NEW BREAKFAST/LUNCH SPOT ALERT: Did some researching and found this new GEM!!! It’s a little hidden if you come through the Main Street entrance. You go through a building and walk past the front desk and their is the entrance. But if you come from the Cathedral Park entrance you walk right into the restaurant. PARKING: can be tough, but it’s the city. We parked on Pearl Street and walked (bring quarters). MENU: so many delicious options to choose from and they serve breakfast until they close at 3pm. HUGE PRICE: very reasonable. Three meals came to $30 without tip. Please don’t raise the prices . FOOD: was beyond DELICIOUS! We ordered the Croque Madame came with homemade chips and the Eggs Benedict with home fries (you can get fruit instead). And they have an OFF THE MENU ITEM – crepe breakfast wrap. It was light and fluffy. I recommend if you are not super hungry. Ask for hot sauce on the side if you like a little spice. SERVICE: You order at the counter, get a number, bring it to any available table and then they deliver your food when it’s ready. Josh was fabulous at the counter and super friendly/helpful on what to order. The two servers who delivered our food were also friendly. I enjoyed the cafeteria style. ATMOSPHERE: open concept (which I love). A good amount of two top/four top tables. Also a long family style table. Great for a business spot, friend(s) catch up, or a solo focus mission and anything else really. ENHANCEMENTS: The only thing I noticed that I would want ENHANCED, is in the restroom their was no hook for a bag or a purse. I spoke to the owner (Armen) and mentioned this to him and he said he would take care of it. COME CHECK this place out and enjoy the food, service and good city vibes!!!

Lindi’s Eatery – Menu with Prices – 256 W Main St, Fort Wayne

Adorable spot that is a fantastic addition to the downtown lunch scene! You can find this gem located off Main Street across from the community center. There is a bright yellow entrance so it’s hard to miss! The interior has white walls and pastel colored decor. It is lunch room style so you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The staff is incredible. They greet you immediately with a smile and want to help you. I watched them walk up to each customer through the menu options and tell them every detail about the daily specials. They offer a variety of sandwiches and soups, fresh baked goodies and a fabulous salad bar! I opted for the sandwich special. It was a soft bun with bacon, cheddar, tomato and a jalapeño tartar. It was warm, fresh and tasted wonderful! I cannot wait to return to try the salad bar and other tasty options. If you haven’t already, check Lindi’s out!

Daylight Donuts – Menu with Prices – 2120 S Garnett Rd, Tulsa

Another family owned donut franchise!! This is a small spot in a non descript strip mall just off the corner of 21st and Garnett. The people inside are super friendly and say to everybody as soon as they walk in the door. The donuts here are very similar to other daylight donuts across town but the people always make it special. I enjoyed the selection of what they had to offer. My daughter certainly enjoyed her Hello Kitty donut. This is a good spot to stop for a quick and cheap breakfast and the proceeds go to a hard working family.

City Line Cafe & Deli Menu with Prices 1144 Broadway, Albany

We were hungry for a quick early lunch, late breakfast after setting up for an event in Menands. It was about 10:45. Heading down Broadway towards Albany most of the restaurants we might have stopped at weren’t open yet. We saw City Line and an open sign and we were there. A man was walking out with a takeout bag as we walked in. I suspect they do a lot of takeout for the local workers. We, however, sat at one of a few tables. The friendly woman (owner?) at the counter took our order. They have a large variety of sandwiches with simple ingredients which can be made into wraps or paninis too. They were out of soup on this Saturday but they have it for the weekday lunch crowd. They also have lots of breakfast options including breakfast wraps. I ordered the Tim’s Favorite wrap with turkey and lots of veggies and garlic, basil mayo. My husband got a breakfast wrap with sausage and eggs. My wrap hit the spot. Average deli turkey and wrap but the veggies were crisp and the mayo good. My husband enjoyed his breakfast wrap. Nothing exceptional here but if you’re in the area and need a quick bite here’s your spot.

Hannah’s Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 3083 Breckinridge Blvd #100, Duluth

A pleasant surprise! Hubby and I were in the area looking for a breakfast spot. Yelp showed good reviews, so we gave it a try. Note: At first we were not sure we were in the right place as we were looking for the store sign that says Hannah’s Place. The sign reads Home Cooking. On the actual door it does say Hannah’s place. The restaurant was very clean and may be family run. You stand in line and order from a breakfast menu board with 5 options (photos as well), makes it very easy to place your order. There’s also a few options on the side as well. Staff was very friendly, helpful and quick service. They bring the food out to your table and I was so excited that not only it tasted great, but it was very hot! It’s hard to get breakfast served hot! I was thrilled! It was not waiting around in the back for a server to bring it, it was cooked and immediately served. Great job! It looks like for lunch they serve 1 meat and 2 veggie meals. We will be back to try those. I’ve already told a friend about this place. It’s not fancy, just a normal good breakfast for a great value! We both really enjoyed it. I even told one of the staff members that we were impressed. Oh and their sweet tea was great!!!

