Would absolutely go back and have raved to many people! I went for the first time today, Friday at noon. Joybox just opened three months ago so it wasn’t too busy but it will absolutely blow up in my opinion in popularity. There’s 4-6 outdoor seats and plenty of indoor seating (serviceable for large groups as well!). Ordered at the counter, and sat down at one of many of the open tables. I got a chicken teriyaki bento. $12.99 for an amazingly large platter of rice + 2 layers of teriyaki chicken + small salad + 2 deep fried dumplings + noodles + shrimp tempura + egg roll. Yes. It was a lot. See hand for scale! Joybox also has two bathrooms, and a ramp to the entrance. Plenty of parking. Free hot tea or cold water. Lots of sauces on the side available for use. Fast service. They bus your table. Nice workers. Good food. Amazing food for the price. This place is such a solid value pick that I have to give it 5 stars.

Teriyaki Express – Menu with Prices – 1402 SE Everett Mall Way # 11F, Everett

This was the worst teriyaki I’ve had in possibly my entire life. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and the chicken was tough, dry and chewy. The sauce wasn’t very appetizing and the salad was horrible. I wouldn’t even call it a salad. Also, the rice served with the teriyaki was very dry and hard. If you’re a restaurant, how do you screw up rice this bad? This is worse than a 5 years first attempt to make rice in a rice cooker at home. My girlfriend ordered the Large Bento Box. The California Roll was made with soggy, squishy overcooked rice. The avocado was brown and old. The ginger was dryer than the desert and browning already. It was probably left out uncovered for days. The shrimp tempura was absolutely disgusting. FYI, they do not clean the shrimp so they are leaving the vein (digestive track) in the shrimp and feeding it to you. It was highly overbattered and was not cooked all the way through. The batter itself did not even seem like tempura batter. It was thick and cakey. To top it off, they did not give us any sauce for it either. I am highly opposed to wasting food but this food was so bad that we ended up throwing over 80% of it away. If I could I would give this place negative stars. We will never return.

Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi – Menu with Prices – 114 N Tennessee Ave #101, Lakeland

I’d have to say over all this place is just ok. The soup that all our meals came with was the miso soup and no one at our table liked it, no one ate it. The ginger salad it dame with was good though. The crab Rangoon was AMAZING one of the best I’ve ever had. You could actually taste the sweet crab in it and not just a bunch of cream cheese. The dumplings were good as well, nothing special but we all liked them. I ordered the sushi number 2 lunch combo that came with the scorpion roll and Florida roll, they were good but not my fav only because I do not like the rolls with fried stuff, I’d prefer raw sushi. Also it said it had cream cheese in the scorpion roll but there was barley any in like 2 of the rolls and the rest had none. My con worker got the Maki lunch combo which came with a phili roll and tempura roll. The seaweed in the Phili roll was very chewy but had a great amount of cream cheese. The tempura roll was fried and it was my friends favorite of all but she still didn’t love it. The ramen was absolutely awful. It literally tasted like pork, veggies and noodles in water. It had NO flavor. My friend and I literally did not eat it. I told the waitress once and she said she would let them know in the back, when she came back to the table to ask about checks she said who’s check is the ramen going on. I asked her did you let them know in the back the ramen was awful and she said I’ll do that now. She came back with a man that had an attitude because we didn’t like it and tried to argue with me saying I’ve never had the miso broth before because they all taste like water… not true. We finally got them to take it off the bill. One more thing, my other co worker ordered a shrimp tempura roll but received a crab tempura roll. When she asked about what was in it the waitress said shredded shrimp lol. I said there is no way that is shrimp, it is red and white. It then took about 20 mins to get her correct roll.

Sakae Thai & Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 430 Chatham Heights Rd #101, Fredericksburg

Pretty disappointed. We ordered the vegetable red curry, shrimp tempura, spring rolls and drunken noodles. The curry and spring rolls we’re pretty good, shrimp tempura was ok, and the drunken noodles we’re inedible. It seems like there was some catastrophic accident in the kitchen when they made these noodles. Just gray, flavorless mush. Seems like they forgot to put about half of what they were supposed to then noodles, then cooked them into oblivion. I think they’re just trying to do too many things at this place. Either be Thai or sushi.

