Ok place for BBQ. Food was super flavorful. Definitely worth going back to. The place has an awesome atmosphere. Feels like a cafe in Phoenix that I enjoyed visiting.

Virginias Cakes – Menu with Prices – 1865 Brickell Ave # A401, Miami

the service here is outstanding. this place has a nice feel to it. feels similar to a restaurant in philadelphia that i enjoyed visiting.

Honeys (Southern Fried Catfish) – Menu with Prices – 2010 E Broadway Rd, Phoenix

New spot in the South Mountain/Phoenix area. Great prices and great food! Definitely brings the southern soul food feel to Phoenix. This spot caught my eye on Yelp and I had to give it a try. I got the two piece catfish (which actually came with 3 pieces). You get the catfish with fries and 4 hush puppies. It also came with hot sauce and homemade tarter sauce. The hush puppies were incredible. By far these are the best hush puppies I’ve had from anywhere in Phoenix. Nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. Very flavorful. I have no ideas what spices/ingredients went on the inside of the hush puppies but they’re spot on with their recipe! The fish had an awesome coating and they were golden brown. By the time I got home to eat my good the fish was still piping hot! They seasoning used in the coating was great and had a nice southern taste to it. Fries were great and crunchy. They didn’t taste like they were cooked in the same grease as everything else. I only had the flavor of fries with a nice seasoning salt taste. You honestly can’t go wrong with this place. I will be back for seconds, soon!

La Piazza Cucina Italiana – Menu with Prices – 220 S 6th St, Springfield

If you’re looking for delicious and genuine Italian cuisine that won’t break the bank, this is place to go in Springfield. I found this place because it is within walking distance of the Abraham Lincoln Doubletree hotel. It has a very warm family atmosphere. I was here with five other people, four of them visiting from outside of the country and who were looking for good Italian food. For appetizers, we had the shrimp scampi which was very flavorful. We also had freshly baked bread that was soft and went well with the olive oil. The main courses varied; some had the lasagna while others had the traditional carbonara pasta and the mushroom ravioli. I had the monthly special, salmon carbonara pasta. Everything tasted awesome and you could tell that it was made with love. My friends were very impressed with the wine selection and enjoyed a red wine from Italy to go with their meal. As an extra treat, the chef herself (she’s from Sicily) came out to greet us and treated us with freshly made cannoli. The owner and the server were super cool as well and really took pride in making sure that we had an excellent experience. I’m not sure when I’ll be back in Springfield again, but when I do, I’m definitely coming back here and trying the pizza.

Legends Coffee and Cafe – Menu with Prices – 25707 Westheimer Pkwy, Katy

Such a cool environment! This is Katy’s hottest new cafe. You have to check it out for yourself! They sell coffee, cafe food, pastries & even ice cream. Then they also have live music on certain days. They also have a super nice patio with the big swing chairs. I ordered a Caesar salad and man it was so good and tasted fresh! They also have the keto bulletproof coffee if you’re into that! You have to come and try out this place. Oh and for all the families out there they have a super awesome kid section for them to sit play and read in. Oh and a changing table! They do kid book readings on Thursday’s at 11am. Overall awesome place, great service. 10/10 recommend

Urban Orchard Cider Co. – South Slope Menu with Prices 24 Buxton Ave, Asheville

Wow, this is SUCH an awesome space! I can’t believe it’s been open all this time and I finally went here for the first time this weekend. I had no idea what I was missing out on. Urban Orchard (South Slope) is a really gorgeous space, it feels classy and has awesome decor. I especially love the lovely and comfortable chairs for lounging and the purple blinking lights hanging above the stage area. I went in to try the cider and doughnut flight pairing. It came with 4 ciders and 4 mini doughnuts from Underground Cafe and Doughp Doughnuts. This was such a fun (and picture-perfect) experience. The ciders were awesome and I especially enjoyed the mango habanero cider which I did not expect to enjoy that much. It was really tasty and not too spicy! I really enjoyed seeing on their bulletin board that they host fun events such as Zumba and salsa dancing. It makes perfect sense as the space is large and inviting. I’d love to come do a Zumba class sometime. They also have weekly specials. I noticed that they do 1/2 off bottles of wine one day a week. Although I do enjoy cider, I’ll admit that I like wine more, so I’ll have to give that a try sometime. As I mentioned before, this space is so gorgeous. I will absolutely be back again soon and bring some more friends. This is an awesome addition to the South slope!

Gnome Café – Menu with Prices – 109 President St, Charleston

Super impressed with the Gnome Cafe when I was down in Charleston for a wedding weekend. The staff are super friendly and the food is really tasty. Had a rough start since I am a parking novice when it comes to Charleston, but I eventually found some street parking – it was very worth it. Feels like everything about the restaurant is very thoughtful: from the branding, to atmosphere, and especially the food. You order at the counter and there are about 3-4 small 4-top tables inside. I noticed a lot of people “grabbing and going”… it was a Friday after all… people need good vegan food to start their day! I also noticed there were a lot of regulars that the staff knew on a first name basis. My coffee mug gave me a “beard” that morning so I fit the part that morning. The hemp biscuit with pepper jelly was my jam (yes – pun intended). My friends breakfasts were also gorgeous and just as delicious. I’m not going to write about how you are supposed to “substitute” for animal products, I think this place just does everything so well, you wouldn’t even “miss” them. Overall, I definitely would come back and try the other items on their menu… or just even go to hang out. The space was super cool and relaxed. Also I was hesitant to add my new obsession with their cinnamon rolls. There were only 3 in the case when we got there and the case was empty within 30min of us being there. Hot commodity, but I highly recommend it!

