Totally found this spot on a whim and so happy to have discovered it! Place was a delight, staff were friendly…there was even a lady bussing tables with a baby strapped to her front! Definitely made my morning. This place was PACKED and I was lucky to steal the last parking spot. The restaurant decor was super cute and reminded me of a fancy log cabin-? A chateau-?!!? It was cute! We were seated right away by a guy who was super upbeat, I wish I got his name, he was hysterical. Our server was really sweet too and she was very prompt on getting our orders and getting our food asap. In fact I heard the staff talking about how they were running so far behind but I didn’t feel like we waited that long, it was an average amount of time to wait for food. I ordered the Northwestern eggs benny that came with a side of buttermilk pancakes and my friend got the biscuits and gravy and grapefruit juice. It was one of the first few times we actually saw a restaurant carry grapefruit juice so she was pumped. I loved what I got, I’m very finicky about hollandaise sauce and I thought they got it just right, I don’t even like dill and I enjoyed it in my dish. The biscuits and gravy were good too, there was a slight twist to the gravy (it tasted a hint of sweetness but that could also be because I was eating pancakes). I’d say give this spot a try if you’re in the area…or just wanna do a mini road trip to get some food like we did lol.

Shorty’s Cookin Country – Menu with Prices – 603 S Belt Line Rd, Irving

There were some good and then some just average things about this spot. The location is not great and the sign on the front is not appealing. However when you get inside it is just a nice little restaurant. For the food, it was good and it is worth a stop. The best thing by far is the cinnamon pecan pancakes. Absolutely excellent. I had an omelette. The biscuits and gravy that came with them were bad. The biscuits were hard and not good. The gravy was weak and had no sausage in it. However overall everybody enjoyed their breakfast. The pancakes and eggs were all cooked good. Worth the stop if a decent breakfast is wanted

Omlette Inn Cafe – Menu with Prices – 15070 Edwards St, Huntington Beach

In my quest to find quality B&G around the OC, I visited Omellete Inn. At first I was the only customer. A single employee ran the front of the house. Since Biscuits and Gravy is not a toast option, I decided not to order an omelette. Instead, I ordered a plate of Biscuits and Gravy. It took a little while but I saw that as a good sign since given the lack of customers, they would have to make it rather than heat it up. What arrived were four halves of real buttermilk biscuits, toasted on a flattop, turned cut side up, and covered with gravy. The biscuits were the drop kind. They aren’t flaky, but cakey. That is fine. The gravy is real gravy, not a mix and tasted good. It could have used a little salt and a lot of pepper. I fixed that and finished the plate. B&G is a dying art and the Omellete Inn is keeping it alive with the real deal. I would like to see an upgrade on the breakfast plates that instead of toast you can get a half or even quarter order of B&G instead of toast. Also, they need a breakfast plate that features gravy besides CFS. The most common is 2 eggs and sausage patties atop a split biscuit covered in gravy, with potatoes on the side. Like a country eggs Benedict.

Broken Egg Family Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 10843 W Park Pl, Milwaukee

13 August visit – First time here and totally impressed! Very clean restaurant (just opened I know, but still very clean), and the service was quick in taking my to go order. As I have written in my previous postings I do not usually give a five star rating after the first visit, however I am also on quest to find the best biscuits and gravy in the area, as well as the price point. Both hit the mark here on quality and cost. To accompany the biscuits and gravy, I ordered 2 eggs scrambled with cheese for about a dollar more and worth it as the eggs were done nicely. Now for the biscuits and gravy–Awesome!! It is your basic white sauce gravy but made from scratch, not to mention fluffy and not flat. There is a serious difference between a really good canned gravy and in house made gravy, you can taste it in this gravy. This was not a butter based roux gravy, but a sausage roux gravy which was a really good and a nice surprise, although I had to doctor it up with cracked black pepper to my liking. Additionally the biscuits were fresh and soft, I believe also in house made which again was a good find. Will we definitely be here for breakfast this weekend, you should check out this place. Update – 17 August visit As promised I returned for breakfast this weekend, and accompanied by my wife. Again the seating and attentiveness of the staff was awesome, and the price for two big breakfasts that turned into another meal this morning (18 Aug) came to $18 with tax, not shabby! My wife ordered the house skillet with over easy eggs on side and in house made bread for toast. I was jealous, it looked and tasted so good, next time that is my order. Again I ordered the biscuits and gravy with scrambled egg and cheddar cheese, as they were pretty good on Tuesday. This time however, the flour did not render all the way it was a little flour tasting. This was the case as I took home half the biscuits and gravy as I reheated the gravy this morning and you could still taste the flour initially. No matter, rewarmed the gravy up slowly (on low) and added half and half (which is cream and whole milk), a little beef bullion and a certain liquid gravy seasoning, and this eventually cooked out the flour taste. If do this yourself, separate the biscuits from the gravy while still warm at the restaurant, the biscuits will not soggy the next day. We will back as the prices are reasonable and the quality of the food and service are great. In the future I will re-order the biscuits and gravy, but after this visit I think I will try the skillets and the such. Again, this place is really good and you have to check it out!!

