Stopped by here today for their soft-opening. The restaurant is well decorated and feels tidy. There’s an upstairs area, probably for reservations or large parties, but the main dining area is on the ground floor and can seat around 20-25 guests. Our waiter was kind and our service experience was good. Since it was just the two of us, we order the pork baozi, stirfry with vegetables, and two cups of black tea. Although it didn’t take us long to be seated, there was quite a bit of time between when our order was placed and when our food arrived. Ambiance Tea: Tea can be purchased by cup, but not by pot. The two options for hot tea are green & black. Our tea bags came with our order so we could choose how long to steep it. We both liked our tea. *Beware: The string of the tea bag it lightly wrapped around the handle of the cup. I thought it was a considerate detail, but husband missed it and ripped part of the string when he tried to move it. Stirfry: Although there are several options (beef, chicken, shrimp, etc.), we went for vegetables. It’s good to note that the stirfry is NOT vegetarian. The stirfry is super delicious! Husband gave this one 5 stars, but I found it a little salty & oily for my taste. Pork Baozi: For those of you who don’t know, these are your “soup dumplings”. I want to say there are 10 to an order, but I’m not sure because by the time I had plated myself some noodles, husband had eaten more than half (I’m glad I got three!). Needless to say, these are tasty. Vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, which are available on the tables and the bar, can be added on top. Since we walked, I’m not sure about the parking situation, but I’m sure there’s a garage nearby. They have a bit of an outdoor courtyard so I think they may have outdoor seating in the future, but then again maybe they’ll use it to corral their future lines (lol!). I’m looking forward to coming here again and trying more of their menu. *Parties of five or more will get an automatic 15% gratuity charge. *Cash preferred for bills under $15. *Forgive the typos on their temporary menus…

Madcap Coffee Company – Menu with Prices – 1413 Farmer St, Detroit

VEGAN OPTIONS – Yes. Almond and oat milk. This big, bright and airy coffee spot is my new favourite in downtown Detroit. The space is huge with super high ceilings, the ability to order inside or walk up to the outdoor facing counter, and some patio seating in the little alley area to the side. Bonus – the staff is uber friendly. Now let’s get to the coffee. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was great. My husband ordered a mocha, and it was *delicious*! I’m not normally a fan of mocha drinks, but this one was a total hit and I would order it again in the future. The consistency and flavour of the drinks were on point. Definitely worth going out of your way for. Will return in the future whenever we’re back in town.

Halal Dynasty Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 172-33 Hillside Avenue #A, Jamaica

This is the second time when I ordered food, I found metal string that they clean pots with in my food. First time when when I ordered beef fried rice they had a long metal string in my food. I was so hungry and was eating my food so fast that I missed the metal string until it got caught in my teeth and scratched my gum. I complained to the owner and they said “oh it’s probably the sponge they clean with and it was left behind”. This is unacceptable!! What if I swallowed that metal string? I still forgave them and they re did my order. Once again today I found similar metal string in my food today. I am so upset that they didn’t change their behavior. It made me feel like my first incident was meaningless. I called the owner again and complained about it. They apologized and redid my order. What if someone actually swallows the metal string and it can be deadly. Look at that metal on the lower right corner:(((

Lula’s Neighborhood Grill – Menu with Prices – 4821 Yosemite Blvd, Modesto

This place was great the first time and terrible the second. Lying owners. I order a burger combo and a western bacon burger with shoe string onion rings. I was rung up for my order as if everything was ok. I watched the cook, cook our burgers and smash them so many times to speed up the cooking process which relieves the juice from the party leaving a burger that is dry and no juice. I got home to beer battered onions instead of shoe string, I called back and let the lady know I order shoe string and got regular. She then informed me “oh yea, cause we ran out” so I was never informed you ran out at the register and proceeded to take my money. After I called and opened my western burger and guess what. THERE SHOE STRING ONION RINGS IN MY BURGER. So they didn’t run out. I usually don’t mind for accidents like this if the people own up to their mistakes but, The one thing I hate about restaurants is when they lie. It makes them look stupider. Threw my food away due to nasty dry burger. Thanks for nothing

Dierbergs Bakery – Menu with Prices – 2532 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis

Close to home. Good fruits and vegetables and I can find everything so easy. Best cakes ever for any parties!

