Used to love this place, and would visit once per week for a falafel, baba ganoush, and/or some pita bread to go, etc. The taste and quality are incredible. HOWEVER, due to rudeness exhibited by the male owner, I’m done. There are several other options in the area that appreciate their customers, stay open the hours listed on their front door, and aren’t blatantly rude. I turned the other cheek with the male owner several times, due to the two female staff being so nice, but the other night was the final straw. Leading up to other night, I’ve had entire transactions with the male owner where he didn’t say a word or look up. I’d still say thank you, and no reciprocal reply. I’m a sucker for their good takeout food, so I popped in the other night at 5:30 and stood by the takeout counter for several minutes and was ignored by the male owner standing near the front of the store. I finally approached, and asked if I could order a falafel to go. In the minimum amount of words possible, he uttered: ‘no more takeout’ (see Seinfeld soup Nazi episode). Not sorry, or we’re out of food. When I asked why, he didn’t respond. I added that the store is listed as being open until 7 and I’d like to give him my business, and order my dinner. I added, what’s the point of staying open to 7 if I can’t pick up some food to go? He replied: ‘if you don’t like, then too bad.’ I replied that because of his blatant rudeness, I would reflect my poor experience on Yelp. He gave me a false and condescending smile, and said he didn’t care. Let me be clear that I don’t turn to Yelp for the pleasure of giving bad reviews. I prefer supporting small businesses, and avoid the chain restaurants. I give many great reviews on Yelp. It’s unfortunate that I had to write this bad review, but my recent experience can’t go unsaid. If you can handle unappreciative and blatant rudeness, and unreliable hours, then the food is pretty good–but so is the food at several other similar establishments around town, like Fairouz, Starlight, and Bonapita, which happens to be across the street from Bay Sweets.

Pendleton Carryout Co. Menu with Prices 807 Pendleton St, Alexandria

really sad to be posting this because I loved all of their food offerings when they first opened. However, over the last few months the staff has changed, the hours have changed, and so has the food quality. My boyfriend and I loved coming in in the mornings for the breakfast sandwiches. Last week, the woman at the counter yelled at my boyfriend for walking into the open door at 10:55 am because they weren’t open for another five minutes, and then curtly told him they don’t have breakfast sandwiches in, speaking as if it was his fault that he had asked. today the people at the counter had their headphones in and didnt even fully take them out to take our order. Over the past month, they didn’t have the ingredients several times, and today they gave us a sandwich that not only didn’t have the fluffy scrambled eggs we were used to, but the egg was chopped up and not fully cooked through, the cheese wasn’t melted and they were overall soggy. As for the hours, they now dont open until 11, so for breakfast we’ve been hitting up McDonalds again, because in my book, 11am is a little for a breakfast sandwich and I dont want to be walking around midday to pick up lunch in 90 degree heat. Not going back here until they get their act together and turn back into the restaurant they were when they first opened.

American Deli – Menu with Prices – 2107 Eastern Blvd, Montgomery

Would give zero stars if I could! Last night we ordered via waitr from the Atlanta highway location and got spoiled wings that had my husband throwing up all night. When I called the manager the next morning she called me a lier said they dont sell wrong or bad food and that since we throw it away she will not do anything about it. I explained that I contacted waitr first and they told me to contact her, to which she said “no you didnt because they would have called me” never again would I do business with American deli!

Next Round Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 200 N Broadway, Santa Ana

Honestly, it took me a while to decide to write this review. And after some thought instead of taking it to a legal issue I felt it was necessary to post a yelp redue to the fact that my first experience here with the staff was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. The incident happened on a busy Saturday night during the Art Walk. After I was done using the bathroom, I noticed through the mirror a girl recording me. As she and a male staff (both were wearing glasses) was walking away (and still recording) she blurted out, “turn around b**tch!” At first I wasn’t sure if they were referring to me because I have never seen them my whole life but it was clearly towards me because no one else was around. I calmly approached them as they were both behind a register (she was still recording me!) I asked why she was recording and they both ignored me about 3 times until I finally got their attention.. the male with glasses finally said “we don’t f**ken know you, get out of here” and the girl denied it all. Apparently he’s part owner of the place and it was just really uncomfortable to know that they have a recording of me. But anyways, I’m an open minded person and if there was something that I did that they didn’t want or like, it would be easier to confront me and tell me than record me and call me names. Very very unprofessional. Apparently management is okay with recording people, name calling and making people feel uncomfortable instead of politely approaching a situation professionally.

