I live near Atlanta, but have family near Augusta, so Iâ??ve eaten at this restaurant several times. The service has been terrible the last couple of visits. The first few times I ate at Harbor Inn, I was so impressed with how good the food was, the portion sizes and great prices. However, last summer when a large group ate there for my birthday, the service was extremely slow and many of our meals were nowhere near hot. But because we had waited so long and were very hungry, we all ate it anyway. We contributed the slow service and lukewarm food to the busyness and our large party. . Fast forward to today. There were only four of us in our group. We got there early for dinner because we were driving back to Atlanta afterwards and figured weâ??d beat the crowd. We arrived at 4pm & it certainly wasnâ??t crowded. It started out fine. Our server, Kylah, was friendly. We placed our orders and waited, and waited and waited. Forty-five minutes later, we asked if she would check on our order. She came back and said that it would still be quite a few minutes. We told her that was crazy! She went on to say, â??on Fatherâ??s Day I had 7 parties to just up and leave because of having to wait so longâ? and â??to be honest, they give larger tables priorityâ?. We asked, â??even if we were here firstâ? and she said yes. At that point, we told her weâ??d like to speak to the manager. She came back & said the manager would be with us shortly. The manager never came over!!! From then on Kylah avoided our table. Keep in mind we had been nothing but pleasant to her because we realized it wasnâ??t her fault. Our food finally arrived and thank goodness it was delicious, except for everyoneâ??s baked potatoes, which were lukewarm (we ate them anyway). Kylah still avoiding our table. My husband finally flagged her down and asked for more tea. His glass was empty and everyone elseâ??s was half full. (She hadnâ??t refilled even once in all that time.) There were other things we had to ask for, which should have come with the food. When she came with his tea, she literally brought him a glass and none for anyone else. By this time, my patience is nearly gone. I called her over and said, â??Kylah, please look at our table and our glasses. Everyone else would like some tea as well and not just one glass of tea for him.ð??? We were truly appalled the manager never even bothered to come to our table (even tho Kylah had said the manager had gone back to the kitchen to help out). . My parents who live in the area have started patronizing DeShawnâ??s and now we know why. We wonâ??t be going back. Yes, the food was good, but the terrible service, the long wait, and the lack of consideration by the manager made it an overall bad experience. Again, we wonâ??t be returning!

Yoshi Sushi Bar and Japanese Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 260 Racine Dr, Wilmington

We went to YoshiSushi for a late lunch on a Saturday. We arrived around 1:30 and there was maybe 4 tables. The service was not the best. The waitress was nice, but the Service was below average. We waited quite a while for our waitress to come and take our drink order, in which she decided to go ahead and take our food order as well. I ordered an appetizer and a miso soup with extra tofu, I did not get either. Our food came out as it was ready. We did not get our food at the same time. All of our entree came out and as we all finished our meals… our appetizers arrived. “Sorry there was a mix up in the kitchen.” We told her we didn’t want it now that we have finished our meal, she had to ask her manager to come over and approve it. The manager just took it and said “we will take it off your bill”. When it was time to pay, I asked for the check in discount, again.. she had to ask her manager to come and approve it. The “manager” was one of those “oh, I can’t believe she’s the manager”. I had asked if vegetables came with the stir fry noodles dish and the answer was yes, but I forgot to tell them to omit it out of the dish. When my noodles arrived with vegetables, I asked the guest I was with if I had mentioned no vegetables, she said no. I wasn’t going to ask for an exchange since it was my negligence, well.. the manager thought it was cute to say “haha well they eat the vegetables for dinner”, instead of perhaps.. asking if she could fix it? Regardless, I was going to pick around it, but her comment was not necessary. The manager had to approve the removal of the appetizer that came late and approve the Yelp discount, which kind of made me feel that I was asking for things that weren’t offered or was a difficult customer. I wouldn’t recommend ordering the stir fry noodles… it’s a big greasy pile of mess. My 10 month’s face was shiner than a mirror after she was done eating the noodles and chicken. I believe the front staff (including the manager) could use a bit more training on service and promotions.

