I went to fuel juice bar today and ordered some lunch to go. I went with my friend Emily and my sister Morgan. We all ordered something different. Emily ordered a açaí bowl which is always phenomenal. My sister ordered the tuna sandwich which was also very good. I wanted to order the chicken fajita bowl but I was told that it would be a while and if I was willing to wait. So instead I ordered the salmon bowl and I was less than impressed by this dish. Even after not getting the dish I wanted and settling for my second choice, we still waited approximately 25 minutes to get the food and it wasn’t crowded. The lettuce in the salmon bowl was clearly not washed and every BITE was grainy and inedible. They have good food but I wouldn’t recommend the salmon bowl. Sucks I wasted my time and $16 for something I can’t even f***ing eat.

Cajun Commander Cafe & Catering – Menu with Prices – 206 E St Mary Blvd, Lafayette

Emily and Ryan catered my sister’s wedding this weekend, and I couldn’t be happier! They did exactly what I asked for and exceeded my expectations! The set up was beautiful!!! The food was delicious!! Great feedback from our guests! Emily and Ryan made our event so easy and we’re wonderful to work with from day one! I highly recommend Cajun Commander Cafe and Catering and will use them for any future catering needs!

Good Kitchen + Market – Menu with Prices – 116 Margaret Ave NE, Marietta

I really wanted to like this place. I have a new baby and don’t get to get out much, so to have a disappointing experience was a major letdown. Our server (didn’t catch her name) was ok- we ordered a bottle of wine- the bartender came over and opened it and she just plopped it in the table. I’ve never been to a restaurant that didn’t do wine service. Why am I expected to tip you on a bottle of wine if you don’t pour the wine initially and then continuously throughout the meal? We ordered the Thai meatballs and salmon piccata. The meatballs came with a produce sticker right in top of the dish from a pepper or zucchini. Which leads me to think it probably wasn’t washed in the first place. The zoodles were soggy and the whole dish lacked flavor. The salmon piccata was just ok. It was well done – we asked for extra capers and they put them straight out of the jar in a ramekin on the side. Why would we want cold capers on the side of a dish that has cooked capers in it? The salad was like a leftover hamburger toppings salad. Romaine lettuce, tomatoes and red onion. It needs cheese or nuts or something else. When we got our bill, I noticed we didn’t receive 50% off the rosé wine (a special I saw on their Instagram that they hadn’t communicated with the server, btw). I mentioned it to our server and she argued that she had already done it. I said again that it was clearly not right on the bill.. with attitude, she says “I’ll go fix it again.” Ok. Overall very bad experience and would not recommend. Your staff needs much more training and the food needs help.

The Richmond – Menu with Prices – 695 Bay St, Staten Island

I am always a fan of new places on Staten Island, I hope for a day when I can stay on the Island and have great food rather than travel to Brooklyn, Queens or Manhattan. The Richmond comes pretty close. My sister found The Richmond and we decided to bring my father there for his birthday. We ordered the following French Onion Soup – This was the thickest French Onion soup I’ve had. They need to rename this to Thicc French Soup (oxymoron I know). It was pretty good, but if you finish it, there is a slim chance you will have any room left for anything else. Octopus – I personally wasnt a huge fan of the dish, but my family loved it. Especially my mom, and it wasnt even the octopus she loved, she loved the chickpeas. Beef Tartar – Telling people the beef you use is Kobe is not a good thing, Kobe means nothing if you are an avid steak person. One bite into the tartar I knew this beef was nothing special. Should skip this. Short Rib Mac & Cheese – this was the highlight of the night. Loved they used wheels instead of traditional elbow or any hollow pasta. There was not a significant amount of short rib but it was decent enough to give the M&C some extra flavor. The cheese selection was excellent as well as it gave the M&C a nice seafood-esq flavor. Kansas Ribs – just skip these, these shouldnt even be on the menu. This is that menu item that kills a restaurant and allows people to believe this is a mediocre spot. Mom ordered the Salmon which she raved about. The Richmond is the first restaurant to ever ask her how she wanted her salmon to be cook. She opted for medium rare and they cooked it to perfection. Sister & Dad ordered the steak, the fries were good and the sauce on the steak was interesting. However the steak was an average steak Overall the meals were good, the server was nice and took care of use really well. The thing that stood out to me was the menu. See pics. I hate it when I see some kind of residue on the menu. Reminds me of places like Miller’s or Applebee’s, its kills your appetite especially when you’re OCD about things being clean (I know the irony in this statement, especially when someone like myself likes to go out to eat, but out of sight out of mind)