GGS BARBACOA CAFE. authentic mexican food tabasco city, smoke kansas city bbq, breakfast and lunch. – Menu with Prices – 210 S 7th St, Kansas City

So happy to have found this gem. The owners are from Tabasco, MX, which is at the southern tip of Mexico and is has similar cuisine to Oaxaca’s. The smoker is going outside the front door when you walk in, and you immediately realize that this isn’t your usual taqueria. They do specialize in breakfast dishes like chilaquiles, enchiladas, tamales, all topped with fried eggs, but have non-breakfast offerings. On my first visit today I went with the beef Barbacoa enchiladas with two eggs on top, with rice and beans. The beans are made with drippings from beef Barbacoa instead of lard and they are unbelievably good. I’m guessing that the yelp listing says that this is New Mexican cuisine because of these flat NM style enchiladas, but it’s definitely southern Mexican cuisine. One indication of this is their tamales that are cooked in banana leaves rather than corn husks, which are usually softer and moister. I don’t eat pork and they were out of the chicken tamales, but plan to get a dozen to go next time I’m there. The beef brisket torta looks incredible, and they even have an usual torta that has two tamales inside and red sauce on top, ahogado style. The downside is that the place is tiny with only a few seats around the counter and one small table in the back, otherwise I would definitely bring larger groups of out-of-town guest here. Before trying this spot my favorite Mexican restaurant in the entire Kansas City area was the Corner Mexican Food in Grandview, But I’ve got to say that GG’s is definitely my new favorite Mexican spot. Great looking deserts too. Update: Back again and we tried the machaca and a huarache. Brisket and eggs was great, and homemade tortillas were the best I’ve had in KC but the chicken on the machaca was a show stopper, quite literally the best pollo I’ve ever had in Mexican a dish in my entire life….no exaggeration.

Joanne’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1141 N Mountain Ave, Ontario

Grabbed breakfast here with a friend this morning and was immediately reminded how good this place is! It’s a classic restaurant with genuine home-cooked food at a great price. It’s a hidden gem in the city of Ontario and seemingly everyone’s go-to breakfast spot after church on Sundays. They have an extensive menu and it’s hard to choose what to order. I landed on a meat lovers omelette which came with cheese, sausage, bacon, and ham and they did NOT skimp on the meat (or cheese). It came with a side of hashbrowns and I paid a bit extra for a side of pancakes instead of toast (because their pancakes are delish). The hashbrowns were a bit basic so I will probably try the breakfast potatoes next time instead, but overall my meal hit the spot. Service was excellent and our coffee and tea were never empty. We had a lot of catching up to do and they didn’t harass us to give up our table even though they get busy. They have a decent-sized parking lot connected to the restaurant and street parking not too far for overflow. I highly recommend everyone check out this spot and say hello to the turtles and koi fish in front for me!

Rio California – Menu with Prices – 1233 Preservation Park Way, Oakland

Rio has great food, a charming venue, and a very friendly owner who makes you really feel welcome. This little homey Brazilian restaurant is right in a beautiful residential neighborhood, located inside a cute little house surrounded by lots of greenery. The inside is quite small and a bit cramped, and it gets busy during rush hour. There also isn’t any table service – you just order at a counter, then they’ll bring your food to your table, and when you finish, they kindly ask that you bring your dishes to the dirty dish bin. So perhaps don’t come if you’re expecting high-class service and accommodations. But if you want a friendly and casual environment with delicious food, you’ve picked a good spot. I had the feijoada, a traditional Brazilian dish, and it met all my expectations. They don’t serve it every day, but if they do have it, you should give it a try. I also got a chicken empanada, which was huge and very satisfying. Overall, the food and experience here are fantastic. Pay a visit next time you’re in the mood for Brazilian cuisine!

