I highly recommend this place if you are not in a hurry to wait for your food. I believe they only have one cook and one waitress. The place is small, so there is no need for more staff. However, since this place is ran by the owners, one is usually in the kitchen and the other one is waiting tables and working at the register. This place is worth visiting because their food is nowhere else to be found in town. This was the first place in Brownsville to introduce ‘Tacos al Vapor’ (steamed tacos? maybe it does not sound too appetizing but believe me, they are great!). They also offer other food choices such as chile relleno (too hot for me, but it’s good). This place also offers tacos for parties (Taquiza, or tacos in large quantities). I personally have ordered tacos for two of my family parties, and the owner even lends you the cooking pot so you can reheat the tacos if needed. Their prices are affordable and the service is great!

Pollo Express – Menu with Prices – 2501 W Pawnee St, Wichita

We ate here for our first time Saturday and were back on Monday. The tacos were excellent. The transmission tacos were great and so were the carnitas taco and the pastor taco but we preferred the transmission. The chile relleno was very good and the nachos were huge. The tacos have a very generous amount of meat and the fried onions on the transmission just put it over the top. In addition to the great food the servers were prompt and friendly. Last but not least the prices were very reasonable.

Gorditas Estilo Aguascalientes – Menu with Prices – 999 N Waterman Ave, San Bernardino

Decided to try this place and ordered through DoorDash. I got a burrito and quesadilla with Chile relleno. I was disappointed when I took a bit of the burrito because it only had beans, rice, and cheese. I posted a picture of what the burrito should have included. They did have an option to add on more to the burrito and maybe they got confused? Anyway. The Chile relleno quesadilla was BOMB!!! It was only $3. Highly recommend trying that out. Decided to go back in person and give them another try and I am impressed. Took my boyfriend and he got the asana burrito. It comes with everything, BOMB. I again got the quesadilla Chile relleno with beans and rice. Seriously the best place in town. This location is located inside the San Bernardino indoor swap meet.

Micheladas Mexican Grill – Menu with Prices – 18236 Soledad Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita

This is for the new location in Northridge. It had just opened two days ago when we were there. An extensive menu. WOW! The service was delightful. Even though they were training a new waiter (Moi). The chile relleno was the best I have ever had. You could really see and taste the chile, not just the filling. (Most places provide a really soft, practically disappeared chile with filling.) I had a grilled chicken tostada. Couldn’t finish it all, it was that generous. The chicken flavoring was really good. My husband had the burrito El Maestro, which included a chile relleno, and beans and rice. He was happy. I tasted the rice – loved it. The beans…a little bland. The decor is so interesting. With large, colorful, ceramic coated masks, cute, funny musician figurines, and lots of other things to look at. Incidentally, when I entered, the music was on really loud. We like to actually hear each other when we go out to eat. I asked the waiter to please turn it down a bit. And before we even got our beverage, that was done. This will be my new favorite place for lunch.

Taqueria La Familia – Menu with Prices – 2642 W 32nd Ave, Denver

This is the best dine in Mexican establishment I have eaten at in North Denver, period. (Admittedly there are some taco trucks on Federal with better tacos but I consider these different genres.) If you dine in, they serve you chips with housemade salsa and warm red chile. I highly recommend the warm red chile! I ordered the combination platter with a chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and steak street taco. It was served with a side of rice and beans and your choice of tortillas. I ordered it with corn tortillas, which were amazingly fresh and excellent to scoop bites of chile relleno. The street taco was top notch and the enchilada had great flavor. My husband ordered chicken gorditas and these were great as well. We were able to dine al fresco on the small sidewalk patio and it was a wonderful experience! I already can’t wait to return. Extensive vegetarian options on the menu as well, for those looking. Also pro tip: finish your meal with a $1 churro from the Rosales Panaderia two doors down.

Tixteco Mexican Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2216 S 16th St, Omaha

I recently visited this spot and didnt have a single regret. The food is advertised as authentic, which definitely is. They also have a menu for those not brave enough to try a meat choice they aren’t familiar with, such as cow tongue or beef barbacoa. Price range is reasonable for what you get. The burritos are full of meat – i had mine with beans, onions and cilantro which gave it an awesome taste. I tried their chile relleno tacos, if you’re not familiar with what a chile relleno is, you have to give it a shot. We also tried their shrimp cocktail which was delish. Their salsas are neither runny nor too thick, it has the perfect texture and are also not too spicy. They offer an assortment of mexican bottle drinks and Aguas Frescas. I tried their Jamaica (hibiscus flower tea) which was amazing. They make it out of real hibiscus flowers and not the syrup you get sold in most places in South Omaha. Unfortunately, it has street parking and even though you can eat, the space is very limited and almost mimics a taco stand. Dont let that turn you away. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. Will definitely be going back and if i cant make it there, they also offer their services through Grubhub. 5/5

