A 5 star gas station? YES! Imagine walking into your favorite go to gas station. You walk in, get a pop or maybe a snack and you get to the register and you pay for your items. You know that you are paying higher prices than you could if you went to a big box grocery store, but it’s “convenient”, right? Well, think about paying the “Everyday Low Price” of Walmart inside that “convenient” store. That’s right, at Walmart’s fuel station you get Walmart prices… Need milk? $1.88 not $2.99 like other stores! Also, they have fun stuff from the main store such as: Deli food, yogurts, eggs, bakery items– all at the low Walmart price. They have everything that traditional stations have plus more, but lower prices. I am a fan of Walmart Fuel Stations!

Walmart Bakery Menu with Prices 300 S Belair Rd, Augusta

I really wish I didn’t like the Walmart Neighborhood Markets as well as I do. Walmart is notorious for putting these little markets in, running all of the local business out, and then leaving food desserts. That said, you can’t beat the prices and the convenience of these stores. It is a real quandary for me. This particular store is always well stocked and has a nice supply of produce, fresh meats, and dairy, as well as a nice sized deli and bakery. The one thing I really like about these little markets is that the parking lots are always clean and well maintained. So – if you need to pick up something quickly and can stomach the politics of Walmart, you’ll find a nice little market here. If you are a staunch believer in shopping local, this is not the store for you.

Sam’s Club Bakery – Menu with Prices – 6781 Grayson Rd, Harrisburg

I recently received a survey from Sam’s Club. I responded that I thought they had priced some of the products a bit too high recently. Someone from Sam’s emailed me to explain that they price “competitively” and they price match. I really don’t expect to have to “price match” at a store where I pay a membership fee. I expect their prices to be better than the local grocery store. One of the items hit with a recent price increase was Wright bacon. Yesterday, instead of going to a local grocery for a better deal, I grabbed a package while picking up other items at Sam’s. When I got home and separated the packs, I found the “use by” date hidden inside. The bacon expired the day before I bought it. I won’t be able to use the bacon by the date on the pack without the help of a time machine. Maybe they have one at Sam’s? I think Best Buy carries them, so maybe Sam’s will price match. It’s simple Sam’s Club…if you price the product too high, people won’t buy it and it expires. At least have the class to pull the expired food off the shelves. Update: The prices just keep going up. They’re not even trying to be a membership club now. Save your money, go to Costco. Update 2: Even the gas prices here are no longer any better than more convenient local gas stations. There really is no reason to pay a membership fee to belong to this store. Save money and shop elsewhere.

Wegmans Bakery – Menu with Prices – 6143 Peach St, Erie

Wegman’s has a reputation for being the best, and most snobbish grocery store in town. They would prefer not to be thought of as the latter, but that’s what happens when you attract the most financially well to do (and judgmental) in the area. One of the Yelp reviewers here was actually worried about being judged by other Wegman’s posters because she was going to be critical…SMH. I personally don’t shop at Wegmans much anymore since I don’t live close and don’t find value in shopping there. For example, Aldi’s produce quality, surprisingly, is just as good and they are consistently 1/2 the price. Price Rite and ECF are way cheaper on meat and deli items. Food Quality 5 stars, although, I don’t care for their vacuum sealing of their fresh meat. While convenient, the taste and texture of the beef and chicken are not as good as regular packaging. It extends the shelf life and helps you portion items, but the quality suffers from the vacuum. Bakery 5. My favorite thing they sell is their bread, it’s top notch. Food Court 3. Great subs, but a very expensive hot/salad bar that you shouldn’t pay $8.99 a lb for. Go ahead, pay $8.99 a lb for rice in noodles if you think that’s a good deal. So many of those items are not worth the price if you stop and think about it. Selection 5. They definitely have a great selection of just about everything, including beer. Prices 2. Sure, if you buy family packs or store brand items, the price is good, but almost everything else is way overpriced. For example, they have a cream cheese display where they sell bagels, if you read the price per lb, cream cheese is $7 a pound. Sorry, but that’s a ripoff. The Deli (entirely due to price) 1. It is insanely expensive. If money is no object, great, but if you truly care about getting your money’s worth, it’s not at Wegman’s deli. If you read the comments, the majority of people that praise Wegmans don’t mention prices, there’s a reason for that. I can’t speak to organic and gluten free items, but people that buy these foods are used to paying more. As someone who constantly monitors and shops food prices locally, Wegmans and Giant Eagle are both overpriced stores, period! Customer Service 2. I have had cashiers give me incorrect change on more than one occasion. How? The POS does the math for them. That may just be a sign of the times though. Additionally, I can’t stand the wonky checkout counter (weirdly designed) and checkout process. With all those employees you would think they could bag your groceries “and” place them in your cart. They don’t unless you ask. Now I know someone is going to contradict me on this and say that they do, but “every” time I have been there, at least 20 times it “has” been the case.

