I have been ordering Papa Murphy’s for many years and have always been pleased with their quality and prices. Their stores usually run very well even when busy. Unfortunately this was not the case thus time. The pies were made well. I have no complaint about the food. My complaint is with the staff. I ordered two of their eight dollar specials. The person taking the order over the phone repeated it back to me. The pies, eight dollar’s each. Upon arrival the store was empty but for one gentleman. The pizza racks were empty but for my two pies. When I was being rung up at the store I was charged $20. I said,” pardon me, I ordered the eight dollar special”. No even bothering to look at me, the young lady said,” those arnt on special any more. It’s the New York now”, and handed back my card. That was it. No offer. No apology. Not even any eye contact. Just turned around and walked off. I stood there for a moment in dismay, replaying the last few moments through my mind just to make sure I wasn’t insane. My first inclination was to call her back and ask for something to be done. I would have been happy with the New York pizza. I wasn’t married to the special they had when I ordered over the phone. After a moment’s reflection on the young lady’s behavior I thought, rightly or not, any protest on my part would be futile. I’m not sure if I have ever posted a bad review regarding anything. This may be petty, but I am terribly disappointed with my interaction at this store, this individual and to a lesser degree, humanity.

Gusto Pizzeria Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 8125 5th Ave, Brooklyn

Let me just start off by saying that the (phone) customer service was terrible and the Sicilian pizza and garlic knots were the worse I’ve ever had! My friends and I are visiting New York for the very first time. We caught a later flight into town and once we checked into out Airbnb we were all starving. It was a Wednesday night after 10pm so not a lot of places were open. Since we were all eager to trying our 1st New York pizza, we decided to give this place a try. When we called, a lady answered the phone and she was very rude, was rushing us off the phone, was very short with us and acted like she didn’t want to be bothered. You would thing this should have been our queue, right? When the order arrived, we noticed that both the garlic knots were burnt. The pizza was flavorless, did NOT have enough cheese, the sauce tasted like chef boyardee sauce and overall the pizza tasted like the oven – you could even taste the burnt bottom crust. DESPICABLE!! We couldn’t even eat the garlic knots they were so burnt! My friend was so disappointed that she was almost in tears. She said she couldn’t eat the pizza – it was THAT bad! NEVERRRRRR AGAIN!!!! I would rather enjoy a Jack’s frozen pizza!! Unfortunately we were so tired and pissed that we didn’t even snap a pic!!!

Frankie’s Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 205-01 Linden Blvd, Jamaica

Little Frankie’s is a great black-owned establishment and we enjoy their pizza a lot. Their prices are great, the pizza is good and it’s perfect for tired parents or when you’re planning a party. As a matter of fact, we ordered pies from there every Friday during the summer. They have 2 for $10 happy hour specials between 5 and 6, and an every day $5 special. I just ordered a bunch of pies for my daughter’s birthday party yesterday and the customer service was impeccable. We really like the Hawaiian pizza pie at our house and there’s an ongoing debate on whether it tastes better with tomato sauce or BBQ. Either way, it’s a great spot that’s worth trying.

Milo SRO Pizza – Menu with Prices – 826 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica

After having my eye on this place for a few months now, my girlfriend and I finally had a chance to stop by this past Saturday night. Luckily for us we came in at a time when they weren’t busy and still bringing out hot and fresh pies. So of course like any other hungry Yelpers would have, we ordered a little of everything. Well, at least half of everything Haha Being a born and raised New Yorker I like to think Pizza is in my DNA. And because of that I’m extremely picky and choosy on pizzerias in Los Angeles that claim to be “New York Style”. Even if they founder and owner is or are from New York. Since my move to Los Angeles I’ve been disappointed more times from the “New York Style” pizza scene then I can count. But of course I’m always willing and wanting to continue learning and eating at any pizzeria that claims to be “New York Style”. At first impression this place seemed pretty cool. Your typical Los Los Angeles pizza spot. Having a few customers dining in, which is somewhat always a good sign. What really stood out off the bat was the customer service coming their on duty staff. I say it over and over but I am a customer service first type of guy. Really good to great customer service will keep mine and my families business coming. All of the young ladies were all very welcoming, sweet and attentive. Always asking how are food was and if we needed anything else. Their kitchen staff was very helpful in their own way, double checking on the specifications of my orders. All of that was much appreciated. My girlfriend and I were pretty hungry so we did a good job ordering a few different menu items. To both fill ourselves up and to make to most of our stop there. I was not a big fan of their slices. All of which were more dough than I like and should have been for “New York Style”. I also didn’t taste much flavor from their sauce. They quality and freshness of their ingredients and toppings did stand out and were very good. The two Sicilian slices we ordered were two of our favorites our of the bunch. And they could have been better themselves. We also ordered a dozen wings in two different flavors(which are mentioned in my photos) All the wings slipped right off the bone. Which was a nice surprise. However they flavors were questionable. Both did not stand out and wow us. And were applied with a very light coating over the wings. To drink we ordered a Hibiscus tea. My girlfriend ordered it and loved it. I enjoyed it myself. But then again I’m not a fan of Hibiscus tea like that Haha Over all the food we did eat could have been better. To me there was nothing “New York” about the pizza. It was very LA pizza in my opinion. However I will be sure to return soon to continue trying other menu items and when I do I will be sure to mention them here. If you’re in the mood for pizza and you’re in the area, stop by. There’s worse pizza out there and you wouldn’t be wrong coming here. I’m sure my son would love their pizza and tell me I’m crazy. There is street parking so good luck with that. No customer parking sucks but hey, that’s Santa Monica for you.

