My husband and I finally decided to try this new place down the street from our house last night. We showed up at around 6:30 and had some issues with parking. They share a smaller parking lot with Applebee’s so that’s understandable. We sat in the bar area, and the service was decent. The food on the other hand was just alright. Especially for the price. We started with the calamari, which we enjoyed, but it was the smallest amount of appetizer calamari I’ve ever gotten at a restaurant and the calamari pieces themselves were tiny too. It definitely did not feel like a $14 appetizer in terms of size. I would consider that amount, even at a more upscale establishment, a maximum $10 small plate. For our entrees my husband had the halibut fish and chips and I had the manicotti. The halibut fish and chips were the best between the two, although still on the more bland side of fish and chips we’ve had before. The manicotti was confusing. The menu boasts an eggplant purée and basil creme fraiche with it, but there were at least 4 different sauces on that plate. It was too much. They all ended up somewhat jumbled together when trying to eat the manicotti and all those different flavor combinations led to it just tasting “bleh.” I did not finish it and after trying it my husband elected not to take home the rest, which says a lot. And that was the most expensive dish of everything we ordered at $18. Realistically, the best thing we had was the flourless chocolate torte, and I highly doubt that’s made in house. As for the drinks, I would recommend you either order off of their elaborate menu of froo froo, sweet cocktails, or you stick to the easy, two ingredient stuff. I ordered a Manhattan, or what they would call a sweet vermouth with a dash of bourbon, and I watched a few employees (including the bartender) google on their phones the ingredients to make someone a White Russian. So….yeah.

Secretos del Perú – Menu with Prices – 2200 Palm Ave, Hialeah

Ok their prices are not that cheap, they don’t even put on the table the dish with the choclo, sweet potatoes and the bits of corn with the delicious sauce that other REAL PERUVIAN RESTAURANTS give you automatically complimentary while you wait for your food. NOT HERE! So I ordered the mixto ceviche Which has more of the pulpo than anything else and only 2 pcs of shrimp the rest is chewy calamari and fish chunks. I ate half of what would’ve been my favorite plate and gave the rest to my husband and he gave me his plate of lomo salteado which he has had better. My son loved his plate plate tallarín verde con bistec. My favorite part of the meal is that it ended. Sorry but this so called hidden gem needs to stay hidden. The place is very clean, love the decor, and it’s location IS NOT IN A ROUGH NEIGHBORHOOD. It’s location is great, parking is great. Ambiance is great

Due Lune Cucina – Menu with Prices – 1 State St, Santa Barbara

I’ve been waiting a while to write this review. We were in town for the weekend with my in laws, yelp led us to think this place was good, so we decided to try it. We only had ONE night out for dinner and we sadly chose the wrong place. Service was very slow, from start to finish it felt like we were there for hours. First the heaters outside were on, in summer, burning my husbands head. We asked they be turned off and they turned them down… but still on, even though were the only ones in that seating area. Next the food… The meatball appetizer was so-so. Portions were small so we had to order two. I ordered the veal, my husband got pasta and my in-laws ordered halibut. The point of veal is that is is soft and tender and melt-in-your mouth. The veal here was the consistency of chicken. I had to saw it with a knife. The sauce on the halibut was spicy… Actually spicy, not just a red sauce. My husbands plain pasta was the best dish. After our meals we ordered cappuccinos (they were yummy) and biscotti. The cappuccinos took 15 minutes to get to the table and the biscotti didn’t come for another 15 minutes after that. We had to ask the server to remove the biscotti from our bill as our coffee was gone by time it arrived. Our bill was $250, $300 after tip for 4 people. Summary: Bad service, expensive and a long wait for sub par food! Find somewhere else.

Rosalia’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 14965 Old St Augustine Rd Unit 101, Jacksonville

When we first moved to Jacksonville, this was Roma’s. My husband and I ate there two to three times a week due to it being close, affordable, large portions and always having good food. When the ownership changed, we tried again but between the awful ownership and the massive increase In prices, we stopped going. When I saw that it was under new ownership yet again and the positive reviews were flooding in, we decided to give it another shot. We were seated quickly and greeted warmly by our server, Jamie. Drinks and rolls were brought out promptly and our order was taken shortly thereafter. I ordered the pasta Rosalia upon recommendation from our waitress and my husband ordered the manicotti combo. Salads took a little bit longer but it was a Friday night so I didn’t think too much of it. Sadly, the salad was the most flavorful part of the whole meal. Our food came out and I was shocked at how small my husband’s portion was. The manicotti consisted of two very small manicotti rolls that were no bigger than a hot dog and they were smothered in marinara sauce. I tried the marinara sauce (supposedly homemade) and it had zero flavor other than salt. My pasta (angel hair pasta with spinach, mushrooms and a white wine lemon aioli) had absolutely no seasoning to be seen. I ate a few bites of the pasta and tried to doctor it with the red pepper flakes and the Parmesan that was on the table and even that couldn’t help it. I then tried the “aioli” by itself which basically tasted like chicken broth with a slight lemon flavor. I asked our waitress if the manicotti normally only comes with two noodles and she laughed and said “yes, I eat it so fast.” We boxed up my food & drove down the street to Taco Bell because we were still hungry. $34 before tip? No thanks.

