I’ve been on two segway tours with Transport Yourself and really enjoyed each one. Highly recommend them as the way to see Austin! Five stars all the way around! I first went on the bat tour. This is a great tour where go through scenic parts of Austin and unique parts of downtown, ending at the Congress bridge to see the bats. Though the bats can be picky on when they come out, this doesn’t diminish the joy of riding around town on a segway. Their segways are top of the line. I love how safe I felt. They have great tour guides that give excellent instruction for first-timers. You practice a bit before you go out so you are totally comfortable with handling the segway. Then on the tour, the guides keep a good eye on the guests to make sure everyone is safe and having a good time. We wanted to go and see the historical murals in Austin…and as it turns out, we planned on doing so in the heat of the summer. Between trying to find parking and walking in the heat…this didn’t sound fun. But on a segway?! Heck yea! The mural tour is fantastic! There are so many interesting murals in Austin that are tucked away, a segway is a great way to see them, snap a photo and stroll along to the next one. This is THE WAY to see AUSTIN!

Celestial Seasonings Tea House – Menu with Prices – 1669 Euclid Ave, Boulder

I checked this place out, it was right outside of downtown Boulder. The building was easy to find and when you check in you get a little sample tea pack. The tour starts with a short video about the history of the company and tea. The tour guides then take you through the building and give you all sorts of facts and information. The tour guides I had were pretty funny and seemed to generally enjoy their jobs which made the tour more enjoyable. The tour ends in the gift shop. I highly recommend purchasing the energy tea (fast lane), it is delicious and pretty much impossible to order online (I regret not buying more). I really enjoyed checking this place out, it was one of the highlights of my visit to Colorado!

Paddler’s Pub – Menu with Prices – 1329 N U.S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins

MWD IS THE BEST RAFTING COMPANY IN FORT COLLINS,CO! Four of us (two couples) went on a half day rafting trip. Our family has been rafting in several states and MWD ranking as one of the best overall. From the online reservations to check in and even the safety review everything is done professionally yet friendly manner. All the guides are well trained and dedicated to making the trip down the river as fun and as safe as possible. Our guide Nate was able to quickly sense that even though we might not have been the most able raft he ever guided we were willing to give it our all. His skills as a river man were obvious, but we all really appreciated his knowledge of not only the environmental but the historical significance of the river. Our only regret was we did not have time for a full day trip! TOP RATE ALL TH

Magoffin Home State Historic Site – Menu with Prices – 1120 Magoffin Ave, El Paso

As much as the architectural beauty of the Magoffin Home, the value this attraction brings is compounded because it is a crash course into the history of the city of El Paso. The visitor center, located opposite to the home, is where to get the tour tickets. The property is managed by the Texas Historical Commission. Tours are on every hour. There is a short video which should be watched before embarking on the tour. The construction of the property happened before the arrival of railroad to El Paso. The design and construction of the house is impressive and provides a lot of historic insights.A special shout out to the charming lady who was my tour guide, she made the visit all the more memorable with her patient explanations and thorough chronicling of the historical significance of Magoffin family and Magoffin Home. She explained that the family members had served in American Civil War and the World War along with other wars. Apologies I missed out on her name.

Tastin’ Round Town Food Tours – Menu with Prices – 175 Peabody Pl, Memphis

Lance was a fantastic tour guide for our BBQ food tasting tour. We went to 6 different restaurants and he selected his favorites which we enjoyed!!! In addition to the standard fare of BBQ Memphis Pork sandwiches and ribs, we had BBQ spaghetti and BBQ egg rolls. The food was delicious and we would have never been able to get to the number or quality of restaurants especially with his VIP service at each restaurant which got us seated promptly and food served ahead of everyone else. We really came away with knowledge on the history of BBQ in Memphis and the different nuances of different BBQ techniques from a very educated individual who also serves as a judge for the official Memphis BBQ contest each year. The bonus of the tour was that Lance providing the history of the Memphis downtown area and pointed out many of the historical area’s as well as the current redevelopment plans for the City. Extremely interesting and we all came away from the tour with an extremely rewarding and tasty tour!!! Highly recommend this tour. It is part walking and part by transportation. Be sure you bring your appetite as you will certainly end the tour with a very satisfied meal after sampling the best of the best.