Fahrenheit Pizza & Brewhouse Menu with Prices 17 Lee St S, Asheville

Ok folks. Our first try here. The typical – I read so so many great posts I just had to come. So we did. Small establishment neat and clean . Staff was attentive and kind. Now let’s get to the action. You order at counter then take a seat. My pics explain the pies and calzone. My calzone was just ok. I guess I’m a spoiled long islander but growing up in NY the pizza mecca. I just expected a crust to be lighter more airy and yet still a bite. Very scarse ricotta. Mozzarella was aplenty. ( dont think its poll-o ) not much sausage or mushrooms. I so wanted it to be killer. I really did. With that said I would order a pie next time. My wife had the 16″vodka. She said it was ok so with that I took it she wasnt overwhelmed. My daughters half pepperoni I’m sorry to say was severly undercooked mostly bottom center of hers she stated sauce was to sweet. She prefers we stick with standard pizza. My son had the other half of that 16″ his was bbq chicken . He said the cheese was to thick and very minimal chicken. I also tried each of the different pies. I really wasnt overly impressed. We will try it again as I feel ALMOST everyone deserves a second chance. With soda drinks it was 57 dollars and some change. Standard n favillas are tough to beat. But no one in Asheville has yet to produce a true NY pie. It’s a combination of dough, sauce, proper cheese spices. And most of all the fold. A fold without “the drip” isnt pizza folks. If your from NY you know what I mean

First Class Pizza – Menu with Prices – 6420 Irvine Blvd, Irvine

I used to live in this area a few years ago and I remember First Class Pizza as being super greasy and not very good. Well, fast forward to now and the pizza I ate here was delicious. I’m not sure if anything changed, but I’m with it now. We ordered a large salad to accompany the pizza and I was very impressed. Normally salads at pizza places are an after thought. Not here. The lettuce was fresh and the salad was beautifully dressed with toppings. Definitely not what I was expecting. The beer list is dope and they even have really good bottles available. My only complaint was that the service was kinda slow. I would have thought they’d drop off the salad first, but they didn’t bring it until after they dropped off the pizza. It’s always good when your local pizza spot is good.

Two Boots Williamsburg – Menu with Prices – 558 Driggs Ave, Brooklyn

We’re driving back from Baltimore and my youngest son and his girlfriend are in tow. It’s getting close to lunchtime and everyone is hungry. My wife says, what’s everyone hungry for? The kids yell: pizza! Great, do you know of a place? I look at my son in the rear view and we both say: Mr. Pink My wife shakes her head and says heck no. It’s too spicy for me. And that’s the beauty about Two Boots pizza, there are many different styles and sizes. We all don’t have to agree on one large pizza. We snagged a spot a block away and walk into an empty spot. There’s cool art everywhere, from the tables to the wall paintings. All rock and Brooklyn themes, we’re all taking pictures and having fun. We ordered a small Mr. Pink and something similar to a regular pizza. What Two Boots is known for are their white pies. The girls don’t like white pizza so regular it is! I’m looking outside and I see a large peach tree? A tree grows in Brooklyn?? Very cool. The pizza comes to our table, man it’s on like Donkey Kong. Hot, sexy Pizza in the funked up Two Boots style. The corn meal crust is always a welcomed treat, we ate both pies like it was no ones business. There are many pizza choices you can make, especially in Brooklyn NY. There’s just something about a funky Two Boots pizza that keeps us coming back time after time. Cheers!

Cicis Pizza – Menu with Prices – 6633 Atlanta Hwy #340, Montgomery

The store is very nice the employees are friendly but the store manager Mr Joseph Boyd is very rude and needs to learn customer service!!I went into this store to specifically speak with him(He is the manager and name is on the door) But he would NEVER came over to me to see what I wanted. The cashier (very pleasant young lady) told him twice that I was there to see him and he continued to watch me behind the counter. He walked around as if trying to find something to do just to keep from speaking with me!He proceeded to get on his personal phone laugh and talking then he got on the store phone all while I sat patiently waiting for him to come and speak with me! I could have wanted to book a party order a large number of pizzas or looking for employment had a complaint etc but he had no desire to see what I wanted.I will be notifying corporate to see if this is the kind of business they teach their managers to run and if so now I know.I will not spend another penny at this location until they replace this manager or hopefully close down this location and rebuild out in Chantilly where I can guarantee this kinda behavior will not be tolerated from management.

