Great selection of products from all over. Tons of great beers and some great cider too. The little tasting room is super cool and I’m excited to experience it at some point in the near future.

TreeRock Social Cider & Mead Bar and Patio Menu with Prices 760 Biltmore Ave, Asheville

This is a tough one to review because it is in the category for me of “Did Like, Probably won’t go back”. My wife and I both like cider. They had a bunch of cider and the owner was a great hostess. She opened early when she saw us coming and gave us several samples. She was genuinely excited about cider and so were we. They have a great selection. The reason I say we probably will not return is that it is kind of a novelty place. Not a lot of selection outside of cider. Not a lot of food if any. Really recommend you give it a try. Wasn’t exactly our cup of tea, but it is a nice place with a cool vibe.

Nine Pin Cider Works Menu with Prices 929 Broadway, Albany

Support local, support cute shops, support cool hang outs! I have never been to Nine Pin, really never had the cider much either, but mentioned going while we were at Druthers down the way and we all decided to go grab a flight. They have some parking but I can imagine it being hard to find a spot on a nice weekend. The outdoor area, entrance, tap room, everything is so well decorated, cute and inviting. I just enjoyed the feeling of walking in there with the bright greens and cool artwork. The staff was very pleasant and helpful in choosing a flight. I must admit, I do not like cider. Why did I want to come? Simple – Local cidery, good reviews, must visit! To my delight, they actually offered quite a few beers for tasting as well! I went with trying 3 of their dryer ciders and one IPA they offered. The flight was $7, not a bad deal. We sipped on them for about 30 minutes for our visit. Everyone’s favorite cider was the “Dark n Stormy”. It was nice they also offer snacks, such as hand pies and cheese plates. Very cool! I would like to come back to do some more tastings and enjoy the atmosphere. If you like cider this is a must stop!

Merkin Vineyards Old Town Scottsdale – Menu with Prices – 7133 E Stetson Dr #4, Scottsdale

I have been dying to go to the new tasting room and I’m so excited to have one not too far from home. I had a great experience at the tasting room in Jerome and so I gathered a couple of my coworkers who love wine and we did a girls date yesterday afternoon! Eva took great care of us. They didn’t have any wine flights but they do 2oz tasters… $2 for Merkin and $3 for Caduceus. Instead of glasses we really wanted to try a ton of things and I super recommend going this route. I’d had Chupacabra before and it was delicious once again, however I have two new favs: Chupacabra Bubbles and Shinola. White wise, aside from the Chupa Bubbles, I really enjoyed the Chupacabra Blanca. The Diddler and Orancia were also really nice as well and unique in their taste as I’d never had anything quite like them. The only wine I felt was underwhelming was the Four Eight White… I love a good Riesling and this one fell a bit short. The Tarzan Red was my second new favorite red and I also liked the Oeste as well… (it had a longer name can’t remember). At the end I decided to switch it up and try the Puscifer Queen B cider. I am always a fan of cider and this was so good… not overly sweet or acidic like some cinders are. A cider for wine lovers. I bought a 4-pack. Food wise, we all shared the mushrooms to start. I am a mushroom fanatic and forager, and was excited to see local Sun Valley Harvest’s on the menu. It’s rare to see mushrooms on a menu that aren’t the typical portobello, white button, or shiitake. They served king trumpets, oysters and hen of the woods (maitake). The soft cheese served with them is to die for as are the sautéed onions, garlic and the sauce. I am still dreaming about this plate. The charcuterie and cheese plates were great, and the Bleu cheese was my absolute favorite. We didn’t have room for the gelati but will be back to try it! Merch wise they have a nice little selection and I love the open back Caduceus Cellars shirt I got, along with the stemless wine glass. Maynard doesn’t just make great music, he’s making great wine too. Thank you Merkin Vineyards for opening up such a beautiful new tasting room in such a cool part of town! Can’t wait to come back!

IBU Brewery – Menu with Prices – 3703 Brewerton Rd, Syracuse

IBU is tucked away, if it weren’t for the sign, you’d probably miss it. Look for the Green building. This place has indoor cornhole, jumbo janga and tons of board games for you to play while you enjoy a beer. Their beer selection was limited, however, with several beers either fermenting or on slated to be on tap in the future. The bartender was very friendly, offering $2 4oz beers, $3 8oz, and $6 16oz. We liked the Cram Session pale ale a lot. They offered chips for a dollar, but free pretzels or popcorn is an easy welcomed improvement. Plan to come back in the future when there’s more beers on tap. Hopefully more IPAs!

Deschutes Brewery Tasting Room – Menu with Prices – 315 Market St SE, Roanoke

We were in the Roanoke area with some time to kill before meeting some friends for dinner so we decided to stop in and try this tasting room. It is located down in the market area and is in a pretty cool area that has some interesting shops and a farmers market style booths on some of the sidewalks. However, for us, parking was a little bit of an issue. There may be more open parking somewhere, but we found a space on the street and had to pay a meter to park. The tasting room is very nice. It was kind of crowded on a Saturday afternoon, but that was to be expected. There were a lot of people that looked like they had stopped in from shopping or were finishing up a bike ride. The bartenders were very nice and knowledgeable about the beers. We did a flight and the beers were good. They had a lot of IPAs and a few dark beers, which are not my favorites, but they had a few lagers and pilsners. Pretty cool place. We will definitely go again when we are downtown.

