Absolutely thrilled with Kelly’s work. I recently ordered a cake topper from Kelly, prior to ordering I was emailing her back-and-forth about design options and potential date pick ups to ensure that she was the right one for the job. After speaking with Kelly and sending her designs of the Nike Air Jordan Shoe I wanted the toppers to replicate I was sure that she was the right person to take on this task. I was not wrong! I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Kelly, as I arranged for a friend to pick up the order for me when it was ready. But wow! I was completely blown away when I opened that box and saw the shoe cake toppers. It was exactly what I had wanted and my boyfriend was so impressed with the design once I finally surprised him with his birthday cake! We still haven’t even eaten them and refuse to throw them away. Kelly’s attention to detailing was spot on and was very reasonably priced as well. Her talent is unmatched and I am glad to have found someone for all of my future baking needs. I personally found Kelly through a google search. Helpful reviews grabbed my attention and gave me the reassurance to trust Kelly. I hope this review helps you as well if you are considering using her for your baking needs!

The Mixing Bowl Bakery – Menu with Prices – 305 N Riverside Dr #4, Clarksville

I purchased a cake for my baby’s adoption party. I did my research and found the perfect cake for our theme of the party. I brought in the picture of the cake I wanted with me to the initial consultation. Caroline assured me that she/the shop would be able to adhere to the design of the cake. The day of the adoption I was too busy to pick up the finished cake so my friend picked it up for me. As soon as I saw the cake I was upset. It was nothing we discussed. The colors were not the same, the design, and the butterflies had a horrible quality to them. I immediately called The Mixing Bowl and Caroline answered. As soon as I identified myself she hung up on me! I served the cake at the party and it tasted mediocre, like a cake I got at Walmart could’ve tasted better. So in the end it was horrible customer service, terrible cake decorating, and disappointing taste. You’d be better off going anywhere else for any kind of cake, let alone a cake for any memorable event. Rhonda Kelly

La Rosa Bakery – Menu with Prices – 1742 University Ave, Green Bay

My cousins came here to buy the cake for my niece’s First Birthday party. First of all the cake was overpriced than other bakeries. When we went to pick it up they took like 20 min to take the cake out. The design of the cake was way off and had not even finished it. They were missing a letter on the cake of her name and didn’t even let us know. When we brought that up she said that it was missing a letter because there was not enough room on the cake. They got the color and design of the cake wrong from what they originally wanted. They tried to fix it but just made it a mess on the cake. And when we asked if they could do something about it like get part of the money back or some type of store credit. She said no. And when we would let her know about what was missing or wrong with the cake she would look annoyed by that. So heads up. Worse experience and the sad part is that we got a messed up cake a little girls 1st Birthday party.

Bee’s Knees Bakery and Gifts Menu with Prices 1850 Epps Bridge Pkwy, Athens

After a brief Yelp hiatus I had to log in and review this gem of a bakery! My husband and I were searching for the perfect cake for our daughter’s first birthday after agonizing for a week over what cake design we should choose we finally decided on a design only to realize I still had to find someone to make that design come to life. I had seen this bakery several times and always wanted to try it but never got around to stopping in. So this is the first place that came to mind when we were looking. We stopped in and the first thing I noticed was the cupcake case filled with a number of different flavors. We walked right up to the counter to order there was no wait and ordered our daughters birthday cake. The whole experience was easier than I thought it was going to be. I felt like they were very friendly and helpful even letting us know where we could find the cake topper in the cake photo we brought in. While we were there we decided to get a couple of cupcakes to try I got the hummingbird cake one. I waited until we got back home to try it though but when I did I was in love. Like real love with a cupcake! Me of all people! The frosting was absolutely divine so good I couldn’t tell you if the frosting or the cupcake was the best part! We will definitely be back soonish to pick up our daughters first birthday cake and to stock up on more delicious cupcakes!!!

Too Sweet Cakes Menu with Prices Square Loop, 1012 SE Cleveland Ave #1A, Bend

Do not recommend this place at all. Horrible service. My sister ordered a cake for me over a month before my birthday, the plan was to pick up the cake October 11th. My sister called and emailed with Alyssa I believe and went over everything she wanted. A decorative, pretty and fancy cake. The cake she picked up was none of this. It was white with gold dropping and that was it. And the gold dripping was the worst dripping I have ever seen. She started crying because she was so upset. She had gone over macaroons, roses etc. as decor on the cake and the girl more than a month out said they didn’t have macaroons at that time… LOL okay so it’s more than a month out… what about closer to the time??? Very strange, poor communication. Also, she said other options than macaroons on top of the cake. She wanted a PRETTY cake. The cake we received was so horrible. When she showed me after she had already cried I couldn’t help but laugh. I’ve seen the cakes and treats that this place has provided for weddings and was impressed and then when finally someone I know chooses to go through them they give such poor service. I would never recommend this place and will be sure to pass on the word to anyone who asks about it. So disappointed. Fred Meyers does better cakes for 15 bucks which I picked up for my brother a few weeks ago. Much better design and details too for no extra charge.

