So I’ve been to the other location in Carrollton and tried their stuff. Their kolaches had too much bread and less filling. Which I believe is common among kolache places.. Hence, I did try another kolache place in Plano and they were the same.. Location is on Warren and facing North. It’s next to Gazebo burgers and Subway. iheart Kolache is a franchise and knowing that I tried this place with an open mind. Hoping they are not the same owners as the one in Carrollton. Good yelper right? Once I walked into this place I noticed the euro style interior designs but in low key. They had a wide selection of stuffed kolaches and fruit kolaches. I had a hard time deciding on what to get because they all looked so good. The kind lady at the front recommended the Philly cheese steak kolache. Like I said a lot of the kolaches I’ve had was 80 percent bread. The first bite I took was bread and filling not just bread. That instantly made my taste buds happy and my memories of bad kolaches go away. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Not too salty or cheesy and not under cooked. We also got fruit kolaches to try (as pictured) and I had the raspberry one. I am a fruit person so I enjoyed the fruit kolache more than the other one. As you can see the ratio between filling and bread is 60 percent bread and 40 percent filling. If it was 50/50 then it would be too sweet. That’s my opinion so I could be wrong don’t take my word. If you’re thinking about the “kolaches” at the donut stores it’s totally different. These are pretty close to danishes but not so flaky. They serve coffee and have a small variety of cold drinks. I personally am not a coffee drinker so I skipped the coffee. iheart Kolache seems pretty new so I’d give them more time to figure out the drink selections. Anyways my experience here changed my thoughts of kolaches. Since it’s way out in far out Frisco a place where I hardly even drive to. I notched it down to a four.. location is important when I am looking for a breakfast place. I’m surprised the reviews below aren’t filtered by the yelp police…

Donut Palace – Menu with Prices – 3300 Western Center Blvd #104, Fort Worth

Donut and kolache shop right by Ace Hardware. Inexpensive and gets the craving satisfied. We paid $10 for two glazed, two chocolate donuts, one ham and cheese croissant, and one Jalepeno pig kolache. I enjoyed the plain glazed donut the most after I microwaved it for 10 seconds. If they had been just out of the fryer, I bet it would have been even better. The chocolate donut was meh. I wouldn’t recommend it unless your kid is insisting. The jalepeno pig kolache was very good. The jalepeno certainly came through. I’m giving three stars because I wasn’t blown away at the taste of the donuts and kolaches, but I would return since it is so close to where I live and is reasonably priced.

Hruska’s Kolaches – Menu with Prices – 2030 S 900 E, Salt Lake City

I’ve heard about this place for so long and also heard that they run out of pastries quickly. So it’s a high recommendation to go earlier in the day or you won’t get any. Once they run out they are done for the day. I did an advance order cause I was ordering a big order. This place specializes in kolaches. It’s a very delicious pastry filled with either a savory stuffing or a sweet fruit stuffing. The savory ones are stuffed and one will definitely be enough for breakfast. I ordered both the savory and sweet one. The egg kolache is very delicious and the Mexican kolache was also very good. The egg stuff kolache is a very good breakfast or brunch. The Mexican one has eggs and a slight tangy taste to it. There is other veggies in there but I didn’t recognize it. The fruit sweet ones are delicious. It’s not too sweet go it’s still perfect for breakfast. I do prefer the fruit only ones over the one with cream cheese. Highly recommend this place. And I also heard that they have a Saturday once a year that they do all you can kolaches. Worth it!!!!!

Q Donut & Kolaches – Menu with Prices – 7750 Moffett Rd #102, Mobile

This is part of the Lickin’ Good family but they’re open until 2pm. Great donuts, Kolaches, and breakfast sandwiches. Check them out for a sweet treat. The doughnuts are fantastic, light not greasy or too cakey. You can’t go wrong with any of them. The glaze is a favorite. The apple fritter, see the pic, is so very good. It’s moist, Full of apples and fried to a delicious crisp and it’s huge. If I can’t decide, I get the donut holes, light airy with just enough icing and there is a generous amount in the bag. This is my go to doughnut shop. And if I was here for breakfast, I’d add that incredible boudin Kolache. The bread on that Kolache is better than a croissant and with boudin, it a must. Check them out.

Glaze Doughnuts – Menu with Prices – 5815 Franz Rd D, Katy

Boudin kolaches!! Need I say more? The spicy boudin is so deliciously complimented by the slight sweetness of the kolache bread, and they are always generous with the filling. They have the best gourmet doughnut options as well as the classics, and it’s the perfect place if you just want to grab a unique sweet treat for yourself before work. Another bonus? They are right next door to the Pizza Shoppe who just happens to have the best fried mushrooms you’ve ever had in your life! Be prepared to question everything you ever thought you knew about kolaches and doughnuts and if you go next door, get the fried mushrooms. Trust me! The bar these two neighboring restaurants have set is undeniably unreachable by almost all of their competitors.

