What can I say? I find it hard to NOT stop at a Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives featured location when traveling. I was able to get to this place and since I just saw the re-run a few weeks ago, it was fresh in my memory. This one is located within the Stanley Marketplace, which adds to the experience. I listed the review for the Stanley Marketplace in another review. This location is on the outer edges of the market so there is a small outdoor dining patio, which was full when I got there since the Colorado fall weather was really comfortable that day. The dining room at this location is not very big, but considering the building it’s in, I’m sure that has some reason as to the size of the place. I sat at the bar and was able to take my time looking over the menu. There was the biscuit sandwiches and biscuit plates to chose from. The waiter recommended two the most popular sandwiches was the Franklin or the Ellsworth. The waiter did tell me that the Franklin was a very filling lunch and the Ellsworth was a little lighter. Since I still had big day ahead and did not want to get weighed down from my lunch, I chose the Ellsworth with a side of homemade pickles. It came out pretty quick and the chicken patty was very crunchy on the outside and really tender and juicy on the inside. The biscuit was huge and flaky with a butter flavor. The mustard that was smeared on the chicken had some good kick to it and the entire sandwich was drizzled with local Colorado honey. Yum! Not sure when I will back in the area, but this place is definitely on my must visit list.

The Infinite Monkey Theorem Menu with Prices 2501 Dallas St, Aurora

This Infinite Monkey Theorem, located within the Stanley Marketplace, is a bit different from the RiNo location, though the wine is the same (which is a VERY good thing). This location boasts a very quiet, relaxing environment to sip your wine of choice in. It is almost reminiscent of a library, lounge, or coffee shop. If you are wanting somewhere to bring your favorite novel and have a glass of my personal favorite, the sparkling white, this is the place. If you are looking for a place to sip rose while you loudly giggle and catch up with your girlfriends, this may not be for you. The RiNo location has always been one of my favorite places to go because it has always struck me as a beer brewery that served wine. To elaborate, my husband always loved going to breweries and their loud, fun atmosphere but it was difficult for me because I didn’t enjoy drinking beer. When we discovered the RiNo Infinite Monkey Theorem it was this revelation that we could combine the best of both worlds. This is not what the Stanley Marketplace’s atmosphere promotes, favoring a quiet, dark escape instead. It is good that the two locations are different because they are not that far apart from each other, and it’s important to offer variety. Just don’t go to this one expecting the experience you get at RiNo. That being said, for me personally the Stanley Marketplace Infinite Monkey Theorem is less my cup of tea…wine. Their prices are always a bit high ($7 a draft), but were easily justified by the super fun atmosphere and amazing flavors. While this version of IMT definitely offers the same, extremely delicious wine, the atmosphere is less appealing. Don’t get me wrong, I will ABSOLUTELY be back here, because I love their wine so much. It just might be a stop and grab one instead of a spend-a-whole-date-night here.

Colorado Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 2501 Colorado Ave, Santa Monica

Happy to report that my hunch was correct. While the Colorado Kitchen won’t let you replace the Beyond Burger’s ciabatta bun with a potato roll, you can order a cheeseburger and replace the patty with a Beyond patty. Pretty much the same thing. The potato roll is a huge improvement from the default ciabatta. I can now actually taste the Beyond patty, super juicy and perfectly balanced – as all things should be. There are a few things I can nitpick, but it is genuinely great. I do want to point out that the fries are somehow not great. Both the regular and sweet potato fries are really bland and could use some salt. It’s probably a good thing because I’ll end up getting a side salad instead, but I’m amazed to find subpar french fries at this price point. Overall, still a decent effort. There are better choices in mid-city Santa Monica like Lime, but I’m happy to have a quick lunch at Colorado Kitchen when necessary.

