I finally got to try Burgermaster after driving past it almost everyday from work and wondering why there are so many people there at all times during the day. I can now see why this place is popular. I like the old school feel of the place- you park your car and someone comes up to your car and gets your order. It is definitely a nice change from going through your typical drive thru. The service was great and the food came out promptly. You have the option of either eating in (in your car) or getting it to go. In terms of food- I ordered the Mushroom Burger and added onions. The burger tastes homemade and despite the fact that it is a fast food place, it tasted fresh and reminded me of taste of a burger when you grill it in your backyard. The fries were very good- nice and crispy, not overly salted, great potato flavor (I know that is a silly description, but some fries taste overly seasoned and you can’t taste the potato as well). If I had anything to compare Burgermaster with, it would maybe be Five Guys burgers. I can easily seeing myself coming here for some good burgers, fries, and milkshakes. No nonsense, simple, but tasty.

The Rawls Course – Menu with Prices – The Rawls Course at Texas Tech, 3720 4th St, Lubbock

I visited Lubbock yesterday and the first thing I did when I got there was meet my brother at The Rawls Course – Texas Tech’s very own golf club. Neither of us had eaten lunch yet and we were both starving, so we decided to try Jerry’s Grill located inside the clubhouse. I ordered the Stubb’s burger ($6.50) – a 1/3lb. hamburger that’s been grilled with BBQ sauce, melted cheese, and topped with two fried onion rings. It also comes with french fries. Oh man, this burger was good! Succulent patty soaked in Stubb’s very own BBQ sauce. I love the fried onion rings on top because they lend a new crispy texture to every bite. The french fries were crispy and not overly salted. I like that they still had the skin on them. Everything was just.. great! Besides burgers, Jerry’s also has a bunch of fresh sandwiches and salads and earlier in the day, they serve breakfast too. Afterwards, we were supposed to hit some golf balls, but who can play golf after eating all that? That’s why I recommend you play first and eat afterwards. Reward yourself after a long, hot day of golf with an ice cold beverage and one of Jerry’s excellent burgers.

MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes – Menu with Prices – 5365 Alton Pkwy A2, Irvine

MOST RECENT UPDATE: After Mooyah kindly reached out to me again and sent me a gift card to try their burgers again, I decided to change my review from 1 star to 3 stars. The food was better and came out fresh. We had the double cheeseburger, Mushroom Swiss burger, sharable fries, and the Oreo milkshake. The double cheeseburger was a solid good burger and the oreo milkshake was creamy and had lots of oreos mixed in. I also like how they use a potato bun. It’s super soft and goes well with the meat. The Mushroom Swiss burger on the other hand was very bland. It felt like it was missing something like an aioli sauce or something to bring out the mushroom flavor. I’ve had a lot of mushroom burgers and this is by far the blandest. And the fries! The fries omg it wasn’t as hot or crispy on the outside compared to other burger joints. Didn’t taste fresh at all. Still tasted like it was sitting under a heat lamp. They do give a lot though! Overall, the double cheeseburger and the oreo milk shake were the best. I think they need to work on their other burgers a little bit more and definitely on the turn around rate for the fries. You need to have good hot fries to eat with a burger! Not bad Mooyah, you got some good potential. UPDATE: So apparently the owner of Mooyah, Ron Camera reached out to me and told me he would send me a gift card to come back and try the food again. It’s been almost 3 months now and I still have received anything. Some of the other yelpers that received the same email said they never got a gift card too. Wow that’s crazy like you say you want people to try your food again and promise a gift card but never actually send it out? Hella sketchu Oh man we expected so much more than this! This place had good reviews so we decided to try it for dinner tonight but was immensely disappointed!! The fries were lukewarm and tasted like it had been out for hours. Not fresh at all!! We ordered the Bacon Chedder burger and the mushroom Swiss burger. Our buns were cold…like fridge cold wtf. And the patties were dry and Luke warm like they were under the heater for over an hour. The mushrooms in the burger were cold too. Terrible! We paid $25 for food we threw away sauce it was that bad. Carl’s Jr. would have had better burgers and be half the price. This place needs a wake up call

Viking Burger – Menu with Prices – 11745 Jefferson Ave, Newport News

Based on the reviews and recommendations from locals we visited Viking Burger and the burgers are as described, AWESOME. NOT a chain, but a local business with a distinct niche making great burgers with a Viking theme. The burgers are labeled with an appropriate Norse name and yes, the fries were tasty as well. So what to order? Burgers of course – read the menu not just to get a description of the burgers, but also for the entertainment value. Burgers are truly tasty, and made to order. However, during our visit, our burgers took time (~45 minutes) to grill because they had issues with the grill. Was the wait worth it? YES…but we had to drive back to Northern Virginia (~3 hours away) so the delay was no appreciated. A converted “Weiner World” restaurant, Viking Burger is easy to find off the road, a building that is all roof, not much room is available to eat inside; picnic tables are located outside to dine. No beer is sold so you may want to take the tasty burger(s) back home. If ever in the area again, I plan on stopping by…I hope that the broken grill has been fixed! If not for the long delay, the rating would have been much higher.

