I called Mr.Paulo today at last minute for a taquiza, he and his staff did a wonderful job! Everyone at the event liked the taste of the Bistec tacos and the service they provided. Thank you! Reasonable price $?

Don Raul Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 4953 Xerxes Ave S, Minneapolis

My wife and I are big fans of Chef Hector Ruiz who is responsible for several outstanding Latin American themed restaurants all except one of which are within a five minute drive of our house in Southwest Minneapolis. These include Cafe Ena, La Fresca, Rincon 38 and now Don Raul. All are different but have many similarities. Essentially they provide a dining experience that you might have at a very trendy, upscale establishment in Latin America. No divey taqueria ambience here. Don Raul opened only a few days ago in a location which housed Sew What, a tailor shop, where I had previously gotten clothes altered. The restaurant is small and very stylishly decorated. We arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday evening with reservations and they were almost full. The menu consists of small plates of which we shared several. We were a little confused about how many dishes would be enough and our server wasn’t very helpful with this. We finally decided on three – Peruvian ceviche, tacos de pato (duck confit), and bistec (a taco dish with, you guessed it, beef steak). We liked everything but rated the tacos de pato first, the ceviche second, and the bistec third. The preparation was sophisticated with many unexpected ingredients and subtle flavors. We finished with desert – a flan and something called a mandarina which is hard to describe. The deserts were good but not up to the quality of the main courses. The three dishes plus desert certainly provided enough food for two people but if you have a large appetite you might opt for a fourth. We also each had a glass of a Spanish red wine called Tempranillo volver. I would have given five stars on the food but the service was somewhat clumsy and inept as the wait staff seemed inexperienced and not particularly engaged. Don Raul is fairly pricey (our total bill with tip was close to $ 120) and for that price the service should be better. I am sure that service will improve with time and it should not stop you from giving Don Raul a try. With Chef Ruiz’s restaurants and Colita and Martina, our neighborhood in Southwest Minneapolis has become a hotbed for upscale Latin American dining in the Twin Cities.

El Cortijo Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 855 W Elizabeth St, Brownsville

I highly recommend this place if you are not in a hurry to wait for your food. I believe they only have one cook and one waitress. The place is small, so there is no need for more staff. However, since this place is ran by the owners, one is usually in the kitchen and the other one is waiting tables and working at the register. This place is worth visiting because their food is nowhere else to be found in town. This was the first place in Brownsville to introduce ‘Tacos al Vapor’ (steamed tacos? maybe it does not sound too appetizing but believe me, they are great!). They also offer other food choices such as chile relleno (too hot for me, but it’s good). This place also offers tacos for parties (Taquiza, or tacos in large quantities). I personally have ordered tacos for two of my family parties, and the owner even lends you the cooking pot so you can reheat the tacos if needed. Their prices are affordable and the service is great!

Mr. Sugar Rush – Menu with Prices – 1408 N Riverfront Blvd suite 271, Dallas

I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Sugar Rush! Their staff was friendly and amazing and so easy to work with! They came out to our fundraising event when I called them last minute due to a different truck no-showing for our event day of. Mr. Sugar Rush absolutely saved the day! All of our guests at the Heard Museum were so excited to have sweet treats provided out of Mr. Sugar Rush?s adorable LED lit truck, and were saying many positive things about the quality of the ice cream and snow cones. The coconut snow cone I had was DELICIOUS. We will definitely be booking them again, and I hope you book them too!

R J Goody Entertainment Services. – Menu with Prices – 5591 Ridge Rd, Cleveland

I was trying to book a DJ for the New Years party at Days Inn and Suites last year and made a last minute call to RJ. He had the date open and was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with start to finish while setting it up – even though I called him not much more than 2 weeks before the event. I was not present for the event as I was visiting family for the holidays but heard nothing but good things from all the other staff at the hotel that were working for the event. A great combination of music and magic that definitely pleased the crowd. We are bringing him back this year and are expecting another great event.

Taqueria Chivis – Menu with Prices – 226 Broadway, Chula Vista

So, where do I begin. The food to eat there, is good. I recently hired them for a taquiza. The owner is VERY unprofessional with taking the order. My step mom and I went to get samples on their meats and loved it so we decided to proceed. My step mom was in contact with her via text so the owner “knew” the order. I never got an invoice with the detail of the service. I went to make 2 payments at different times. Each time I went, the people there did not seem to know what I was talking about. I asked for a copy of a receipt and since it wasn’t carbon paper, I couldn’t get one. So I took pictures of the “receipts” each time I went. I went a third time to talk to the owner myself and make sure everything was in order. This lady had no idea what I was talking about. She said she already had another event booked the same day as mine and couldn’t have two on the same day. She said she keeps two different agendas to book events. Why would you do that?? That causes double booking. She was VERY honest and said that she’s only forgotten one event but it was ONLY once. (Like that made me feel better). After all was “figured out”, she asked that I call her two days before the party because “She doesn’t start thinking about the events until two days prior”. I was in shock when she told me this. I asked if she could give me a receipt so I know what I am getting and wrote up a fast note on carbon paper so I get a copy. I was spelling the address of the party location in Spanish and she did not know the letter “C”… in her native language. I was extremely worried and more stressed after that day. Very unprofessional and no minimum education. How she runs her business is beyond me. I later asked if I could get my money because I wanted to cancel she said no. Of course they showed up the party and did their thing. Food was ok. Like I said, the food to eat there is ok. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO HIRE FOR A TAQUIZA EVENT.