Stripes Biscuits & Burritos Menu with Prices 8050 Academy Rd NE Suite 101, Albuquerque

First time here. Very busy! Not a traditional restaurant in the sense that you go straight to the counter and order your food and then find a place to sit. Service was fast, but it seems they bring your food without bringing utensils and napkins. We had to ask for them and throughout our dining experience I noticed most everyone had to ask the server or go to the counter to ask for utensils and napkins. Not the greatest way to do that…maybe it was just due to them being so busy? My husband and I both got the Coach B which seems to be the signature or most popular dish. It did NOT disappoint! The biscuit was fluffy and soft. Very yummy. The chicken was super crunchy on the outside and juicy inside. I was worried the chicken would be soggy after being sandwiched between eggs, gravy, and a biscuit. So it was a pleasant surprise. Now let’s talk about those papitas…I don’t think they are given enough recognition! They are tiny cubes of crunchy thanksgiving. I swear I was having crunchy thanksgiving stuffing. It was so good. Even my kids really liked them and they don’t really do potatoes. They serve New Mexico Piñon Coffee which happens to be our favorite coffee. Plus it’s supporting a local company! Prices were reasonable. I do wish the sitting situation was better. It was so busy it was hard to find sitting and since it’s seat yourself you have to just figure it out. Will be back and try other items!

Joy Love Burgers – Menu with Prices – 6630 FM 1463 Suite A100, Katy

Went there for lunch today with a friend. It was our first time ever in any Joy Love Burgers’ store. Heard so much about the Mason Rd one and then Yelp sent me notification yesterday about the FM 1463 location as Hot place for you ? Well the store is kinda small for the lunch traffic which I believe is being generated from all the good reviews. By the time we finished ordering and getting our drinks a booth opened luckily. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with Jalapenos and Fries and my friend ordered a Cheeseburger with Fries. It took 10 – 15 minutes for the order. Service at the counter was good, they were helpful and courteous. My Bacon Cheese Burger tasted very good juicy because of the vegetables not the burger patty, Bacon was crisp and crunchy. My friend did not have much issues with their burger. All they said that this cheeseburger was one level above the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder ? meaning they liked it. The only thing I had an issue with was that why are these new burger stores smashing the patty flat squeezing all the juices out. I think the Bacon Cheeseburger I got could be more juicy if it was prepared without smashing the the burger patty flat during the cook. Also it is pricey for the type of burger.

Church’s Chicken – Menu with Prices – 4780 E 13th St N, Wichita

Quick take: One of the best national chain fried chicken restaurants. No reason to eat the trash the colonel is slinging. Unlike Donna G. I’ll be reviewing the food, not whether or not this particular place takes coupons. I mean give me a break! Anyway, it’s probably been 25 years since I last had Church’s. Popeye’s has done a commendable job in taking its place because we all know KFC is wack. KFC’s chicken is greasy, their sides are bland and fake, and their biscuits are the worst. Popeye’s has delicious sides and sauces and we all know their biscuits are the bomb. However, Church’s has always held a special place in my heart. Besides my grandma’s homemade chicken, it was the fried chicken I grew up eating. I was excited to see a location was opening up in Wichita. Stopped by for lunch and grabbed a 3-piece mixed, spicy (of course) with a side of okra and a biscuit. That chicken was every bit as good as I remember it. Big pieces fried up nice and crispy and very little grease. The meat was juicy and had just the right kick of spice. Okra was very good. Crunchy breading and not soggy at all. Last but not least was the biscuit. So good! I honestly thought Popeye’s had the best biscuits on the market but these are hands down my favorite. They’re drop style so they’ve got that craggy exterior to catch the honey butter glaze they put on them. A side and dessert all in one, no extra butter needed! If you’re looking for some high quality, tasty chicken, Church’s has you covered.

Krispy Krunchy Chicken/Super Express Menu with Prices 1237 Gordon Hwy, Augusta

Ambience. B. Service. A Food. A- Price. A This special chicken is part of this Super Express convenience store on fort Gordon highway. Located 1237 Gordon Hwy across from Capri Lounge/ Executive Inn. Clean convenience store open fall 2017. The Krispy Krunchy Chicken franchise is an interesting concept offering good crispy fried lightly spicy chicken in this location. Very clean. Bright lights. Friendly service. The guy behind counter offered me a breast chicken tender which was very moist and crunchy. This was not spicy. However, I ordered 2 thighs and thought the crunch was great and meat was moist. The biscuit was nice a crunchy I the outside and moist inside. I liked to add extra honey if they had any. Too bad they didn’t have available all side. Only one jambalaya, fries and several mashed potatoes. I was wanting to try the dirty rice and the fried rice balls which they didn’t have….sigh. Wonder if there’s just not enough foot traffic and business to build up this franchise. I would go back for lunch in afternoon in future or go around 4:30- 5:30 when hopefully they just fried for the evening. Nice crunchy and hot! I’m a fan right now for the chicken and biscuit! Mmm!

