My favorite fish market wasn’t open one day so I decided to stop here and get a fish dinner. I can say this was one of the worst fish meals I have had. First off, the building and kitchen are dilapidated and in desperate need of repair. The workers come up randomly and take your order and the cashier cooks the food. I couldn’t get over the appearance of the place, but the food was worse than that. I ordered tilipia and okra. I didn’t notice until I got home that they gave me fries instead. The food wasn’t good at all to me. It was missing something and just wasn’t prepared well!!! Many people I know swear by this place but I don’t see how when there are so many things working against this business. Maybe if they implement new practices for this fish market it would be a better draw for people. I’m still mad I wasted my money on the food here. The only thing I did enjoy was the Mystic drink I bought. Mystics are my favorite drinks, so I was so glad to see them selling them here!!! Please do better y’all!!!

Dragon Express / Pho Vietnam Express – Menu with Prices – 678 E St, Chula Vista

I was looking for pho in the area and came across this place. The reviews all seem so great so I decided to give it a try. All everyone sayd about this place is that its in a run down ghetto place. Thats definitely not the case. I ordered orange chicken, shrimp fried rice, y eggrolls, and large pho. My total came out to $35 a bit more than what i usually pay at my regular pho place. It was good but it wasnt the best like everyone says. Rice kinda tasted like it had been cooked since the morning and just sitting under heat. Orange chicken was ehh. The egg rolls where good. The pho was a big portion but it wasnt all that tasty it was missing lots of flavor. I was extremely disappointed since I was sick and pho was the only thing I was craving. I dont think i will be giving this place a second chance. I’ll most likely stick to my original pho place even if its a bit further.

Mi Paraiso Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 5101 E Saunders St, Laredo

Other people seemed to enjoy it. My opinion shared: Waitresses are kinda pushy. They demand u buy the size you dont want. They come at u 2 waitresses at a time. You feel u have to order what they request. Menudo wasnt as good as they said. Made me order a medium because they emphasized how good it was. 4 sips and i left it. My taco was good. They made sure to get it correct verifying a few times how i wanted it prepared.

Pho Tre Bien Cafe – Menu with Prices – 12302 Montana Ave #502, El Paso

So i really wanted to give this place 4 stars at least but i both me and my husband agree that the banh mi and the small bowl of pho that comes with the pho and banh mi combo are just not as good. I am however super impressed by their options and based it off a cafe theme with their nice spread of desserts and coffee. I tried their japanese cheesecake to go a while ago and although tasty, it was a bit too dry and thrist inducing for my liking. They also have this nice brunch option of skillets and this is where they offered half a bahn mi and a mini pho bowl option. It can only have the special viet ham banh mi for this option which i can understand why. It wasnt my favorite choice of meats. I was at least able to get the brisket option for my mini pho bowl but there wasnt much meat neither compared to the 5$ mini bowl options at the other locations. My husband stuck to his beef banh mi as usual. He did not like how the bread was prepared here. It was too toasted to the point of stabbing himself on his lips from the bread. Perhaps they needa make sure they dont use bread thats too dried out already. Well they also offer military discounts on Monday at least so maybe if we would be in the area that day, we may go back.

New York Chicken And Grill – Menu with Prices – 3203 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Richmond

If zero was an option I’d put it. My 10yr old got a fried fish meal while eating it he said what’s this. and on every piece of fish inside was a thick piece of paper with words. whatever they wrap the fish or set it on they fried everything with that paper on it. I know damn well somebody saw that paper on the fish when dipping it in batter.not one but all. Disgusting and I wish I had time that day to take a picture to post here and take it back. When you dont take pride in your business you’re going to keep having the same lack of business so changing the name of this establishment isnt fixing the problem

Momentum Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3555 Rayford Rd #10, Spring

This place is a must EVERY time I come home to visit. The coffee is great and the food is great. Except today….hence the 3 star review. Customer service. I walk in and they have ONE person running the counter, drive thru and producing drinks. I get it’s a Tuesday and business can be slow during midweek and one person running the whole show can slide. I know how it gets, Ive been a barista. So, I’m patient. But, when the poor girl has a line of 5 deep, 2 cars in drive thru, and still has to make drinks for patrons who previously ordered….shes going to need help. What got me heated was while all of this was happening, there are 3 Owners(I sure hope it wasnt), managers or employees sitting in the corner chatting(or having a mtg….frankly, as a customer, dont know, dont care) and seeing their girl starting to drown, do absolutely nothing. Yet, one of the guys in a tie dye shirt just keeps glancing over at the line as it builds, still do…..wait for it…. nothing. He finally decides to make moves and help the poor girl after I was giving him a stare down. Then the dude finally walks up, asks if I’m waiting for drinks or food, I needed to step to the side counter. I told him that I was actually waiting to be helped and he rudely replied, “Well….I’m right here” DONT ever talk to a customer in that manner or tone. Customer Service is what keeps what makes a business thrive. There are plenty of coffee shops around here but Great customer service is what makes customers return for your coffee. That’s why I kept coming back. I hope the next time I’m in town the customer service is better.