Tokyo House – Menu with Prices – 1957 N Peace Haven Rd, Winston-Salem

To the cashier girl!! Literally just left here, you have the worst attitude and are super rude, not friendly and clearly not happy. I ordered over $45 in takeout, the girl running the register looked like she hated her life the moment she saw customers walk in. I’ve worked in the restaurant business before, you learn to leave your problems at the door. Trying to be nice I left her a tip when paying. I go to sit and wait on my to go order, she brings the food out, I walk over to grab some white sauce which is beside the drink machine in squeeze bottles. I see there’s no lids so I walk up to ask for some and she says I need to open up my bag and give her back the sauces she already put in there first. I said oh I didn’t realize, I don’t want to waste the sauce I already poured, can I not just get a lid for it? she said no because it cost extra. The bag was tied tight so I had to rip open my bag and hand her the sauce back because I didn’t want to use my card for a tablespoon of sauce. Needless to say I didn’t get a new bag when it was obvious I had destroyed mine and I tipped the rudest teenager in the world. Apparently takeout customers who tip have to pay for sauce and people who dine in dont. Dont put it out to the public if its not free. Quit your job if you hate it so much. You guys need to fire this girl, she obviously doesn’t need the job that bad. The only positive side about this place is guys in the back look like they’re working hard and they make good food.

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – Little Creek Shoppes, 3858 E Little Creek Rd Space 21, Norfolk

Hated it went in with a good mood left without it. I went to order my sandwich and asked for my spinage to be added before it gets toasted [i like the chesse melted on it] to which the lady with the noes ring rolled her eyes i was confused but didnt say anything about it. She walked off and finished another customers sandwhich and when she came and set mine up i mentioned “the spinage will need to be covered cause it will burn” after seeing she placed it on its own side rather then under the cheese she snaps at me saying she knows and they dont ussualy do it this way then picked up all the meat and cheese and flopped them on the spinage side. I have PTSD from a incident in my teen years and at that point her snapping at me made my heart rate increase and i cassualy asked my boyfriend for the car keys to “get my phone” wich was just so i could go outside for a sec to calm my heart rate. Went back in and luckily he was done with her and handed me my cup i went over and was annoyed again seeing no tea of any kind i dont drink soda and reluctantly got viatamin water. Went to sit and eat unhappily i came in excited and happy to eat before going to the garden nearby but left in a less then happy mood i get it was easter and she probbaly didnt want to be there but the way she acts was NOT acceptable and made me not only have a episode but wrened my day.

Water and Ice Mesa – Menu with Prices – 4355 E University Dr # 115, Mesa

I am appalled at the first time (and last) experience I just had at this place. I find there location on google maps and it says they close at 7pm. I pull in at 645 and run up to the door to double check there hours and posted on the door is 8pm and I can see other customers inside. I grab a cart and take it to my truck to load the (6) 5 gallon jugs of water to be filled. I open the door and walk in and get stopped by a young male employee running up and standing in front of my waving his hands saying “No we are closed” I turn to look and there are four other customers off to the side ordering ice cream and I ask what about them. He tells me “that is it. Those are our last customers and we are closed come back tomorrow” After having that experience I load my 6 jugs back in the truck and leave. That was an absolute JOKE / unprofessional experience I have ever had at a business. Google says they close at 7pm, the front door says 8pm and either way its 645 but then to have an employee run up to you and stop you from coming in is ridiculous. If you have an employee running up to you it should be to give you a hand not to stop you from bring in business. That was so wrong of these people all because they were in a hurry to get out of work on a saturday evening. I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND EVEN DRIVE MILES OUT OF THE WAY TO TAKE MY BUSINESS TO SOMEONE THAT WOULD APPRECIATE IT!!!