Olivella’s Las Colinas – Menu with Prices – 5238 N O’Connor Blvd #134, Irving

Our first trip to this particular location and while the food was pretty close to what we’ve had at another location, the service had a lot in terms of improvement. Food was a respectable 4-5 stars. Service was about 2 stars. This particular visit happens to be on a Monday night and only one wait staff member and a manager on the floor. I get it, hard to find help these days so we’re ok and understanding. What made this visit extraordinary was the type of service we experienced from the manager and the sole staff member. Let me summarize…1) we asked for additional bread as part of our appetizers TWICE, got charged for it, but no bread delivered (when almost complete with meal and after we received our bill, the waitress asks “did your bread ever make it out”), 2) manager asked us to move our plates so he can place our food on the table (twice), 3) when we asked for another glass of wine, response from manager “yea but it will be a while”, 4) a small plate we had on the table was previously used by another patron, 5) while still only 80% finished with our meal, manager drops the bill at the table (literally as most of the table is still eating and I guess that means no dessert for you), 6) we asked for to go boxes and response from manager to waitress, “to go or pizza boxes?”; hmm let me guess since we only had pizzas for our meal, I don’t know maybe a happy meal box???, and so on. As some feedback to ownership, your manager should really omit their display of how frustrated they are to your customer…it is Hospitality and usually done with a smile, not out of frustration. Hope they improve their management and staff. Wouldn’t write this location off just yet as the food was good; however it will be a while for a repeat visit to let management transition out.

Big Rig Kitchen & Brewery – Menu with Prices – 2750 Iris St, Ottawa

Terrible. We went to check out the food because we planned to use their catering service for an upcoming special event. We ordered food for take out and waited 40 minutes at the bar. The bartender finally shouted to see what was going on with our order and it turns out it had been sitting at the front for quite a while but no one bothered to tell us. (We tried investigating a few times but the 2 young ladies were usually not there or were busy seating people etc.) We’re pretty easygoing but our 2 young children were starving. The food was lukewarm when we got home but okay. While we were there we asked about placing a catering order and were told this wasn’t the location that does it but we just needed to call 48 hours in advance. Okay, great. My husband calls more than 48 hours in advance and speaks to a lady who puts us on hold and returns to say their weekend was too busy and she didn’t think she could fit us in but we should email the manager and she would let us know for sure. Ummmm… ? We asked if we could just speak to her then so we could have a clear idea of how to proceed and the manager would not even come to the phone. The lady tells us now the manager is just saying no. Now whenever we drive by, my daughter shouts “I hate you Big Rig!” Luckily a much nicer catering company Tulips and Maple were happy to accommodate our (now last-minute) order.

Big City Wings – Menu with Prices – 3555 Rayford Rd, Spring

This place is a HUGE disappointment!! I’ve been here 3 times, each hoping it would be better than the last, only to be let down each time. Several things on the menus are good, however, the service is horrible! Last night was the was by far the worst service ever. Their manager needs to get out of food service! He placed a young, inexperienced girl on a 12 person table. To say the least drinks were not filled, food was not right, and wait time for anything was ridiculous. After expressing our frustrations to the manager several times, he said he would take care of it, but never did. He continued to leave this girl on the table with no guidance and when confronted, he blamed her for the reason we had horrible service. Service is a reflection of the leader! By the ways, did I mention we had to bus our own table. Dishes were stacked up with no room for our desserts, instead of removing the dishes they asked us to move them out of the way. Finally, someone from our table got up and moved the dishes to another table. We waited for our checks for 45 minutes and had to write down our own orders because they did not know who’s food and drinks belonged to who. This place just opened a few months ago, My suggestion to them; if you want to stay in business you better get someone in there that knows what they are doing. A friendly manager only goes so far. If you can’t run the business, you won’t have one to run. By the way there was no discount or comped anything for a dinner that took 3 hours to get us in and out.