The Meatball Shop – Menu with Prices – 170 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn

I’ve been to many Meatball Shops around the city as I’m a big fan of the veggie ball. The meatballs are a 4 and the manager is a 1. I happened to come to this location on a food tour for my dad’s 65th birthday… The group got their meatball to taste and the manager started to tell us about the establishment/history/etc. Because we were on a public group tour where photos were encouraged my dad took a photo (seated, no flash, not disruptive) of the manager speaking. HE DID NOT LIKE THAT. He starred my dad down for 15-20 seconds and there was awkward silence throughout the group. He rudely told us “you don’t take a photo of someone without their permission.” I totally get that… but we were on a group tour with 20 tourists, you are speaking publically, and you did not state “no photos” before your speech. Some people capture memories with their phone, relax, and be patient with senior citizens. What we experienced was unfriendly and unprofessional. Choose another location to dine at.

Walnut Bridge Market & Chattanooga Segway Tours – Menu with Prices – 204 Walnut St, Chattanooga

I’m absolutely in love with little convenient market. I’ve being stopping here since they have opened. It’s a wonderful place to run in and grab a water before or after you walk or run. There are a few snacks. It’s also an awesome place to just grab a beer and sit for a while ( people watch). I have also met and talked with some interesting passerby’s. You can rent a bike or take a Segway tour. The most important thing is the fun friendly staff there. I know most of them by name and vice versa. I would like to see just a little bit more food there…. maybe some fresh breakfast and lunch sandwiches. But… maybe in the future.

C. Baker & Co – Menu with Prices – 421 E Broughton St, Savannah

Saw a little postcard at our B&B about this place (which was only two blocks away) and was tempted to go…and it was such a find! This locally owned/operated store is located in the less commercial end of Broughton but a MUST visit — you must seek this out. Some local tour guides include this shop in their foodie tours. Yes, they have honey (and free tasting if you need some help deciding) — the owner Kristen was so lovely and helpful with everything! The different honey products were all amazing….and then some! Found lovely other items and decided to get a ton of early Christmas shopping done! The hair/skin products are wonderful — organic, natural, essential oils. Had to get some lavender balm (okay, a few tubes) to take home. Then, found some amazing soy candles scented with essential oils (burns 80 hours per label!): jackpot on gifts for many lucky friends. They also have a website which I am sure to check out (since I’ll probably be ordering more things as holidays approach). Since it was only the start of our day, the owner offered to keep our purchases ‘in the back’ while we continued to stroll around — and since our inn was so close, she even volunteered to drop it off if needed! Such customer service is rare, but very appreciated (not something you would get from a ‘chain’ store). Everyone who comes to Savannah should stop by!!!

Grant’s Lounge – Menu with Prices – 576 Poplar St, Macon

I had so much fun at this place. The live band and singers from the audience were amazing! I got to take a photo and dance onstage with the host Johnny Hollingshed Jr. It was a great experience! I was in awe the entire night! I will go back to this historical landmark in music in Macon GA. We have the beginning of R&B, Soul, Rock & Roll, James Brown, Otis Redding, Little Richard and the Allman Brothers.

Taste of Kansas City Food Tours – Menu with Prices – 3104 W 154th St, Overland Park

Because I was visiting KC during the week and at a time (fall) when most of the City Tours and Hop-On-Hop-Off buses had packed it in for the season, I was a little bit desperate for a good tour, which I was fortunate to discover in this Taste of Kansas City foodie tour. But first a disclaimer: since it was just me, I asked the lovely Rebecca, who runs the tour company, if I could do a hybrid tour, for a special price. I was looking to see the city, learn some KC history, drive into Kansas to see what that looked like and eat and drink my way through this great mid-western metropolis. What a tour I got! I agreed to meet Rebecca downtown and off we went! Since I was in need of a good strong cup of coffee, we immediately headed off to the Arts District, where a run into Thou Mayest Coffee Shop was perfect. Since we were near Art Alley, Rebecca took me right through this 2-block long guerrilla art project, which I LOVED! Driving around town, I enjoyed the Plaza District, with it’s sister city of Seville, Spain’s architectural influence. I was fascinated driving along Stateline Street and learning from Rebecca how the local Indian tribes were pushed out of Kansas City, Missouri and forced onto tribal land in Kansas after the Indian Wars. I never realized how strong the Mob influence was in this town. Union Station was really interesting & I learned it was haunted. About this time, I was getting hungry. I decided on Joe’s BBQ– what else can a tourist eat in KC, if not BBQ? Rebecca and I got lucky: if wasn’t too crowded AND IT WAS FULL OF LOCALS, which is something I always enjoy in my travels–hanging with the town folk. Rebecca said to order the burnt ends but they weren’t available until later. So I ordered a combo BBQ Plate which was delicious! Then it was time for dessert, so we stopped at Bizz & Weezy. OMG–candied bacon chocolate? Coffee-infused caramels? Oh yes! There was a tour through the historical Westport District and then back to downtown where Rebecca was gracious enough to stop at a wonderful deli and treat me to a great Ruben sandwich to take back to the hotel for dinner. This was not the standard KC FoodieTour, because, at my request, it also included elements of an art tour, church tour, architecture tour, Kansas tour, prohibition tour, ghost tour and all of that equaled ONE EXCELLENT ADVENTURE! If you are in Kansas City, I highly recommend the Foodie Tour with wonderful guide Rebecca. Or any of her other specialized tours.