Dierk’s Midtown Café – Menu with Prices – 1422 4th St, Santa Rosa

Dierk’s is incredible! Today was my 3rd visit there, and let me tell you…delicious!!! My first visit I had the biscuits & gravy. Very tasty! However, if you’re looking for that traditional super fluffy biscuit…this isn’t it. Which I didn’t mind it all because it was more enjoyable this way. Not such a heavy & dense meal, like typical biscuits & gravy. My second visit I had Gompa’s pancake breakfast w/ a side of bacon & hash browns. Don’t judge me…I was hungry. The pancakes were fluffy, eggs cooked to perfection, hash browns well done (just as I had asked.) Delightful!! I left there very full and happy. My third visit, which was today had me exploring the salads. Let me tell you, they did not let me down. The poached egg salad is the most delectable, mouthwatering, flavorful food I have had in quite some time! INCREDIBLE! Just order it and thank me later. You like salad? Check. Eggs? Check. Croutons? Check. Bacon? Check, check, check! Trust me on this one, Dierk’s will become your new favorite hotspot! P.S. Did I mention the pull apart bread?! Also the service is always wonderful!

Sandy’s Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 6940 Space Village Ave, Colorado Springs

Excellent customer service! Made to feel at home no matter who you are. Been there twice now and everyone I have talked to were nice and made sure I was comfortable while I was waiting for my order. Restaurant was busy and staff energetic, keeping the place clean and in order. Some of the breakfast items on the menu are absolutely HUGE!(They have smaller portion options) For example, my first visit my 6 egg(Yes! Six eggs!!!) Denver omelette was full of ingredients and tasty… worth every penny! The second time, I tried the Country Fried Steak which wasnt gigantic(but you get 3 eggs with it), was great and didnt taste like it came out of a freezer package and was worth the try, as well. You get country potatoes and toast with breakfast or you can forgo that to opt for 2 pancakes or 2 french toast or 2 biscuits and gravy for an upcharge. I opted for the biscuits and gravy… They were only ok the first time, due to a strange sweet taste, but were super the 2nd time and I was happy I gave them a second chance. Even with that small inconsistency, both visits were 5 stars! I’m ecstatic that I found this place on Yelp. It’s going to be my stop to grab breakfast from now on. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed. Just know… they do not have all day hours… more like, brunch hours. ***Edit: Saw reviews stating that it’s cash only… They take credit cards now.

Delvin’s Restaurant and Catering Menu with Prices 701 S Taylor St, Amarillo

Honestly I don’t know where to begin…. This location was a train wreak this morning in my opinion. Obvious employee issues. Putting that aside, the food just wasn’t that great. Biscuits and gravy were more like biscuits with a thin layer of gravy. I found myself eating only the parts with gravy on it and leaving the rest for the dumpster. Extremely bland. The food service sausage was the highlight of my meal. It also came with previously frozen chunks of potatoes with lightly sautéed hunks of onion and bell peppers. One bite and the rest went with the left over biscuits. Not saying I won’t be back, I just won’t be in a hurry to go back. If I ever do find myself there again, I’ll be trying something else. The omelet looked good, but I was sad to see that it was made with pre-cracked eggs from a carton and not fresh.

Staff was being very polite and welcoming at the entrance. They managed the large crowd very efficiently. The wait time was very short. It was fascinating to see almost everything in the restaurant was made locally. We indulged some fresh squeezed orange juice while going through our options on the menu. There were so many healthy and fresh options as well as some all time favorites like biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash and pancakes. I settled with corned beef hash, which was probably the best I have had for a while. Our server was very courteous; made sure we were content with the service all throughout our dining experience. I will definitely coming back here!