Anna’s House Menu with Prices 445 E Eisenhower Pkwy #1, Ann Arbor

This was my first time here at Anna’s house and I was looking forward to this place since my mom talked about it. I put us on a waiting list and when I checked in, we waited 15 minutes for them to apparently clean a table. That confuses me since I figured the point of a waiting list was so that you didn’t wait so long for s table. We waited just as long as the people who walked in and out their name on the list with the lady at the counter. So that was the first strike for me. I figured we came in at a busy time, but I didn’t think it was that busy just to serve drinks, but the waitress took our drink order and it almost took 10 minutes to get our drinks. One of the cups wasn’t washed all the way, so we asked for a new cup and I’m can only assume the waitress forgot, because not only did it take 10 minutes for the replacement cup to come out, she served three other tables before we had to get her attention to bring the replacement cup back out to our table. We sat down at 1:35pm and waited to get our order taken 20 minutes afterwards; at 2:17pm when the waitress finally walked past the table, so I had to flag her to get her attention and ask how long it would take for our order. When she came back, she told us that there were four table orders before they would be able to start fixing our order. So I asked for the manager. The manager was polite and explained that they experienced a power outage and half of the kitchen wasn’t powered because of that. I’m not at all upset about that, but the front counter and the waitress failed to explain that to us before we waited so long for our order. Even though the manager did offer to compensate the meal, I didn’t want to wait a possible 30 minutes more for the food to be ready. The last thing I noticed was how the tables were being cleaned, I saw two just being cleaned with a towel (maybe they sprayed the towel before coming out, but I couldn’t tell); but they just wiped the taxable with the towel and didn’t dry the table off before sitting the customers down. I only saw one waiter wipe off a corner table with sanitizer but he must have been in a rush because he left the sanitizer spray and the towel in the floor next to the booth. That bottle was sitting on the floor since 2:17pm when I asked for the manager and sat there through your conversation. This was my first time at this restaurant and I’m not sure if I’ll return; not because of the power outage but because of service.

Boss Coffee & Creamery – Menu with Prices – 5400 Meadowood Mall Cir, Reno

I decided to get a cup of coffee around 2 PM today. It was very full so I only put in a small amount of cream, but that was ok. When I took a sip it was not hot. I drank a few more sips but I like my coffee hot. I took it back up to the counter and told the lady that my coffee was lukewarm . She said “oh” , not I’m sorry just oh. She took my cup and stuck it in the microwave. Really! the only thing worse than lukewarm coffee is microwaved coffee. When she gave it back to me she said you know the cream is cold so it cools off the coffee. It doesn’t make it lukewarm I told her. I spent 20 year in restaurant service, not how I would have handled it. Lukewarm coffee, uncaring service and a lecture, I won’t be back.

CharBar No.7 – Menu with Prices – 3724 Lawndale Dr, Greensboro

Around 5:15 pm, my friends and I stopped in for a bite to eat. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen at all because we were never greeted or waited on. The hostess seated us at dirty table that we had to clean ourselves. In addition, we were there prior to several customers that were greeted and waited on. I wonder if this is the type of service that African Americans receive when visiting Char Bar 7. When asked to see the manager on duty, he nonchalantly walked over with an annoying stare. I wonder if it’s because he was interrupted by the kind male waiter while having a casual conversation while sipping on his drink. After informing the manager about this incident, he didn’t make any attempt to rectify the situation. His apology was pathetic as was the experience. #donteatthere #onerating#callingthegeneralmanager