Carniceria Castillo – Menu with Prices – 4426 S Central Ave, Phoenix

Take a trip south, south of downtown, south of the 17 to find your way to Carniceria Castillo for some of the best Carne Asada in Phoenix. Drive to south mountain take in a hike or the views and do yourself a favor and stop in for their cooked carne on your way back. You’ll find this market along the road, it’s easy to pass right by, but they’re likely cooking something out front on their BBQ grill and it’s probably the chicken or beef you’ll be eating in your tacos, burritos or nachos later that day and for the next few days to come. Order a couple pounds because two pounds magically seems like three or four every time I order. Don’t forget to peruse through the market for a Candy Coconut Roll, cause those things are awesome. Happy Yelping Phoenix, eat more carne asada and eat it from here.

Donut Depot – Menu with Prices – 3119 S Main St, Santa Ana

I must say the “CUSTOMER SERVICE is AWESOME”! It is a hole in the wall donut shop, a bit run down, but what I appreciate is that, they are open at the crack of dawn. They don’t seem irritated or even complain about it. Both women who helped me were super nice. It could use a little tender love and care, but what can you do! You dont go there to eat a steak everyone, you go there to get donut and coffees. My coffee was burning hot, my donuts were warmed up and I enjoyed every second of it. I must say I hate the parking though LOL, over all I will be visiting again! Thank You to the women and cooks for opening up so early in the morning for some of us folks!

Coffee Guy Cafe – Menu with Prices – 6700 N Davis Hwy, Pensacola

The Coffee Guy Cafe is AMAZING!!! Large, open atmosphere with AWESOME baristas and customer service!!! As a tea drinker, for years I was limited to Starbucks for my varied tea drinks. No longer! The Coffee Guy is closer to my business, and I can just walk over for goodies! The CHAI tea latte, LONDON FOG latte (with Earl Grey or Jasmine Green), and the MATCHA GREEN tea latte, all with soymilk, of course, are my faves!!! The oatmeal, soups (especially the chicken and wild rice), and chicken salad (better than Fresh Market’s) are delish!! I want to try the mini Belgian waffles!!! They look and smell AMAZING!! The chocolate, espresso cake is a super charged, appeased chocolate-craving, delight!!! Even though I’m not a coffee drinker, I LOVE coffee foods, and that cake does not disappoint!!! Gennessi is super sweet, amazing, and always remembers my preferences!!! Blake is the same and so full of personality, and super, super sweet! Everyone here is AWESOME, but bad for me, that I don’t remember their names! Luckily, she is here, while I’m writing this review!! Otherwise, others would be mentioned by name! I ALWAYS look forward to seeing the friendly baristas!!!

Hanami Sushi & Grill – Menu with Prices – 11811 Mukilteo Speedway, Everett

My favorite sushi place in the Pacific Northwest as it is only minutes away from home. Located off of the Mukilteo Speedway, this restaurant is always one I love coming back to since their whole staff is friendly and welcoming. I am a huge fan of their tempura shrimp roll and their Katsu. Although the rolls may be big, they are super tasty and flavorful, as they are some of my favorite sushi rolls ever. Their super crunch roll, mountain roll, and volcano roll are also good options to choose from if you’re looking for sushi. Their katsu don and their spicy pork bulgolgi are great options too. They both come with a miso soup and the bulgolgi comes with a salad and bowl of rice. The katsu breading is very flavorful and the bulgolgi is always sizzling hot when it comes out! Their chicken teriyaki is okay – I would definitely choose something else as an option for lunch or dinner! Hanami is definitely a place that you won’t want to miss. The only thing after coming here for 10+ years is that they increase their prices over the years. I guess good food comes with a price; however Hanami is definitely worth visiting if you’re in Mukilteo!

Domestique Coffee – Satellite (Saturn) Menu with Prices 200 41st St S, Birmingham

They were wonderful, the atmosphere was very laid back and inviting. Would be a great place to grab a coffee and study or work on a paper (many people were). The employees were stellar, and the service was awesome! A friend of mine has a strange diet due to health reasons and she asked about the drinks and opted for water. After she paid he asked her what she was hoping and looking for concerning drinks so that they could better serve people later. I absolutely love that, and so did she because often she feels judged for things of that sort, or feels like a bother, so it meant a lot. We both got a ham and cheese croissant and had them warmed up, and I had an iced coffee. The bread was amazing and the coffee was where I didn’t even need sugar or anything. The drink menu was full of options. But the food menu wasn’t, (which I didn’t mind because that’s not the real goal of a coffee shop) however, we went for a early lunch so I don’t know about later.

Scal’s Sports Bar – Menu with Prices – 3 Mill St, Worcester

Came to Southbridge for a conference, it was Super Bowl Sunday and four of us were looking for a great place with awesome local fans to watch the Pats go for #6. So we found Scal’s on Yelp. It was a fairly quick trip to Worchester and we had a blast. Chris (co-owner) was super! He brought in pizzas and snacks for everyone for the Super Bowl. The local crowd was fantastic. Thanks for making this Super Bowl LII experience for us out-of-towners so memorable. The only thing that would have made this a more awesome experience would have been win #6 for the Pats. They don’t serve food, but you can get your eats elsewhere and come back for the game and a great atmosphere. If I’m in the area and the Bosox or Bruins or Celts are in the playoffs, I would definitely stop by Scal’s again… or anytime. It’s just a great place to hang out.