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 2711 Elm St, Erie

ended up walking out of Walmart today. I go in there to get sugar free French vanilla creamer and they have absolutely none but their own brand. And I say well and move on and look for spaghetti. Everyone else’s brand was much higher than Walmart’s brand and even higher than supermarket stores around Walmart. So I say forget that one as well. I move on and go look for alcohol pads. I get over there again no other brand except Walmart brand available. Walmart brand alcohol pads are no good additionally it was a very small box for the price. So I walked out. It’s come to the point where they push all of their stuff at a normal price and higher all of the name brands so you feel pressured to buy theirs in order to save money.

Sprouts Farmers Market – Menu with Prices – 1240 S Signal Butte Rd, Mesa

Sprouts tend to be on the smaller side of grocery stores, more along the lines of a neighborhood Walmart. This location is no exception to the size rule. It is a brand new location having opened in the past couple months so everything is super clean, very new and still beautiful. This location has an outside enclosed seating area as part of its little cafe eat in area. The store is laid out pretty nicely in regard to shopping. At the front you have thd bread section, then the deli area, the fresh meat area, then produce, then freezer area on the outside perimeter. In the center area you have bulk goods, additional produce. In a corner on the opposite side of the front of the store you have the section for cleaning, beauty, etc. Next to the freezer area is the section for dry goods. The store was very clean, everyone seemed to be doing their assigned responsibilities, and everyone appeared happy. I needed assistance finding some things and the employees were cheerfully helpful. I found the prices to be on the higher side for many of the exact same product at other stores. I really dislike when stores do this. Overall everything was very fresh. I still needed to go to another store to finish shopping for additional items I needed or that that just didn’t carry due to their smaller store footprint.

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 408 Tiny Town Rd, Clarksville

Let me just say after the worst most humiliating experience at another Walmart in town the ladies here where gracious enough to accept my return even though the items where from a super store and not carried there. They where super nice and friendly and very apologetic about my unfortunate experience at another Walmart. The young lady where I took my return was so sweet and kind and not even irritated about having to take back a few dishes. I will be purchasing my food items here from now on with friendly staff. Thank you ladies for not making me drive so far to do what the previous Walmart failed at and tried to redeem the Walmart vibe. I am not a huge fan of having to go to Walmart super centers but they carry items I collect in my kitchen. I will just head over to the kind folks at the KY for those items ? Thanks ladies again!

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3001 W Broadway, Columbia

I come to this Walmart location only if I’m in the area. Convenient as always, the set up on the market side (grocery side) is actually different than what I’m used to, taking a longer time to find what I need. One thing I do like about this location is there are two self check out locations on either end of the store. The rest of the store is pretty much standard. Employees are you’re average Walmart employee, nothing spectacular and if you need help good luck.

ABC SELECT SPIRITS – Menu with Prices – 303 W Fairview Ave, Montgomery

This store has medium variety of alcohols and mixers in stock. The prices are comparable to other local package stores. And their hours are convenient. My only beef (which is not with the store) is that I have been looking all over for Jack Daniels green apple whiskey. I posted a question here asking if this store has it, and someone replied yes. When I went to the store I found out, they do not carry it.

Hutton Marketplace – Menu with Prices – 2 Hutton Centre Dr #101, Santa Ana

Convenience market with deli kitchen in the back~ They are the newest addition at the Hutton plaza circle and I welcome this new addition. From simple everyday convenience items to alcoholic beverages, they have wide selection of choices. You need to know convenient store pricing is little higher than at your mega name super stores. Given that, they’re pretty reasonable with the prices. We had dropped in couple of times for beers before. Never thought about trying out their food but one morning, decided to order breakfast. Do not expect some gourmet meal! This is a quick and easy meal~ They are very generous with the portion. Hubs ordered the burrito and I had the breakfast bowl (both all meat). Also added cheesy tater tot fries to share (this is huuuuuge). The salt level is high (of course with all the processed meats in the food) but prepared hot and fresh off the griddle! It was filling and convenient! There are tables places outside so you can sit outside and enjoy your meal. People who work there are very nice and friendly. If you work or live near by the store, definitely a convenient location to drop by for all your little quick needs for stuff you forgot to get at big markets! Parking is sorta limited and hard to find at their busy hours.

The Market at Preston – Menu with Prices – 601 Preston Ave, Charlottesville

Nice little store & Exxon gas station. We popped in for fuel, ice for our travel cooler & a car wash. Our poor car is filthy driving through the mountains & country. The store has a little kitchen/ food with a pretty substantial menu- including fried chicken. Not that I’m a gas station foodie- but it smelled good! My car is currently sighing in relief for the bath as I’m sitting in the car wash writing this review! Easy in and out on the corner location!

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 800 E Nolana Ave, McAllen

Love it. Very convenient and easy to get a few items and get out relatively quickly. Also, for being a smaller Walmart, they have a pretty impressive selection of grocery items.

Krispy Crunchy Chicken – Menu with Prices – 1475 Dover Rd, Clarksville

It’s inside the Sudden Service gas station/convenience store. I read an article on USA Today about this chain, Krispy Krunchy Chicken, with over 2000 locations over the U.S., mainly in gas stations or convenience stores. It is surprisingly good, with a crisp, yet light and flaky skin. I could just barely make out the cajun seasoning. It’s not very spicy at all. For a quick fried chicken fix, I’m coming back here. I like Popeye’s, but it’s waaayyy farther from me.
