I flew in from Chicago and stopped by this very local place for lunch. Wow! Best seafood I ever had. Better than top restaurants like Eddie V Or Catch 35 or Hugo’s frog bar. The chef really knows how to make the sauce to compliment FRESH FRESH FISH. As matter of fact you can pick out your fish as this a fish market before it was a restaurant. The fish is cooked to perfection- which means it is NOT overcooked. Prices are very low and the place is very basic. But the food is 5 STARS.

Constitution Seafoods Menu with Prices 8 Seafood Way Unit 1, Boston

Constitution seafood as named has to be the greatest seafood supplier in southie. Fresh seafood from oyster to lobsters, and just about any type of fish and with todays economy I find the prices very reasonable. I would highly recomend constitution seafood to anyone looking for the freshest seafood. Five stars is not enough for this establishment.

Fresno Seafood Company – Menu with Prices – 2327 N Fresno St #106, Fresno

The name of this business is deceiving. When you hear “Fresno Seafood Company” one might think you can go here to buy fresh seafood and they are the #1 resource in the central valley to do so. Unfortunately that is not the case. Yes they sell fresh seafood, but it is not a huge selection that you might think when you hear “Fresno Seafood Company” You will find a a much better selection over at Island Pacific Supermarket or SF (Shun Fat) Market. I did not compare prices though so who knows, maybe the sell it cheaper here than the aforementioned. Don’t get me wrong though I’m not saying the selection is bad, I was just expecting an expansive selection of fresh seafood that beats supermarkets. That is not the case. But what they do have is fresh. I would say call before hand on what they are selling. Another dimension of this place and where they shine is the cooked food. Good ol’ fried food. Fish and chips are a great deal here. Freshly battered and fried and super tender fish. Very generous portions for a good value. They have tons of other freshly cooked food items. Not just seafood but also meats. They also have some other packaged stuff for sale. So the identity of this place needs work, but what they are doing right now works. The workers are nice and friendly and easy to talk to and ready to help. But most importantly the food is legit, and sometimes that is all that matters.

Colonel De Gourmet Herbs & Spices – Menu with Prices – 1801 Race St, Cincinnati

So you’re at Findlay market, or the new Jungle Jim’s at Eastgate. You just bought some meat and vegetables because, hey, it’s Findlay market, release your inner foodie! But then you get that “in in way over my head” feeling because you’ve never actually roasted a duck before and you aren’t really sure what parsnips even taste like. What are you going to do?! The friendly, mustache rocking, Cornel D will save you. I (and maybe you too) know nothing about spices and would waste all that amazing fresh food I bought by smothering it with BBQ sauce. This guy knows spices. His staff knows spices too. He’s going to make you look like an excellent cook. He even makes excellent cooks look like even more excellent cooks. The things is; he doesn’t just stick his nose in the air and tell you how exotic and wonderful his spices are (even though they are). He can teach you how to select and use them. Since you’re at Findlay Market getting your fresh produce every weekend, you only need to buy a little bit of spice at a time. As a matter of fact, don’t stock up! If you buy in small quantities (they totally don’t mind), you’ll get the freshest spices and you can mix it up with new flavors every once in a while instead of using the same old jar of oregano that you inherited from your great grandmother. Now you can take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy something home-cooked to perfection.

Mr. Fish Seafood Market – Menu with Prices – 6307 N Kings Hwy B, Myrtle Beach

***THIS IS THE SPOT YOU NEED TO COME TO FOR FRESH FISH AND GREAT PORTIONS*** We had one goal for ourselves foodwise when coming to Myrtle, and that was to get fresh seafood. We deliberated on whether or not we should check out one of the MANY seafood buffets but ended up finding this place instead. I cannot stress this enough: this place is HEAVEN for the seafood lover. Everything you get is incredibly fresh, ans the portions are fanstastic as well. I tried a little bit of everything–the fried grouper was crunchy and soft, not overly oily; the seared scallops literally melted in your mouth; the salmon was HUGE and well seasoned; the crab cake had massive chunks of crab in it; the grilled mahi mahi was meaty and steak-like, yet soft and smooth; and the buffalo shrimp…well, there aren’t enough words. This place is special because it is unassuming and knows its craft well. It’s a seafood market as well, so you can even grab your taste of the sea in bulk and head home to cook it yourself, though after eating the seafare here, I’ll be hardpressed to recreate the dishes with the precision and care that they did at Mr. Fish. Even the hushpuppies and fries were out of this WORLD. My last word on the matter: Mr. Fish = top five seafood spots I’ve ever been to, no question!