Portland Beer Hub – Menu with Prices – 320 Fore St, Portland

Great little beer tasting place we came across as we strolled through Portland. In addition to selling a number of local beers they also have a tasting area where you can buy by the glass if you can get a flight. We went with a 4 beer flight and had the bartender make a few recommendations for us. Overall we really enjoyed the four beers we selected. They also have a nice selection of games you can play and free nuts for you while you are drinking. Really enjoyed this place and would definitely stop back in here in the future.

Blue Sky Bar Menu with Prices 247 E Broad St, Athens

“There’s some blue sky! Let us chase it!” — Sense and Sensibility (1995) What a great bar! Huge beer selection, including cider! It’s beautiful inside – but a hard place to enter if you have already been drinking a lot in town as there are quite a few stairs. My friends and I entered at the end of our pub crawl and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There were plenty of drinks to choose from to satisfy all 8 of us – shots, beers, cider, etc. We were seated at a table across from the bar and had to go to the bar to get our drinks – only drawback – but being the end of the night, I didn’t care as much. Getting a water back was a bit more challenging. I had to ask 3 times to get an ice water (I like to hydrate while I drink). Our shots were not an issue, nor were our beers. The bartender was helpful and not super speedy, but not slow. I’d definitely return on my next trip to Athens.

Kilowatt Brewing Oceanside Taproom & Provisions – Menu with Prices – 406 Mission Ave, Oceanside

I checked out this tasting room yesterday with some friends and was completely blown away by the beer, the atmosphere and the service. It’s a perfect fit in the Oceanside vibe. I drank the K58 Mexican Lager, the Dopplebock, tasted a few others and they were all 5 star beers. My friends all raved about what they were drinking too. The games are really fun to play and could act as the perfect ice breakers if you are by yourself or with a group looking to find new friends. There is a movie theater directly across the street which will make date night that much better. I didn’t get a chance to try the food this time but that is a great option to have when you’re enjoying a brew. The two beertenders that were behind the bar last night (Rachel and Justina) were super friendly, funny and very informative on the beer choices. Customer service is key in the tasting room experience which can either make or break that experience and the two beertending last night definitely made the beer tasting experience very enjoyable. This new tasting rooms decor is already super psychedelic looking and I was told that it will only become even more mind bending with days to come. I already can’t wait to return.

Tree Branch Cider House – Menu with Prices – 6953 Warner Ave, Huntington Beach

Wait it’s like a brewery tasting room, but for CIDERS! Small but great location on Warner and Valley View right between two food restaurants in which makes it really lucky to go in grab some food and go out to grab a ciders next door. We totally landed here by random/lucky mistake while trying to find new places to eat while house sitting around the area. On once side there’s a vegan restaurant near by, almost walking distance so when Yelped nearby pubs/ drinks this little jewel came up! The owner is super cool, even tho he had regulars and close friends by the bar, he was nice enough to go to OUR TABLE AND TOOK OUR ORDER! That was soooo nice of him. He then later walked us thru the cider selection and recommended our flight according to our food (which we brought in) Either way our 1st experience was great. We had good food and great drinks. A place to come back to! Give it a try, bring your food and get ready to have a great time!

New Mexico Hard Cider Taproom – Menu with Prices – 505 Cerrillos Rd a, Santa Fe

I’m sitting here relaxing outside on a sunny day in Los Angeles. We are brewing and drinking some cider from a cider place about 2 1/2 hours away. They have great cider choices mind you but I can’t stop thinking of the dill pickle cider I had there last October. I luckily was driving back to LA the next day so I drank a few pints and got a 32 ounce growler to take with me so my fiancé could experience this wonderful cider. We drank and loved this cider. They had some other great ciders as well. A tart cherry as I remember. Great space, friendly staff. I miss it and the dill pickle cider. Hands down my favorite cider of all time. Maybe not for everyone but I love pickles and I love this cider. I sadly can’t find anything like it here and anywhere near ( 3 hour journey) me. Sooooo….when is the soonest I can drive there and it will be on tap?

Mayer Bros Cider Mill Store – Menu with Prices – 1540 Seneca Creek Rd, Buffalo

My heart feels so full every time I visit Mayer Bros. I’ve been visiting for years and there’s been some exciting recent updates I’ve noticed. Huge example, there’s a side parking lot many people never knew about because it was never connected to the shop. They poured a beautiful concrete sidewalk and now it’s much safer walking away from the street. (Also recommend using this lot because the spots against the street are extremely stressful backing out of) They’re open everyday 6am-8pm. Extremely flexible hours for busy families. They opened in August this year and that was super exciting. Had all typical products and they’re fabulous. They have a large selection of fresh baked good, but I can’t possibly leave there without getting a cider slushie. They’re extremely about the environment and support reducing and recycling. You can bring in a reusable cup the size near the size of their slushie cups and they’ll fill those for you. Also for sale are tons of cute gift ideas, recipe ideas, and cider jugs to take home. The employees are so sweet and are happy to answer questions. It’s a great place to take your family, to check out with friends, or even go by yourself if you’re feeling fall and festive!

Growler USA – Katy – Menu with Prices – 1443 FM 1463 #100, Katy

This is a really great place to have a microbrew or two! The selection of beers that they have is not matched by anyone I know of in the area! My buds and I frequent the place, largely due to their selection of a wide and diverse selection of brews. I am an IPA fan, Billy is a Porter/Stout fan, Joe Digs IPA’s too, and John prefers Belgians. I’m telling you folks this place has a distinct & diverse selection, and it’s very seasonal, which is very cool! The food…I can honestly say nothing we’ve had has tasted bad. It’s all great! We’ve agreed…once a week for two beers and a bit to eat is needed and pleasing. It’s a great place and the staff is awesome!