The Good Fish – Menu with Prices – 1956 N Placentia Ave, Fullerton

THE GOTO for some sashimi bowl. Forget all the poke bowl with their chopped fish. These thick generous slices on the sashimi bowl is legit. We get our sushi fix for dinner, now that it’s not as feasible to omakase on random weeknights (being parents & all). Also, it’s a great place to pickup quality food when when family & friends are over. kids approved I’m always ordering All salmon (customized to include the veggies/ toppings) for myself, the extra salmon sashimi bowl (about $3 more) for the husband, & my kids get the yellowtail collar. They love it, and always by bummed when it’s sold out. The baked salmon is a great alternative , & they’ve tried the chicken bowl. Great portions, quality ingredients, and well priced. All of it We’ve gotten the chirashj bowl, & actually a Fav if my mom’s. It includes all the fish they sell- salmon, tuna, albacore, butterfish, scoop of spicy tuna. She does say the salmon is her Fav, tho!! So, Thinking she prefers the salmon bowl, that’s what I ordered today. Then she wonders where the other fish are. Hahahaa My fav touch is the sauces offered. That house garlic is amazing, & you can’t go wrong with the “good sauce”. I truly like the ponzu they provide with the yellow tail collar. Wish my kids can enjoy it too, but they’re always looking for teriyaki. Haha They also have rolls, burritos, ramen, other cooked proteins. Plenty of seating, large parking lot (that can get crowded), space is clean. Also, to attest to the customer service, once my order was done wrong. They more than made up for it! Thank you THE GOOD FISH!

Oregon Lox Co – Menu with Prices – 4828 W 11th Ave, Eugene

I first came to the Oregon lox company last year while driving from Florence to Eugene. We stopped in and got a 1-pound package of Nova lox for $14. Subsequently, we drove to San Francisco while returning to San Diego. In San Francisco in the Farmers Market at the ferry building on Sunday, the same exact package of locks from the Oregon lox company was $90! The fish here is outstanding. Today, when I went, my six-year-old daughter entered the store hating salmon and holding her nose. Thanks to Ning, who helpfully offered my daughter and I samples of every kind of locks that they sold, Emily left the store loving salmon and wanting more! She now brags that she likes more Seafood then her sister because of this. All this, and certified kosher, of course.

Harbor Seafood Buffet – Menu with Prices – 12761 Harbor Blvd I-1, Garden Grove

Where do I start…. Well my biracial family came in and immediately got dirty looks. Didn’t even get greeted when we arrived. Every move we made the employees were STARING. We waited about 20 minutes to get a cup of water. We came for the Crab legs mostly they barely ever refill it. They were submerged in water and soaking wet. The lettuce was not washed and had dirt still on it. I barely ate anything because of a loss of appetite. I’m allergic to pork and mistakenly ate pork skewer thinking it was chicken due to mislabeling. It was also my sisters 13th birthday and she got a bowl mandarins and Said they tasted funny when I tasted them they were completely SPOILED. The ice cream was melted. All the meat was questionable. The snails were green and molded. When we talked to the manager she laughed and then she offered to take off $7 off of our $70 bill. We didn’t even eat. DO NOT come here if you don’t want to be treated like TRASH and possibly food poisoned. I’m usually not the type to post something like this but this was absolutely awful!

Lic’s Deli & Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 11 NW 5th St #1601, Evansville

Very slow. If you order soup and get toast, you are required to pay for a package of two saltine crackers. Seems sort of a stretch to me given I have paid for the soup and waited almost 20 minutes for it. The staff that informed me I needed to pay for the crackers was also pretty rude about it and acted like I should just know that. I did not realize it was common practice to charge for saltines. The toast that came with my sandwich was burned and hard as a rock. And my soup was entirely too hot. On a separate note, the drink nozzle fell off into a customer’s glass while they were filling it and they did not pour the drink out and start over. I found that a lit unsanitary. Edit- tried again on 10/24/2017 through drive through. Cashier was rude. I waited approximately twenty minutes in the drive through. “with chips” meant I got approximately ten chips. My order was also wrong. I ordered a spicy ranch beef quesadilla and received some kind of chicken quesadilla. It’s my fault for trying again after the last visit was so bad. I enjoy other locations. This one is just bad. I’m done with this location. Rude staff and incorrect orders cannot be overlooked repeatedly.