LA Hot Food – Menu with Prices – 1414 Moss St, Lafayette

Finally got to try this place out, perfect spot to go during lent season! Place is pretty small, and it gets pretty packed! Its a to-go place, so there is no seating, but they get you in and out quick! Food is cooked to order, so the you food is always fresh. The people here is friendly and helpful! We had the following: – Shrimp – huge butterflied shrimp, not too much breading! Delicious! – Fish – strips of crispy fried fish, cooked to perfection! This is probably the only time I would choose fish over shrimp! Must get the house made sauces! Tartar sauce well went really well with the seafood, but I also had the honey mustard, which was also good. I cannot wait to come back to try out their other items!

Harbor Meat & Seafood – Menu with Prices – 215 Helena Ave, Santa Barbara

We’re very fortunate to live in an awesome town that has several fish markets to choose from. Most of them are actually pretty good, but this one is definitely the best! The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, but most importantly of all their seafood is super fresh and amazingly delicious! It looks very industrial from the outside, and it is. They mainly supply restaurants in town, and for a while I wasn’t sure they were open to the general public. I kick myself for not checking it out sooner because they really do have great seafood. So don’t be afraid to go peak your head through the plastic curtain into the chilled fish room where you’ll find one of the friendly staff to help you. You will literally be walking in to a refrigerated room that they do prep in, so depending on the day you may find someone prepping a bunch of fish for a local restaurant, etc. Don’t expect to see a fancy display case of fish. In fact, there isn’t a display case at all. However, they are happy to bring anything out you want to see and are very knowledgeable about their product. I recommend asking them what’s fresh, although really it’s all fresh, but some of it may have previously been frozen. Sometimes they just got something extra spectacular in that day, so I always jump on that. I recently had a piece of halibut from there that was to die for. Best piece of halibut I’ve ever had. I enjoyed seeing how thoroughly everything was cleaned and that they kept it at a nice cool temperature to keep the fish fresh. I highly recommend checking it out if you like good, fresh fish at really reasonable prices. Also, if you buy a whole fish it’s less expensive and they’re usually willing to break it down for you free of charge (fillets, steaks, etc.) So, if you have a friend or two you can split a whole fish with, or just a hungry family, this is a really great way to buy. I haven’t checked out the meat market side, although having been to the fish side several times now I’m sure the quality is just as good on the meat side. Just not as big of a meat eater as I am fish.

Chang’s Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 110 Johnson St, Fayetteville

THIS IS THE BEST SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN TOWN!!! My mom came here, I go here and now my children go here. I do not go to any other place to buy seafood as I am very particular when it comes to this. I use to in times past but I gave up after one bad experience. The only reason I would rarely stop somewhere else is because Chang’s is a ways from where I live but I have found and know that it is more than worth the drive. Their fish is always fresh, hand picked through, they do not sale anything that is not up to their standards which are very high, the customer and their safety is always at the forefront and not the money. I can not express how much I have grown to appreciate their service to our community as a whole. They are very personable, very courteous, and have excellent customer service. Mrs. Thomas makes sure your fish is the way you want them and they are ALWAYS cleaned to perfection. I have never taken fish from there that were not cleaned right. Mr. Thomas is the best seafood fryer/boiler in town. He takes his time with each customer and is never in a rush. He makes sure that your fish is cooked properly if you choose to have him cook them and it is cooked as if it was something he was going to fix for himself or his family. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas take great pride in what they do. They know that many still depend on them and even though it gets hard at times, they always show up, they always give you their best , it is always known and shown how much they love what they do and those that support them You do not have to have your food prepared by them as they sale raw seafood that you can take home prepare or even freeze until you are ready for it which is what we usually do. Even when I freeze my fish because of the quality of it, it still tastes fresh and my family always enjoy it. Please help celebrate them, support a local family owned business that has stood the test of time, they have owned this business some thirty years and counting and I make sure I support them as well as my children and other members of our family. The Commander’s Shellfish Camp – Menu with Prices – 7579 A1A S, St. Augustine

Wow! This restaurant slash bar slash seafood market really delivers! My mom and I were visiting my grandparents in Florida when we decided to check out this joint for dinner one evening, and even they, Florida transplants going on 30 years, were amazed. They said it was the freshest, tastiest seafood meal they’d ever had! We started with beers and 1 lb. of steamed shrimp served chilled. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, easily to peel, and had the flavor and texture of fresh seafood. Just fantastic. We also shared a crab cake (the remoulade stole the show with that one) and salads (better than your standard side salad in my opinion), both solid choices. My grandparents had blackened fish and grilled shrimp, which they thoroughly enjoyed, and my mom and I shared fried fish and shrimp. The fry batter was so thin and crispy, perfectly complimenting the delicate, fresh fish. The restaurant was very crowded, so the service wasn’t superrrr quick, but everyone was friendly. I highly recommend sitting outside if it’s cool enough – watching the sunset while chowing down on fresh seafood serves serious Florida vibes! DEFINITELY recommend Commander’s Shellfish Camp to Floridians and tourists alike!