Jameson?s Pub – Menu with Prices – 2702 Main St, Santa Monica

I was already planning to post about the horrible service here. But now that I’ve woken up with food poisoning I’m more concrrned about that. Of the people working there last night only 3 were actually doing their job. I think our servers name was Sean. He was trying to do his job but when he would go put in a drink order, the guy working the bar would ignore him. Felt bad for Sean at first but it’s a domino effect so it sucked getting everything late. Also they served our drinks to the table next to us. The people next to us were walking around with them asking whose they were. Then I asked if they could pour me a new one and it took like 25 minutes cause when sean asked the guy at the bar i saw the guy roll his eyes then just goof off and do nothing. It wasn’t until Sean asked one of the girls (person no. 2 of 3 doing their job) to make it since that guy doesn’t want to. Also, the short waitress was extremely rude. She was serving the table next to us and the guys there were complaining cause she kept stroking their arms when she’d check on them. When Sean went on his break he said that waitress has your card so let her know if you need anything. When my friend asked if he could order a drink she said yes and turned and walked away so swiftly….like wth he was about to put in a drink order. More concerning, i woke up early thus morning with vomiting diarrhea and a fever. I had 3 fish tacos yesterday night aside from my protein shake in the morning. So it was the fish tacos. Maybe they did it on purpose because i asked them to repour my beer. I wasnt going to tip because it was such a horrible experience but i felt bad that sean was trying so i just left him 5 bucks which is barely over 10%. Sorry Sean but this place does not have it together.

Abbey’s Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 409 Monmouth St, Jersey City

I really wanted to like this place being that I live very close by and there are not many hookah places around, but due to their unethical business practices I will never be returning. I came here alone on a weekend night for some hookah, food, and wine. I gave the waitress my card and tipped her appropriately prior to leaving. The next day, I looked at my receipt and notice that prior to adding up the total cost, which has suggested tip %’s included on the receipt, she had already tipped herself 18%. So basically, she took it upon herself to tip herself 18%, then added that cost onto my bill and gave me a receipt that had suggested tips of 15%, 18%, and 20% ON TOP of what she already tipped herself. I went back the following day to complain about the unethical practices, and the woman did refund her 18% tip (as I tipped on-top of that), but only after I threatened to dispute the entire charge with my CC company because of their shady practices. I will never be returning and giving business to this establishment and suggest you do the same, unless you don’t want mind being taken advantage of.

Richmond Hotel and Tavern – Menu with Prices – 172 King St, London

I WARN YOU DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS ESTABLISHMENT!! At some point me and a friend needed a hotel to stay at so we decided to stay at the tavern. I wasnt sure who to talk to for a room so i asked the gentleman down stairs. He took our money for one weeks stay and gave each of us a room key. During the night i had to go to the washroom. It was small, dark a dismall, to my horror when looking into the waste basket nearest the toilet … USED SYRINGES IN PLAIN SIGHT! I ran from there to my room again… the nights sleep was ok aside from the music pounding my body… The next morning we woke up to some old man creep pounding at our door. Turns out this was the REAL hotel manager. He basically told us to get our shit and get out. We quickly gathered together our things but not before we went downstairs to confront the original man who turned out to be the bartender. He refused to give me back any of the money claiming that i was being stupid. We ran up to our now unlocked hotel room. My friend couldnt find her cell phone. I told her to look under the pillows and sure enough there it was. She knew she left it on the desk and i saw it there too. Once we retrieved the phone and hotel management caught eye of this he started getting more verbally violent. Shooing us out with swear words calling us name’s as we packed in a hurry When we finally escaped the establishment we ran and couldnt have run fast enough!!! I warn you! Dont drink here. Dont stay here and dont support this place The one night i tried was like a scene out of some horror movie!!keep safe!!!

