I am only commenting on the place. I did not buy anything but did ask some questions. 1. They only sell oysters and blue crabs – did not see the quality as they were not in the case. 2. The case was EMPTY. I don’t even think it was turned on. 3.There were people in there order crab plates of some sort. 4. I told the guy I had stopped there before and they were closed,”what are your hours?” I asked. “it’s better if you call – we just close sometimes.” 5. The place was dirty and smelly of a BAD odor. 6. They were preparing food – I did NOT see a food permit for them to sell cooked food. 7.They do say they take EBT cards … 8. They said they had another place in Palatka. I like buying crabs and cooking them at home – they wanted $3.00 pound – Eastern Market sells them for $2.29 pound and they ARE live.

Carlos Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 3852 Richmond Ave, Staten Island

The fish market smells clean and looks clean which it’s a plus. I called the fish market two hours before arrival, to place a order for 2 dozen of blue crabs cleaned. Then about 15 mins later, I called again and changed my order to 3 dozens of blue crabs cleaned. I showed up, the person I saw he said did you say you want 3 crabs or 3 dozens? I said 3 dozens. He said ok I only have 3 crabs and he went in the back to get 3 dozens. I was thankful he had more in the back. He gave me few extra crabs due to some crabs were missing claws. Which it was very nice of him. After I paid, he hands me back $6 and I didn’t see it then. As I went to do more shopping and I counted the money. I noticed the $6 he hands me. The dollar bill is ripped and missing pieces. I never went back to ask for new dollar but next time if I go back, I will make sure there’s no ripped money. Which I do not understand why would he made that move. The blue crabs were so fresh when we cooked it in the oven, loved it!

Crab Palace – Menu with Prices – 215 Miller St, Newark

This place is a joke, they rarely sell you what you pay for, if you pay for a dozen large Male crabs you will get 3 large on top and lots of baby crabs on the bottom and most times very hollow and most of the claws are missing due to the bag of claws they sell for 6$…I usually get live cause you never know what your getting when THEY steam them… I’ve been going there for years but as of late I’ve been ordering my crabs from Maryland for twice the price but worth the money… the staff sit out front and smoke their weed all day I won’t say all day but everything I’ve been there and I’m the frequent, facetime their friends while working, I just called there and the owner told me to shut up and bring them back If I’m not happy with my order…My people stop going to a place that don’t care about you just to post a bushell of crabs that’s mushy…disgusting!!! Some of us only care about the post and not the actually product… wake up… stop going there until they do better!!! Unite!!!

Chez Francois Seafood – Menu with Prices – 139 Tissington St, Lafayette

10/30/16 dishonest crooks told me i was paying $35 a dozen for 3 dozen select boiled crabs!!! imagine $35 a dozen !!!! i thought surely at that price i would get nice crabs, therefore i placed my huge order over the phone. however, every crab was maybe a medium……. if you wana lie about it !!! but…. to lie and say they were select??? illegal i would say!!! all 36 crabs were smalls and they know it !!! does 3″x3″ crabs shell mean jumbo to you ??? i got home for our party to open the bags to find baby crabs!!! so mad!!! claws were removed also !!! can one believe they stole the claws too ??? few of the crabs had two claws but 3 of 4 crabs had only one claw or none!!! ripoffs!!! dont believe them!!! stinky foul smell walking in also. i will be calling the better business bureau next!!!

King’s Seafood Market & Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 714 E Little Creek Rd, Norfolk

This is my go to spot when I want steamed crabs. I’ve also had the fried shrimp here which are very very good. I love their prices and they are very affordable. Quality of crabs out when every crab spot in the area. I am specifically talking about blue crabs. You can get a dozen of females easy for under $15. I do love their jimmys and enjoy them very much but they rarely have them. This is not a eat and seafood place. Here’s a tip call ahead for going to get your crabs. They can get full pretty fast with my walk in customers. I prefer Wickers for eat in crabs, but Kings Seafood is by far the best for takeout. Crabs are always very clean. Another tip, when you ask for heavy seasoning, they really don’t put it on like you want. I just buy the container of seasoning from them for about $3.

Chen’s Garden Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1800 Liberty St # 102, Chesapeake

My wife loves fried crabs and we have tried them at many places but Chen’s Garden is absolutely the best place we have discovered for fried crabs. They are very consistent and put out delicious fried crabs with a nice thick breading every time. Besides being delicious the crabs are also very reasonably priced, much cheaper than nearby Eddie’s Chesapeake Bay Crab House. Chen’s is your typical Chinese takeout restaurant located in a small shopping center. They have a few tables if you want to dine inside but for the most part they are a takeout restaurant with all the typical Chinese menu items and a few American food items as well (chicken wings, french fries, onion rings, fried fish, chicken livers, etc…) They also have fresh fish made to order. What separates Chen’s from other Chinese takeout restaurants is their awesome fried crabs. Be sure to bring cash because they don’t take checks or credit cards.