Seafood Shop – Menu with Prices – 9747 E 21st St N, Wichita

The Seafood Shop (Full review with photos on JakeRamstack.com) Where do you find fresh fish in a land-locked state? The best place to go is the Seafood Shop. They offer fresh fish delivered daily from the dock. There are even restaurants here in Wichita, that only buy their fish from the Seafood Shop. (insider secret) We always buy the smoked salmon and make an appetizer recipe with smoked salmon and whipped creme cheese with an apple slice on a cracker. It’s amazing, you also should try their dips – ready to go. They carry over 200 species of fish and shellfish, but if you want something special, they can order and have it to you within 48 hours. If you would like, they will cook your fish for you too. Want something ready to eat? They offer dinners to-go on Tuesday through Saturday, and lunch on Fridays. The fish tacos are superb. Meet Tish, Seafood Shop owner and awesome fish monger, pictured on right. She knows all about the fish. Stay tuned for an ‘Around Town’ video on the Seafood Shop! Fun fact: They also have cooking classes and recipes listed on their website. Check them out!

Murdock’s Quality Seafood – Menu with Prices – 4610 Prospect Ave, Kansas City

This is a straight up fish market that carries the basic fish and seafood options that African-Americans (black folks, urban dwellers….”smh”…..there is no politically correct way) like. No they don’t have your shark or tuna but they have buffalo and catfish and my childhood favorite whiting, plus theres frog legs, shrimp and crawdads thrown in for good measure. And if you need the seasoning to use for it they have an awesome selection available in sizes from little to big to fry up a whole mess of fish and have one giant fish fry with your friends. The staff was helpful and efficient and knew what they were doing as they was cutting my fish down to size. This is one of those places that when I want to feed a group that I would come too first.

Pescaderia En Mesa | Pesaderia de Guaymas – Menu with Prices – 811 W University Dr #102, Mesa

This is a relatively new fish market. It is of Mexican origin. I have been watching this location for the last 1.5 months since I saw the sign when driving by on University Drive, wondering when they will open. Well, they are open now. My wife, of Vietnamese origin, and I decided to see what was up. We went in on 01/14/2017. It is a small fish market. The staff was friendly. It was a man and woman. They had some various fresh seafood and fish (octopus, snails/caracol, shrimp, and others). A lot of it looked fresh. It even impressed my wife, who knows fresh fish and seafood, coming from Vietnam. She almost wanted to purchase some of their jumbo shrimp, but decided not to. We have too much seafood at home to eat through, and now space in our fridge. We will be coming back, and this time to buy some of the shrimp if they are good. It will save us the trip to Rocky Point in Mexico. We wish this business well. We definitely want them to thrive and be successful. One of the attendants gave me their card, and told me that if we desired some kind of seafood that was not displayed, to contact them. They may have it in storage, or they can order it for us. I will consider it. Perhaps, they will eventually have more choices. Otherwise, it will be difficult competing with the Asian markets on Dobson Road, and also on Broadway Road, with their huge seafood departments. I wish them well. That shopping strip they are in never has seemed to quite recover since the Fry’s Supermarket there closed. That location needs more successes.

Kathleen’s Catch – Menu with Prices – 9810 Medlock Bridge Rd #800, Duluth

This place definitely has fresh fish, that much is clear. I was very excited about this as I generally go to Buford Highway Famers Market where the fish is hit or miss and you really need to check. This isn’t a typical fish market where you need to really dig through or look at the fish eyes to see if the fish is fresh – you just know from the smell and presentation. That being said, if you wanted to look at the fish eyes you can’t because everything is pre-cut into 6oz steaks – with no skin for pretty much everything. That was the first issue for me as when I buy fish I like to see the whole fish, and get it in fillets with skin on (crispy skin is the best part after all). I asked the counter attendant if it would be possible to get skin on as fillets; she answered yes for some of the fish which seemed a little weird to me but not all fish has super edible skin so I let that go. That’s when I noticed the prices – VERY expensive. I’m talking twice what you would pay at a whole foods or more. I’ve never seen cod going for $13 for a 6oz steak or snapper $16 for the same. I was about to just bite the bullet and spend the extra cash and asked if I could get some sea bass with skin on; that’s when the attendant asked the back if that were possible and the guy shouted back to her “I’ve never seen that with skin before.” How do you work at a fish market and you never seen that fish with skin before? Do you not get the fish whole? How is the fish delivered? That just raised way too many questions for me so I left and got two large fillets of wild caught snapper from the nearby whole foods for $25 total.
