sooooo excited! It seems no one in the valley makes dishes with plantains. Being from Miami, plantains were everywhere and I miss them. This is the only place in the valley that offers me a taste of home. After my first bite I was sold. To me, this is comfort food. The meat was seasoned to absolute perfection with the correct spices and the sweet plantain complimented the other savory flavors wonderfully. The carne pastelito was delicious as well. Nice and crispy with full flavored tender meat on the inside. This place offers delicious and authentic Venezuelan food. If you’re going to the food truck park and want to try something new and different, check out this Venezuelan treasure and Nuri. You can’t go wrong with either one.

La Chula Michoacana – Menu with Prices – 100 S Main St #4841, McAllen

Very disorganized in how the employees worked. There was no order in how to serve people efficiently. and the customer service was not there. It is spacious and clean but boring choices of ice cream. Nothing the makes it stand out that much. It was very expensive. For two cups of corn and a scoop of ice cream it was $11. That’s ridiculous in my opinion. Not sure we will be back.

Sundae’s Homemade Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 9922 E 79th St, Indianapolis

While in the area, I saw this place on Yelp and decided to stop in before lunch (shameful, I know!) This local shop has been in business going on 25 years and I can see why. They had friendly servers and a wide variety of flavors of ice cream. They also offer lots of coffee options too, but I didn’t explore those. The shop is located in a strip mall just east of the intersection of Fall Creek and 79th (it becomes 82 on the other side of the stop light.) Plenty of parking out front, so I grabbed a spot and wandered in. There is a dining room at the front and along the right side. On the left is the order counter where you can see the buckets of creamy ice cream and the wall full of flavoring options for your coffee. Note that as you face the order counter, your spoon and napkins are behind you towards the door if you need them. I saw a sign out front that was featuring the key lime pie ice cream, so I got a taste of that before ordering. I liked the creamy texture and the bits of crust/cookie inside the ice cream rounded out the flavor and helped balance the sweet/tart tastes of the ice cream. Very good and reasonably priced. It was nice to be able to grab a seat in the dining area and relax while enjoying my ice cream. The place was clean and organized. Review #2952

ONE STOP NUTRITION 59TH/101 – Menu with Prices – 20329 N 59th Ave, Glendale

Definitely the best One Stop location in the valley! Yes there shakes are amazing. Yes the supplements they offer are great and are reasonably priced. But that’s not what makes this location the “BEST”. It all comes down to staff in my eyes, and the manager at this location is phenomenal. She is so knowledgeable and she actually takes the time to hear what your goals are and she’ll point you in the right direction! Not a pushy salesperson just trying to sell product, it really feels like she cares and does her best to help. Couldn’t be any happier with my experience at this location. You got a customer for LIFE!

Helados El Sol – Menu with Prices – 2418 NE 28th St, Fort Worth

I was so excited to find an ice cream place so close to my boyfriends house. Nestled in a little shopping center you might miss it while driving by but it’s a couple of doors down from Tres Betos. The store is lined with two freezers filled with a variety of ice cream popsicles, the flavors range from creamy to fruity and some with fruit and chili. There is another freezer that has mini popsicles and they were just so adorable you won’t be able to stop yourself from getting one for your kids. You can also purchase ice cream by the scoop in a cup or waffle cone. There is a menu lining the wall where they have corn in a cup (elote) and various other Mexican snacks. I came around 8pm on a Sunday and the service was so helpful, while the store was clean. They make all ice creams in house which is nice. I got two ice cream popsicles for $2.50 or $1.25 each. So this is where the 3 stars come in. I got the oreo popsicle and the mango chili. The oreo at first bite tasted a bit like coconut and it wasn’t until a couple of bites later that it tasted like the regular cookies and cream/ oreo. My friend that had the mango chili enjoyed that there was mango chunks in the popsicle but was wary because it tasted of pineapple. I love that this shop makes their ice creams in house but I know of many people with food allergies and I would never risk taking them here knowing that there’s a high chance for cross contamination. Overall I enjoyed my oreo popsicle, and I would return, but I wouldn’t bring people who may be allergic to certain fruits here.

Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream Menu with Prices 10045 NE 1st St UNIT CU2, Bellevue

Ok, I admit it, I might have a love affair with ice cream. Like sometimes, I’ll cancel plans simply because I find it way more enjoyable to sit at home watching Gary Vee entrepreneur’s YouTube videos & indulging in one of these hipster ice cream shop’s take home pint than to have to engage in small talks with a boring romantic prospect in the millennial age where dating is doomed anyways. At least ice cream will always be there for you. And trust me, it stays here…in your stomach making it impossible to have a 6 pack. There’s only 2 flavors I always get whenever I stopped a Molly Moon’s, either salted caramel or Yeti, or sometimes I’ll do a split scoop of both if I’m being indecisive. Their honey lavender is a super popular choice. There’s usually one or two vegan options too. This new location is right across from Bellevue Park facing the kid’s section. It’s a very small location, there’s zero seating. Wonderful for a quick grab & go type of deal if you’re walking your dog, but good luck finding a bench outside when winter rolls around to consume your ice cream. Whatever, I’m happy there’s a closer location to me. Drove by it when it first opened and the line was longer than my list of qualities I want in a person, there was just no way I was going to get in before closing time, it was literally a block long. Came by on a Sunday night, there’s was still a line, but wasn’t bad at all. They have somebody standing outside with samples to make the process go faster. Expect this place to be busy regardless of what season it is since it’s a staple to Seattle’s destination. Ron’s Gourmet Ice Cream and Twentieth Century Bowling Alley – Menu with Prices – 1231 Hyde Park Ave, Hyde Park

Amazing! Who knew that such yummy ice cream could be found in this bowling alley? 1) vanilla sundae with pineapple and walnuts-unlike every other place that gives you huge chucks of walnuts, they are so finely chopped (think slightly bigger than sesame seeds) so you can get a nice bite of everything with each scoop 2) pistachio ice cream-perfect 3) rum raisin ice cream-way better than Hagen Daas 4) ginger ice cream-not too sweet not too spicy. Just 100% delicious High quality ice cream at very affordable prices. Since we were taking this to go, they were nice enough to give us cones, chocolate sprinkles and of course spoons. I got a kiddie cup and it was enough for 2 servings! My friends got the regular size cups and they too could not finish. The staff here are so friendly and helpful. Now that I know this place exists, I will definitely be back.
