So being from San Francisco and now living in the Bay Area means I have a lot of friends and family who have very high flutting tastes regarding sushi. Yet I have taken a couple of them here when they visited me in Idaho in the past (after picking them up from the airport or while driving them to the airport in Boise), and I visited here recently again after a couple years from moving back to California. They are always very good. Extremely surprisingly so considering they are not near the ocean. Since I hadn’t been here in 2 years I forgot that they’re also incredibly generous with their rolls and that instead of the six pieces or less you get at sushi restaurants in California, you get 12 pieces here. So I ordered way too much and I took it back to my grandpa’s in Jerome, and it still held up well. He doesn’t eat sushi so I ordered from Wildfire’s menu for him. He’s very very picky and I should know from living with him for 4 years and cooking all his meals… He really liked it and thought it had been ordered from his country club just down the street and was surprised to learn that I had picked it up hours ago. Such a plus that if you don’t like sushi you can always order from their grill menu! I love sitting on the sushi side because it’s quieter and not as packed, and my servers have always been incredibly kind and phenomenal. In fact, the last time I was there I did not take my credit card back and when I realized this I was horrified because they would be closed the day I was flying out. I called them and they told me they would mail it to me in CA. Now that is crazy good customer service!

Wasabi Factory – Menu with Prices – 7415 Hardeson Rd #A, Everett

I used to frequent Wasabi factory when I was living at home a few years ago. Now I wanted to go back and try it again as it’s been a while. I remembered liking their Lion King and Volcano roll and I was craving sushi that was flame seared. I went to the place on a Friday night. It wasn’t full or packed, probably a few people at the bar and another party of 2. Their menu changed a little bit but I was craving a volcano roll and a bento box. I think they are known for their boxes as they are relatively cheap compared to other Japanese restaurants and comes with a lot of food. They have a deluxe and a regular bento box, depending on how much sushi you want and if you want a side of gyoza. I ordered the regular bento box with spicy tuna roll (comes with 8 rolls) and chicken katsu. They have other options you can order with it such as teriyaki, pork katsu, sushi, tempura; etc. On top of picking two things, you get miso soup, salad, and 4 pieces of California roll. I also got a volcano roll to share, which is a California roll seared with spicy tuna on the top. From what I could remember a few years ago, the roll was similar. I enjoyed eating the sushi as it leaves a little bit of a burnt taste. I recommend this along with Lion King if you want seared salmon, and the katana roll which is a shrimp tempura roll wrapped with tempura. The karagee was also ordered to share – it wasn’t super great as it wasn’t as crispy. Staff was friendly and food overall was great. Bento box was great for its value and I left full and content. Will be returning next time I’m in town.

Sushi California – Menu with Prices – 3441 Fort Campbell Blvd G1, Clarksville

My god how I miss this place! My husband was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY and we used to eat here all the time. The sushi was always fresh and delicious. The staff was ALWAYS so welcoming, if we were dining there, or if I was there to pick up a phone order. What I miss the most is the Oyakodon. It was AMAZING. I cannot find a place that makes it like Sushi California, here in California. No joke, if I could, I would fly there just to eat at Sushi California!

Sushi Lover – Menu with Prices – 400 W 5th St, Reno

I went here today and was so disgusted by the food and service I received here. We walked in and were greeted by no one. The sign said to wait to be seated so we waited. We stood for probably about a minute before a man (I believe the owner) finally just pointed to two seats and told us to sit down. When we sat down the man shoved all-you-can-eat menus into my hand and asked me to order. I decided to do the all-you-can eat because I love sushi. The price was nowhere listed but ended up being 21 dollars. This price did not include and appetizers or desserts. The restaurant was empty apart from me and my husband but service was still incredibly slow. But what was even worse than the service and atmosphere was the sushi. I ordered a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll (I order cooked rolls to star with when I don’t know the quality of the food) and what I got was terrible. The shrimp tempura was soaked in a sweet sauce which made it soggy and falling apart. It was cut into little pieces and mixed together. I almost gagged when I took a bite of it. I tried the California and the avocado tasted old and the roll was very poorly put together. I could barely finish one roll because of how disgusting it was. I have never left all-you-can-eat ordering less than 3 rolls, but I couldn’t even stomach the two I ordered. On top of everything, I watched the woman preparing the sushi make ours, go eat some of her food, and then make the other roll. She didn’t wash her hands or wear gloves. I was horrified. I will never return and I highly suggest you stay away. Would give 0 stars if I could