Taco Shop Mexican Grill – Menu with Prices – 1331 Kendall Dr #7, San Bernardino

I really wanted to like this place. I ordered a single chile relleno with asada fries. The food looked beautiful! I took a bite of the relleno and spit it out. FISH! the batter tasted like fish, I thought I was biting into an order of fish and chips. Now, I enjoy fish WHEN I order it. This was unexpected and gross, who wants to eat a fishy chile relleno!!?? This first bite was so disgusting I threw it out. I cannot eat at a place that doesn’t clean their oil regularly or at least keep one oil separate for fish that’s not used for the other food. My husband liked his asada plate with tortillas, rice, and beans. Not enough to make us want to go back and try our luck on our food being cooked on fishy oil.

Mariscos Mr Shrimp – Menu with Prices – 1749 W Main St Suite 7, Mesa

Tasty, and pretty authentic. My brother and I popped in for a “2 for 1” Chile Relleno special. Chile was a large paseo if Im not mistaken, loaded with perfectly aged cheese. Egg batter was light and correct, and the ranchero salsa was correct and tasty! Rice was excellent, and the frijoles, decent. My only misgiving is one of pricing. I never did see this item on the menu, nor the price. There was a requirement to purchase 2 beverages to get the “twofer”, which we did. When we received the bill, it showed “2 for 1” special, but with a lumped price of just under $16.00, then add $6 more for 2 drinks, so just under $22 ish, pre tax. Now, to my way of thinking (if that was truly 2 for 1) was excessive pricing. I would never (knowingly) pay $15 bucks for a single chile relleno plate…anywhere, so: the other possibility, the pricing model is in fact fair (around $8 ea), but the server failed to ring in the discount. We paid, we were tired…We will go back, but i would like to get an explanation on the pricing and a breakdown. as I was either “overcharged” or they were “overpriced” Recommended.

Tacos al Carbón – Menu with Prices – 500 Sebastopol Rd, Santa Rosa

Always on the search for a new and authentic tacos, we decided to try this restaurant for a late afternoon lunch. Located on Sebastopol Road, where you have so many good choices for yummy food, we were delighted to see it is right next door to Frozen Art Ice Cream! Yippee! It was about 3:30 or so when we walked in and there was only one other table filled in a pretty large restaurant, but right behind us walked in two more sets of customers. The dining room is bright and clean. We were instantly greeted and ordered within about 5 minutes. First, the menu is incredibly large with so many different choices. It was very hard to decide what to order! They have a great selection of your standard items you would expect, and also a large fish and vegetarian (healthy option) choices. Hubby went for his typical combo plate when trying a new place – a chili relleno and mole enchilada. I chose a fish taco and shredded chicken taco, because after all, I was there for Tacos! The food came in about 10 minutes. The combo plate was large and looked delicious. I tasted the Chili Relleno and it was unlike what I was used to. It was sort of sweet, maybe with a hint of honey. The chili was fresh as well. The mole sauce was good too, not overly rich and sickening sweet like I have tasted elsewhere. The fish for the taco was grilled (not fried) which was a delight for me as I don’t eat fried food! The shredded chicken taco had a bed of rice, lots of chicken, but the sauce was a little heavy for my taste buds. Both tacos were delicious and filling at $3.25 each. However, my biggest complaint were the tortillas. I don’t expect to eat tacos with a knife and fork, but this is what I had to do. The tortillas are too thin and fell apart the instant I picked up the taco. Not good, so maybe they can work on that for the future. We also ordered guacamole which was good, a little lemony for me, but still fresh and tasty. The two salsas that comes with the chips were both delicious too. So for $28, tax and tip included, we had a very filling meal and want to go back and try other items on the menu. I think this restaurant has plenty to offer everyone! Give it a try!