Tacos “El Rorro” – Menu with Prices – 2120 E Price Rd Ste D, Brownsville

Service was OK didn’t expect much though, but finally some tacos that add piña to trompo! I haven’t been able to find some in Brownsville but left me satisfied! The limonada was so sweet which I love! Definitely going to be returning. I ordered 6 tacos of trompo with pina, beans, litro de limonada, and my boyfriend ordered 4 tacos de bistec with a drink for a total of $18

Laredo Taco Company – Menu with Prices – 1209 Fortress Blvd, Murfreesboro

Was I pleasantly surprised or what… This place was actually pretty good for the price. We got the tacos de bistec and they were nice and flavorful. The steak was seasoned well and the onions that came with it gave it a slight sweetness. Only complaint was that the corn tortillas were a little undercooked so they were a little soggy. It also came with Mexican rice and beans. The beans weren’t anything special but the rice was sooo good. The taste of cumin and tomatoes really work well together for it. If only the rice wasn’t a little mushy, it would’ve been perfection. Still, the flavoring is top notch.

Taqueria Diana’s – Menu with Prices – 833 E Shady Grove Rd c, Irving

We just had a party at this location. They have a lot of parking in the back. We were able to fit a mechanical bull, a bouncing house, and all of our cars in the back. They provided the food (tacos), condiments such as cilantro and onions, they provided beans and rice, and the best aguas frescas you’ll ever have. The tacos were very good, and theu prepare them right in front of you.the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the place fit about 40+ adults plus a lot of children very comfortably. We will definitely consider them in the future.

Taqueria Don Tomas – Menu with Prices – 918 E Berry St, Fort Worth

Living in DFW for upwards of 15 years now, you kind of understand with Tacos what is authentic and what is not. We have such a multitude of choices to go to in the area, I found that the Tacos at Don Thomas are some of the best and most authentic. We stopped by and we tried the al pastor, bistec and campechanos. They were outstanding and my only regret was not ordering more. It’s a little of a hike but so worth it if your nearby. Personally I wish I worked closer as this would be my lunch spot.

Taqueria La Bendicion De Dios – Menu with Prices – 3330 W New Haven Ave, Melbourne

Hands down best tacos in the county. Excellent food at an extremely reasonable price, tacos are $1.75. Everything is made to order, fresh ingredients and perfectly marinated meat. Try the salsa verde on the asada tacos to add some hot and sour goodness. If you like Mexican street tacos do yourself a favor and swing through when in Melbourne, but be careful or you will find yourself there everyday for lunch…like me.

Culinaria Restaurant & Events – Menu with Prices – 5732 Kennedy Rd, Mississauga

This is such a great place to hold any event. I live in the U.S. but my friend was having her wedding in the area and we stumbled upon Culinaria Restaurant to use as our venue for a pre-wedding dinner. I had sent them an email about the event and they were very responsive and accommodating. We had set up everything for the pre-wedding dinner. I only had pictures to go off by the time of the event and never had an opportunity to see the venue. When I arrived an hour early to set up for the event, I was thoroughly surprised. The place was so beautiful and very professional. It far exceeded by expectations. We set up for the event and they were super helpful. Also the food was amazing. We had a preset that we designed before the event and it was very reasonable. I live in NYC and the food was better than some of the michelin restaurants I’ve been to and pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for any venues and parties.

Kiepersol Vineyards, Winery, Distillery, The Grand Room & Salt Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 21558-A Merlot Ln, Tyler

Had a fabulous time at Vine Day. Was our first outing to Kiepersol Winery. Wine was wonderful the Winery was gorgeous, the staff was very friendly. Only downside to our outing was I called during the week to inquire about the tours of the Winery and Distillery. Was given information about times and cost along with tastings. Drove 2 hours and the tours were altered because of their event. What would have been the same price for both tours turned into 1/2 a tour with no tastings offered. That would have been something the staff should have needed to know when guest inquired before hand. We would have chosen another day to come for a visit. We really wanted to see the Distillery as well. Another couple in our group had called in advance also and was misinformed too. The lady brought that to our guides attention and our guide did offer us one tasting, thank you. I would highly recommend the Winery as a must see. Beautiful grounds.
