Today I came to the Bean Stop for the first time to grab an iced drink for some errands and I wasn’t expecting anything other than a typical drive up coffee stand but this place definitely exceeds expectations. The first thing I noticed was that you can get any size drink anywhere from an 8 ounce to a 32 ounce, this is awesome for me on days that I either want just a sip or need that big gulp sized coffee for finals. The barista was super nice, and the coffee is very well priced. I got a 24 ounce, iced London fog and it is for sure one of the better ones I’ve had. I always order a London Fog from new places because it’s simple, and difficult to get wrong. They use high quality tea and it was more flavorful than a lot of places that I’ve ordered the same thing from. This might just be my new coffee stop.

Hi-Fi Coffee Bar – Menu with Prices – 918a, Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach

I recently started working on the Boulevard in April. I started going to your coffee shop because your store has a conveniently priced small iced coffee with mocha. However I’ve only gotten my drink rung up and made correctly about three times which were the first three times I went there. Your employees are very very nice. For some reason the last few times I’ve been there I have been charged for the wrong drink and they have been made incorrectly, therefore my drinks have been terrible, and overcharged. The only reason why I haven’t really been able to speak to anybody whenever it happens at your establishment is because I never have any time because I’m always on shift when I go there, and can’t be gone long. It’s always a different person who does it so I’m not entirely sure if your employees have been trained correctly on your register or to make your drinks. It’s really not hard to make an iced coffee with mocha. I like this place a lot, but I’ll be forced to stop going there if my drinks are made incorrectly or if I am charged wrong one more time. I do hope that you guys take the time to fix this.

Orbit Coffee & Doughnuts – Menu with Prices – 1225 7th St Suite C, Oakland

VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE!!! But I’m getting ahead of myself.. SUMMARY: Space: 10/10 Staff: 10/10 Vietnamese Iced Coffee: 12/10 Peppermint Tea: 10/10 I was heading back to LA through the W Oakland Station Megabus stop and got dropped off early in the morning. Having some time in my hands I looked for nearby coffee shops for a pick-me-up while I wait. Did a quick Yelp search and this is the closest one that popped up. Donuts look good Space looked fantastic Close proximity to the station So, I made my trek. On my way i looked at some more photos and saw they serve Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It’s settled. This place could be blocks away (it’s only a block from the station though) and I will still make it. Anyone who has not tried Vietnamese Iced Coffee is missing out! Waited for a brief while until it opened and when I got there, the place does not disappoint. The space is laid out well with nice touches here and there. But the star of this review is the coffee. Love me some iced coffee and in my opinion this will always take the cake. It packs a punch but is tempered with the creamy goodness of condensed milk. I also got to try the Peppermint Tea per their recommendation and that one’s tranquility in a cup. Had these two with an apple fritter and it was tasty as well, perfect for a snack. To top it off, the owner was super nice, gracious, and very welcoming. Pleased to make this my first review and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Lakota Coffee Company – Downtown – Menu with Prices – 24 S 9th St, Columbia

There’s great food and coffee here but the baristas are a bit rude to customers if they don’t exactly know what they’re talking about. I ordered a cold brew not realizing that they don’t actually have that at this location but the barista at the register was helpful in fulfilling my order with an iced coffee instead (and that was absolutely okay). But, he did not tell me that there wasn’t actually cold brew so I didn’t grab my drink when they called “iced coffee”. When I didn’t come pick it up by myself, he was kind enough to bring it to me and he said “here’s your iced coffee” to which I questioned “cold brew?” because that was what I thought I had ordered. He dismissed my question and walked away mumbling a comment along the lines of “iced coffee IS cold brew” which I know it’s not. It isn’t made the same. What bothered me most is that he went to his coworkers to talk about me. He probably was not aware but I overheard him and I felt embarrassed even though I didn’t think I had said anything wrong. In Memorial Union on MU’s campus you can get Lakota coffee from Wheatstone Bistro and they offer cold brew. It’s definitely different than the iced coffee. It’s smooth and almost tastes like caramel. It is also served with a smile!

Yum Yum Donuts – Menu with Prices – 16530 Soledad Canyon Rd, Canyon Country

Yum Yum is one of my favorite places to stop by when I need some coffee or a bagel on my way to work. They’re super friendly, they’re very reasonable priced, and they offer such a wide variety of sandwiches/bagels/donuts/drinks/etc. that it’s no wonder I go in there and see so many people in line! I also love that they’re open 24/7 because other places (such as Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts) don’t open until later on in the morning. My typical order is just a medium coffee with a toasted everything bagel and cream cheese. They’re very close to my house as well so that’s an added plus!