Flowers Baking Co of Modesto, LLC – Menu with Prices – 736 Mariposa Rd, Modesto

Dry Cake & Lacks Attention to Order Details I ordered our wedding cake from Laurie, the owner of Sweet Kisses, hoping to save on cost while supporting a small business. I regret that decision. The cake itself was very dry and I was embarrassed to serve it to our guests. It was over baked, which overshadowed everything about the taste. You can buy a better cake at a grocery store. In terms of aesthetics, it was simply not the cake we ordered, which did not matter to Laurie when this was brought to her attention. I would recommend staying far away from this business. My experience with Laurie was characterized by an overwhelming disregard of important details: -Laurie booked and confirmed a cake tasting with us for a specific date and time approximately a month out. As the date neared, I emailed to confirm, as we are quite a drive from her town. Laurie had the date wrong in her calendar. She was able to see us on our orginal date but we had to change the time last minute to accommodate her schedule. -Three months in advance, I gave Laurie detailed pictures with dimensions of the cake stand to be used for the tiered cake and she gave the green light on being able to fit the cake on it. However, a mere 3 days before our wedding, she said that in thinking things through, she was not sure she would be able to fit the cake on the cake stand unless she reduced the size of the cake (after payment had already been made in full). She pulled through in the end by assembling the cake on-site at the venue, but it was completely unnecessary stress to have this back-and-forth exchange 3 days before our wedding when she should have just been more meticulous from the beginning when writing up our order. -When placing our order, we specified no border between tiers, which Laurie made note of on our invoice. The cake ended up having a pearl border between all tiers. When we brought up this mistake to Laurie a week after the wedding, she acknowledged it was not what we had asked for or what was in her own writing on the invoice but, instead of an apology, she was defensive and stated that she took creative liberty on this design detail. Excuse me? -When placing our order, we were specific on a design element that we wanted for the top and bottom tiers of the cake. Laurie charged an additional amount for this, as it would require extra labor to achieve. We gladly paid it because we wanted the particular aesthetic of the more intricate frosting design. However, the cake we received did not have the more involved detailing that we had specified and that we were charged extra for. Laurie was not amenable to refunding us the additional charge, even though we had no results to show for it because she did not execute as promised. She hid behind a “slight variation” excuse but, no, she did not execute on this detailing whatsoever and had the audacity to claim that she did. Do not jeopardize your special occasion by trying to save a few dollars with a cake from Laurie. Take your business to someone who is more detail-oriented and will actually carry out the work they say they will after taking your money. Additional comments following Yelp reply on 06/10/15 from Laurie (please see all 7 pictures posted by me): The pictures Laurie chose to share in her reply — and the very important one she omitted — speak volumes as to why I would not recommend doing business with her. I’ve uploaded our correspondence sent the day the order was placed, as well as both of the sample cake pictures shared with Laurie to convey our vision. Laurie replying to this review with a picture of the actual cake and only 1 of the 2 cake examples from our correspondence without giving any context is misleading, and saying that she executed as promised is false. To the contrary, claiming that the actual cake closely matched the 1 example she shared is an admission that she did not execute on the detail specifications of the top & bottom tiers, which were captured in the second picture she conveniently did not post. The Office Cake – Menu with Prices – 1460 NW 107th Ave, Miami

Ordered a cake for my job as one of our long time employees was leaving the company after 20 years. We planned a luncheon and instead of ordering a regular cake I decided to order a custom cake. I thought about the Office Cake and went online to try to get ideas. I couldn’t find one so I called them. I told them what I was looking for and they told me to look at one of their designs “Don” which I did. So I went ahead and ordered this design and told them the words that we wanted on the cake. I wanted it have it delivered to our office but I found out that delivery takes place between 11 and 4 p.m. and there are no guarantees that our cake will deliver by the time I specified so I place the order for pick up. They have two locations one in Doral and one by Tamiami park. I chose their Doral location as my work is in the Doral area. When I went to their store in Doral, the store is filled with cake samples and it so happened that a bride was choosing her wedding cake on this day. The service was friendly and quick, they brought the cake which I was a tad disappointed that it looked kind of small. I was ordering for 10 employees. However, this cake which I had chosen for 7 people was plenty. So, don’t be discouraged. The cake design was very nice, unique. It as a cake with a champagne glass a top of the cake, inside the plastic cup there was some kind of gelatin or jelly like substance that was edible and made to look like the beverage. I chose the German chocolate filling. Overall, the cake design was great, the cake itself was delicious, the customer service outstanding.