Joe’s Deli and Grill – Menu with Prices – 1710 N Hercules Ave # 114, Clearwater

This tiny, hidden jewel is the ideal spot for lunch. My fiance and I stopped in and were worried it might be closed due to the last review in 2017, but this is a happening place! Tiny strip mall so not a whole lot of parking but of you can’t find a spot don’t fear, they deliver! The shop itself is perfectly cozy. You are immediately greeted by warm friendly staff and you feel like a real person. They are happy to ask any questions. This is a breakfast and lunch place only and breakfast ends at 11am. I got the blackened chicken with bacon Kaiser and my fiance got the Cuban, he chose cajun fries I stuck with original. The cajun fries were definitely spicy but very good. Both fries were perfectly crunchy and fresh. The sandwiches were delightful! Bacon was cooked perfect, chicken was juicy, the bread was fresh and flavorful. Great prices and fantastic food! I highly recommend making this local spot a breakfast or lunch stop during your vacation.

Chick-fil-A Menu with Prices 737 Albany Shaker Rd, Albany

This location of Chick-fil-A pisses me off. I try not to get emotional when writing reviews, but, my deep love for the chain has gotten the better of me. To be fair, my experience was fine, but they’re obviously doing something wrong evidencedâ?? by the high number of one and two-starâ?? reviews. If you are not familiarâ?? with Chick-fil-A, do not use this location as a yardstick for the chain overall. Those of us who adoreâ?? the chain know that above all, friendly, accommodatingâ?? serviceâ?? and deliciousâ?? pickle juice brined chicken sandwiches are paramount to the Chick-fil-A experience. Nevertheless, allow me to present an ordering guide to Chick-fil-A for any newbies out there. Pro tip 1) Do not under any circumstances get any of the biscuit sandwiches that are sold during breakfast hours. Chick-fil-A’s biscuits are terrible. If you’re in the airport in the morning, turn yourâ?? nose up in the air, and stroll right on by. Pro tip 2) Skip the overrated waffle fries. People love to rave about the waffles fries. I say “Poppycock.” They’re fine, but really, they’re not anything special. Why waste precious calories on something that’s just ok? Save those calories for the chicken. Pro tip 3) Get the original chicken sandwich and nothing else. Yes, the original chicken sandwich is why these guys are so beloved (aside from their fantastic service). It’s a thing of beauty — pure genius in its simplicity. Don’t bother with any of the deluxe sandwiches either,â?? get the original chicken sandwich that is a piece of chicken with pickles on a bun. Pro tip 4) Get a bottle of water and skip the sweet tea or other sugary high-calorie drinks. Again, you’ll want to save every preciousâ?? calorie for the chicken. Pro tip 5) Do put mayo on your original chicken sandwich. The sandwich needs a little moisture, and mayo complementsâ?? the other componentsâ?? perfectly. Now that you know what to do, step up to the counter and get two original chicken sandwiches. Better yet, get three. The sandwiches are small. Any normal person can easily eat two. But if you’re like me and revel in every delicious bite of that juicy, tender pickle juice brined chicken, get three sandwiches, and as mentioned don’t forget to slather mayo on them before you devour them.

Jalapeno’s Bar and Grill Menu with Prices 1555 Broadway Ave, Boise

I’ve been to the location on Franklin and have had good experiences there. I was excited to see that they had opened a new location and I was down on Broadway, so I thought “why not?”. We were pretty promptly seated, it was around 2:00 pm on a Friday, not very many other customers. Pros: I actually liked the interior. I saw another review that criticized it saying it hadn’t changed much, but I thought it looked nice inside. Def not very Mexican vibe, but who am I to say what is and isn’t Mexican. I’m white. The waitress was initially very nice. Cons: We waited 10 minutes without any chips and salsa. Our waitress brought out our drinks and even commented on it, saying “Oh I’ll go grab that for you.” Never returned with them. 5 more minutes go by and another waitress/busser notices we don’t have any and immediately goes and grabs us some. Our drinks were empty from about halfway through our meal until we left. Never once offered a refill. The food was overly salty and my chicken tasted way overcooked. The meat was tough instead of tender and juicy. The waitress was more interested in the table of good looking guys (I semi don’t blame her), but she checked on us only once and it was super in passing. (Sorry Samantha, I know the guys were cute, but I would have tipped 20% had you paid attention to us.) Lastly, the flan was gross. I’m not a fan of chocolate covered flan, I much prefer just the caramel type but that’s not the issue. The issue is it was gritty, chunky, and maybe still kinda frozen? It wasn’t creamy at all. I struggled to get through it. I left a little note on the back of the receipt before I left. Honestly, I wanted to ask for a refund but it seemed like too much of a hassle. Avoid this place, go to the one on Franklin. Or if that’s too far out of your way, Casa Mexico up on Federal Way is good too.

