This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant on the East side. It’s located in the former Scotty Brown’s location on NE 8th and 405, with free parking downstairs as well as across the street in the Elements building. I’ve been parking here for free for years and have never gotten a ticket or citation. First off, their prices are decent for being in downtown Bellevue. Combined with their happy hour specials until 6pm, you can get cheap drinks and appetizers. And what’s not yet indicated on their menu or website is that they’re now offering late night happy hour starting at 9pm as well. In terms of the service, I’ve been here about 4-5 times and one of the servers already remembered my order. Last night we were waited on by Adriana who was very friendly, attentive, and readily fixed a small mistake in our food order. The food is also great. They provide free chips and salsa, and the salsa is perfect every time – it’s not too mild not too hot. I’m also not a fan of most Spanish rice dishes, but what they serve here I really like. I also usually opt for the picadillo in either a burrito or chimichanga, which is flavorful and they don’t skimp on the portions. The atmosphere here is also great. They have an open kitchen, centrally located bar, and fire pits on the patio during the warmer nights. All in all, a great new addition to Bellevue!

Tony Pepperoni – Menu with Prices – 805 College Blvd, Oceanside

Cool place to watch the game and have a drink. It’s a bit smaller than the Aliso location but they lots of good quality tvs and tables available. There are a few arcade games in the back area. They have gluten free crusts for pizza but they only have medium and large size so come hungry or with a friend. The crust is cooked well and even my glutenious husband said it tasted pretty good. They also have a plethora of gluten free drink options. It’s not a full bar but they have bottled Ace Pineapple cider, Ace Pear Cider, Angry Orchard Crisp Apple, and a variety of White Claws. They also have Salmon Creek wine as their house wine which is pretty delicious. Their non- happy hour prices are not that bad too actually. Happy hour is Mon-Fri 3-5:30pm. Staff has always been very friendly. I was really grateful when I had asked about a certain sauce being gluten free that they actually brought out the bottle with the ingredients on it for me to look at. It is located to the right of the Walmart and to left of the Navy Credit Union. Parking is easy and plentiful.

Fiesta Del Mar – Menu with Prices – 11320 E 21st St, Tulsa

Fiesta Del Mar is an unassuming restaurant located in a strip shopping center just east of 21st & Garnett. It’s not a large place and has perhaps a dozen booths in which to sit. It’s clean, but there’s a lot of stuff on the counters and walls so it feels a little cramped. Do not let that influence your decision to visit and enjoy this restaurant. The chips are made from corn tortillas that have been cut into quarters and fried. They have body. I like them that way. The salsa is thin but tasty (not chunky). The rice is more of a white rice with some veggies and peppers in it. The refried beans are very good and are made fresh. I had a wet burrito (pollo) which had a salsa verde over it. Once I got past the heat (temperature) I enjoyed the flavors of the chicken and sauce. All together it was really very good. My friend got chicken fajitas which looked incredible. I’ll try that next time!Years ago I ate here and the following happened… I stood at the register paying for my meal and I asked if they had a menu that I could take with me to show to my co-workers. The lady at the register obviously didn’t understand my question due to our language barrier, so she turned around and said something in Spanish to a second lady at the grill. The second lady immediately went to the office and got who I assumed was the father, an older man, who walked across the kitchen and into the dining room where he said something in Spanish to a family that was sitting there. The 10 year old (grandson?) came back into the kitchen and up to the register and said, ‘What were you wanting?’ I asked him if there was a photocopy of their menu that I could take with me. He turned and said something in Spanish to the first lady and she smiled and said, ‘AAAAHHHH! No.’ I’ve always loved this place, and don’t eat here often enough.

Super Burger – Menu with Prices – 600-698, S 10th St, McAllen

Ok so finaly made it to this restaurant… after many of my coworkers saying great things i had to try it out. Ok so this first part is important to me and other that dont speak Spanish. I love little restaurants but always fear the hassle of going to them cause i dont speak spanish and sometimes they dont speak English. Make for a rough time and sometimes just easiest to just goto where i know i can order without a hassle.with that being said the waiter speaks good enough english to handle the interaction and did give me a stupid look when i said i dont speak spanish. Disclosure i am not judging them just is what it is. Ok so the food is great fajita tacos homemade corn tortillas made grill and fresh onion with cilantro. Had to test out the wings since I was there got lemon pepper chicken wings. Not gonna say the best weeks ever but i would 4sure eat them again if want some wings. The salsa they give you with the free chips is spicy and great tasting. Will definitely be going back very soon !