Pho Tre Bien Cafe – Menu with Prices – 12302 Montana Ave #502, El Paso

So i really wanted to give this place 4 stars at least but i both me and my husband agree that the banh mi and the small bowl of pho that comes with the pho and banh mi combo are just not as good. I am however super impressed by their options and based it off a cafe theme with their nice spread of desserts and coffee. I tried their japanese cheesecake to go a while ago and although tasty, it was a bit too dry and thrist inducing for my liking. They also have this nice brunch option of skillets and this is where they offered half a bahn mi and a mini pho bowl option. It can only have the special viet ham banh mi for this option which i can understand why. It wasnt my favorite choice of meats. I was at least able to get the brisket option for my mini pho bowl but there wasnt much meat neither compared to the 5$ mini bowl options at the other locations. My husband stuck to his beef banh mi as usual. He did not like how the bread was prepared here. It was too toasted to the point of stabbing himself on his lips from the bread. Perhaps they needa make sure they dont use bread thats too dried out already. Well they also offer military discounts on Monday at least so maybe if we would be in the area that day, we may go back.

El Torito Nuevo – Menu with Prices – 1175 N Tustin St, Orange

We came in tonight for my sister’s birthday and her graduation. We were seated promptly in 15 minutes on the patio on a busy night. We waited twenty minutes and I got up to grab nearby menus. After about 25 minutes I got up and informed the manager kindly of the situation. Someone came over for us and took our drink order and food order (family of 5) all water with lemon and a pina colada for the birthday girl! We waited about 15 more minutes for our waters. After about 20 more minutes before we received our food. I was a server for 8 years so I know how hectic things can get. Our servers were great once they came around but the care/concern did not appear to be there from the management team. Typically my father would cause a HUGE scene but I kept requesting that he didn’t. Thankfully, we got out after almost 2 hours and we were full on chips and took our food togo. ? The team was nice enough to sing for my sister and make her feel special. It saddens me to know that people seemingly have to be irate if they need to be noticed. Thank you to our servers for trying to make the best out of a situation that shouldn’t have occurred in the first place!

FreshFin Poké – Menu with Prices – 502 University Ave, Madison

After taking a workout class with my sister, we were really craving a healthy, fresh dish for lunch. Despite it being winter in WI and negative degrees outside, poke was calling our name. Normally, Miko Poke has been my poke place, but we wanted to try a new poke placed today (though, not exactly new as my sister and I have had FreshFin in Milwaukee before). Nonetheless, just like the location in Milwaukee, Madison’s FreshFin is a great place for poke. Clean, modern aesthetic. I love that their condiment bar has a selection of Furikake (Japanese Rice Seasoning) to choose from to add to your poke as desired. I had the Spicy Tuna Signature Bowl. My BF had the Coconut Curry Shrimp Signature Bowl and my sister had the Kailani Signature Bowl. All signature bowls are customizable, which I appreciated. Huge portion sizes (I could barely finish the regular size, was super full and probably would’ve been better off saving some as leftovers). Fresh ingredients. My Spicy Tuna bowl had a tad bit too many jalapeños for my taste, a bit overpowering for me given the delicate flavors of the tuna and all the other ingredients. Next time, I think I would either ask for less or no jalapeños and just rely on the siracha aioli for the spice factor. We also ordered the truffle crab salad, which sounded delicious, but honestly was a bit underwhelming. The ingredients were really fresh, but the flavors were lacking. This doesn’t factor into my rating, but this location is not super convenient for me as I don’t live downtown and it’s hard to find street parking. However, if I were ever in the area again and looking for a fresh, healthy meal, I would definitely keep FreshFin in mind!

South Vietnam House – Menu with Prices – 1623 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg

South Vienna house is really good however the first and last time we went was not a good experience. While we ordered our sever couldn’t tell us what sauce was on a salmon dish that was to be ordered, all she kept saying is that the salmon is good. we sat at our table no refills, nobody asked us if we were doing ok soon as it was time to pay someone came to ask us if everything was ok. We got there before the late dinner rush so we basically had the restaurant to ourselves and still service sucked. The menu has a lot of veriety and the combination Pho AND salmon dish was really delicious! The tables were kept cleaner than most and places and the bathrooms weren’t bad. I would go back but just to order out.

Roku bar + bites – Menu with Prices – 610 Somerset St W, Ottawa

TL;DR: great service, tasty food, cool atmosphere. My family was staying nearby so we decided to pop in for dinner. It was nicely decorated and set up but the music didn’t quite suit the place (pop music, like Ariana Grande. A little too clubby). There was only one other patron but we went on a Wednesday right when they open (6pm). They had a full bar and my sister ordered the ‘Diced Pineapples’ cocktail. Although quite interesting (included fresh basil) it wasn’t her favorite. We also ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio which was very nice. Our food took about 45 minutes to come out and it came out two dishes at a time every few minutes. We ordered the wings, Lao meatballs, gxstr (pronounced gangster) pork and big mak gyoza, chicken skewers, phuket fries, and a vegetarian ‘off the menu’ dish. Everything was absolutely delicious! We tried each other’s food and it was all very good. My only complaint was the wait time for food considering the restaurant was not crowded. My Canadian family said they would come back again!