BENTO Kissimmee – Menu with Prices – 3254 Margaritaville Blvd, Kissimmee

My husband and I checked this place out the other day with our 1 year old. It part of the new Sunset Walk at Margaritaville. I’ve very much enjoyed Bento on Sand Lake and in Gainesville so I was excited to check out this new location closer to my home. There isn’t a lot of parking immediately by the restaurant though there is pretty big lot behind the gift shop that is adjacent to Bento. It is a pretty small location as well and it was quite crowded when we arrived at 6pm on a Monday. It was also very loud. My husband had never been so we grabbed a high chair, which they thankfully have plenty of and grabbed a seat. As I said it is small and quite crowded so there was literally two options for places the two of us could sit with a high chair. We then looked over the menu and chose accordingly. If you haven’t been to Bento you pick whether you want a Poke Bowl, Rice Bowl, Noodle Bowl, or Bento Box. Then you choose meat, sauce, and any extras. You order at the counter, are given a number to place on your table and then food is brought to your table. Our food came out very quickly which was great. My husband had a salmon poke bowl. He said the salmon was great and for the price he felt he got a great deal of meat. He was less impressed with the rest of the bowl, but said he enjoyed it enough to come back he would just try something different. I had a Mongolian beef Bento Box. The noodles and rice were great. The Mongolian sauce was a bit sweet for me. I prefer PF Changs or Pei Wei, but I have previously really enjoyed the Chicken Katsu and Spicy Korean so I think I just won’t order the Mongolian again. The salad had very little dressing, but they were more than happy to get me more. We ordered the kids bento box for my son which for $6 comes with chicken, rice, and string beans. It’s a nice portion for a nice price though I couldn’t get my son to eat any of the string beans. Finally, I had a taro bubble tea which tasted a bit watered down. Overall it wasn’t bad and some of our issues were of our own making. Other issues could be the newness. We will most definitely try it again.

Kacey’s Home Cooking – Menu with Prices – 10017 S Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville

My husband and I nearly stuffed ourselves into a food comma at Kacey’s Home Cooking. As a Las Vegas resident, I’ve yet to experience a buffet that seasons it’s food like they do. For less than $10, you can eat to your hearts content. From the chicken fried steak, to the fried green tomatoes, and the pork-less collard greens, everything is delicious. None of their vegetables are prepared with pork, which can be rare in the South. My husband raves about the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and buttery rolls. We eat so much food, that there was no room for dessert. Our server was a sweetheart, but her name escapes me. She kept our cups full and made occasional small talk with us. If this restaurant were in Vegas, it would put the other buffets to shame. Don’t get me wrong, this is a no frills kind of place, but the food is soulful.

Railroad Square Craft House – Menu with Prices – 644 McDonnell Dr, Tallahassee

I was excited to return to my former stomping grounds! As I sipped through a flight of beer, it was difficult to avoid comparing the Yard to the old Proof, though they are quite distinct. (We spent a lot of time and money there!) Ironically, Proof beer is still on draft and the beer selection is Florida-focused. Justine, one of the owners, proudly told me that I had just missed a No Doubt tribute band. Truthfully, I didn’t realize the Yard was open and I don’t think that many others do either. The black building is now painted with yellow accents, other than that, it looks quite similar to its predecessor with outdoor tables and string-lights. It’s a gorgeous space to enjoy a drink outside and enjoy the weather or live music. They have options aside from beer and Tally Thai was cooking up crab wontons and wings at a booth in the corner when I was there last Thursday. The Yard will be CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS after Cinco de Mayo and plan to reopen August 2019. They’re expanding and installing a new stage. There’s talk of a food hall. They’re even collaborating with a brewery in South Florida on a house beer to be offered later down the road. The owners have big dreams and an eclectic taste in music. I’m excited to come back and can’t wait to see a show here after the renovations!

