My friend and I were looking for something nutritious to make up for eating poorly the previous day. As we came across Two Tablespoons, the menu and pics of the macro bowls caught our eyes. We decided to share a Green Market Bowl and added a dollop of guacamole on top (~$16). The counter guy was nice enough to give us another eco-friendly bowl to split our meal so we wouldn’t need to look like horses at a trough. After finding a spot to eat and splitting up the bowl, we finally dug into the food. After noshing in silence for a few minutes, we finally lifted our heads to exclaim how delicious it was. It was certainly the best bowl of vegan food I’ve ever had, and I’m not a vegan. I love a good steak and barbecued meat. However, the combination of separately-seasoned vegetables and grains made for a very tasty and warming bowl of goodness that I would not hesitate to order again. Yummy and guilt-free… That’s a win-win in my book!

Three Legged Tacos Taqueria – Menu with Prices – 7210 N California Ave, Chicago

We had some of their tacos from their food truck at Begyle Brewing. I had all three of their tacos, a vegan, a chicken and a skirt steak. I found the vegan to be spiciest. It has a great combo of flavors and textures. They all did. But I feel the need to mention the vegan in particular. It was fantastic and while the chicken and steak were great too, if I ordered from here again, I’d probably just order the vegan. They were that good. The chicken is labeled as spicy, and it was. But I thought the vegan was a bit spicier. The steak was flavorful and has a bit of creamy goodness. Glad I ate that one last.

Zambra Fusion Cafe – Menu with Prices – 6062 Holly Rd Suite B-6, Corpus Christi

This is so good!! I am from San Antonio where there are a lot of vegan options. I was in town visiting and came here for lunch and there were so many vegan options. The meal I got was a salad bowl and it was full of flavor and I couldn’t finish it because it was definitely filling. They also have vegan bakery items like cookies. I highly suggest going. There are also meat eating options for those who eat that. I was with a meat eater and he got a pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed it. Check it out and support local

An Hy Quan Vegetarian Restaurant Menu with Prices 1405 Juan Tabo Blvd NE #4405, Albuquerque

Amazing authentic Asian vegetarian cuisine. I came here with a friend for lunch on a Sunday and had the place to ourselves at opening. Our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Food was served fast and everything we had was excellent. The deep fried vegan egg rolls were delicious for starters, served with multiple dipping sauces. Even though they were fried, they were not very oily, which was a nice touch. I ordered the fine rice with shredded veggies, tofu loaf and bbq. It was about as perfect as a entree could be. The rice bed was fresh and it was topped with a variety of tastes, from tangy/sweet (bbq) to savory (tofu loaf) to slightly acidic (veggies). The bbq reminded me of something I once had at a vegetarian restaurant in New York City, but until this, had never found anywhere else. My friend ordered the vegan pho with Vietnamese-style vegan beef. The large bowl was big enough to share and was very flavorful. The only thing I’d recommend is that they make their menu more specific in differentiating between what’s vegan and non-vegan. Some items have vegan in the name, although most don’t. With that said, some options are vegan, but you wouldn’t know for sure unless you asked. Luckily our server was very helpful and honest in telling us what was or wasn’t vegan. The steamed buns are NOT vegan, just a heads up. Aside from nit-picking the menu labels, I loved the authentic Asian cuisine and friendly service. I will definitely be back!

Loving Hut Glendale, AZ – Menu with Prices – 3515 W Union Hills Dr, Glendale

I have never seen such unmotivated customer service. I drove 30 minutes for their frozen vegan shrimp and when i didn’t find any in the freezer, i asked the employee helping me if i may know when they get their next shipment. He then asked what i assume is to be the employee in charge, and she said they just received a new shipment last night but has no clue what it is. I stood in silence, wondering if any of them where going to even offer to look. After a moment of silence, I then asked if there is by chance a packet of frozen shrimp for purchase. The employee in charge then said “I have no clue, and we are really busy for mothers day so we may not even have time to stock the freezers. I also don’t have a set of keys to unlock that freezer.” I honestly couldn’t believe her response. She had given me 3 excuses in 1 statement. I myself, came in on Saturday with my son on the day before mother’s day and I can promise you, it was not busy at all. When she noticed how taken back I was by their unprofessionalism, she added “you can call us Monday or Tuesday to see if we have restocked the freezer. ” I am clearly a committed customer if I was willing to drive 30 minutes just for 1 purchase and the head employee couldn’t make the same effort. They sure made my mother’s day.