El Pueblo Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 24400 Walnut St, Santa Clarita

Great breakfast. Without a doubt we will be back. Located alongside Results Fitness, our literally world class gym, across from The Egg Plantation. This restaurant is a nice 1.5 mile walk from my house. I had huevos rancheros and her Ladyship had French Toast with fresh fruit. Both were great. I’d order extra salsa next time and maybe two corn tortillas to finish the rice and beans with. And I’d be prepared to pay extra for the extras. Coffee was great too, really great, in a huge cup. It seems coffee is included in the already very reasonably priced breakfast. At least it didn’t appear on the bill. Added benefit is it’s a great place to practice my Irish accented Spanish.

Rincon Catracho – Menu with Prices – 3324 Williamson Rd, Roanoke

I have gotten rice and beans take out and it’s perfect. Quick and tasty. The servers are so nice, I just love going in. I don’t speak any Spanish, no problem, everyone there’s knows English. The food is fresh as can be, and the portions are surprisingly large! I love ordering the house made fresh guacamole. The “salsa” tastes like ketchup which really amuses me, cause I know this little kid from Honduras and he LOVES his ketchup (which he calls “salsa”) something is lost in translation with the ketchup- salsa connection! maybe I should order “pico de gallo” if I want tomatoes and onions and cilantro etc Anyway, this restaraunt has ample seating for big parties and cozy seating for small tables. The restrooms are nice. The restaraunt is big , and it’s really easy to find on Williamson Road. Parking’s no problem. I’ll check next time (tonight!?) to make sure but I’m 99%sure it’s wheelchair accessible. I really hope this restaraunt sticks around. Good luck Catrachos and Catrachas!

Tropical Smoothie Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2075 Cecil Ashburn Dr SE, Huntsville

My Girlfriend and I wanted to try this place the other day after a long hike through Monte Sano. We both wanted a smoothie. I pulled up into the drive thru and placed my order. After waiting behind a truck for over ten minutes at the pickup window I pulled out of the drive thru to park and went inside. I immediately noticed that one girl Adriana, was talking to her friend and on her phone not lifting a finger, while the other poor girl working was doing all the work. The truck ahead of me had ordered multiple smoothies and food items. Adriana asked if she could help me and I explained that I had placed an order in the drive thru. She had no idea where my ticket was and seemed slightly annoyed that she had to help me. After almost fifteen minutes of waiting for my order that had not been started I walked out and left out of frustration.

Los Potrillos – Menu with Prices – 8825 Evergreen Way, Everett

I finally decided to stop into Los Potrillos for lunch after driving by this restaurant for years. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Lunch menu is offered daily from 11am-3pm. Los Potrillos offers a full drink menu; however, doesn’t offer a bar/lounge. I prefer to sit in the lounge rather than the restaurant area. Complimentary chips, salsa and pico are offered to snack on while looking over the menu. The chips were harder than I like. The salsa thin and watery. The pico was good. I ended up mixing the salsa and pico together. For lunch I ordered the #4 One Burrito for $8.25: ground beef burrito served with rice and refried beans. I opted out of the rice since I do not care for Mexican rice and requested additional beans in replacement. The burrito was bland in taste with an odd cheese that didn’t seem to melt thoroughly. The beans were delicious – my favorite part of my lunch. During my visit, several families with small children dined here. Large parties can be accommodated. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive. Overall, Los Potrillos offers decent sized meals for reasonable prices. Personally I will not return to Los Potrillos for a couple reasons, one being the lack of a bar/lounge and the second being the poor chips and salsa.