Black Out Caféâ?? – Menu with Prices – 5128 Southern Ave SE, Washington

I have used Black Out Cafe’s catering services from small family dinners to midsize parties and have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious and the services are top notch! My family and I have been getting weekly meals (lunches) for about a year now. Every week there is something new and mouthwatering! Black Out Café also has a curbside pick-up service. It’s convenient and that menu has something for everyone.

Coffee House New Orleans – Menu with Prices – 1522 Robert E Lee Blvd Suite B, New Orleans

Many nights I crave a semi healthy home cooked meal and have no idea where to go because let’s be honest, there aren’t many options in this city for that other than Piccadilly or Whole Foods hot bar (correct me if I’m wrong). When I saw the Fud bar open up and peeped their menu options, I was delighted. I’ve been numerous times now and have yet to be disappointed with my meals. My go to meal is the rotisserie chicken which comes with 3 sides and some type of lemon glaze that is delicious. I usually rotate between the creamed kale and spinach, roasted sweet potatoes, Mac n cheese when I’m feeling bad, or the sautéed vegetables which are cooked to perfection. I don’t know what they are doing back there in the kitchen, but I have yet to be able to get my veggies to taste as amazing as they make there’s. I’ve also had the shepherds pie which is sooooo good as well as the pork carnitas quesadillas with green rice. My husband recently had the Cuban sandwich and said it was a bit rich, yet delicious. If you are in the area and are looking for something healthyish yet good, I definitely suggest coming here.

Lydia’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1710 Rural St #3, Rockford

I’ve lived in the area for several years now and for some reason today was my first time eating at Lydia’s Cafe. I will be eating there again. Based on the outside, I was expecting just another greasy spoon diner. But once my husband and I entered, I was surprised to see that it was very nice inside. It is small, but I never felt crowded. I was also impressed with the menu. While they did have your standard options of hashes and omelette, most were combinations that I had not seen before. My husband ordered the Jackson, an omelette with bacon, roasted artichoke, spinach, red onion, black olives, and feta cheese. I ordered the James, an omelette with pulled pork, green onions, butternut squash, and cheddar cheese. We both really enjoyed our meals, although I thought the butternut squash was odd in an omelette. The next time we go there I plan on ordering The Symbol, grilled portobello with Gorgonzola, spinach, tomato, and eggs. They also offer burgers, sandwiches, salads, and Tex Mex options. Finally, my husband and I both enjoyed the names of most of the dishes. That may seem odd to say, but most of the dishes are named for roads, places, or things from the Rockford area, which we thought was a nice touch. If you are looking for breakfast in the Rockford area, Lydia’s Cafe is definitely worth checking out.

Vasachy’s Restaurant and Catering Menu with Prices 2445 b E 25th St, Baltimore

I’m sorry but it was so dissapointing. Last time I ordered from there the food was stupendous, which is what compelled me to order again. This time the food was horrible. I ordered chicken macaroni and cheese and string beans. The chicken was battered and salted too much not to mention a couple of pieces were under copked to where you saw blood, it was pink. Macaroni and cheese was just opposite, not seasoned enough. The string beans were good however, you got to a certain portion the beans were almost shredded kind of like if someone had chewed it up and spit it out.I know u all can do better than that….I’VE HAD IT.

Hollywood’s One Stop Shop – Menu with Prices – 3342 Winter Lake Rd, Lakeland

Hollywood One Stop catered my wifeâ??s surprise baby shower earlier this month and they did an amazing job. We expected 50 plus people for the event and we had plenty of food. Everyone was able to eat as much as they wanted. Our spread was Fried Chicken, Baked Chicken(Tha Bomb), MAC and Cheese, GREENS!!!!, Yellow Rice, Some of the Best Potato salad I have ever ate, You gotta get the cornbread muffins Iâ??m still craving them to this day. The pineapple lemonade set everything off in the right way. The customer service was amazing made me at ease the whole way leading up to the event. I will be using Hollywood One Stop again for work parties and any other parties in the future. I canâ??t say enough about this place and the price was definitely reasonable for the amount of love they put in the food.
