We heard that this place had good food so being Brea locals, we decided to give it a try. We showed up and had a little bit of a wait, which is totally expected. We sat down, and noticed that the person who wiped our table down didn’t do the best job. It smelled like eggs, you know what I mean? Like it had residue left over. Hard to explain. Anyway, we ordered – waited for our food – food came. Nothing TOO special to be honest. It’s breakfast, really. The OC scramble was bland – thank god for the salsa they gave on the side. But the issue I have and the reason why they get 2 stars is that the service wasn’t the best – rather, it was inattentive. It wasn’t happy. It wasn’t caring. They didn’t come by any table (we watched) to see how the patrons were doing. They didn’t come by for refills unless you asked them. They didn’t even come by for the bill until I had my arm up in the air holding my credit card and bill. They didn’t ask us if we wanted to-go boxes. We had to ask them for one. I saw servers yawning wide opened mouth and all while getting food off of the food expo. Just having better service would have put this review at 4 stars. But that’s how nonchalant they were with their customers. It’s so bad that I’d rather give my money to IHOP or Denny’s over this. So sad cuz I love to support local businesses.

Johnny Carino’s – Menu with Prices – 7605 San Dario Ave, Laredo

I see you guys take time to respond to the reviews here. Hopefully you can take that time to properly train your Waiters instead very inattentive on the visit February 2nd 2019 around 6 p.m. our waiter was handling maybe four tables and by the end of most people’s meals you could tell everybody was agitated and looking around for him. From the time I asked for boxes to go and from when I paid took about 30 minutes at least. He passed me three times while I had my credit card sticking out of the bill ready to check out. I was so agitated I took my credit card back and paid with cash so I could leave . this is unacceptable. The food itself wasn’t bad it was about as good as you could get Italian food in Laredo. I doubt I will be back but if I do come back I hope to see some improvement

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – 7494 Creedmoor Rd, Raleigh

I eat here once a week for lunch along with many employees in my office. The visit today will be my last. The short guy with thinning black hair is rude. The credit card machine malfunctioned and he mumbled “you broke my machine”. All I did was insert my card like the machine said. It could not read the chip, so it asked my to slide my card. When I slid my card it malfunctioned. He asked me to slide my card again, but slowly. Ok no problem. I slid my card slowly, but the machine asked me to insert my card. I inserted my card and the guy said something under his breath, but I didnt think much of it. Then the machine asked me to slide my card again and I did. It went through this time. As this guy handed me my receipt he said something to the effect of “why dont people understand how to use credit cards” under his breath. When I called him out on it he got quiet and started with his fake smiling.

Mimosas Gourmet San Jose – Menu with Prices – 2270 Monterey Rd, San Jose

Had to check out this new breakfast spot as it is right down the street from my house! The parking lot has great, nice signage and great location right on Monterey. The service was prompt and friendly, but I felt the music was a bit much for a Sunday morning breakfast. The food was great. My omelette was fresh, delicious and filling. Coffee was good as well! The size of the drinks I saw at everyone’s table was impressive! Why only 2 stars? When I got the bill I noticed that they had added a 4% credit card processing fee. This was added to the bill before knowing if I was paying cash or card … just 4% added onto the bill. As a small business owner myself , I would never pass on this bs fee to customers point blank. Why should customers feel the expense of the cost of doing business directly to us? Inflate the price of the food to cover the cost, but don’t just come out a charge your customers this fee to cover your basic operating costs. 4% is not a lot of $ spend, but the business practice of adding this fee onto the bill with out knowing how one is going to pay will be enough to keep my business elsewhere.

Big D’s BarbQue – Menu with Prices – 101 Common St, Shreveport

I am all for mom and pop stores and restautants. I was in shreveport for work and wanted to try this place for some good bbq. The location is a little sketchy, i decided to still go in and give it a try. When i walked in, i was greated by a really nice lady and older gentleman. However, i wasnt sure if i had walked into someones house or was it a restaurant. The place was a bit crowded and dirty. The gentlemen was also seated in a large armchair with a tv and a bunch of things around him smoking a cigarette. The cigarette smell of cigarettes hits you so bad when you walk in. The lady reminded me it was a restaurant when she pointed where the menu was. I ordered the bbq dinner that came with ribs, potato salad and beans. I asked if they take card and the gentleman told me yes. However, he could not get his card machine to take my amex or visa card. No it was not declining for not having insufficient funds, it kept giving error codes on his machine screen. The total for the meal was $14 which was decent, however i only had like $5 cash on me and was a bit out of the way to go get cash and come back. The gentleman did offer for me to take the food and come back the next day to pay him. I had to kindly decline because i was not sure if i did want to come back to this enviroment. When i left, i wasnt sure if i should have been relieved or bummed out. I really was looking forward to trying their food and the sweet potato pie i spotted on my way out smelled so heavenly, but then again i wasnt sure if my food would have tasted like cigarettes by how strong the cigarette smell was in the little restaurant. So i guess ill give this place 2 stars since the service was pleasant, but the fact that the machine was not reading my cards and the restaraunt needs a good deep cleaning and needs to be cigarette free.