Panchitos Restaurant Menu with Prices 2104 O St, Bakersfield

Previous Yelp reviews I read about Panchitos were amazing! I invited two girlfriends to come with me to check it out for lunch. So sad the previous restaurant in this spot, Narducci Burgers and Shaved Ice, closed. I’m happy that someone else is trying to share their food in this really cool spot. They’ve done a little renovating…front two booths that had privacy curtains in front of them have been removed. Seems a little more roomy now. We were greeted and seated immediately after we arrived. Our drink orders were taken. They make fresh iced tea and got paper straws when we asked for them. We were brought chips with mole and cheese on them. No napkins or silverware to dig in, so I asked for some. The menu has many really interesting dishes. I had a hard time deciding, but went with the shrimp Chile relleno, rice, beans and flour tortillas. One friend had ordered the chilaquiles with green sauce, but changed her mind after I ordered. She ended up ordering the Chile relleno, too. Second friend ordered the beef crispy tacos. Another group of three arrived and ordered after we did and got their food before us…huh. The refried beans, in their own bowls, arrived first. Next, the rellenos came out. We waited a couple minutes before the tacos arrived. We all dug in. Rellenos were delicious! Chile was cut open and filled with cheese and four large shrimp. Beans had a nice flavor. Rice wasn’t too exciting. Our server checked on us frequently. We had to ask for refills on our drinks, but they were never empty because she came by so often. I would definitely like to visit again. Many items on the menu sounded good. Service was great!

Red Agave Tequileria Cocina Calaca Bar – Menu with Prices – 2845 28th St, Boulder

We wanted to try something new and out of our normal area. Decided to trek up to boulder and my husband brought me here. It was a Friday night, typical level of busy for a weekend. It looked as though they were down a server or two and the servers working seemed stressed. They were beyond nice, but sadly service was extremely slow. I will say I think they did the best they could with being short people. On top of that they also had two large parties come in at the same time that were both very needy. My review is based really off the food. I wanted to love their food I really did. We started off with the queso fundido which they make at the table. The worst $15 I have ever spent. It was extremely greasy, they give you soft flour tortillas to eat it with and it was just a huge mess. Way over priced and I do not recommend it at all. They also don’t offer free chips and salsa so if you order chips to eat with the queso you’ll be charged. I ha e the Chile relleno plate and it didn’t do it for me. It had frozen peas in it and on top as a garnishment. Peas should t go on a relleno ever. The dish lacked any flavor and the tomato sauce they smother it in had a very generic tomato paste taste to it and didn’t add anything to the dish. My husband had fajitas. They were good I will give them that, however extremely expensive $25. I just don’t think the food and the service is worth spending that kind of money. They win for their margaritas. Now those were amazing and deserve to be recognized. I can’t say I won’t be back, I think this place deserves one more chance.

La Colonial Tortilla factory – Menu with Prices – 212 N Copia St, El Paso

Outstanding burritos and tortillas! My mouth is watering from thinking about their freshly made burritos and tortillas. These burritos and tortillas are probably some of the best in town. Their tortillas are light and fluffy, straight up perfection! My favorite burrito is the picadillo. The ground beef has a great flavor. It tastes even better when you add some red or green chile in it. Watch out, their burritos are on the small side so you might be able to eat two or three at a time. I’d like to try their chile relleno burrito but I haven’t yet. I’m also interested in trying their tostada chips and chile con queso. I hear La Colonial sells out of their burritos fast so you have to go by 9 or 10 am. You can also call in your order. There’s nowhere to sit so you’ll have to eat in your car or destination. Take some cash too. Aside from burritos, they have tamales, tostadas, tacos and the prepared masa to make tamales at home. They close by 2 pm on weekdays and they aren’t open on weekends. Imagine if they closed later and opened on weekends?

NEVERIA ARCOIRIS – Menu with Prices – 1317 N 10th St, Lincoln

As a transplant from Arizona, I’m really picky about the places I eat Mexican food. This nevería never disappoints whether you go for a quick lunch, dinner, or snack. I personally like to refer to it as the “rainbow ice cream store” to my non-Spanish speaking friends since that is the English translation of the name! There are two locations- this one on 10th St is a full restaurant serving a large selection of food, ice cream and fruit cups. Food options range from my favorite tortas (sandwiches with your choice of meat, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, jalapeños, onions on a toasted bolillo roll) to your standard casual Mexican fare like tacos and enchiladas. They do offer seafood options like cocteles (shrimp cocktails) and siete mares (fish stew) as well. Drinks are large 32 ounce cups so you never feel like you didn’t get enough! If you are looking for a snack or sweet treat, they have something for you! One of my favorites is the delicious street corn from a tiny cup to a giant, corn extravaganza! This corn in a cup or, if you prefer, on the cob, is streamed corn mixed with mayo, lime, chile, and parmesan cheese. Also available are fruit cups full of mango spears, pineapple, watermelon, cucumber, jicama or a combination! Servers will add lime and tajin if that is your preference. They have a fair selection of unique ice cream flavors and offers options like mangonadas, mangos with chamoy, chile and lime, to milkshakes and sundaes. The other location does not offer to full range of menu items but does offer corn, fruit, and ice cream. Overall, I highly recommend and look forward to my next visit.