Osaka Teriyaki & BBQ House – Menu with Prices – 1009 W Alameda Ave, Burbank

Im sorry but the food was nasty. A friend of mine worked here about 25 years ago, just after high school and he used to always steal food for us back then and feed us when we came in (Aaawww…the memories) and it was always pretty good, or maybe we were 19 year old punks and anything tasted good back then. But anyway…..I last there now and then and figured I’d try them again (and actually pay for the food). I got a beef bowl type of dish with beef and rice and was around $9. The plate was kinda small and the meat was ok, but my issue was the meat sat in this nasty sauce that literally looked like snot when I lifted the beef on my fork. I’m sure it was some type of terayaki sauce, but the texture of it was disgusting. I actually couldnt eat the whole thing cause it looked and felt like snot. After I ate 85%of it, I realized I should have just got the same dish at Yakis across the street. I remember i used to love the bbq ribs back in the day, maybe I’ll try those someday but I will stay away from the teriyaki beef bowl.

Mac N’ Cheese Rebel – Menu with Prices – 5031 York Blvd, Los Angeles

This is a very interesting food truck. I genuinely enjoyed my Mac and cheese because when I usually eat Mac and cheese that’s vegan it’s noticeable. However, this truck knows how to mask the “cheese” to taste like real cheese. I got the collard greens toping and the fake meat I believe. I would definitely get the collard greens again. The only reason why I’m not giving it five stars was because of my weird experience. I stood outside the truck eating my Mac and cheese, and then I was half-way through my bowl when the man in the truck making my bowl told me that he gave me the wrong order and it wasn’t vegan. I was very shocked and he didn’t really say anything after that. Then, he said wait, let me see your bowl. He looked at it again and was like, “oh yeah, never mind, that is the vegan one.” My friends and I laughed off that weird encounter at the food truck. But it was kind of weird. Overall, I would probably pay another 13 dollars for Mac and cheese again because it’s good. Hopefully next time he won’t scare me again.

Exhale Hookah Lounge – Menu with Prices – 1725 Santa Clara Dr, Roseville

If 0 stars was available, is definitely utilize the button. I walked into the lounge and was never greeted or acknowledged. The place was not even busy, in comparison to other lounges. I have visited lounges throughout the US and this is by far the worst. I waited 30 minutes and no-one said anything. The coal boy got eye contact with me on several occassions. It almost feels as if I’m watching a bad movie. I’ve also heard the owner exclaim that he is the properties of the terrible lounge more than 5 times. After waiting 30 minutes, I walked up to the register and the 3 guys sitting there stared and made faces. I asked where do I order? The coal boy… who was a complete jack hole…. took my order. There were very limited flavors, he had no idea what fumari was… he just kept saying lemon mint. I then asked what type of bowl do you use? He said everyone gets the vortex. I asked for the fojuil option… the rude ass then said everyone gets vortex. I laughed. He asked for my ID… then he said you have to pay me… I said how much is your hookah? Uhhh… $22. When I asked for a coal refill…. I was told that it costs $5. Hahaha… I should have just packed a bowl at home and saved my money.

El Michoacano Ice Cream and Mexican Food – Menu with Prices – 2922 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines

This place is such a blessing for the Beaverdale/Windsor Heights area. Their food is not only authentic Mexican fare (they even have cactus and yucca on the menu), they have a full, separate menu with all of their vegan friendly options. I’m usually skeptical about the vegan status in most Mexican restaurants I’ve gone to since becoming vegan because traditional Mexican food often uses lard and chicken stock, but the owner’s daughter is a vegan herself and helped develop the menu! From their website: “My 13-year-old daughter is the reason for our vegan food initiative. She became vegan, but still wanted to enjoy our cultural food, therefore I decided to substitute 100% vegan ingredients as the alternative for meat/dairy. The food was later experienced with a couple customers, which turned out to satisfy them. Ever since then, we have had food options for Vegans. That is why at Ice Cream El Michoacano we pride ourselves in having an inclusive menu so everyone can enjoy!” – Gerardo Perez Everything I’ve tried here is flavorful, freshly made, and the portions are generous, especially if you get a burrito. Speaking of burritos, you need to try their own style called the Michacano burrito. It has vegan mayo, ground vegan “beef”, rice, radishes, lettuce, and vegan cheese with house made hot sauces! I also recommend the adobada burrito with soy chorizo, the enchiladas, and empanadas. They also have house made popcicles with vegan options, just ask the cashier what flavors are vegan that day. I love that they fry up a jalapeño with each order, just make sure to eat it with your food so the spice level doesn’t overwhelm your palette! Just a heads up, this is not a place you go for ambience, it’s a local casual food spot with minimal seating, but it’s clean and the people who work there are friendly. It can be challenging to order pickup because of language barriers, depending on who’s working, so learning a few Spanish phrases for ordering is highly recommended. No judgement, I’m impressed by anyone who can speak more than one language at all, and they are always friendly and patient if they don’t understand something.