West end bistro – Menu with Prices – 5513 Pershing Ave, St. Louis

While the food was decent and the server did her best, itâ??s obvious this restaurant doesnâ??t have it figured out and is destined to fail. There was a single table of 14 people when we arrived and the rest of the restaurant was vacant. Yet…they sat us at the table next to them. That group was incredibly loud. Our server apologized but it took us standing up and moving ourselves to another table to be able to hear each other. Our orders took so long to prepare that we thought they might be short handed in the kitchen. The server told us that wasnâ??t the case and the slow delivery was due to the large table. It seems odd that a restaurant that is otherwise empty couldnâ??t handle one table. What if three tables of 4 or 5 showed up? At the end of the meal, the server apologized profusely for the incredibly long wait but the manager didnâ??t come over and apologize or comp a meal which youâ??d expect in this circumstance. When the server brought the bill I handed her my credit card. As I went to sign the credit card receipt, I noticed we had been double charged for each of our entrees. Again, an honest mistake for which the server apologized but neither she nor her manager could figure out the credit card machine and had to refund me the difference in cash. It pains me to see what could be a great local addition to the neighborhood run so ineptly that it wonâ??t be here for long.

Bowlero Pasadena – Menu with Prices – 3545 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena

I bought a groupon online so myself and my boyfriend decided to go on a Saturday afternoon to get our bowling on. It’s a nice place, though I think the Arcadia one is much nicer (bigger arcade, nicer bar, 2x as many lanes). Anyways, we were assigned a lane and wanted to get some drinks and food but our server never came. So, we decided to just start bowling and order whenever our server came. We bowled for 45 minutes without ever even seeing a server come our way. When we were on our 3rd game, I decided to ask an employee near the front desk about ordering some food. He said he would tell our server. Another 15 minutes went by and no one to take our order. The server for the group across from us was closing out the bill for them and I asked her if we could order something. She said she’s not our server and would tell the server assigned to our lane to come. Since we were waiting so long, she said she’d take our order and tell our server to put it in. She asked for our credit card to put in their system. After OVER an hour, our “server,” Matthew, finally came. We didn’t want to order beers at that point so just decided to get Nachos (2/5 for taste). He gave us back our credit card. When we were finished with our bowling, he gave us the bill and asked for our card AGAIN. Didn’t we just give it to them? He said the original time was to just put it on “file.” I don’t get that.Anyways, long story short, we’re not coming back. Horrible service, mediocre bowling. bowlero is supposed to be a higher end bowling alley but I didn’t get that impression. I’d rather just go to AMF bowling.

Rheas Hot Links – Menu with Prices – 201-229 South Oakland Avenue, 204 S Fannin Ave, Tyler

Well today, I went to hot link place for my husband to take to his job. Normally the ladies are great always. But, we have noticed the last 3 visits havnt been that plesant from just (1) employee. But, we will still speak but her attitude us nonchalant. Anyway, today she came to window, didnt speak, and I ordered. Then came back gave me price and I gave her my card. Told her the chip doesn’t work as I handed to her. She looked at me, and still took it. About 5mins later, she comes back and says, my card dont work. Well, 1st of all, it works fine but the reason I told her in advance is for her to do it as credit or without chip usage. Anyway, i told her, I will give her cash. She handed her hand out for my cash, but still had my debit card. I told her to give my card 1st, then I gave her a $50 bill. She took a min and came back with $26 change. I looked at her funny and asked where my receipt she said since I didnt pay with card, I cant get a receipt. I asked how much was it again, she looked at me with a attitude and said, its right. $13 from $50 is $26 and I told her its incorrect and then she shut window on me and started talking to other worker. I bought 14 links, which she gave him the smallest links in there and a strawberry fanta, no ice. Maybe she gaving a bad day. But, lately she has acted this way. Idk way, i haven’t done anything to her and idk her either well. I drove around to front door, went in with food and money. Told the smaller dark lady, who is always sweet and she asked what i bought, told her and still that lady tried to say, 50-13=26, and thats what i gave you. Well, im not dumb, but I know how to count. So instead of arguing, i pulled out my phn to calculator, then she hurried up and said, or yea..I owe you $10. Laid it on counter and walked away. I told my hubby when i took him the food and he tut old me to report it. He said, he was proud of me, cause normally i goes off about my money. But, I have grown alot and tries to be better. She still had a attutude, vut you tried to CHEAT ME, but mad at me. I dont get that. How many people does, she do like this daily that she THINKS, DONT COUNT THEIR MONEY. My husband is bad about not counting his, but I DONT PLAY LIKE THAT. He eats at Rheas at least weekly, and before he had his seizures last yr. He ate 3 times a week faithfully on lunch break of after work. Smh at her.