Italia Importing Co – Menu with Prices – 779 Grand Ave, New Haven

I’ve been coming to Vinnies for a few years now and just never bothered to write a review. It’s a great place for meat. It’s far from fancy inside but don’t let that bother you. The chicken cutlets are hand sliced to order (5lbs $17.00). They are nice and thin like a cutlet should be. You can cut them with a fork easily once cooked, same goes for veal cutlets. Porketta can be preordered and they will season and vacuum pack it for you. The sandwich steaks are like nothing you’ve ever seen in any grocery store. At $4.50 a pound you can go home and make yourself the best steak and cheese sandwich you’ve ever had. They are paper thin slices of beef that you will only find here and a Rosa’s deli in Wallingford (Vinnie sells them to Rosa) I ordered a whole filet mignon 8lbs @12.99 a lb for Christmas and though I could have gotten it cheaper at a grocery store I knew the quality would be better at Vinnies. It was like butter, my 11 guests all said it was the best filet they ever had! (and they eat it often) Don’t let the “no frills” look scare you, the meat is the best and they sell to half the restaurants you eat at in New Haven, they do a big wholesale business. It is so much better than the meat market just across the street, trust me!

valley kabob – Menu with Prices – 23975 Newhall Ranch Rd, Santa Clarita

Went to Valley Marketplace to get a couple specialty items my wife needed for a middle eastern recipe she was making. Having never been in the market before, I asked someone who appeared to be a supervisor where I could find a particular item, he told me “ask that guy”, pointing to another employee, who wandered through the aisles looking for my item. I could have done that. After I found my items, I looked around a bit. Most shelves weren’t completely stocked, some were just completely empty. The other thing I noticed was the meat department. There were large slabs of meat, still in their packing plastic in the meat case next to cut, raw meat, I don’t think County Health would approve, very unsanitary. It looked unorganized and not fresh. The only department that looked good was the produce. Most items looked fresh. As a side note, the market was dimly lit, dirty and not very inviting. Plus it had liquor everywhere, not just in a liquor department, but throughout the store. Very odd. Not impressed, don’t think I will be coming back

J&G seafood market Menu with Prices 8580 Greenwell Springs Rd, Baton Rouge

These are the most customer friendly business owners I have ever known. I always support even if it’s just buying boiled shrimp but my Favorite of course is boiled Crawfish!!! They are the best this side of B.R well it doesn’t matter where I am in B.R I’m driving to G&J because I can count on them for consistency in flavor. These snow crabs are Huge and nope they are not King Crabs they are just nice sized and meat filled snow crabs. All the seafood has good flavor, if it’s not closing time and they are running low on something and there is enough time they ask if you are ok with waiting and they will prepare more for you. If you want to boil the seafood yourself this is your place for Live seafood and all the supplies needed to get a good boil going even the onions, corn and potatoes can be purchased. If you are looking for the La seafood products for your Gumbo this is your spot!! I always visit when I’m in Baton Rouge and as long as they are in business I will support because their food is the best and they are the nicest ever!!

P & R Bakery N. Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1300 N 3rd St, Harrisburg

This is a family owned business and you can taste the love and pride they have in their food! Nora and Ed have been baking for a long while and I’ve had a chance to enjoy their delicious desserts while they were in the Broad Street Market. Now that they opened their own place just a few steps away from the Market, you get to enjoy their goodies for more than just 3 days. I ordered their 7Up Cake because my brother wanted to try and it was something I had previously. I called in at 1 to see if they had a whole cake available and they said that they would bake me one and it will be ready at 3. My family enjoyed a fresh cake that was flavorful and moist and made by this very kind family. They do offer many other specialties but I would recommend calling them a head of time to see if they have what you want available. I do suggest their cream cheese pound cake, 7Up or their Blueberry pound cake. All are flavorful and tasty! The price is very reasonable! I suggest instead of stopping in a grocery, go visit the local bakery to see what they are whipping up! They are also well known for their pumpkin and sweet potato pie. I haven’t had a chance to try it but if local restaurants are buying it from them to put it on their menu, you can’t go wrong!!

Fresno Seafood Company – Menu with Prices – 2327 N Fresno St #106, Fresno

The name of this business is deceiving. When you hear “Fresno Seafood Company” one might think you can go here to buy fresh seafood and they are the #1 resource in the central valley to do so. Unfortunately that is not the case. Yes they sell fresh seafood, but it is not a huge selection that you might think when you hear “Fresno Seafood Company” You will find a a much better selection over at Island Pacific Supermarket or SF (Shun Fat) Market. I did not compare prices though so who knows, maybe the sell it cheaper here than the aforementioned. Don’t get me wrong though I’m not saying the selection is bad, I was just expecting an expansive selection of fresh seafood that beats supermarkets. That is not the case. But what they do have is fresh. I would say call before hand on what they are selling. Another dimension of this place and where they shine is the cooked food. Good ol’ fried food. Fish and chips are a great deal here. Freshly battered and fried and super tender fish. Very generous portions for a good value. They have tons of other freshly cooked food items. Not just seafood but also meats. They also have some other packaged stuff for sale. So the identity of this place needs work, but what they are doing right now works. The workers are nice and friendly and easy to talk to and ready to help. But most importantly the food is legit, and sometimes that is all that matters.

Salam’s Market & Deli – Menu with Prices – 616 S Forest Ave, Tempe

I went here to buy a couple things and ended up getting some baklava as well. The sign said $8.99 per pound or $1.99 per piece. The man who runs the place told me there is about 6 pieces per pound so I decided to go with that. He said that it’s cheaper going with the pound rather than buying piece by piece. After picking out my 6 pieces I did some more shopping. When I came back to pay he told me the baklava costs $13 and some change. I asked him how it came out to that price and he said it ended up being a pound & a half. I never saw him weigh it. The price he charged me was even more than the individual price. He’s not the nicest guy to deal with and he’s the only person I’ve ever seen running the store. The baklava isn’t that great to want to come back for it. There are many shops in the same area to go to that won’t rip you off. I won’t be back.