Carlos Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 3852 Richmond Ave, Staten Island

The fish market smells clean and looks clean which it’s a plus. I called the fish market two hours before arrival, to place a order for 2 dozen of blue crabs cleaned. Then about 15 mins later, I called again and changed my order to 3 dozens of blue crabs cleaned. I showed up, the person I saw he said did you say you want 3 crabs or 3 dozens? I said 3 dozens. He said ok I only have 3 crabs and he went in the back to get 3 dozens. I was thankful he had more in the back. He gave me few extra crabs due to some crabs were missing claws. Which it was very nice of him. After I paid, he hands me back $6 and I didn’t see it then. As I went to do more shopping and I counted the money. I noticed the $6 he hands me. The dollar bill is ripped and missing pieces. I never went back to ask for new dollar but next time if I go back, I will make sure there’s no ripped money. Which I do not understand why would he made that move. The blue crabs were so fresh when we cooked it in the oven, loved it!

Kathleen’s Catch – Menu with Prices – 9810 Medlock Bridge Rd #800, Duluth

This place definitely has fresh fish, that much is clear. I was very excited about this as I generally go to Buford Highway Famers Market where the fish is hit or miss and you really need to check. This isn’t a typical fish market where you need to really dig through or look at the fish eyes to see if the fish is fresh – you just know from the smell and presentation. That being said, if you wanted to look at the fish eyes you can’t because everything is pre-cut into 6oz steaks – with no skin for pretty much everything. That was the first issue for me as when I buy fish I like to see the whole fish, and get it in fillets with skin on (crispy skin is the best part after all). I asked the counter attendant if it would be possible to get skin on as fillets; she answered yes for some of the fish which seemed a little weird to me but not all fish has super edible skin so I let that go. That’s when I noticed the prices – VERY expensive. I’m talking twice what you would pay at a whole foods or more. I’ve never seen cod going for $13 for a 6oz steak or snapper $16 for the same. I was about to just bite the bullet and spend the extra cash and asked if I could get some sea bass with skin on; that’s when the attendant asked the back if that were possible and the guy shouted back to her “I’ve never seen that with skin before.” How do you work at a fish market and you never seen that fish with skin before? Do you not get the fish whole? How is the fish delivered? That just raised way too many questions for me so I left and got two large fillets of wild caught snapper from the nearby whole foods for $25 total.

Hollywood Fried Chicken – Menu with Prices – 200 Newark Ave # 2, Jersey City

Unreal. This is an experience through Uber eats. This company engages in complete anticonsumer practices. I accidentally placed an order on Uber eats, I contacted Uber eats support within 1 minutes. Uber eats contacted restaurant within the next minute. We are now at 2 minutes. Restaurant said the order was already completed, and on its way. We have 3 possible options here. 1. The restaurant is staffed by super humans that can prepare food at God speed. Or these marvelous people can predict orders before they happen. If so, they should consider employment at a hedge fund. I hope this is the case, I really do. 2. The restaurant has all food prepared and sitting waiting to be thrown into a bag (ewwww). 2.a. I order a gyro sandwich. This means that the yogurt sauce is sitting out prepared in a sandwhich until someone orders it. That is basically a full health code violation that could cause lysteria. 3. They do not understand how to properly run a good service business. They will force a consumer to pay for an accidental order. 3.a. this ensures that they have zero repeat customers, and anyone I meet for the next 3 weeks will know not to order from these charlatans. 3.b if they were a publicly traded company I would short them on full margin. I give them 1 year before they close their doors and file for bankruptcy. They real issue here is they refused to cancel an order even though the request was put in within a couple minutes. They have either redefined fast-food, have distrusting food prep practices, or are so greedy they can’t lose out on $20. ( I was going to order like 40 worth of food, if they let me cancel!) I am going to accept my order, I am going to top my driver from Uber eats, I am going to trash my food and order from Popeyes tomorrow. Popeyes will be in business in a year, this this place will absolutely not.

Crab Palace 2 – Menu with Prices – 186 W Market St #111, Newark

I honestly only stop by here because it was right next to where I was dropping my friend off. As soon as I walked and I noticed some crab legs and some shrimp but for some reason they did not look as fresh as they should be. I just decided to order the imitation krab meat fried sticks. They were surprisingly good because there were very tender. On the other hand my friend ordered the Whiting fish sandwich. She and I both thought it kind of tastes like old fish, seemed over cooked, dry and was missing a lot of flavor. The man in the lady that were working were extremely nice though and explain the menu very well to me. I’m sure if they had a better location and more people stopped by their food would be a lot better.