Cleavers Chicago Style Flavor – Menu with Prices – 5501 E Indiana St, Evansville

Stopped in for breakfast today. Been awhile since Iâ??ve been here. Got there right at opening. I had a short stack of pancakes with a side of sausage links. Got two huge (dinner plate size) pancakes and three links of sausage. It was delicious. I couldnâ??t eat it all, but took the rest home. My wife had a half order of biscuits & gravy. She loved it and ate every bit of it. Nothing but a clean plate when she was done. Service was very friendly and quick and kept my coffee cup full. I was in and out in a little over 1/2 hour. Price was very reasonable. I need to make sure it doesnâ??t take me so long to come back. I highly recommend for breakfast.

Nancy’s Home Cooking – Menu with Prices – 3133 N High St, Columbus

“Holy cow, that’s a lot of food.” These are the words that came out of my mouth after discovering just how generous the portions are at Nancy’s Home Cooking. My girlfriend and I stopped by for the first time early afternoon on a Saturday, and everything on the menu looked appealing. We figured we’d split a few things, so ordered a full portion of biscuits and gravy, a couple of pancakes with ham, and an order of their chicken noodle dish with some green beans. Imagine our surprise when we were delivered enough food to feed a family…literally. The pancakes were close to a foot in diameter, and thick. The biscuits and gravy covered another oblong plate that was about a foot wide. The chicken noodle and mashed potatoes? Another giant plate, and piled high. None of this would be worth drawing so much attention to if the food wasn’t fantastic, but fortunately it was. There’s a slight hint of sweetness to the pancake batter, the biscuits and gravy, as well as the chicken noodle dish were deeply comforting, and the green beans were prepared rather like collard greens, with lots of tasty bits of bacon, and cooked in fat with a ham bone. Needless to say, we had to get two to-go boxes and managed to have the leftovers for dinner…all for $20. Some delicious country cooking with a low price point, and the owner chatted to us quite a bit during our meal as well. No complaints, other than perhaps the small size of the restaurant, but since the restaurant’s motto is “Eat it and beat it!” the expectation is that you won’t be there for long anyhow. Unless, you know, you’re newbs who order twice as much as you could possibly eat in one sitting…

Warehouse Restaurant Menu with Prices 12328 S Choctaw Dr, Baton Rouge

We just had a truly delicious breakfast here at the Warehouse. This place is in located in a blue collar work area it’s surrounded by warehouses and other business’s so it’s not a fancy place at all but the food and service were great. The eggs were perfectly cooked, biscuits were scratch made deliciousness , the cream gravy tasted like my grandma’s heirloom recipe. The pancakes were also yummy, bacon was ok I think they most likely bake it I’d prefer the old fashioned fried up way but it was still ok I’ll try the ham or sausage next time or maybe a pork chop. Cook’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1300 N 66th St, Lincoln

Good breakfast at a good price with exceptional service. It’s simple, clean, and no frills. As I normally do when I’m visiting another city, I went all out. My order consisted of a half order of biscuits & gravy, sausage links, hash browns, bacon/egg/cheese omelette, and 2x blueberry pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were good (and oddly enough had enough pepper…most places never use enough pepper). The sausage links worked well with syrup. The hash browns reminded me very much of waffle house hash browns, which are also good. The omelette was fine, but didn’t really stand out. The best part of the mean was definitely the blueberry pancakes. Those monsters were terrific. Even though I gorged, my bill was still under $25. And my coffee cup never got below half full despite my beat efforts and probably drinking a pot and a half’s worth. Not sure if this joint is worth going way out of the way for, but if it’s close by and you’re wanting a nice down home breakfast; this is a great option.

Loose moose family kitchen is like a home town buffet. You are greeted and seated. The wait staff take your drink orders and then you serve yourself. It’s all you can eat. It has a variety of breakfast foods to fill up on. From omelet and eggs made to order. Or they have already made eggs, eggs Benedict, homemade Salsa, potatoes, bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, fresh and canned fruit, cottage cheese, cereal, yogurts, yogurt parfaits, and much more…. Great wolf lodge offers this for an extra cost that you can add to your stay or you can just go down and pay there too. Now it is pricey but it’s all you can eat plus you need to remember the characters come to breakfast and give you plenty of pic opportunities. Overall it was a good deal if you make sure your family eats good. The staff were very friendly especially the ladies working the made to order station. They were working fast and so friendly even though some people were being rude AF and just giving them attitude. They still had smiles and made our omelets and eggs perfect! I would definitely get this again on our next stay! Now they do other meals but this review is only on their breakfast.
