Extremely frustrated with the lack of customer service at Boba Express. I couldn’t even believe what happened today until after I walked away! We ordered a Thai iced tea with boba and accidentally dropped it in front. It spilled everywhere and the cup was dripping and asked if we could dispose of it behind the counter. They said “there’s a trash bin behind you”. We were already standing there dripping in sugary liquid and you want us to walk another 10 feet and have us drop more liquid and create a hazard on the way over…. ok. Then we ask do you have any way to call custodial services to clean this up? They said, “yeah they’ll probably come by”. Uh alright so you just want to look at this spilled drink in front of your store. Then I ask if we could get another thai iced tea and they said they would charge us for it…. I couldn’t even believe the lack of remorse they had. This store was incapable of providing any sort of customer satisfaction when we were in distress. I’ve seen smaller businesses with more to lose and offer a drink after an accident. This is not a way to retain and gain repeat customers. I will no longer provide any sort of business here. Good luck to the individuals that work here, you won’t get very far in life by not showing sympathy.

Boba Fiend Tea House – Menu with Prices – 2262 Griffin Way, Corona

This was the only boba place we came across Riverside area as we were craving cold drinks on a hot day. This is the first boba place I have been to that serves 3 different cup sizes. They have like (small), love (medium), and fiend (large). Almost all the drinks are available in any size. The cups are wider and not tall and thin, which you get more servings than most regular drink sizes. They have specials I have not seen in any other boba spots and they were all delicious. The drinks are well blended and there are no chunks of ice cubes in the bottom of the drink from not being blended enough. The slush is more on the watery/liquid texture – which is great as you can really taste the fruit flavors. The flavors are there and the boba’s are soft, not chewy. We came in with a big order 8 drinks total and they all got it correct. They have a lot of employees working, so the long lines are always moving. The wait time is quick – we waited less than 5 minutes for all 8 drinks. They do sell small appetizer foods, but those are not always available. There are no menu boards hanging, the menus are paper laminated and they only have a few so you have to wait when one is available. They have plenty of seating: couches and tables along with TV’s. This is a small store hidden in a plaza that is not busy. You can easily miss it unless you drive into the plaza and see the sign. This place also has great customer service, I saw a lady complain about her drink that it was not made well and the workers gladly made her a new drink with no charge.

Marshall Donuts & Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 3144 N E St, San Bernardino

I always go here for the Thai Iced Tea with Boba. Super yummy. The boba is always soft and chewy and never hard. It kind of almost feels like it melts in your mouth. The Thai iced tea is always sweet but not too sweet. Honestly the best Thai iced tea I’ve ever had like nothing can compare. Showed my family this place and they love it as well. Honestly, I’ve never tried anything else from this place except the green tea smoothie and the strawberry and banana smoothie. I’ve only tried the green tea smoothie once and I did not like it. I just felt like it didn’t have any flavor like it wasn’t sweet at all. Maybe it was just that time I don’t know. The strawberry banana smoothie is also suppppppper yummy.

Thai Bistro 98 – Menu with Prices – 8200 West 98 Hwy, Pensacola

The people that works there are different from our first time there which is 6 months ago,we came back yesterday and it was so bad.We waited long time to get our water and even the time we needed to see the menu to order. As we ordered i said mine would be mild and my husband wants spicy like hot spicy bc usually thai place would ask you what type or level u want the man said we have to tell them bc they dont actually do that but weve been there and most of thai place does that it will also show on the menu. The food look so diff how it was cooked of course the taste as well did not say anything so for me to at least make it better ordered boba taro.i i said can i pls have some taro he said what kind of taro?? I said taro boba smoothie, were the only customer there we can hear the blender running long time my taro is so liquid already and he gave it to me said sorry no tapioca i said sir sorry this is not how it supposed to look and color is supposed to be purple its white and just liquid he said maybe its the weather thats why its diff smh,we left we paid everything. The insult is the worst part when you have been eating and drinking that from diff places and color and taste is very different and still you will hear lies and excuses. We are so polite to explain and i cook too I understand that some place might make it diff but theres not even a lil near of how that food supposed to be like that or the drink

Cupidone Coffee House – Menu with Prices – 3021 NE 72nd Dr #11, Vancouver

i always come here for boba because of their various non-dairy options, since i’m lactose intolerent. i can’t say much of their coffee, but they make it with boba too. they have a nice selection of flavors, but personally i like plain black tea with lychee jelly the best. some of the flavors seem a little bland. i expected the thai tea to be just a stronger black tea, but it sometimes seems a little weaker… maybe that’s just my expectations from the color, though. the blended teas are good, too. honeydew is on the more syrupy side as an iced drink, but probably perfect if you are used to that. personally, i think the fruity teas taste best blended, because they can get a little overwhelming otherwise. then again, i don’t get tapioca balls in my tea. overall, i do wish the less sweet teas had a stronger tea flavor. normal iced teas can be a little warm when they first come out, but that just means a little more stirring to be done.