Everything Burger – Menu with Prices – 3372 Canton Rd, Marietta

There are some issues I think this place needs to work out, but I can already tell but I’ll be back plenty of times. Case in point I’ve already been there twice even after my first time was very on the fence. I love places that have lots of options for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone with food restrictions are allergies. This place has lots of options despite the fact that really the only things that they do are burgers and fries. That’s actually what attracted me here in the first place. My first order was the black bean burger with lettuce, red pepper, vegan cheddar cheese, mango chili sauce and cajun waffle fries. Basically the burger had the flavor but not the texture, and the fries had the texture but not the flavor. I’ve had a lot of bad black bean burgers in my time and now that I’m trying to go vegan I anticipate having lots more. The texture of this black bean burger was almost like thick refried beans. It didn’t hold together at all and you can see and one of my pictures that the filling slid to one side. However it tasted really good. Plus I got it on a vegan bun. The moisture from the beans, the sauce, and the toppings turned it to mush basically right after putting it in the wrapper. I essentially had to eat it with a spoon later on. The cajun fries had a really great texture because they were nice and crisp, but I couldn’t taste any of the Cajun seasoning. needless to say my first experience was a little all over the place. I decided to go back and try some of their other choices though. The second time I went I got a vegan burger with onion rings. There vegan Patty is a non soy vegetable protein and it holds together really well. If you’ve ever bitten into a piece of cartilage in a chicken patty oh, it’s actually pretty similar to that. It’s dense and chewy without being overly dense or chewy. It makes it very similar to chicken. This burger was much more satisfying and I got it on a sesame seed bun. I’m sure there’s dairy or something in it but I don’t actually care that much. The onion rings are amazing too. They said they don’t make them there, but they had to go through three or four different vendors until they found one that they were happy with. The place is definitely a hole in the wall. The inside is not lit very well and is always hot, but they got a nice little seated section and they have some games for people. It’s also obviously a family-run restaurant, and they’re really friendly as well as taking a lot of pride in what they do. If you like no frills food that anyone can eat, I would definitely recommend this place. I know I’ll be back in the future to try their veggie burger as well and their sweet potato fries.

Burgers & Brews – Menu with Prices – 6670 W Cactus Rd Suite A108, Glendale

I’ve been doing my damnedest to try a new spot for dinner when the mood strikes me. My wife picked out this joint: Burgers & Brews. It’s located on the cusp of Peoria x Glendale off 67th Ave. and Cactus Rd. There’s quite a few businesses in this strip mall which means there’s also plenty of ample parking. The entrance is clean and if you’re dining in, you seat yourself. We got our meal via takeout. I’ll be perfectly honest, if you’re looking for ambiance – this isn’t a place I’d write home about. There’s not much to look at on the inside. It’s a little hole in the wall and as other Yelp’ers have mentioned, it’s located inside of a struggling strip mall. The decor aside… let’s chat about this food for a moment. The service was very good and the faces are friendly. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant and were given menus. I went with the Classic Burger which is a wholesome all-American cheeseburger with the typical lettuce, tomato, onion. My wife got the Western burger. I opted for sweet potato fries and she opted for tots. Burger was good, but it was one of those flat / griddle kinda burgers that you’d order during the 5th frame at a bowling alley. I’m not typing that as a negative-thing, that’s just the kind of burger it was (see photos). Best in the Valley…? Not in my ever so humble opinion, but the prices were reasonable and the burger was still good. The lettuce, tomato and onion were crisp and fresh. The sweet potato fries were crispy, fresh and salted perfectly. It was $29 for my wife and I which seems to be on-par with most burger establishments here in the Valley. Maybe not the least expensive, but definitely not the most expensive either. I’m giving this place a solid 4-star review. I’d come back because they’re relatively close to where we live, but if I’m looking for a good burger – I’ve had better, in my opinion. I do want to see local businesses like this survive because I think it’s critical to the success of our neighborhoods. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend them to family, friends and fellow Yelp’ers. Thanks for the friendly service!