Teriyaki Chicken Bowl – Menu with Prices – 473 Stony Point Rd, Santa Rosa

This place is so so good! The portions are really great too. The vegetables are always just right meaning they are steamed just enough to still have that good crunch. The rice is always cooked very well and the shrimp is amazing! I usually get the Cajun shrimp teriyaki which is season incredibly. My husband gets the shrimp teriyaki and always loves it! I’ve also had the Cajun chicken teriyaki which is also pretty good although I prefer the shrimp but my cousin loved that and the chicken teriyaki. They always give a great amount of teriyaki which is so good! And their homemade chili is bomb! The staff is usually super nice unless the two younger girls are there, they seem to be bothered by everything.

Meiga Sushi – Menu with Prices – 1379 E Highland Ave, San Bernardino

Had dinner in the middle of the week here at the recommendation of my son. The restaurant was very clean and organized. At first I thought the music was too loud but once we set down at our booth it was perfect. You could have a conversation at your table but not hear other table conversations. Husband ordered seaweed salad, suchimi and an ice tea. I ordered Bentos box with teriyaki chicken, beef, gozas, salad and tempura. Orders arrive very quickly and the waitress was very attentive. The restaurant even gave us a few shrimp tempura for free. Hubby loved his meal and said the fish was very fresh and flavorful. Seaweed salad was tangy and the dressing was tangy. I enjoyed everything except the beef teriyaki (reason for the 4 stars) the beef was tuff and had a lot of grissel, which was a bummer. But the goza, chicken, rice and salad was very good. Their ginger dressing was excellent and I ended up asking for more and poured it over my rice. We ended the meal with free ice cream. Plan to eat there again.

Wok N Roll Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 16 Church Ave SW, Roanoke

I’ve tried the Teriyaki Chicken and the Teriyaki shrimp. I prefer the chicken. It’s really good!! This food is unique, it’s not like other Japanese or Chinese I’ve had before. It kind of has it’s own spin but I do really like it. It’s a BIG portion so I can easily make two meals out of one. I have not tired any sushi, but I would be more inclined to do so if they served a tuna roll

Ichiban Sushi and Thai Menu with Prices 7400 N Federal Hwy c5, Boca Raton

So disappointed. I was craving tempura shrimp and veggies. I called and ordered delivery for lunch. I requested no broccoli and asked what came with the order…”nothing. I ordered a side of chicken fried rice. I got about 8 pieces of California roll (which I don’t eat and didn’t order) some kind of wilted lettuce and cabbage(?), 2 tempura shrimp and 3 pieces of tempura veggies (one piece of onion, one piece of carrot and one piece of zucchini). So I paid $25 and change for 2 shrimp and 3 pieces of tempura veggies and fried rice. I called to let them know I wasn’t happy. The girl who answered (who also took my order) seemed really not interested. She said it was what I ordered…smh. The rice was soggy btw. Never again.

Wasabi Factory – Menu with Prices – 7415 Hardeson Rd #A, Everett

I used to frequent Wasabi factory when I was living at home a few years ago. Now I wanted to go back and try it again as it’s been a while. I remembered liking their Lion King and Volcano roll and I was craving sushi that was flame seared. I went to the place on a Friday night. It wasn’t full or packed, probably a few people at the bar and another party of 2. Their menu changed a little bit but I was craving a volcano roll and a bento box. I think they are known for their boxes as they are relatively cheap compared to other Japanese restaurants and comes with a lot of food. They have a deluxe and a regular bento box, depending on how much sushi you want and if you want a side of gyoza. I ordered the regular bento box with spicy tuna roll (comes with 8 rolls) and chicken katsu. They have other options you can order with it such as teriyaki, pork katsu, sushi, tempura; etc. On top of picking two things, you get miso soup, salad, and 4 pieces of California roll. I also got a volcano roll to share, which is a California roll seared with spicy tuna on the top. From what I could remember a few years ago, the roll was similar. I enjoyed eating the sushi as it leaves a little bit of a burnt taste. I recommend this along with Lion King if you want seared salmon, and the katana roll which is a shrimp tempura roll wrapped with tempura. The karagee was also ordered to share – it wasn’t super great as it wasn’t as crispy. Staff was friendly and food overall was great. Bento box was great for its value and I left full and content. Will be returning next time I’m in town.