Black Pearls Tea Bar Menu with Prices 2630 S Parker Rd, Aurora

I have visited this boba place multiple times since it has first opened. Initially it was very good, they have a multitude of different drinks and have recently expanded their food menu as well as finally fixing their ice cream machine. My usual drink was the Taro Milk Tea with boba and after my visit today with my friend, I will never go here again. After a very long wait, my order was called and they had messed up my order. Instead of a Taro milk tea, which the person who took my order repeated after me confirming what I had ordered, instead when I got my drink it said on the receipt Thai milk tea. I informed them that they had gotten my order wrong and when they remade my drink it was absolutely disgusting. Taro at Black Pearl is a powdered tea that requires shaking, the person who had made it did not leave it on the machine long enough because when I started drinking it, the milk and powder began to separate almost as soon as I walked out of the door. Usually the boba at this place is pretty good quality, but today it was undercooked, making it inedible. And for the final straw, I was drinking my Taro Milk Tea with Boba when I bit down on something much harder than boba. Spitting it out, it was some sort of disgusting NOT FOOD item that was like black char/paint mixed in with the boba. Looking closer at my drink I realized that there were black flecks floating in with the drink and around the straw. Sad to say their quality and service have gotten this low. Definitely avoid this place!

Around the World Cafe – Menu with Prices – 5110 Park Rd 1-K, Charlotte

We stopped by this little shop for some boba tea and was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of both the teas and ice creams. We ordered 2 Thai Milk Teas with Boba, Strawberry Milk with Boba, Milk Tea with Boba, and Hazel Nana ice cream. The Thai Milk Tea was super refreshing and the Strawberry Milk reminded me is my new favorite drink! I wish they served something similar at boba chains that are closer to me since this cafe is more local and probably isn’t a chain. The Milk Tea was also very delicious. The Hazel Nana ice cream was spectacular!! It was the best ice cream I’ve had in a while and it’s been a few days and I’m still thinking about it. It’s the best banana hazelnut flavored ice cream I’ve had in a while. Our server was also super nice and friendly while explaining menu items. The only minor complaint I have is that some of the drink menu items don’t have prices on them but their menu is written with chalk so I’m sure they could easily add the prices. Most drinks are between $3-$5 depending on the size and the drink (the pricing is similar to Starbucks). If I’m ever in the area I’m definitely stopping by again!

Nantana Thai Food & Desserts – Menu with Prices – 707 Dundas St W, Toronto

I had the Pad Thai combo with Thai Iced Tea, and it was a lot better than what I would have expected from a random storage container shop at Market 707. I enjoyed it a lot! There were very generous amounts of tofu and chicken, and it had the perfect balance of flavour without being too overpowering. The dish also came with a lime slice and red pepper flakes on the side, for those who would like to mix it up a bit. The owner does substitutions and additions for some extra money depending on the substitution. I paid a bit more for an extra portion of the pad thai noodles. The Thai iced tea was very sweet and refreshing too. It was the perfect drink to sip on during the walk back to work. I would recommend Nantana to anyone that enjoys Pad Thai and Thai food in general. It was delicious.

Phi Coffee & Tea – Menu with Prices – 3212 N Jupiter Rd Ste 115, Garland

This isn’t your standard boba shop. This is definitely much more of a coffee shop type place than somewhere to get your milk tea craving satisfied – actually, you can’t even get milk tea here. Which I thought was interesting. I asked the employee what he suggested getting since I had never been there before but still wanted to try something. He told me the most popular drink was the Thai green tea, which sounded pretty tasty since I’m a huge fan of matcha! He definitely did not steer me wrong – I really enjoyed the drink. If you’re a fan of Thai tea and matcha, this is the drink for you. It’s milky like Thai tea, semi-sweet, and filled with matcha flavor goodness. I would have given this place 4 stars had the boba been better made. It was extremely bland and way too chewy. I like my boba to be in between the consistency of soft and chewy, but unfortunately, I was chewing for too long on these little balls. There was also zero flavor, so if you just got a mouthful of boba and no tea, you’re stuck just chewing on flavorless jelly balls. It was odd. The manager also needs to staff their employees better because there was only one visible employee making all the drinks and I saw one employee in the back probably working on food orders. The poor guy was clearly overwhelmed with all the orders coming in so please cut your employees some slack and give them as much help as needed for the demand!