Escape Lounge ONT T4 – Menu with Prices – 2900 E Airport Dr, Ontario

What a sad airport this is now. Lots of closed stores and not much to choose from if your hungry. What’s wrong with the management here. I think they are very hostile towards the traveling citizens and are trying to distract them somehow. I remember when this was a nice airport. Look what is has turned into. A mess…… this airport should be ashamed of themselves for letting this airport get so run down. Sad for sure. Take our tax money and squander it on themselves. Let the travelers suffer. What a mess still here. The escalator has been broke for weeks!!! Really??? What kind of an airport is this??? 3rd world. Why doesn’t the coty or at least the airports make the repairs. CALIFORNIA is turning into a complete mess and this airport is leading the way there. What a shot hole of a mess here. I cannot believe how rundown this place is and all you hear the ONTARIO politicians say is how nice it is. They need to take a close look and see what this crap hold has turned into. What a mess. I am embarrassed for the airport that was once a really nice place. The escalator up has seen broken for 2 months now and you have to use the down escalator. That means when you get back you have to carry your bag down the steps. What a crap hole this airport has become. A real mess that no one cares for. Sad time 2 months and the escalator still broke. What a mess. Who is in charge here???? They should be fired!!!! Get someone that gets the job done not a loser like the person running this airport. Come on make repairs. I’m going to fly out of Orange County from now on. This airport sucks. They do not take care of it at all. Classic IE mentality. Let it go to shit like the town.

Yoki Buffet – Menu with Prices – 1145 NW Broad St, Murfreesboro

There’s just something about a clean restaurant. I appreciate that the place, compared to the previous restaurant, is a total 180 fr. This place has new owners. Hopefully the new owners stay longer and not sell out. Anyways, other than the cleanliness, they offer a very large variety of Chinese food. To accommodate kids and the local population, American food is offered as well. There are three types of food offered: sushi, stand hot Chinese food, and hibachi. I tried two out of three. I wasn’t really hungry, but the food was good. If you’ve been to a Chinese buffet, Yoki’s offers the standard fare. Therefore I picked a little bit of everything. There was the lo mein, sweet & sour chicken, sautéed green beans, and glazed button mushrooms. I picked up a few pieces of sushi as well. I wasn’t adventurous so I just got California roll, spicy tuna roll and a vegetable roll. The sushi was OK. The Hibachi is just uncooked ingredients laid out buffet style. You pick stuff, the cook sauté them all together, and puts in on a plate for you. I didn’t have hibachi at this visit. I’ll try it the next time with the family. Overall it was a good experience. The price was fair. Three people, 3 drinks, and 3 desserts it came out to be about $35. Your mileage may vary.

MEGUMI SUSHI – Menu with Prices – 20 Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto

What a lovely casual sushi spot – perfect to eat at the small counter or take out. Megumi Sushi offers one of the tastiest and freshest sushi in the Roncesvalles area at a higher quality than other sushi restaurants we visited. This restaurant is chef owned and operated – which is a huge bonus because you know they care about the food they are serving. The owner and his staff – I believe his mother – are incredibly welcoming and really want you to enjoy your experience while visiting their establishment. Their prices are reasonable. They have generous portioned lunch specials which includes salad and miso soup. My daughter, who has a healtyh appetite wasn’t able to finish her meal, which made me very happy. When in the area, drop in at Megumi Sushi, take in the owner’s smile and care and order yourself some tasty and fresh sushi.