Cielo Acai Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1611 Lead Hill Blvd, Roseville

I’ve had my eye on this place for a while now. Mostly since I found out they serve Temple coffee. So, a couple days ago, my coffee buddy & I decided to stop in for lunch to grab an iced drink when we were experiencing 100° temps. We walked in and found it was pretty empty, just one customer on her laptop off to the side. My friend and I had both stopped by before just to check things out & loved the inside decor & setup. Super cute & clean. Since it was our first time ordering, we perused the menu. I knew I’d be ordering a mocha (as per usual, only iced), but since it was lunch I wanted a bite to eat also. Saw they offered various types of tamales & for $4.25/ea (discounted with order of 2) I decided to give their chicken tamale a shot. My friend also ordered her typical vanilla latte & said she wanted to try the tamale too. Service was pleasant and friendly. We grabbed our table & waited for our order to be brought. Since there weren’t many people inside, it was nice to have a quiet chit-chat together, enjoying the cool A/C. Our drinks arrived quick & they were delicious!! To be expected when it was our favorite coffee. Not long after, maybe 10min or so, our food arrived piping hot & steaming! I totally forgot to take a pic, I was so hungry & anxious to dig in. We both really enjoyed the tamale! They unfortunately didn’t have any hot sauce to go with it for a little added spice, but these were so good even without it. What I liked was the portion of masa to the filling. We all hate when there’s so much cornmeal & not enough meat, right? Not the case here! The thing I liked the most about it tho was it was SUPER moist, not dry at all and a really nice flavor. I’m anxious to come back & try their other drink & food options. My only qualm about this place is it opens at 9a. I would LOVE to stop in before work to grab an açaí bowl & coffee, but since I start at 9a there’s no way. Definitely won’t stop me from coming again for lunch tho since their menu offers several different items w/healthy options!!

Three Bears Coffee Company – Menu with Prices – 2730 Maryville Pike, Knoxville

This is perhaps the most well placed coffee shop in South Knoxville, being right next to Alliance Brewing! I am so happy to have a place to stop here as I used to bike ride to the top of the hill past the bridge, stop, go ehhhh… and turn around during the mornings, not considering it worth it to bike back up that wetched thing after doing Ijams trails. I am now happy and please to say Ijams Trail Riders have a place to park their butts after an early morning ride, drink an iced coffee of regular price and good quality, and cruise on!

Brew D Licious – Menu with Prices – 667 Central Ave, St. Petersburg

I was finally able to try Brew D Licious and I loved it! My Brother and I were walking around St. Pete when we walked by and decided to go in. The moment we opened the door the smell of high quality coffee beans wafted towards us. We both looked at each other giddy. This was the type of coffee place we were looking for (side note: this was our second attempt at coffee this day..our first location was a failure). I headed to the counter with the intention of ordering my usual: black iced Americano. Then they mentioned that they had nitro coffee and offered me a sample. Of course, I had to try it. They handed me a generous sample in a glass. It was incredible. I quickly ordered a cup. I then asked if they could ice it (some places will, some don’t. I am a wuss when it comes to hot coffee). They said they don’t ice it…but…they could toss in a few coffee ice cubes for free. What? They freeze left over coffee at the end of the day into cubes. Brilliant. The nitrous coffee was smooth, silky, and flavorful. It was so good! It was definitely one of the better coffee experiences that I have had. Service was fantastic. The space is exactly what you expect from a small, local coffee shop. The only downside is the hours make it difficult for me to visit often. I will be back.

Grounds for Thought – Menu with Prices – 1833 W Southern Ave, Mesa

Oh man, SO GOOD and I’ve only tried two different types of drinks here. I highly recommend the Iced Wookie if you want a strong, creamy coffee drink. (Similar to an iced kicker or a white chocolate mocha if you know what those are). I get this as a treat since it is pretty pricey (around $4+) although they do have a stamp card so make sure to get one of those. You can get a free drink of your choice once you get all the stamps. I’ve tried their iced teas which they make for you. Takes a bit longer, but the berry one is A+ if you don’t drink coffee. The service is always great and they’re so so friendly (especially the location nearby the library). They have two locations, with the other one being in the cafeteria. Both are great!