Hmongtown Marketplace – Menu with Prices – 217 Como Ave, St Paul

Hmongtown Marketplace is a fantastic indoor (and partially outdoor, in the summer) Hmong marketplace, replete with fresh groceries, barbecue food stalls, clothing, and other knick-knacks. To be honest, I prefer the nearby Hmong Village – it’s larger and has more food options and a livelier ambiance. But the Hmongtown Marketplace is still worth a visit. Come for lunch or dinner and enjoy tasty barbecued chicken, Hmong sausages, steamed fish, and bubble tea. Keep in mind that most stalls only take cash, though they have an ATM on site if you forgot yours. The clientele is mostly of Hmong descent, but the shop owners are always friendly and welcoming to everyone, regardless of your ethnicity. Come pay a visit next time you want delicious food and a new experience!

Biscuit Head Menu with Prices 1994 Hendersonville Rd, Asheville

No wait on a weekday around lunchtime?! Loved that from the get go, though I’d guess it’s probably because this location is newer and further away from Asheville than the other two locations. I had a good feeling when I looked at the menu and had a hard time deciding what I wanted because everything looked so good. We basically stuffed ourselves with as much as we possibly could, and boy what a worthy cheat meal it was! I ordered the chai latte with almond milk (no upcharge which was nice! But they only had whole milk or almond milk as options) and the brisket biscuit, while the bf ordered the mimosa fried chicken biscuit, and we got a cup of the gravy of the day (scallion bacon gravy) to drizzle on top of our “biscuit Benedicts”. The dish is basically one huge biscuit (like the size of a teacup plate) with your meat sandwiches in between and a poached egg and sauce drizzled on top. The fried chicken wasn’t life changing, but the brisket was the bomb, super well marinated and flavorful. Another aspect of the restaurant is that there’s an amazing homemade jam/jelly bar! The blueberry and raspberry jams were our favorites. If you’re anything like us and want to try a little bit of everything (savory and sweet), I would recommend splitting a biscuit Benedict, and ordering a plain biscuit with a side of the gravy (which I LOVED and I’m not normally a huge gravy person) so that you could also try out all the jams too! Downside is that the parking lot is small so you might have to find street parking if it’s busy. Overall, definitely a spot I recommend… the food coma was real but oh so worth it.

Carla’s Cafe Menu with Prices 9809 S Union Ave, Bakersfield

Another great breakfast! When we arrived on Saturday just after 8am, there was exactly one empty table. We grabbed it & waited for it to be cleaned. Our server was very nice, although very busy. I ordered a biscuit & gravy, two eggs scrambled with cheese, and avocado. It was perfect! The gravy was sausage-y, although it didn’t have a lot of chunky meat in it. The biscuit was soft and fell apart in the gravy. They were generous with the cheese and avo. I did note that after about 5 minutes, the dish had turned cold, so I finished it that way. It was still good. My wife had a pancake with a side of potatoes and fruit. The potatoes were nice & crunchy, but she would have liked more flavor, maybe the addition of onions or peppers. The fruit was bananas, pears, and apples, and they were all fresh and perfectly ripe. She loved that! My son had the Full Hot Mess, a plate of biscuits and gravy with hash browns and a sausage patty. He ordered the patty spicy, and really liked that. He would have preferred the hash browns on the side, but overall he said it was an 8 out of 10 breakfast. They have exactly one bathroom stall for everyone. My wife stepped in to use it, and the previous occupant had peed all over everything. It was gross, although not Carla’s fault. We told Carla, and she was instantly in there cleaning it. This is indicative of Carla’s commitment to quality. We’ll be back!