Sugar Cubed – Menu with Prices – 531 13th St W, Bradenton

Not really impressed. Wanted a treat at work so was surprised they had a delivery option. Chose it and placed order. Ordering was very confusing. They need to improve if going to continue. I wanted an assortment of cookies and they had a box option and discounted if bought by dozen. It would not however let me choose the cookies so i opted for an assortment. I only got 3 different flavors even though the menu showed more. It also doesnt state that certain cookies are not discounted. Example the macarons. Had i known they dont consider these a cookie and therefore dont qualify for the cookie box that discounts the price. And website stated that discounts were available if a dozen ordered. I found this out through an email stating they were charging my card an extra amount. Had website been more specific i would have changed my order. Also tjought cookies were very greasy and extremely heavy tasting and a bit dry. The grease soaked through the box. Didnt really expect that. Overall not much flavor and didnt expect the white chocolate macadamia nut ones to have coconut. It should be part of description. Overall experience was disappointing and wont be back. If you continue to offer online order please take a closer look at it it needs a lot of improvements

Al Bacha Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 819 E Denny Way, Seattle

Really solid, affordable option for Mediterranean food on Capitol Hill. As an added bonus for night owls, they’re open until the wee hours of the morning, which feels downright criminal in Seattle (don’t get me wrong; I’m really glad rare places like this exist for when I’m hungry at 11 PM). This isn’t the fanciest restaurant on the block, so the decor and ambience are both pretty bare bones. The menu contains your standard Mediterranean staples, consisting mostly of variations of falafel and shawarma in wrap or plate form, as well as gyros. I usually order takeout via Grubhub since I live within spitting distance, and I’ve found it to be a very painless experience. The food is always warm and fresh when I get it, which is great. Portions are generous, with healthy amounts of protein and salad in them. I overall find the food here very satisfying and perfect for quick, well-priced, reasonably healthy, filling meals. It isn’t the best Mediterranean food in the city (go to Petra for that), but it’s A-OK for the niche it fills.

MARU Korean Restaurant and Bar – Menu with Prices – 412 E Main St, Charlottesville

Bottom line: Don’t go here if you are Korean looking for an authentic Korean dining experience. Food is ok and the service was terrible. I’ll start by saying that, as a Korean American, I generally avoid going to Korean Fusion or any modern takes on Korean food. But my sister and I decided to eat there because it’s really close to her apartment and she’s been there many times. So to set the stage – It’s Friday night, I had just arrived to Charlottesville from out of town, and we were looking for a bite to eat before places started closing down. To be clear, it was pretty late for dinner, but we were willing to go wherever was open and would serve us. We walk into Maru at 9:40 pm, and I was just a bit hesitant because online it said they were closing at 10. So I would have 100% understood if they told us that the kitchen was already closed. When we walked in, it looked very much open. They had a full dining room, nearly all the tables were full with plenty of food on them, one table had just been served their entrees, and the man in front of us was picking up his takeout – so clearly it had only been a few minutes since their kitchen sent out hot food. Also – it’s Friday night. The wait staff looked pretty busy when we came in, so it took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us at the host stand. But someone did eventually greet us and they *did* seat us. After taking us to the table, our white man server turns to the kitchen (it’s an open kitchen concept, which I can appreciate) and loudly and pointedly says “Just ONE more table, OK?” Our white man server gives us 1 minute to review the menu, and when he comes back to take our order, informs us that the kitchen will be closing soon. That’s fine – we were ready to order when we walked in. As we are giving our order, our white man server keeps checking his watch. I’m sorry, but are we inconveniencing YOU as you are taking our order? Is there somewhere better you need to be? I didn’t have a chance to review the drink menu before he took our order, so I asked him if he could come back in a minute so he could go ahead and put in our food. But then it took way too long for our table to get any attention again after he took our food order. I don’t know if this place pools tips or not, but none of the other wait staff came to check in on us either. I just wanted a glass of wine – really simple, the bar doesn’t need to make a cocktail, anyone can pour a liquid into a glass. Lastly, after our food was served, our white man server decided that that would be a good time to school us on how to eat the food. How funny that he doesn’t seem to have the time to listen while we give our order or check in on us about drinks, but he *does* have time to give us a tutorial about how to eat dumplings. Thanks. Here’s the thing – if you’re closing and you can’t serve us, DON’T SERVE US. If you seated us, freaking serve us like any other customer. I have no desire to go to a restaurant serving food from my culture just to be treated like a second-class citizen by a man who very recently learned how to pronounce the food. At the end of our meal, my sister picked up the tab. I’m sure when they ran her card, they realized that we are Korean people and that they had messed up (my sister has a very identifiably Korean looking name – two syllable given name, and we have a very Korean last name). The manager/owner came to talk to us and excuse our white man server’s behavior, saying he might have ADHD and he just gets “really excited about Korean food.” Umm. Ok. So I have plenty of empathy for people who may face challenges due to whatever, but I don’t think claiming a mental disorder excuses rudeness. Also, I couldn’t help but wonder – if we were 2 white women or 2 white men, would he have treated us the same way? And why is this only being addressed after they saw our Korean name on the credit