1912 Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 2045 N, Forbes Blvd #105, Tucson

I came here for the Beer & Empanada pairing. I enjoyed the vibe of this place, but TBH this spot is a little out of the way for me since my hood is a bit further east/north. But, I dig that you can get a beer and Tucson Tamale at the same time! The service was a bit slow, but we did have a table of 6ish people. I enjoyed the empanadas and the beer pairings. I actually really enjoyed the Stout (didn’t think I would) and the Gose. I was surprised since I am usually an IPA lover- I found theirs to be super good but too hoppy for my palette that night. I am not sure this would be my new spot given the location – but I enjoyed the little event and trying out a new bar!

Maple Street Biscuit Company- Sherrill Hill – Menu with Prices – 9314 Kingston Pike, Knoxville

I’ve enjoyed breakfast at Maple Street Biscuit Company more than a dozen times and the food is always delicious and the service spot on. This morning when I stopped in it was noticeably understaffed (which has never been the case previously). When I approached the counter the young man (Adam) explained to me that it might take just a few more minutes than normal to get my food due to an unexpected rash of sickness and unavailability from their staff for this morning. As a business owner myself, I had complete empathy for what he and the 1 other lady that was working with him were going through. Even under these circumstances Adam was cheerful & friendly, the food was just as good as always, and the wait time was not bad at all, especially considering the circumstances. The lady in the kitchen, likewise, was not panicky and was doing a great job. What a blessing to have 2 dedicated employees like these two were this morning. Kudos to you both!

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers – Menu with Prices – 5717 O St, Lincoln

Yet another Freddy’s has opened inn Lincoln. This one has to be in the most logistically awful location for a restaurant ever. Going east on O street, you only have one shot to get in. And then you are startled by numerous No Not Enter signs. Forget about it coming west on O street. If you want to get there, you will have to loop several blocks to get there. From the other direction. Going North on Cotner Blvd. you have to be in the far left lane to get in the entrance. Miss it and you’ve got to go several blocks to R street, finagle your way around the City of Lincoln’s better idea of merging of roads to get onto 56th street to then make a left turn on O street again to merge to the far right lane to catch the only entrance, lest you have to circle around for blocks to try again. That being said. Worst location to put a restaurant. The building is sparkling new. Abet about half the size of the other Freddie’s in Lincoln. The staff is friendly. And the good is as good as. Any of the other Freddie’s locations that I have been to in the past. As with all things. Refinement will happen. But you can’t fix a poor location. I have reduced my rating by 1 star for the poor location and layout of the parking lot.

Thai Diamond 2 Menu with Prices 2222 SE 27th Ave, Amarillo

I work across the street. Always smells delicious. Called and placed a to-go order. Was NOT mentioned over the phone that they only accept cash. Walked up to the door, which has a sign on it that says CASH ONLY. Rather than be discourteous and not inform them, I went inside to let an employee know that I would have to cancel my order. Upon approaching the counter I thought there were no employees in the front of the house, until finally, a girl who I thought had been a customer got up from the table in which her and her partner were eating, and with a sigh she walked behind the counter. I let her know I’d have to cancel my order because I didn’t have cash. “You don’t have cash?” She asked while rolling her eyes. “No, I’m sorry.” “There’s an ATM in the parking lot right across the street.” “I know, I work across the street.” “Why don’t you just walk across the street and get some cash?” “Because I’m on my lunch break, I don’t have time.” (not that it’s any of your business) “So you want to cancel your order?” “Well yes I’m gonna have to.” Another sign and another eyeroll as she walks away mid-sentence to yell to the kitchen “cancel the to-go, she doesn’t have cash.” That was the end of our conversation as she sat back down at the table with her partner to finish her lunch that I had so rudely interrupted. -A simple “by the way, we take cash only” when I placed my order over the phone would have meant this never happened in the first place. -Girl who works at the counter weekdays at noon needs a serious attitude adjustment and to have a date with (what I assume was) her boyfriend when she’s NOT on the clock. Sadly I won’t be returning due to the way I was treated. Plus cash only is a real pain. It’s a shame because it always smells amazing, so you get two stars instead of one.

Ideal Diner – Menu with Prices – 1314 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis

I really enjoyed breakfast here! It’s such a unique spot with great food and service. I wouldn’t not recommend going with a group of 4 or more because all they have for seating is a counter. Legit just one long counter. The flat top is in front of you and everything is made before your eyes. Depending on when you go, you might be waiting for a bit and after you are done eating there is likely people ready to fill your seat. But it’s worth it. Everything is great and a simple satisfying traditional breakfast. In my group of 3 we each ordered something different then split the pancakes. After eating we agreed we all could have just order a bunch of pancakes and that would have been perfect because they were so so so so good! Maybe a side of bacon or two. ? Highly recommend stopping in!