Cépaé Tasting Room Menu with Prices 258 106th Ave NE, Bellevue

Just visited Cepae last night as part of Yelp’s Winery Adventure tour. This event was for Yelp elites, a night of tasting and bites. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, and you can tell they truly care about the business and educate while they serve with a smile regardless of your experience or wine knowledge. There is free 2-hour parking in the Soma Towers garage which is really convenient as well. It isn’t your validation style, you simply park, go to the machine by elevator and print out a 2 hour retail receipt and place it on your dash. Need more than 2 hours? Go back and print another! Just don’t get caught over-time, I hear its a $70 ticket. The space at Cepae is beautiful, well-decorated with a good mix of fancy flair while remaining casual and inviting. Surely somewhere you can bring a date, or stop in after work for some wine and bites. The wine selection seems incredible, and I can’t wait to come back to try more. I really enjoyed the sparkling rose, perfectly refreshing and flavorful- would love to keep that flowing this summer. The other wine I tried was a fantastic cotes du rhone- dry and well flavored. The cheese, bread, and bites paired excellently with the social atmosphere and wine flow- and made for an overall exciting and enjoyable event. Happily adding Cepae to my list of go-to winebar stops in Bellevue. Cheers!

La Michoacana Homemade Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 609 Kishwaukee St, Rockford

I believe it is located in the Spanish neighborhood, because everything was in Spanish and the girls behind the counter had a heavy Spanish accent and couldn’t translate names of some very exotic fruits they use for these ice cream….but it does not matter, everyone was so nice and helpful! I was smiling all the time when there. So many choices..and not only ice creams. And they had options with milk and no milk (just water). Great place, delicious ice creams!

LUCIO/Wine Shop – Menu with Prices – 207 NE 82nd Terrace, Miami

Are you looking for a little gem of a wine store in Miami Shores, with very reasonable prices, nice selection of predominately Spanish wines and a charming son and mom duo? Look no further! I’m always happy to support local small businesses, and I think this one is going to be a real WINEr (uh, winner)! My husband and I have made two trips here within the last week. Charcuterie plates are to go, nice selection of international food products, and they will organize wine tastings for you. To top it off if you’re looking for some lovely morroccan/ spanish/ japanese pottery, or gift for someone, well there’s that as well. Lucio is a chef and I mentioned that I really love a great spanish tortilla, and he said call me up and I’ll make it for you! Located right next to Miami Theater Center. Please, please give them a try, I promise you’ll walk out with something more than just a smile.

Noah’s NY Bagels – Menu with Prices – 311 N San Fernando Blvd, Burbank

This adorable Noah’s Bagels with indoor and outdoor seating is located in the heart of downtown Burbank on San Fernando Road. There is free street parking right out front and free city lots close by. I visited on an early Tuesday morning to pick up a few dozen bagels and schmear to take to work. Street parking was easy. The store was not busy. The vibe was social and relaxed. My wait was about 5 minutes. The menu was located above the counter. The counter glass display housed several delicious and fresh bagels in numerous flavors (cheese, cinnamon sugar, wheat, sourdough, chocolate chip, jalapeño, plain, blueberry, fresh toast, etc.). Specialty bagels were also available for an additional cost. The refrigerator held a good selection of schmears (strawberry, plain, garden vegetable, jalapeño salsa, honey and almond, garlic and herb, smoked salmon, and onion and chive). Some schmears came in regular and reduced fat. Other menu items included eggs, fish and favorites, beverages, and deli sandwiches. My bagels were fresh and delicious. The schmears were flavorful and lite. Everyone at the office was happy. Prices were reasonable. Service at the counter was outstanding! The lady who helped me was patient, friendly, and helpful. Happy I chose this NB for my bagels to go!

Cypress Coffee Company Menu with Prices 3080 148th Ave SE #113, Bellevue

I was going to meet up with some friends in the Bellevue area and was looking for a cafe to camp out for a few hours when I stumbled upon Cypress Coffee on yelp. Unlike other coffee shops around the Bellevue area, which primarily requires street or garage parking, Cypress Coffee actually has its own private parking lot, which is a huge bonus for someone like me who is absolutely incompetent at parallel parking. The coffee shop is nestled in between two car dealerships (Toyota and Volkswagen). The GPS definitely left me confused when it led me to Toyota, but the lots are all connected so you can just drive through the dealership to get to the coffee shop. Very friendly staff, great menu, and a chill and calming atmosphere. Great place to meet with friends or to get some work done. I loved the garage styled windows, which they left open since the weather was nice. Got some nice vitamin D. I ordered the lavender latte, which isn’t on the menu but available if you just ask. I had one shot espresso, and it was pretty strong. Gender neutral bathrooms available in the back. Really nice place, will come back again.