Rheas Hot Links – Menu with Prices – 201-229 South Oakland Avenue, 204 S Fannin Ave, Tyler

Well today, I went to hot link place for my husband to take to his job. Normally the ladies are great always. But, we have noticed the last 3 visits havnt been that plesant from just (1) employee. But, we will still speak but her attitude us nonchalant. Anyway, today she came to window, didnt speak, and I ordered. Then came back gave me price and I gave her my card. Told her the chip doesn’t work as I handed to her. She looked at me, and still took it. About 5mins later, she comes back and says, my card dont work. Well, 1st of all, it works fine but the reason I told her in advance is for her to do it as credit or without chip usage. Anyway, i told her, I will give her cash. She handed her hand out for my cash, but still had my debit card. I told her to give my card 1st, then I gave her a $50 bill. She took a min and came back with $26 change. I looked at her funny and asked where my receipt she said since I didnt pay with card, I cant get a receipt. I asked how much was it again, she looked at me with a attitude and said, its right. $13 from $50 is $26 and I told her its incorrect and then she shut window on me and started talking to other worker. I bought 14 links, which she gave him the smallest links in there and a strawberry fanta, no ice. Maybe she gaving a bad day. But, lately she has acted this way. Idk way, i haven’t done anything to her and idk her either well. I drove around to front door, went in with food and money. Told the smaller dark lady, who is always sweet and she asked what i bought, told her and still that lady tried to say, 50-13=26, and thats what i gave you. Well, im not dumb, but I know how to count. So instead of arguing, i pulled out my phn to calculator, then she hurried up and said, or yea..I owe you $10. Laid it on counter and walked away. I told my hubby when i took him the food and he tut old me to report it. He said, he was proud of me, cause normally i goes off about my money. But, I have grown alot and tries to be better. She still had a attutude, vut you tried to CHEAT ME, but mad at me. I dont get that. How many people does, she do like this daily that she THINKS, DONT COUNT THEIR MONEY. My husband is bad about not counting his, but I DONT PLAY LIKE THAT. He eats at Rheas at least weekly, and before he had his seizures last yr. He ate 3 times a week faithfully on lunch break of after work. Smh at her.

El Somborsito – Menu with Prices – 8700 S Lewis Ave, Tulsa

I came around 2pm and there wasn’t anyone there so I figured it would be a good time to get some tacos! Fiancé and I drive pass this place several time and never get any tacos. I’m usually very skeptical of food from food trucks. Since he is out of town I wanted to try it out! So glad I stopped by today, I ordered two number 5 which is 6 tacos total. They are 1.25 per taco packed with a ton of meat! I mean I couldn’t even fold it together without meat falling out! Which isn’t a bad thing! I couldn’t smell any food but once they started to grill the meat man it’s like burst of scents to my nose! I only ate three out of the six I got! Will eat the rest before the day is over! The only think I would complain about is the seasoning of the meat. Wished it had more flavor to it but I’m just use to lots of pow to my food! The ladies who work inside are friendly! Make sure you bring extra bills to tip them! I will definitely come back for more! The hours on Yelp is wrong so make sure you see my tip with the hours listed!!! Open till 10pm on some nights? Say what? Late night eats!

Sal’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 6773 Carnelian St, Rancho Cucamonga

Best pizza around the Rancho Cucamonga area I have found! Tried it for the first time, I ordered the XL 2 topping pizza for $23! Slices were huge, they were very generous with the toppings and it tasted delicious!! I normally just eat 1 or 2 “small” slices, like pizza hut sizes, but this pizza was so good I ate 4! And the slices were big I couldve been full with 1! I didnt get to take a photo, I was too hungry! They dont accept debit/credit so be warned of that and its not a sot down restaurant, they’re just a store front. But this is perfect to call ahead and pick up for an amazing dinner! Dont waste time with fast food pizza when you can have the real thing! I will be coming back!