Roger’s Burgers – Menu with Prices – 591 N D St, San Bernardino

I tried out Rogers Burgers with a co-worker after another co-worker had suggested we should have the decadent Wild and Wreckless Burger that he just loved. So, we did. Rogers Burgers is not in the best part of town, but then again, there is very little in the City of San Bernardino that would be considered nice. This place is an older Mom and Pop type burger stand that has two locations, here and in Burbank with possibly more locations coming. Nice but not overly inviting and a bit loud inside the small eating/cooking area, Rogers gives you just enough space for a quick meal before you move on. We tried the Wild and Wreckless Burger with was a 1/3 lb 100% Angus Beef burger, tomato red onion mustard sauce, pickles, bacon, chili cheese and topped with pastrami! This was one really good sized, messy but tasty burger. The tomato red onion mustard sauce was unique and was very good with their chili and bacon make this burger well worth the $7.49 price. Rogers offers other burgers, sandwiches, breakfasts and combos with fries as well. I opted not to get the fries for $1.99 as I am trying to cut back but they do look really good and will try them next time. For the most part it looks like Rogers keeps things fresh and simple and do a good job with their burgers. Everything is cooked fresh and the wait was a bit long but to be expected with freshly made burgers. Their breakfast burritos also looked good in the pictures and would like to try them. I hope they expand out into the Upland/Rancho area where I think to might do some good business

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Menu with Prices – 120 W CityLine Dr Suite 600, Richardson

Came for the grand opening and honestly was super disappointed. Waited in line for about like 45 min before opening really hungry and ready to get this free burger and buy some fries and etc. They had like 2 vendors come out and a DJ and had lots of balloons and what not. Finally after waiting in the heat they open the doors at 12:05pm and only let 10 ppl at a time. Me and my bf get inside and we get to “order” and by that I mean they had pre made burgers sitting out and we only got to choose from 2 options the grilled chicken or the regular burger. So now that I didnt get to try the burger I wanted to try ( assuming we could choose any burger since the advertising said free burger.. you would think it would be any of their burgers that you could choose from) we ordered a fries and grabbed our burger from the counter (who knows how long it’s been sitting in the back already made) We sit down the burger is pretty small and super sad. The veggies looked super non existant. I opened the burger and finally found it hiding. The burger was sooo dry and super chewy. Like some frozen patty that you get at your school cafeteria lunch. It was so bad I would not pay like 8 bucks for this. The fries finally came out after we finished our burger and we had to go up there to ask when our fries were done. They had it just sitting up there and no one delivering to our table.. The fries were so small.. and it was like potato chips? It was definitely better than the burgers but still so pricy for the amount of fries and size of it. Also what was really annoying was there was nothing on the table. At least have some napkins… you have to grab everything at a station which was annoying to do when theres a bunch of ppl in the store. Giving 2 stars cause they tried and gave free burgers but honestly this just made me realize why these burger IM have bad reviews and that the quality of these burgers is defin not worth the price. In and out is a million times better than this and cheaper go there instead.

Fat Cat Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 1401 S Virginia St, Reno

Alright. This place is the bomb.com. No, but seriously…my friends and I recently stumbled upon this place and their food is so good. First and foremost, Fat Cat Bar & Grill is located in the same building as Morgan’s Lobster Shack and Fish Market used to be. Actually let me be more specific. Remember how Morgan’s had a dining area on both the ground floor and upstairs floor? Well now, Rue Bourbon occupies the upstairs area, and Fat Cat occupies the downstairs! Although I miss Morgan’s, I’m so ecstatic that two awesome businesses have taken its’ place. We’ve come to eat at Fat Cat Bar & Grill a handful of times and we’ve always left happily satisfied. For our most recent visit, my room mate and I decided to sit outside on their patio since it was sunny at the time. Our server, Jesse, provided excellent, casual friendly service. You also can’t miss him because he’s probably the tallest person there. We browsed the menu and on one of their pages we noticed that they promoted the fact that all of their burgers are from Minden, NV and are Bently Ranch all natural grass-fed beef. It was good to know that even this local business supports other local businesses, too! I decided on their signature Ridge Burger, which was served with sautéed onions, Swiss cheese, and bacon beer jam. My room mate on the other hand decided to get their Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich, which was a crispy fried chicken with pepper jack cheese, sliced avocado, and roasted peppered aioli on a potato bun. Lastly, we both shared their Craw Daddy Fries. The Ridge Burger is by far, my favorite burger here at Fat Cat. I can’t seem to pick anything else whenever we visit. It’s meaty, juicy and there bacon beer jam adds a nice touch. Surprisingly, the Fried Chicken Sandwich also packed some great flavors. I’m not a huge fan of chicken sandwiches, but I’d gladly order this if I’ve ever craving it. Last but not least, the Craw Daddy Fries was covered with a roasted red pepper aioli that made it taste so good! It was a great addition to our burgers and sandwiches. Fat Cat Bar and Grill provides some tasty foods with excellent service. They also have outdoor seating for those nice summer days! Whenever I’m craving a good quality burger, my first thought is always Fat Cat. I am very much looking forward to our next visit!