Pho Vietnam – Menu with Prices – 8602 W 133rd St, Overland Park

Living in Lawrence I don’t get a lot of options to have a good bowl of pho. This is one thing I miss about Wichita. We were excited to try Pho Vietnam after a day of running around and my son is a big Pho fan, it’s his first choice if he’s allowed to pick dinner. When you first walk in the restaurant is clean and inviting. They sat us right away because we came at slow time and quickly served water without even having to ask. We opted to get the crab Rangoon and spring rolls for an appetizer. Those were both really good ! The crab Rangoon filling was flavorful, had a good amount of meat, and was crispy. The spring rolls had flavor which was good because there are times I’ve had spring rolls and they jus taste like rice paper. The peanut sauce for dipping was delicious as well ! If I could have just got the spring rolls I would have been happy with my whole meal ! I opted for the P1 which is a more simple bowl of pho with the steak and my son got the same with no meat. The broth was full of flavor but the portion was smaller than I anticipated it to be. All the veggies I received on the side were fresh. The only down fall were the noodles felt like they had been cooked before put into the broth so after a couple minutes good too mushy for my liking. All in all I was happy with my order ! We also had the pork chop which was a little overdone and had a marinade that was almost candy sweet like which after a few bites is a bit off putting. My husband got the charbroiled pork fried rice and it was ok but it wasn’t like WOW this is so good I’ll get it again. Overall I’m glad I finally got a decent bowl of pho and I’ll probably just stick to ordering only noodle soups here.

Long Life Vegi House Menu with Prices 1725 University Ave, Berkeley

So, my friend became vegan, and invited me to this Chinese restaurant that is VEGAN. I couldn’t believe it. Chinese food being vegan? Being half Chinese, and growing up with Chinese food, I couldn’t believe it. LOL **NO MSG!! :):):):) Anyway, we ordered sweet-and-sour pork, with a side of fried rice, and eggroll. Also, we ordered beef with mushrooms braised. I couldn’t believe the “beef” & “pork” actually tasted like beef and pork. I was amazed, and I still am. I am not a huge fan of sweet and sour soup, but their’s was pretty good, especially since it was vegan. Yes, they specialize in vegan food, but they also have a regular menu. I really think that is a great/smart move. More business, more money. Not only that, but a variety is good. I have yet to come back and try more dishes. Maybe it will inspire me to finally try to become vegan, and try to make different dishes, because it is really DIFFICULT to do so. My husband loves meat too, and has no intention in becoming vegan, BUT I can’t wait to have him come to this place! He will be amazed also.

Southern Vegan Soul Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2055 Eisenhower Pkwy, Macon

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! This vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurant is the same business formally known as Gourmet Goody Box. My first visit was about 10 months ago BECAUSE most of the time when I’m home or near Macon, they’re usually closed (in the evenings). But today I called to verify that’s they were open, confirmed location in Farmers Market, and made it there for lunch. Tuesday is TACO TUESDAYS – I really wanted to try the nachos, but opted for 3 of the 4 taco choices. The American taco was good, the jalapeno was a little too spicy for me, but the “steak” and cheese was THE BOMB! There are refills on the sweet tea that was just right. And I got some of the vegan chocolate chip cookies to go and shared them with my carnivore family – they LOVED them – nobody missed the eggs and butter – truly GOURMET cookies. This is definitely on my GOAT list as I still remember the wonderful jackfruit BBQ sandwich and fries from my first visit. This isn’t fast food, so expect a wait time on preparation – I would suggest calling in your order, but the menu changes daily. Yet, I saw the owner’s Instagram post that will give you the heads-up and you may be able to call ahead.