Tom’s Town Distilling Co. – Menu with Prices – 1701 Main St, Kansas City

Found this place through a google search, didnâ??t know it existed before that. Took the tour with a friend for their birthday. This was great. We went on a Friday evening and were the only people on the tour which I thought was going to be awkward, but our tour guide was great! He was so knowledgeable, answered all the questions we didnâ??t have know we had, and showed us the whole operation. It felt very special which was perfect for my friendâ??s birthday. When we got to the tasting we walked through the different flavors and styles he explained all the different things we should notice. ***y’all have got to try their gin*** after the tour we went upstairs and had a drink in their lounge, the drinks were Fantastic! They knew how to perfectly highlight the flavors in the alcohol. Over all I would totally recommend this place for a tour or just an evening it for drinks. Definitely a hidden gem and a must try in KC.

Boulevard Brewing Tours & Recreation Center – Menu with Prices – 2534 Madison Ave, Kansas City

This was one of the best brewery tours I’ve taken. Boulevard knows how to make the experience a great one! We arrived early on a busy Saturday afternoon and were able to get tickets to their last tour of the day at 4pm. That gave us a couple of hours to kill. The first floor of their downtown building has some historical information/museum-type items in the front and the large gift shop is in the back. Head upstairs and grab a drink or two! I ordered the Produce Aisle flight, and it was delicious. I already knew that JamBand was one of my favorites, so this was a good choice! They do have a side window for food. This space is a large and opened up with long tables resembling a German brew haus, as well as being lined with smaller tables for a more intimate setting. If you want to play some shuffle board, etc, head on up another flight of stairs. Bartenders await you there as well. When it was time for the tour, we met up on the first floor inside the entrance. (Be prepared to show your ID if you haven’t already had your hand stamped.) We headed across the way where it all began. Our tour guide was fun and informative. At the beginning of the tour while getting the early history of the brewery, they give you a tasting glass of their Pale Ale (the first beer they brewed). We moved into another building that is set-up for events and learned more about the brewery. We were able to go outside on a balcony, take a fun picture with the Boulevard sign behind us, and learn more before we continued to our last stop, which was a private tasting room where we were given two more tasting glasses of whichever Boulevard beers we wanted to try. That’s where I became a fan of the KC Pils. This was a highlight to our visit to KC and I highly recommend it!

Another Bar – Menu with Prices – 926 Bloor St W, Toronto

Another Bar on Bloor Street is one we liked a lot! Super friendly staff look you right in the eye and say, ‘What’ll ya have?’ None of the pretentiousness of Queen or King Streets exist at this northern extreme of Toronto. When you are this far away from civilization, a friendly bartender is exactly what is needed. What struck me as the big draw is the beer menu! Check out the photo I have posted. Take that as only an example because the menu can change daily or whenever they get around to it. The tenders like to talk beer, which I appreciates about them unquestionably. No imports, so forget about ordering a Stella or Heineken, instead you have a wide and varied selection of local beers and a few ciders as well. Admiring a gorgeous golden yellow, or rich deep red of a local brew in a custom beer glass really turns my crank as much as the taste itself. They have a bar snacks menu as well, with wings etc., so if you are hungry you don’t have to get by with potato chips. The murals are fantastic in vivid monochrome colours. I particularly like the story of how beer is made thru the icons along the open wall. Very cool. The reclaimed wood bar is long and accommodating although on the Friday night we went around 8pm every seat was taken. People tend to come and go here so space freed up without too much of a wait. How do you tell if someone is a great bartender? The answer is, when they are not insecure and freely talk about other great bars. Talking to the staff here who had big ups for Blood Bros. brewing nearby only serve to convince me that genuine humanity exists!