Boba Heaven – Menu with Prices – 3112 N Jupiter Rd suite 311, Garland

I love me some bubble tea! I’ve always passed by this particular boba store so I thought today was the day to try it out and I am glad I did. I got my usual Thai milk tea with boba no ice. There was a good boba to tea ratio for a large. The Thai tea flavor wasn’t as strong as I’ve had it at other bubble tea places so that was a bit of a let down because I like it to be more strong, it wasn’t overly creamy, however wasn’t watery either. I would preferred it to be a little bit more creamy but the level it was at was average. What I absolutely loved was the sugar level, I absolutely HATE it when my tea is too sweet to the point where you can’t even taste the tea, but this had the perfect amount without me even asking to lower the sugar level! The boba itself was a let down, I felt like half of them were nicely cooked and chewy while the other half was undercooked and had a stale center. Overall the tea was nice to drink, but the some of the partly uncooked/stake boba was not pleasant. I got the coconut smoothie for my mom, We had asked for the avocado but sadly they were out, why not branch out she thought. I had a couple of sips to try it out. There was a very very faint taste of coconut, it almost tasted like having a very watered down coconut water. Yes I know it was in a smoothie so a solid 90% of it is pure ice but it would’ve been a lot better if it had a stronger coconut flavor. That being said the flavor that was there didn’t have an artificial/syrupy coconut flavor to it, it tasted pretty clean which was a redeeming quality. I personally thought it should’ve been a little bit more sweet, but my mom seemed to enjoy the sugar level as it was. It also had a lot of dried coconut shaving bits, we both were a bit annoyed by that since it felt rough and grainy, if the shavings were larger and more chewable the experience would’ve been better. The boba had similar consistency to the one in the Thai tea. Overall this is not drink I would get again. I would probably come back to this bubble tea shop just to tryout other drinks (one being the avocado smoothie) to see if I find anything particularly amazing. **sadly did not remember to take a pic of the coconut smoothie, but to describe it I would say it was 100% artic white with boba on the bottom, with an icy consistency **

Volcano Hibachi Express & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 12515 Jefferson Ave #400, Newport News

Food is good but the customer service sucks. Nobody said anything to us coming in. No one asked for our order done just started talking. The hostess/waitress was on her phone the entire time while ringing us up. When asking us about what side of rice or if it was take out she was quite and solemn like we were an inconvenience. We spent 50$ about for 3 meals and couple appetizers to eat in. Husband went to the restroom after getting fountain drinks. Waitress came up to me and very rudely said “1 drink is $2.75” and walks away so leaving my 2 year old son at the table I go and pay for 3 drinks the only size they have and spend 10$ more. So my two year old had a drink less than half full and I paid 2.75$ for his drink along with an adult size meal for $10. When my son spilled his drink, the waitress came up, swept up ice without saying a word and walked away as I was pilling napkins on top of each other to clean up the liquid. Definitely not going again.

Boru Boru – Sushi Burrito + Poke + Bowl – Menu with Prices – 1861 W Tennessee St Unit 290, Tallahassee

This place? Astonishing. The service? Amazing. The food? Show-stopping. The boba/tea? Spectacular. This place amazes me everytime I go!! Everytime I go to Tallahassee I go to Boru Boru for boba! Now, if you’re looking for boba at a relative price, go to Pong’s- but if you’re looking for good boba, go here! The specialty boba is everything!! For 6 dollars? Amazing. Boba can be very pricey and this place does not disappoint! Plus, they ALWAYS have discounts!! The store is CUTE, the vibe is unreal. They have this book in the front of the store, where you order, and they’ll have questions for their costumers and it makes me feel at home and cozy! The staff is amazing and so helpful! They KNOW whats going on, and they KNOW the food is good! Speaking of food, their ramen is to DIE FOR! Everytime I wanted ramen in Tallahassee, I would go to Primetime, but this place is cheaper AND better!! It has so much in it and it will feed two!! (Or one if you’re THAT hungry- or if you don’t want to share!!) The only thing that I don’t like is: their plants don’t get enough sunlight! (As a plant LOVER that bothers me) but overall, this place is a MUST!

Poke Boba House – Menu with Prices – 510 S 13th St, Omaha

I’m excited that there’s finally poke in Omaha, and another option for boba. I hope that many more places open up to increase options. That being said, I’m being generous with 4 stars here because I want these places to succeed. However, if I’m comparing this place to somewhere in CA, then it’d be ranked at 3 stars. I got a 2 scoop bowl with rice, tuna, salmon and lots of toppings. Also a Thai tea boba. The food and boba were all pretty good, but nothing was great. The fish was fine, and toppings were all good. However, the employee squeezed way too much sauce onto the bowl, so the rice was saturated with it, which overwhelmed the overall flavor. Definitely monitor how much they sqeeze and let them know to stop when you want. The Thai tea was ok, and the boba itself was good. But here, just like most boba places in Omaha, they don’t have enough tea flavor in the drink. It’s too weak for me, but that’s really an issue with most places in town. Finally, I do feel like this place is a bit overpriced for the amount of food you get. It’s the only option downtown for poke, so that may play into it. Overall though, it’s an enjoyable experience and you should check it out.