Tropical Sno – Menu with Prices – 6630 W Cactus Rd Suite 114B, Glendale

I normally don’t leave reviews. As someone who works in customer service and regularly gets rated on it I know how detrimental they can be when they are not good. We have gone to this establishment several times and Have always had a good experience until tonight. After taking my kids to uptown jungle we were driving by and decided to stop. The lights were on and there was no hours of operation posted that I could see and the door was unlocked so we walked right in. The kids started picking out their flavors and we stood there for 2 to 3 minutes well a young girl who work there Sat on her phone standing against the counter. Finally a young man walked up and said sorry we are closed. I thought this was very odd due To the door not being on locked. Typically that is the 1st thing that is done when the store closes. I then went and looked up the store on Google to see their hours of operation because they were not posted on the door and sure enough it was closed. I did not expect them to serve me Past closing because I understand everyone wants to get home but it was definitely a let down that we were allowed to walk in and start picking out our flavors while someone stood there and it took someone else walking up minutes later to tell us. It might not be the best idea to happy young teenagers closing the store by themselves.

Meridian Cafe – Menu with Prices – 3375 Pine Ridge Rd #106, Naples

I have been there twice once for lunch and once for breakfast. The cheeseburger and fries were delicious. I would go back again and again for this meal. The avocado smash with poached eggs was delicious and I will order it again. The Home Fries were amazing – probably some of the best I have ever had. The owner buys amazing treats for dogs and makes sure your don’t leave empty handed. Ice water was brought out for Patti. The wait staff was both friendly and had an eye for detail. My only complaint and it is the same complaint I have everywhere – serving cream in little packs and I thought the coffee was just so so. I use t own a coffee store and this is always a pet peeve.

Texas Steak Express – Lubbock North – Menu with Prices – 606 W Loop 289, Lubbock

Wow, the customer service I just received was actualy hurtful. i called up for delivery and was placed on immediate hold for 5 minutes, before ordering not an anectotal five minutes, but a -my phone shows length of calls -actual five minutes. This is typical with steak express and i usually let it go but due to the way i was treated, i’m gonna go ahead and put that out there too. then I placed my order and after i reminded them that on a previous order they had left off two orders of rolls and i was promised a free desert the next time i ordered. now further detail on that.. when they messed up my order on the previous order i was cool and told em they didnt have to send a driver out, and the guy promised me a free desert on my next order. so Natasha looked at the notes and said it was noted i could have the rolls on the next order. I replied can you please check my history and see if thats the decision you wanna go with. I order lots with them steaks and such, 75 dollar tickets i thought this info would help my cause but i swear i feel it put them in combat mode. she checked with her manager dani of which… she just laid the phone down and i heard the entire conversation and it wasnt flattering..and came back telling me, i checked, thats the decision… i asked to speak to dani and when dani came to the phone i reminded that night i was cool and didnt request the driver come back and everything was thankful and nice and now that im calling in the item promised, with an order i was told it wasnt the case. the response was very cold that dani noted it up and that wasnt the case. i then asked dani to look and ask if my history was visible and dani said yes however that was the decision. i informed Dani they had just lost my business. also note this was the first time i ever asked them to correct an order although other things have been messed up in the past. i had never looked at thier rating here because its delivery, i usually like to check in and rate, but… it looks like others get the same treatment.. such a shame, i’ll miss having steak delivered, but i wont be called a liar or treated this way.

Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop – Menu with Prices – 5355 Dallas Pkwy suite 610, Frisco

Well I heard there was a new dessert place in town and i immediately had to go try it. The first thing i noticed walking up is that they are open from 10Am to 7PM daily and closed Sundays and i thought to my self how do you run over here for a pie after dinner out in the evening? The important thing to know is the format of the store is like Anything Bundt Cakes as compared to Emporium Pies. So they are more to go than to eat their like a cafe. I was greeted right away and shown around the store. She explained all the pies and options and was very helpful! I bought 4 of the small pies and got the dozen mini trial size pies. The mini pie sampler was a great way to try all the pies. In the small pies i got the Lemon Ice, Chocolate and the season Peach Pie. I read a few of the other reviews before i went and read that some people didn’t love the pie crust. Im more in their camp. It isn’t a bad pie crust but it isn’t a flaky crust that browns in the oven. So i have had other small pie crusts i liked better. The mini pie samplers end up with a lot of crust compared to filling. My favorites were the Chocolate and Key Lime because they didnt have the crust. The other pies were good but just not a lot of filling so you tasted more crust so the Pecan pie would be very good in the bigger size. The Chocolate and Lemon Ice in the small size pie were very good. I liked the Peach Pie as well but have had others i liked better. Everyone has slightly different tastes so you definitely go try them out!