Teriyaki Zone – Menu with Prices – 4927 Evergreen Way, Everett

We LOVE Teriyaki Zone! They have the BEST Teriyaki Chicken and Chow Mein I’ve ever had! The rice is nice, steamed and fresh. It’s a cute little mom and dad shop and they’re so sweet! Kinda like going to grandma’s house for lunch/dinner ? They don’t speak very well English but it doesn’t matter when the food tastes this good and how polite they are! Back to the food; the Teriyaki Chicken has a good amount of rice to chicken portion and if you ask for extra they almost triple your chicken amount for $2 more! They’re teriyaki sauce is thin and delicious! They do go a little stingy on the sauce but have more on the tables for you to do yourself. (If you ask them for extra sauce they charge you fifty cents.) The chow mein had plenty of noodles and good fresh veggies to go with it that didn’t over power the noodles! The egg rolls are delicious, the pot stickers are pretty dang good too! Too bad it’s 9:40 pm now or else I’d be heading there now to get some more! ?

Bakudan Ramen – Menu with Prices – 17619 La Cantera Pkwy #208, San Antonio

Walking in, the decor is beautiful. I love the touch of Japanese culture. It’s not a very big space so if you want a seat, you better get there before 6pm. We had a great server. I don’t know his name but he was very knowledgeable and helpful in letting us know what items are popular, spicy, and his favorite. We went with a party of 8. The majority chose to get the Ramen. My son and I got the Bibimbap. We also tried various appetizers. My daughter got the vegetarian ramen. She said it was bland and had to keep adding soy sauce, which gave it a better flavor. My son got the combination bibimbap with noodles. He really enjoyed it, he loved the flavor. My hubby got the garlic tonkotsu. He was a little disappointed. Although it came out looking deliciously beautiful. It was just beautiful. He said it needed more salt. There was no flavor. He said it was meh. I had the bibimbap with shrimp and noodles. It was DELICIOUS! It did not disappoint and it had plenty of flavor. I did find that the shrimp was a little on the salty side but nonetheless very good!! My hubby and I traded dishes after a while. After tasting his dish, I really did not like it as much as I thought I would. You can definitely taste the garlic but that was the only flavor that I tasted. As much as I love garlic, this was not the best flavor for this fish. On the other hand, my hubby was satisfied with the rest of my dish. We also had the Bakudan edamame, octopus balls, gyoza, and shrimp tempura. The edamame was very good, not spicy at all. The octopus balls were interesting, not a favorite. Nobody liked the consistency or texture of this appetizer. The gyoza was nothing great. The tempura shrimp was the best item out of the appetizers. Overall, this place was alright. I would go back for the shrimp tempura, edamame, bibimbap, and the “Coke” (the use a local vendor for their sodas). Not sure what they put in their cola but I drank like 3 glasses! I don’t really drink soda so that really surprised me. Anyhow…I will be back again, at least I know what to order now.