Round Table Pizza – Menu with Prices – 7777 Warren Pkwy Suite 350, Frisco

The Last Honest Pizza is here in Texas! We moved here from California about 5 years ago, and shortly after moving here, I sadly realized there was no Round Table. I’d visit Northern California a couple times a year and always stopped in, but I’ve been wishing one would open close by. It finally has. We visited, and the staff was amazing, so friendly. One of the co-owners came out to speak with us when hearing we were from California. The Pizza, wings, bread sticks are just as I remember. The toppings on my King Arthur were fresh, generous, and cooked to perfection. We ordered a Pepperoni, and a Hawaiian Pizza as well, all perfectly delicious. It’s so good to see RT here to know we can now have a great pizza whenever we want one! And by the way, for those who were wondering.. The Last Honest Pizza is called this because it’s made fresh. No frozen dough, or cheese. Everything is made fresh daily. Texas wouldn’t know this unless you grew up listening to their ads. So it will take a little longer to make than other pizzas around here. Every Pizza is made to order, FRESH! And it’s delicious! Try it out, and enjoy! I will back over and over again! Now, when will have coupons! I used to look for my coupon every month back home! Love it!

Sushi Express – Menu with Prices – 610 University Ave, Madison

As always, Sushi Express is exactly what it claims to be-affordable sushi that is still delicious! You really can’t beat Sushi Express’ prices at $8.75 for two rolls. Although I’ve tried almost every roll there is to offer under this combo, I’d have to say my favorites are the spicy California, shrimp tempura, sweet potato tempura, and the Alaska roll. Their rolls are consistently good and fresh at a truly unbeatable price (and only $1 with no minimum for delivery!) I wouldn’t go as far to say that their sushi is gourmet or as good as, say, Red, but this place manages to offer bargain sushi that is still solid and won’t give you food poisoning. I’d also recommend the roll-combos as opposed to the specialty rolls, which are slightly less good. Sushi can occasionally arrive at room temperature but that hasn’t been a deal breaker. I’ve never been let down by Sushi Express in all 4 years of being a loyal customer. Would recommend their crab Rangoon as well-seriously the best I’ve ever had!

Rock n Roll Sushi – Menu with Prices – 1470 Taylor Rd Space# 108, Montgomery

I love this place! I’ve never dined in so I can’t really speak about the in restaurant dining experience. I’ve always come in and ordered to go and my food has always been absolutely fantastic! Fresh, delicious, well prepared, and everything I want…I love the sushi here. Whenever I come in, I’m always greeted with a nice hello…the customer service is top notch. I usually order a couple of rolls to go and they are quick and efficient with my order. I don’t customize, I pretty much stick to the menu because I love the fried/baked sushi concept. If you are more of a traditional sushi eater, they also have your standard California, spider, cucumber rolls, etc. I implore you to be adventurous, try something new with the fried sushi! It’s phenomenal and you won’t regret trying this great place. I’m so happy Montgomery is getting new restaurants, I love southern food but this is something new, fun and different.

Miso Sushi Menu with Prices 8019 Menaul Blvd NE Suite A, Albuquerque

4.75 STARS. As a sushi snob originally from California but living in ABQ 30+ years, I keep hoping for amazingly excellent sushi and Miso Sushi comes very, very, very close! The QUALITY of fish was amazing. Buttery, silky, smooth. Not a sinew anywhere. The absolutely superb quality of the fish will have me coming back repeatedly. The sushi rolls were artistically prepared when called for (i.e. rainbow roll). The plating design perfectly captured a sense of simple beauty. Even the wasabi was plated in a delicate swirl rather than the usual lump. The complements to the dish were excellent. The ice tea is a fragrant white tea and clearly fresh-brewed. No Lipton here. The broth of the miso soup was the best I’ve ever had–not overly salty and just a touch sweet. The salad blossomed with fresh, crisp, cold greens and a delightful miso/salty/sweet/vinegary dressing. My qualms (if you can even call them that) are minor. The fish on the nigiri was not quite as cold as I prefer. The sushi rice isn’t as “sticky” as it needs to be and tends to fall apart a bit too easily. When you try to dunk nigiri in soy sauce the Japanese way (fish down), the piece doesn’t hold together as well as it could. If you dunk “American” style (rice down), you can lose a chunk of the rice. (And for super-nitpicky stuff: They don’t have low-sodium soy sauce and the only artificial sweetener is saccharin.) The menu has many non-sushi items (tempura, soba, teriyaki) so you can bring your non-sushi friends. If you know sushi restaurants, you know that nigiri in combo dishes is always “chef’s choice” but the menu probably should mention that for newcomers. Service was friendly and attentive, but to be fair, Monday at lunch we were the only customers. (Waitstaff and busstaff were all fluent in English, in case that matters to you.) Decor is simple and immaculately clean. Calm music. As we were alone, I can’t comment on noise level. Two people, two rolls, 5 pieces of nigiri, 1 ice tea: total less than $40 including tip. For sushi with fish this good: bargain! I will absolutely be back and think ABQ sushi fans should try it!