Hello Goodbye Bar – Menu with Prices – 1120 Hamilton St, Vancouver

My first experience at hellogoodbye was definitely memorable. My party and I had a reservation for VIP bottle service for multiple bottles as it was my cousin’s birthday. The email confirmation we received days prior stated we needed to be there at 12:30pm the latest, we arrived at 11:30pm. From the moment we arrived it was very chaotic and very unorganized. There was 1 line for general admin with a few people in it and a crowd right in the front for everything else. When we arrived we spoke with the bouncers who were very prompt and went to get our promoter for our reservation. Micky Valens was who we booked directly with and later found out is the manager. He came out and let us know the “order” of who’s coming in next. We were the third group. The two groups before us arrived after us but we let that slide. After sometime those two groups headed in and we still remained waiting. Two other groups arrived when Micky came outside again and once again told us the “order” of who’s coming in next. This time we were the second group that was to come in. While patiently waiting we began speaking with the group ahead of us and they informed me that they only have guest list. I’ve got bottle service at multiple clubs in Vancouver and never had guests list groups that arrived after us go in before bottle service. It’s one of the incentives of getting bottle service and spending large amounts of money at a club. After I found this out I voiced my concern with one of the bouncers and was informed we were put down as guestlist on a piece of paper, keep in mind I informed the bouncers and manager once we arrived that we have bottle service. The bouncer apologized and soon after (30mins) we were taken inside. Our reservation was for a party of 10, we were taken to a section for 4-5ppl with people already sitting there. They told those people to move and while one guy was leaving he threw his drink at the table and there was glass everywhere. The bottle service girl saw the glass and we expressed our concern with the limited seating. We asked if the area beside it would be included which would be enough for 10 people and she said that costs extra. When we spoke with Micky and showed him the emails guaranteeing us accommodation for 10 people he informed us that he gave our section away. It was not after 12:30 and couldn’t understand why he’d give our table away after confirming in our emails and when we were outside that they have our table ready. Micky seemed unapologetic and continued to say we could have the second area for more money. I asked if he could honor what he offered and he said no, he couldn’t. He then asked us if we wanted to pay more for something we were already promised if not we could leave. Once Micky had given us an invitation to leave for his mistake we agreed and he threw up his hands and said bye. He threw a tantrum. I’ve never been refused service for someone else’s mistake nor have I ever experienced such poor customer service and lack of professionalism in the entertainment industry. My party and I then headed over to Cabana night club. I sent a text msg to the promoters/dj/bottle service girl who knows us quite well for the amount of money we spend and the amount of business we bring in. Once we arrived they met us outside and we were taken directly in. We were given a bigger section, free champagne (even though that wasn’t necessary because money is not an issue) and more. Overall another amazing experience with the dopest staff in the industry at Cabana.

The Beacon Cafe 287 – Menu with Prices – 12721 US-287 BUS, Fort Worth

This place barely deserves 1 star. My husband and I went for breakfast once morning. We arrived around 10:45am and got seated promptly. We placed our food and drink order and got or drinks right away. Both of our coffees had coffee grinds in them. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for our food. Finally after about 3 coffee refills and 40 minutes of waiting on our food we asked the waitress about our food. She apologizes and checks on our food. She comes back and says that our order is up next. We continue to wait for another 15 minutes and still no food. We tell the waitress just to bring our check for the coffee and we leave… to go eat Lunch somewhere else! Also, there was a large table next to us that was empty when we arrived and was never bused the entire time we were there.

Kaminsky’s Dessert Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2 Magnolia Rd, Charleston

I’ve been going to the downtown location in Charleston for decades. My family of 5 decided to try this location. Parking is very tough, circled around 4x. We did not have to wait long for a seat. We sat at the high top closest to the front. We arrived right before the rush. Problem is that when people come in the restaurant, no one knows if you’re there for takeout or if you already have your name in for a table. Gets crowded in the waiting area, and the people waiting for a table are standing right next to you on the high top. They have to get it better organized. We were seated by the manager and waited awhile for our waiter Ivan to even acknowledge us. Ordered drinks, Ivan brought the drinks but no spoons for coffee or cappuccino. No sugar on table. We asked him for sugar, he gave us 2 packets. My son had a mint chocolate chip shake, was horrible. It was not mixed well. Vanilla ice cream, shot of mint flavoring and chocolate chips thrown in. It tasted like bad mouthwash. My other son has a nut allergy, and I asked Ivan if there was nuts in the key lime pie crust? He said, why does your son have a nut allergy? I said yes. He said, “it shouldn’t.” Not let me check or I’ll ask someone. My son didn’t order it. Ivan get another job. Working with the public is not your thing. You were not pleasant, friendly and heaven forbid you crack a smile. Not to be mean, I put myself through college waiting tables, so I know about service. Thank you to the manager. I flagged her down and asked her if the key lime had nuts. She didn’t know, but took the time to ask the pastry chef. The manager and the food runners were nice and courteous. I was disappointed in my overall experience, but I will try it again. I’m always hopeful, maybe it was just a bad night.