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Halal – Menu with Prices – 44029 Osgood Rd #140, Fremont

I don’t know if it’s just us who have noticed, but for a while now, it seems like Burger IM is popping up EVERYWHERE. Interested to see what they have to offer, the hubby and I stopped by for an early Sunday lunch. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived, but considering the space, it could certainly host large groups thanks to the plethora of seats. The menu, while clear, does take some time to navigate. Burger IM offers your usual burgers that you would expect at most burger joints, but to stand out from the crowd, it also offers the duo and trio which allows you to select two or three different mini hamburgers. Wanting to try some variety, the hubby and I both went for the duo. He chose the Angus beef and crispy fried chicken while I got the Merguez beef and the UNCUT burger (plant-based patty), both with swiss cheese instead of cheddar. We also shared a “half&half” side of onion rings and sweet potato fries While it was neat to try four different burgers, it also meant the kitchen had to MAKE four different burgers which definitely ate into the service. We waited for an uncomfortable amount of time for our food and we were the only ones there. We hate to think how long it would have taken if there was a crowd… Presentation isn’t necessarily a strong suit, but everything looked fresh. I was bummed to see that for our side, there were only three onion rings on a bed of sweet potato fries that were thankfully fried perfectly. As for the burgers, the hubby and I loved each patty immensely. You could really taste the difference and I was blown away by the plant-based patty. It was so juicy! The Merguez patty was filled with aromatic spices and the Angus beef was cooked well. We weren’t too fond of the sesame buns, wishing it was toasted more. For the amount of food we got, prices are more than reasonable. Burger IM was such pleasant surprise, giving us the chance to try four different patties in one hearty, delicious meal. I’m certain we will come back again!

Roxbury Urban Dive Bar – Menu with Prices – 1743 Grafton St, Halifax

This new hip bar is absolutely AMAZING! We walked in and were greeted insteantkt and felt so much warmth. Their neon sign for the R for Roxbury inside is too cool. They have a DJ in ‘the cage’ which holds a DJ until 330 am. Their entire menu is 5$ – everything. From burgers and fries to curry dishes and desserts. We tried the ‘hot line bling burger’ with sweet potato fries, Bollywood curry and a jerk chicken taco. The burger was super spicy but absolutely amazing, the sweet potato fries were incredibly crispy. The Bollywood curry has fresh chicken and broccoli – so much flavour and the rice was perfect. The tacos- the chicken was unbelievable and perfectly cooked – you could smell it before you ate it. We finished with a sweet carrot cake – everything was absolute perfection. I rarely fall in love with a restaurant but this restaurant I truly hope lasts. Their food, atmosphere and just their overall ambience is electric. 100% recommend.

Bless Your Heart Burgers 33rd Avenue – Menu with Prices – 5410 NE 33rd Ave, Portland

Located at the former site of Cannon’s Rib Express, Bless Your Heart Burgers (BYH) 33rd Avenue is the second location of BYH and the first location on the east side. There seems to be a lot of hype about BYH’s burgers and I can see why. I wouldn’t say its the best burger in town, but I did really enjoy my Classic Burger (with added sautéed mushrooms and bacon) last night. I love how BYH smashes their burgers to get a super crusty finish on the exterior of the burger. That char added so much flavor to the burger, and the burger was still moist too. The sautéed mushrooms added a nice textural element, though I would skip the bacon next time since it was a bit chewy and definitely low quality. Along with my burger, I also shared Chili Cheese Fries and the Down n Dirty Fries with my partner. Of the two, I’d say the Down n Dirty Fries were my favorite. Both of the fries came with this great beer cheese sauce, but I liked that the Down n Dirty Fries came with griddled onions, peppers, and mushrooms, as I felt like I needed more veggies in my meal due to the use of shredded lettuce in my burger instead of a big piece of lettuce, which is normally my preference. I thought the fries were a tad oily, but still tasty nonetheless.

Vicki’s Lunch Van, LLC. – Menu with Prices – 2520 Fairground Rd, Montgomery

I was looking for another burger spot while in Montgomery and came across Vicki’s Lunch Van (Without the Van). This is a small place with walk up ordering. You’ll probably open the door and already be at the back of the line, don’t worry-it move fast so stick around and get a burger and fries. The 6oz was the perfect size, the 8oz is a big burger so be ready to get both hands messy putting that big ol burger away. Burgers come with cheese and all the fixins, you can of course ask to have things removed but live a little and just eat it like it comes. The FRIES were dang good, hot and crispy like they should be. Grab some season salt to toss on them off a table! Combo comes with burger, fries and a drink for less than $9, cant beat that. If you are in Montgomery swing out and grab a burger from Vicki’s!