Time zone Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1141 Seward St, Los Angeles

This place is literally open at the most random times. I’ve gone numerous times at like 2PM on a weekday and they are just closed. The quality of meat in the sandwiches is about as low as you can get as well. They also charge around 5$ for an ICED Coffee… Now this isn’t totally absurd in LA. But you usually expect great coffee for that price. Here, they dont even have Ice. It’s literally got the word Ice in the name. how do you not have ice for the iced coffee?! As for the taste… it’s fine, but for maybe 3-4$ max. It would be a 3 – 4 star place as just a snack shop for a quick drink or bag of chips if they were open consistently and perhaps got ice.

Suju’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3602 Thornton Ave, Fremont

I think I just found one of my new fav coffee shops. The ambiance is really nice here. They have a lot of open space and tables that you can work at if you want to get some work done. The staff is quiet warm and friendly. I ordered the eye opener, Thai iced tea, and cinnamon crumb cake. The eye opener really lives by its name. It has 2 shots of expresso and coffee. Almost like an americano but instead of adding water they add coffee. Definitely strong but it doesn’t give me the jitters. However I do feel awake. I got my husband the Thai iced tea. I took a sip of his just to taste it, I liked it but can’t tell if it’s strong because I’m drinking my coffee. And as for the cinnamon crumb cake I found it very delicious. It was soft and moist, then the cinnamon crumb that they put on top of it makes the cake that much better. I’m definitely going to come back here and I might become a regular. Also the price is very reasonable, it’s not over priced like most coffee shops.

Ubora Coffee Roasters Menu with Prices 1128 Jones St, Augusta

I’ve been here now 5 times and the only good experience and well made “Cortado” was the frist time and if it would have stayed like that, then this review would be 4 stars because their coffee itself is good but nothing to rave about. I always order a cortado. My frist experience was good, good service, friendly, place was warm and inviting, and I felt like this is going to be a great place. Second time I went they put my drink in a to go cup when I clearly said I will sit right there at the end of the bar and it tasted like water down drink, not fluffy foamy. Third time I went I got this vibe like I was not welcome there. I asked about wifi and i got chuckled at and they pointed to the sign but I was asking why the wifi doesn’t allow you to visit some sites or if they had a fire wall. Plus the cortado was mediocre again. Fourth time I went, I stop in after my run. I had high hope for this visit because it showed life with people and someone playing live music but I was sadly mistaken. This laid way to busy workers who seem like they didn’t want to be there and quality of my drink was just mehhh agian. Fifth and most likely my last time going there was a Saturday morning, me and my partner of cool places planned a stop here after our morning run because it was very convenient to our run plan that day. We thought hey this I will be a great stop for water and a coffee drink. My cortado has never been the same as the first time so I’ve realize that this is their norm now but my partner drank taste like it was burnt and they gave her the ugly looks when she made her order. She ordered 3 shots of Expresso with a splash of almond milk iced, they were like you want what? I say it’s my last time but I really do hope they stay open for a long time to come and get better. If I see them open still 5 months from now I’ll give it another try because I really did try to support local places and will give it another “Expresso shot” later. I say they need to train their staff on more than just the basic, customer service and delivery goes a long way when it comes to places like this. Make it clear that you order here and pick up here, or clear that it will be brought out to you etc. Help key in on drink making and every drink on the menu deserves to be made like it’s a special or something. Academy Coffee Menu with Prices 660 Irwin St NE, Atlanta

After a couple of visits to Academy Coffee, I’ve been super intrigued and can’t stop wanting to try something new. Located inside the Irwin Street Market, Academy Coffee is just a small shop with a few tables of shared seating. Even so, I’ve never had trouble finding a seat after ordering a coffee. Indecisive me just can’t handle choosing one of the menu items on the fly, so my first visit to Academy Coffee, I asked for him to “surprise me.” He asked me for some preferences and then produced an iced espresso beverage for me. The drink he made had ginger beer, a hint of citrus and espresso. It wasn’t my favorite (I drink ginger beer sometimes but it’s not my favorite, either) but it was a unique drink that I’ve never had anything like before. I’ve also had a chance to try the When You Call, I Answer, which is a cappuccino with rose and mint. A tasty and fresh drink but a little subtle on the rose… I didn’t really taste it on the forefront of the drink. Next time, I definitely want to try the Waddah Melown or the Space Cadet, which seem to be very popular!