Takeshi Sushi – Menu with Prices – 9650-41 Main St, Fairfax

This place is a disgrace and a sad excuse for a restaurant. Having had their doors open for only a month, they are clearly unprepared and not trained properly on how to provide quality customer service or quality food. Why are CHINESE people even attempting to run a Japanese restaurant? Let’s begin with the water which came out of the sink with no ice, so it tasted like disgusting lukewarm swamp water. Then I asked for a coke and I am given a plastic bottle of coke that comes out of a typical vending machine and a empty glass no ice. We take a look at the menu and the menu you can tell it’s printed off of a bad printer that was running out of ink and all the items on the menu had letter and numerical value as well. For example “CS1” or “R18”. Makes you feel like you’re at the DMV. When I try to order my food I said the name of the item “shrimp tempura roll” and the sever says you want a”R18″? Yeh whatever I want a shrimp tempura I don’t care how you calculate it on your own piece of paper or however you want to write it. I felt like I was forced to talk in their “language” because otherwise i would be misunderstood. Oh not to mention that they have 2 shrimp tempura rolls with two different “code names” and when I asked what’s the difference the server had no clue. She went to ask and basically said they were the same. I order the roll along with 2 others and when my order came out instead of shrimp tempura I received a sweet potato roll. I ask the server why did I get this when I clearly ordered a shrimp tempura and she says (without me even having the menu in front of me) “you order R14 right?” … what ??? No I said I ordered a SHRIMP TEMPURA not whatever R bullshit y’all call it. We asked to also order the Pork buns and we were told they did not have that available. They also do not have a alcohol license either. Why did you even open your doors if you are not prepared ?? When it came to my mistaken roll, we said we just wanted to leave it because at that point I just wanted to get out of there. The server INSISTED that she gets us the shrimp tempura roll and i said I want it to go because I couldn’t stand being there anymore. SHE BRINGS US THE CHECK AND CHARGES US FOR THE SHRIMP TEMPURA ROLL AND TAKES OFF THE MISTAKEN ROLL. Why are you even charging me for something I said I don’t want anymore ???? She brings me a to go container and she brings me a ROUND plastic bowl and a SQUARE top. I showed her that they don’t fit and she looked at me like I had 3 heads. My boyfriend had the ramen which he did not enjoy. Said it tasted like instant ramen out of a box. Nothing in it tasted fresh. Not to mention I noticed that they had a toaster oven which they used to heat up food. Ew. Seriously I hope this place gets shut down.

Sushi Gone Wild – Menu with Prices – 24004 Vista Montana, Torrance

[Review #392] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (42/100) I enjoyed a fantastic dinner with fellow Yelper, Eriko N., who is also connected to the owner, Mr. Kim. She said I had to meet this cool guy… our ritual girls night out was spent at Sushi Gone Wild. No, this isn’t “girls gone wild,” but it’s a family-friendly & easygoing establishment that makes you feel welcomed. Last night, we had 3 plates of sushi: MONSTER ROLL (in: shrimp, crab; out: spicy tuna, avocado, eel, teriyaki sauce, onion, smelt egg, sesame seed, sriracha), NINJA MAKI ROLL (5 kinds of fish & crab, mango; out: cucumber with ponzu sauce & Japanese dressing), & LOBSTER (CRAWFISH) ROLL (in: shrimp tempura roll, crab; out: baked crawfish, onion, smelt egg, teriyaki sauce, sesame seed, pepper mayo sauce). This isn’t your traditional omakase sushi restaurant with fish flown in from around-the-world’s oceans… Sushi Gone Wild serves up unique rolls that’s atypical of Urasawa, n/naka, or Nozawa Bar, they’re more mom & pop with a decent size menu of classic & specialty rolls. The Ninja Maki Roll was light & refreshing, & it reminded me of the Oishii Roll at ODS. The Monster Roll was a monster of a roll that’s just savory & spicy enough. I really liked how the pepper mayo binded the ingredients of the Crawfish Roll & the crispiness of the shrimp tempura… no, it’s not lobster; I think they should just rename the dish as Crawfish Roll. We finished the night with a ball of GREEN TEA TEMPURA ICE CREAM; I really like the taste of the batter, but it was slightly too thick. Halfway through dinner, we ran into a couple of friends & joined our tables. It was a fun night with great company, & Mr. Kim, the owner, bought a couple rounds of sake! I, Kim, even got a pic with Mr. Kim… LOLã?½(*â?¿*)ã?? I’m guessing he’s very popular & has a lot of regulars because a lot of customers were toasting him. =) If you’re looking for quality sushi rolls & a chill vibe, then look no further than Sushi Gone Wild & its friendly staff serving up delish food. For a small sushi joint, they were jam-packed all night long until closing so come early & grab a seat! Recommended: Lobster (Crawfish) Roll & Ninja Maki Roll.