Ichiban Japanese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1831 NW Broad St, Murfreesboro

Just now ordered the *sushi deluxe* on ubereats. 9 pieces of Nigri and one roll. I chose the California roll as my meal as the option. when I opened my to go order it look very good. Looked like I could put it in my mouth whole. wrong! I hope they do know that some people DO NOT LIKE WASABI because it is too spicy and over powering.. They actually put a dot of wasabi in the middle of the rice and then place the raw fish. And I didn’t want it like that but sadly there WAS NOT AN OPTION on the screen and there was not a description of what I was going to get! and a little wasabi goes a long way. Not everyone likes wasabi. so why put wasabi in the middle of the rice? To keep the the raw fish in place? excuse me what? My family owns an ICHIBAN in Port Charlotte Florida. I thought this was going to the same as theirs but nope. The California roll was alright, it’s mini size tho. I enjoyed my meal. well half, Im just really dissatisfied and disappointed in the Nigri. I will gladly stick to oishiya sushi restaurant on cason lane. Good day.

Tsukiji Fusion Sushi – Katy – Menu with Prices – 24449 Katy Fwy #400, Katy

INTRO: So I have been craving sushi for quite a while and wanted to try something new. ZP and I came here the other day to see what we could find! The restaurant is located off of i10 so it wasn’t too far of a drive. The interior was pretty normal, nothing too crazy. I did however enjoy the hand-drawn pictures of anime characters along the walls and what sounded like anime openings playing lol FOOD: I ordered 3 pieces of nigiri and half a roll which was ~$12 a little pricey but it was okay as long as I get my sushi. I got one tuna, salmon, and unagi nigiri and then the spicy lover roll which consisted of tuna, spicy mayo, salmon, avo, and crunchy topping. As soon as my plate arrived, I thought it was the perfect amount! I was excited to eat. The roll wasn’t too bad, seemed like spicy tuna (which I was okay with) but where was the crunchy? It seemed like there was missing elements to my roll and that wasn’t a good sign. I moved on to the tuna nigiri and I was quite skeptical about the fish but I took a bite anyways. Now, I used to work at a poke shop so I know how it’s supposed to look like and.. nope. This wasn’t it. The tuna was dull and looked like play-doh and broke apart in my mouth. It did not taste meaty at all, more like a gummy candy.. I tried the salmon next and again; colorless, not firm, and broke apart. Unagi was the same way except way rubbery. Not happy ? -ZP on the other hand got the beef teriyaki bento box which had slices of beef (cooked to your preference), a few pieces of california roll, veggie tempura, and choice of white or fried rice. He really enjoyed this one because the meat was very tender and everything was paired nicely together. The only issue was how big the tempura was.. a HUGE piece broccoli fried in batter isn’t appealing at all. Maybe cut it in half and have two pieces instead? Just a thought. -When you check in on yelp you are able to get a free fried banana and icecream dessert so we got one to share and I have no picture so let me tell you. It was not impressive. As soon as we brought it up to our waiter she says “the banana thing?” lol must be traumatized. We got our dessert in less than a minute and here is how it was presented! About 10 super soggy pieces of tempura fried bananas surrounding a scoup of neopolitan icecream. mmmm.. no. The batter wasn’t evenly distributed among the bananas as there were huge glops of extra batter on the sides of some pieces. OVERALL: I had an open mind to this place since I wanted to get some sushi ya know? ZP said I should have gotten a bento box as well but for one, I wouldn’t be able to finish it all and two, if I want sushi from a sushi restaurant, shouldn’t they have good sushi? I don’t think I will be back since the quality of the fish was either frozen or pretty old. Fresh fish shouldn’t break apart or look dull! It’s terrifying because it’s served raw and that should mean being extra careful!! ?