Downtown Bar – Menu with Prices – 123 N E St, San Bernardino

If I could give negative stars I would. Worst bar I have ever been to in my life. It was so bad me and my girlfriend didn’t bother to stay and drink the pitcher of beer we ordered. We were harassed and threatened by the bartender with the fake boobs as well as some guy that appeared to work there. They told me my money was counterfeit which was bogus because l took it to a bank the next day and they said it was fine. They made me then give them my credit card after they refused to give me my “counterfeit” money back, they said they would call the cops and got all up in my face. Did I mention I 5″2′ an weigh just over a 100 lbs, really big strong bouncer with almost 70+ pounds on me you have to get in my face?! They then processed to lie to me again telling me their machine was broken and they couldn’t take my card, I say lie because after I left I called my bank and they had charged me for double the amount of my purchase on my card. By this time me and my girlfriend we so annoyed she just payed them with her cash and we left without finishing our drinks. I had to cancel my credit card and everything after the whole thing. It was miserable! They charged us almost 5x the actual price if you count the charged to my card! So to make a long story short…don’t ever go to this dump unless you like be scammed for money, threatened, and harassed!

Fresh Smoothies & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2450 Creston Ave, The Bronx

I would like to think it was because I came in 15 min to closing but that shouldnt change the attitude that you have towards the customer. I walked in and the ladies were talking they looked at me and continued talking. Very disrespectful didnt get greeted or anything, so I said excuse me and asked for what I wanted. Then I told her ill buy an orange juice aswell only for the simple fact that I wanted to see the machine working she stated that the machine is off and the juice was premade that defeated the purpose of wanting the juice so I didnt get it, but They have a lil process that’s done to meet customers satisfaction they serve you an ounce or 2 of w.e. smoothie you ordered to taste for perfection incase you want to add anything or change anything but as I get my sample the lady started to pour it in the cup, didnt wait for my opinion. It wasnt as cold as I would have wanted it to be but didnt wanna start anything I just said it was fine. The one moping gets mad because my boots were dirty she told me to stand by the door and the other lady tells me to come over to the cashier to pay and the one mopping gets mad. I just think for a first time experience on a Friday night it should have been a little better.. I’ll come again another time maybe I’ll change my rating but as of now very disappointed

Olivella’s Las Colinas – Menu with Prices – 5238 N O’Connor Blvd #134, Irving

Our first trip to this particular location and while the food was pretty close to what we’ve had at another location, the service had a lot in terms of improvement. Food was a respectable 4-5 stars. Service was about 2 stars. This particular visit happens to be on a Monday night and only one wait staff member and a manager on the floor. I get it, hard to find help these days so we’re ok and understanding. What made this visit extraordinary was the type of service we experienced from the manager and the sole staff member. Let me summarize…1) we asked for additional bread as part of our appetizers TWICE, got charged for it, but no bread delivered (when almost complete with meal and after we received our bill, the waitress asks “did your bread ever make it out”), 2) manager asked us to move our plates so he can place our food on the table (twice), 3) when we asked for another glass of wine, response from manager “yea but it will be a while”, 4) a small plate we had on the table was previously used by another patron, 5) while still only 80% finished with our meal, manager drops the bill at the table (literally as most of the table is still eating and I guess that means no dessert for you), 6) we asked for to go boxes and response from manager to waitress, “to go or pizza boxes?”; hmm let me guess since we only had pizzas for our meal, I don’t know maybe a happy meal box???, and so on. As some feedback to ownership, your manager should really omit their display of how frustrated they are to your customer…it is Hospitality and usually done with a smile, not out of frustration. Hope they improve their management and staff. Wouldn’t write this location off just yet as the food was good; however it will be a while for a repeat visit to let management transition out.