Westgreen Donuts & Kolaches – Menu with Prices – 1603 N Westgreen Blvd Suite #130, Katy

Am I the only one who thinks about donuts daily but rarely buys them? Well, if you’re like me, you want to maximize your donut buying experience by coming here. OMG, let me count the ways: 1. Great customer service: If your donut of choice is not in the case, just tell them and the staff may just make one fresh for you! 2. The pork and venison sausage kolache is a meal in itself. The sausage is savory, high quality and the bread pastry is soft and tender. 3. The specialty donuts are fresh, fancy and fabulous tasting. I came here especially to get the strawberry shortcake donut that I saw on Yelp and Instagram and after waiting a few minutes, I had a box of 3 to bring home to share. 4. Inside the shop is clean with tables and chairs to enjoy your delights for here or to wait for your to go order. 5. They will automatically microwave any kolache to the perfect temp. 6. The prices are low. Come get ’em while they’re hot and fairly underrated. I am seriously thinking of hosting a weekend breakfast UYE here, but only the strong and dedicated donut lovers would wake up before noon on a weekend. #amiright PS: follow them on IG: wg_donuts_kolaches for some donut craving inspo

Donut Licious – Menu with Prices – 1535 Spring Cypress Rd, Spring

I saw this place rotated around a thread on Facebook… they say donut licious is the place to go for cafe sua da and donuts. Most people are like .. those don’t mix, and lots of people that say they do! I had to try…. Photos look sketch from the outside like a plain ol little donut shop. You transform when you walk in. Cute succulents everywhere, clean and simple design for the interior. A huge menu on chalk board… and your mind fills with indecisiveness. You’re greeted by the owners, a sweet couple that will solve all your problems by directing you to the most popular donuts! I’m looking and so distracted because of all the options. I see it, I found it, it’s the one. I chose pandan flavor.. because wow.. I’ve never seen pandan flavor donuts not in Chinatown. I instantly knew what I want.. give me Boudain kolache!!! Omg crab Rangoon kolache…. wait! Also add on jalapeño popper kolaches!!!! Hit me with that cafe sua da too please! Yussssss! They also take Apple Pay! It’s such a cute place, it’s popular, they have pumpkin spice, and when you come.. you actually want to just sit there and enjoy donuts. They did a great job, and when I get married I’m gonna totally have them do a donut tower for me! Enjoy y’all!!!

Karma Kolache & Dessert – Menu with Prices – 9702 Spring Cypress Rd #120, Spring

New to the Tomball area was looking for a Donut shop on a Saturday afternoon. Most spots were already closed. So glad other places were closed because i never would have found this gem!! The most delicious kolaches and super unique gourmet kolaches filled with chorizo, egg, and cheese, sausage and gravy, brisket….the list goes on. Love the jalapeno boudin kolaches. Then there are these melt in your mouth red velvet little donut holes. Omggg. This is trouble! My daughter had the best red velvet frappe with coffee, definitely not starbucks. BETTER! Not sugar overloaded. Refreshing and tasty! Esthetically appealing to the eye. And the team of people here were so warm and welcoming. Definitely earned a committed customer! Thank you.

Bakers Square & Donuts – Menu with Prices – 10045 N MacArthur Blvd # 117, Irving

The donuts aren’t bad at all. I even enjoyed the cake donut, donut holes and kolaches. What I did not like was the woman’s attitude to a new customer. I asked for a box of 6 donuts. No I do not want to carry a bunch of little bags. I guess they spend so much money having empty baskets on top of the counter that they have to hoard their boxes?! Wth? She initially grabbed a box that was to large and when she got done filling the box with my 6 choices she looked at me and said, “that’s it?” with a scowl. I confirmed yes just 6, she snatched a smaller box, threw the box of donuts on the counter and transferred everything to a smaller box. I was a little taken aback, but it’s early I’m in a good mood because I’m getting donuts so I just keep an eye on her. Also, i’m a Texan, and so is my my dad, once a Baptist preacher in west Texas in the 60s, and he taught me southern manners. I tried my best to kill this woman with kindness. She went to heat up the kolache without asking and I very politely, with a smile, said no thank you to heating. I’m not going to be eating it in the car so I like to heat it when I get home. She threw it on the counter and started punching the buttons on the cash register ferociously. Wow! I do not know what gets someone so worked up over donuts, but I paid her and got out of there as fast as I could. An average tasting and looking donut is just not worth it. Skip this place and her bad attitude.

Super Donut / Kolache Donut – Menu with Prices – 6330 De Zavala Rd, San Antonio

I had a sudden craving for Kolaches and decided to stop by in the morning before work. It gets pretty busy in the morning and there is one nice lady who works there rushing to get everyone’s order. The first thing I ordered were a dozen of the sausage, cheese, jalapeño kolaches. They are on the room temperature side but she asks if you want them to be heated. The bread/dough they use is sooooooo good. It tastes like the Hawaiian sweet rolls you buy at the store but so much better. The bread alone makes it amazing. And the jalapeño,cheese and sausage in the middle with the sweet bread is so delicious! I did try a strawberry donut the next week and the dough is fluffy and nicely sweetened. However, it has a slightly artificial strawberry taste which I’m not too fond of. I’ll definitely come back for the Kolaches and to try some of the other donuts.