Onos Hawaiian Grill – Menu with Prices – 4015 Fern Ave, Shreveport

Mother’s Day eve, dinner with my bride on a rainy evening. Excited to try something different! We were blown away by the beautiful and spacious interior. Even on a busy night, we were seated quickly, near the bar and the kitchen. Wait personnel , dressed in black swarmed the place. As we waited, and waited and waited some more we visited and kept our eyes open for our waiter.A couple was seated next to us, and on the third trip to their table by THEIR waitress,we snagged her. She was NOT or server but graciously adopted us for the evening. She was delightful. I drank a local beer, Judy shoes a small glass of wine. We ordered an appetizer that contained Fresh tuna. Both drinks and appetizers arrived reasonably quickly. Appetizer was beautiful , drinks good. We placed our orders and reordered more drinks. Food arrived and was beautiful and delicious. I ordered a dirty vodka martini as I wanted to assess the quality of the bar for possible future evenings of drinks and appetizers. Our meal finished, our original drinks consumed, we visited and waited, waited and continued to wait. A well staffed bar was seemingly slow? Our waitress appeared and we asked if the martini was coming? She apologized and went to check. We continued our evening, enjoying our quiet time . Finally, she returned with a small martini, glass adorned with three large olives. She said she had to beg the bar for my drink. She was visibly It was just OK, nothing special and definitely not chilled by shaking with ice. As I finished my drink, we asked for our check! It’s a good thing we were seated! After we added a generous tip for our helpful waitress, our bill was just shy of $120. I asked Judy, who was evaluating our check why so high? It seems that the bar is proud of their drinks. All drinks were overpriced. My martini hit near$15.00. The three garnish olives were billed at $1.00 EACH. In summary, the food was good and attractive, price a tad high- but not outrageous. The bar prices- be aware may not be what you would expect. We will return again, enjoying water or tea- unless lemon or ice cost extra!

George Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 327 W 200 S, Salt Lake City

As is all the rage for Valentines day George set out a Fixed Menu that looked like both a good value and great options. Sadly good and great are adjectives that I can only use to describe the expectation we had prior to actually having eaten at George. We arrived for our 615 reservation and were promptly ignored at the Host Desk while they attempted to deal with some disaster, the poor waiter at the desk looked like he might walk out mid shift- fair enough– shit happens. When we were finally acknowledged and taken to be seated the Hostess was cold and unpleasant and seemed to believe grunts and sighs were the appropriate communication strategy for an upscale Valentines evening. As we walked through the restaurant there were many tables that looked perfectly lovely, we were instead taken to a table that had clearly been shoved into an open spot as an afterthought to increase seating for the evening. When we objected to the cramped seating the hostess responded with “Well that’s where he told me to put you”. We didn’t take that table and instead pointed to a perfectly lovely 2 top that didn’t make you feel like you were eating in an afterthought. The hostess sighed and allowed us to sit there. Oddly this is where things go from bad to worse. The rest of the staff was far friendlier than the hostess but they appeared to be so far underwater (at 630 mind you) that no table was going to get decent service. As the dinner was a fixed menu there was a welcome bread that was delivered lukewarm and with a bit of a soggy bottom. When we mentioned to the Manager who delivered the bread that we wanted the wine pairing (including the glass meant to be paired with the bread) he responded that our server would be by. After a fairly lengthly wait our waitress finally arrived and clearly wanted us to just give her our order for the full fixed menu so that she could manage tables, we weren’t quite ready to order mains and that seemed to put her off a bit, but we ordered our first course. Our waitress departed to put our order in and retrieve the wine that should have been served with the bread and eventually returned with a quite good glass of rose frizzante that would likely have paired well with the bread had there been any bread remaining…. This mistiming of the wine and courses would continue through ought the night with at least 5 minute between the food and wine rather than them arriving together. I’m quite convinced had there been adequate staff our waitress would have been quite a good server but as it was she was both distracted and off her game. The food itself was generally quite good with the flavors well balanced and decent my biggest issue was that it seemed that both the food and wine had clearly sat for some time before being served. My husband loved his seafood and was quite fond of the flavors. The largest issue with the food was the dessert course which when served with gelato, cannot be allot to sit out. Our’s arrived with 1/2 melted gelato that while tasty was a bit of a soup. At the end of the meal we ended up putting our credit card on the edge of the table while we waited for the server. No one asked how the meal was and my impression was that they knew how it was — underwhelming in virtually every-way. To add to this mediocre experience a mandatory 20% tip was added to the bill brining our underwhelming meal to just over 200 dollars. Not a terrible amount for a fixed menu, but not great value for money given just how underwhelming it was. All in all it was a swing and a miss for George this Valentines.