Sweet Moments Dessert Company – Menu with Prices – Corona

This is a long overdue review I’ve been meaning to leave and did not want to not leave a review. I last minute got tasked to do the cake for my friend’s big bday and I frantically searched and called many custom cake places. None would even entertain a conversation with me and scoffed at me for only a few days notice but Laurice was so polite and sweet about the last minute request. She shared it was last minute and normally I would need to provide more notice but was willing to help me. Her not just scoffing me off alone made a big difference in who I would have wanted to work with. She was extremely patient, honest and worked with me on the type of cake I wanted. I sent her a picture and she shared she couldn’t do the exact flowers but can do something similar. I wanted berry fillings and she shared it would be costly and offered to purée a handmade filling for me if I’d like to save on some costs which was so considerate of her. The ordering process was a quick process with pictures and legit emails very professionally done detailing our price, process, etc. she originally gave me a timeframe to pick up on a Friday night but saw I was coming from Irvine that she told me in advance there would be a lot of traffic and offered flexibility for pick up. When the day finally came for pick up it was raining and I was in the worst traffic but she was very sweet about it (I mean who wants to wait on a Friday night for a customer to get there!) and definitely really eased my stress. When I picked up she was still so sweet even though I was late picking up and she was very delicate with the cake and giving me advice how to make sure it stays looking pretty. Now the cake.. OMG!!! I received so many compliments how moist and tasty the cake was. It wasn’t too sweet it wasn’t too bland it was just perfect! Many of the guests came to ask me for who I used and wished I took some cards to pass out ! The cake was beautiful and still thinking about it’s taste now (the cake was back in December) mmm! I would definitely work with Laurice again and refer her to all my friends. I don’t live close to corona but I would definitely make a trip out there to just work with her again.

Sweet Couture Designer Cakes – Menu with Prices – 2560 19th St SE, Salem

This was the perfect dream wedding cake in every single way. We wanted a birch tree cake (we also didn’t want to end up paying thousands of dollars) that looked amazing and tasted delicious and this was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen and the most delicious! When we went in for our tasting, Sherry was so friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us samples of all her cakes (we weren’t sure what flavors we wanted at all) and they were THE BEST cake we have ever had. My now husband, mom and I all were blown away. No where else we tried came anywhere close to the flavor and quality here. We also checked out places that were not nearly as high quality that were almost the same price! Sherry was extremely flexible with us and did an amazing job setting up our cake. We added GF cupcakes to our order a month out with no issues (these were also the best GF cake we’ve had) and everything looked beautiful. We made our own pinecone cake toppers and Sherry set them up for us the day of. She brought back up cake stands too. If you have any event and need a delicious and beautiful cake, Sweet Couture is without a doubt the perfect choice! Thank you!!!

Aunt Kelly’s Cookies Menu with Prices 857 N Howard St, Baltimore

I had an awesome experience at Aunt Kelly’s. The store was really clean, Aunt Kelly greeted me with a huge smile, and it ain’t cause I was cute, as soon as I walked in. And to ice that proverbial cake, the cookies are delicious. I had the “World Famous,” or at least soon to be, ButterCrunch cookies, the Chocolate Chip, and wait for it…..the Chocolate Chip ButterCrunch. Kelly doesn’t have 20 different kinds of exotic and out of the norm cookie varieties like other cookie places and honestly I think it’s because she doesn’t have to. What few flavors Aunt Kelly does, she does extremely well. If I had to, and I do mean had to, my only issue would be that they are a smidge too sweet but I’m still a huge fan and can’t wait to go back VERY SOON! Happy Happy Joy Joy

Aunt Joy’s Cake – Menu with Prices – 700 S Flower St #102, Burbank

I first tried a cake from Aunt Joy’s at a work event and was so impressed I asked where it was from and added a bookmark on Yelp. Several years later I finally had the occasion to order a cake of my own from Aunt Joy’s, and the Berry Whip Cream cake was as delicious as I remembered! It’s a white cake layered with fresh berries and frosted with whipped cream. The cake is light and fluffy and just the right level of sweetness. It sort of reminds me of the triple berry cake from Sweet Lady Jane’s, but the cake texture is lighter compared to SLJ. And the price of course is less expensive. You can opt for pick up (free) or delivery (for a fee). We opted to pick up at their location in Burbank on Flower Street and it was quick and easy. I stored the cake overnight for a party the next day and it kept very well in the refrigerator. I also requested the cake be plain (undecorated) so we could decorate using fresh flowers. Will be back for more cakes in the future!

Caramba Sports Bar – Menu with Prices – 18340 Soledad Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita

Spent an impromptu late evening with a friend for his birthday on a weeknight. The bar was empty at first, not unusual for a Tuesday night at 9pm….until Toppers closed across the street! Before long we were playing pool for pitchers with a bunch of cooks and kitchen staff from Toppers and the bar owner, Willie (who was awesome). Great little dive bar for sure! Thanks for the hangover Will!!

Sauer Cakes – Menu with Prices – 583 Witham Ct, Columbus

I would recommend Sauer Cakes and Michelle to anyone and everyone! My husband and I really struggled with our cake design due to us both wanting two different things. Michelle was SO patient with us and helped us design the PERFECT cake. Itâ??s like she took the cake I was imagining right out of my mind and made it come to life! Thank you so much Michelle for everything!