Lepoma’s Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 7590 Schomburg Rd, Columbus

The food was pretty good. The service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. For starters, we ordered appetizers. They didn’t come out until after the entrees were delivered to the table, and even then only after prompting. Next, I had ordered one of their signature pizzas, as a calzone, with no onions. I cut into it, to find it loaded with onions. Had to send it back, and wait for them to cook a new one. The new one gets there. My wife and I proceed to eat and converse (although, she’s already pretty much done eating, her order having been correct the first time). Eventually, my wife asks if I want some more Coke (I do, as my cup has been suggestively sitting near the edge of the table for quite some time now), because she wants some more Dr. Pepper. As we had not been attended to for a while, to the point that both of us had emptied our drinks, my wife proceeds to get up and refresh our drinks on her own. After continuing to be ignored by the waitress (she rang out 2 tables and bussed one without checking in on us), we had to stop her and request 2 small boxes for our leftovers, and the check. And we waited some more. Another waitress walked by and asked if we needed anything. Well, yes ma’am, we need the 2 boxes and the check that we asked the other waitress for a while ago. Next thing we know, here comes the original waitress, with one large box and the check. Again, we ask for 2 small boxes. At this point, we actually see on the ticket where it says regarding the appetizers, OUT FIRST. And regarding my calzone, NO ONIONS. So I’m thinking, did the waitress mess it up? It seems not, based on the ticket. Did the kitchen mess it up? What the hell is going on back there? How did they manage to not bring us our appetizers, and load my calzone up with onions, given the OUT FIRST and NO ONIONS comments on the ticket? At any rate, she comes back with the 2 small boxes and picks up my card to pay the check. A few minutes later, the other waitress brings back the receipt for me to sign. Except it’s not my ticket. She has run my card for someone else’s order. Someone else’s more expensive order at that. So I ask for the manager. The “manager”, who was the guy making the pizzas, comes over. I explain to him that they’ve run my card for a check that wasn’t mine. I tell him that isn’t the first problem, but it’s definitely the last. He asks what else was wrong. I told him the service had just been terrible from start to finish, however the food was good. He apologized, but made no offer to adjust my bill in any way. He gave me a refund ticket for the first bill for which I was erroneously charged, in case my bank disputes that the purchase was refunded; and then charged my card for my actual ticket. Moral of the story is, the food is good. If you order to-go at the counter, or call in an order, be sure to check that the order has been prepared as requested (i.e. no onions, if you’ve asked for no onions). Assuming it has, it’s likely to be quite good. But the dine-in service, leaves A LOT to be desired.

Captain Ray’s Buffet and Sushi – Menu with Prices – 5957 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk

Upon entering, I noticed that 99% of the black patrons in the place were all ushered to one section of the building – the first section on the right as you walk in the front door when the projector TV plays on the wall. I thought it was a coincidence until I was treated like a criminal over an error that the non English speaking Asian immigrant employees made on my bill. First, the Asian woman who brought my credit card and the credit card receipt to the table came back just 2 minutes later pointing at the signature line on the receipt without saying a word. I know where to sign a credit card receipt and dont need some fresh off the boat waitress telling me to sign. She obviously was rushing me to sign because she feared I was not going to sign and walk out. She was rude and unprofessional – and I know this treatment was based on a fear that the black people are likely to try to get out of paying. I signed and resumed my meal when another non English speaking woman comes to my table with another bill that was $4 more than the one I had just paid. She was abrupt and loud as if we were trying to avoid paying. Other patrons were looking at us so it was embarrassing. Why were we being treated like this? She kept shouting “4 dollar” in broken English over and over. Without a coherent explanation from anyone, I figured out that the bill I had just paid did not include the 2 drinks we had and they were bring a revised bill to show me what it should have been. Since this woman was not gracious and never apologized for the inconvenience, I insisted that she acknowledge THEIR error that created this problem. I made her say she was sorry before giving her 4 dollars cash and leaving. I post this story because I want African Americans to be aware of their treatment from Asian owned business like this. Most – NOT ALL – do not respect black patrons and see them as untrustworthy. This is why I was treated like this today and why the section where I was ushered to sit had 9 other tables with all blacks and only 1 table of blacks in all of other sections in the building – I counted. WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE! You know what I have talking about if you have been in a beauty supply or convenience store that Asians own – you have encountered this or know someone who has. Patronize only those businesses that respect you. This is not one of them.