Divot Room Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 3509 NE Columbia Blvd, Portland

Those fish & chips are excellent. Halibut with a nicely flavored batter. There’s plenty of fries, coleslaw, & even garlic bread. It was too much food, I couldn’t finish it. My daughter had the cheeseburger and she enjoyed it as well. Service was attentive & they kept my coffee refilled constantly. Nice view of the golf course. Overall, good experience, decent food, big portions. Would recommend.

TJ Hibachi & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 5001 Monroe St, Toledo

This was a close call between 2 and 3. I opted to give it a 3 because it was definitely better than a 2, and I’m giving these guys the benefit of the doubt. Upon walking into this place, I found myself immediately confused by the lack of hibachi grills. I’ve been to a couple hibachi restaurants in the past and they’ve all had the grill as part of the table, and the meal is something of a performance in addition to ordinary food. Unfortunately, this place did not have that. Immediately -1 star. Then, we ordered our appetizer, the calamari rings, only to find that they were GIANT gummy thick rings, instead of the small crunchy rings I’ve come to be familiar with everywhere else that I’ve gotten calamari. The size would have been an upside except that the texture was atrocious. Another -1 star. We didn’t even finish the (quite small) calamari appetizer because it was so bad. Anyways, fast forward to our meals, the prices were fair albeit a little high for the area, and the food was well seasoned and tasty, though the wait was a bit long for how empty the restaurant was. Nothing really to complain about or take note of here. Overall, probably a 2.5-2.75/5. My mom and I will not be coming by again in the near future.

Sea Fish N Chips – Menu with Prices – 45 High St SE, Calgary

I just got home from a late lunch/early dinner at Sea. Fish n Chips. I’m pretty disappointed. While it wasn’t dreadful, it definitely won’t have me returning. First, the food. I ordered the “Jaws” meal, with the halibut as my choice. “Jaws” comes with 2 prawns, 2 scallops, 2 oysters, fish, slaw, and chips. Sounds great, right? Well, not so much. I received a TINY spoon of slaw, a handful of chips (honestly, about 12-15 pieces?) and the seafood. The chips tasted as if they had been fried in old oil. Not very good at all. The prawns and scallops were decent enough, the fish was a TINY portion though (i’m guessing 2 oz. TOPS, which when paying the premium for the big meal with the premium fish, I expected a bit larger) — the fish portion tasted fine, but I am dubious as to if it was actually halibut. (I used to manage a Fish n Chips place — I can identify fish by taste/texture. It was more akin to cod or a haddock — not dense like halibut usually is…hmmm…) The oysters though? There was something definitely off with them. I was actually frightened to eat them for fear of becoming ill later…. and I am not one to be persnickity usually. The “off” oysters now brings me to my next issue with Sea…. the service. The service was friendly enough, but the server was completely inattentive. We were one out of the 2 tables in there and they didn’t appear to busy with take-out service or anything. Both myself and my dining companion ordered coffee and we waited a very long time before being offered a refill. When we received our meals it was still awhile before we ever got more coffee, and she dropped our plates so fast that we couldn’t even catch her to ask for more. (where she was off to, I have no idea… like I said, we were one of two tables) We never got any sort of quality check. I was waiting, and waiting, hoping she’d come by so I could let her know about the strange/off oysters, but nothing…. I finally went to the counter and told the young man, because the server wasn’t even IN the dining area. (??) The response? “Really? Huh. That’s weird. Let me get your server.” (I would have apologized…???) The oysters were replaced with 2 other prawns, which was ok. But it was frustrating not having a check-up shortly after food was dropped. I’m in the service industry myself. I am actually VERY forgiving with less than stellar service if I can see the server is overwhelmed with tables, or appears to be in training or whatever. Our server at Sea. just seemed to not really care one way or another. When she was at our table she was “friendly” I suppose, but I felt like there was no actual SERVICE. Given the disappointment in food (value and taste), and service, I don’t think I’ll ever be back. Wouldn’t get take-out either. No wonder the place was pretty much a ghost town…. ?

Casa Viva Mexican/Seafood – Menu with Prices – 18911 S Tamiami Trail #17, Fort Myers

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. We came in and sat down and it was at least 10 minutes before we ever even saw an employee. She finally came over and handed us some worn out dirty menus. We ordered guacamole and chips to start. It was a bowl full of some kind of soupy avocado mixture and came with a small amount of chips. It had an odd flavor and was not good. We did not receive any chips and salsa like most Mexican restaurants offer. Two of us had the fish tacos which came with some fried shrimp on the side and French Fries. Not sure why tacos do not come with rice & beans. The “fish taco” was one small piece of fried fish, not even as long as the tortilla, with a little cabbage and a lot of sauce. Not good. The fried shrimp were really just some breading and a tail. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because the prices are low, our beer was cold and my husband had chicken enchiladas that he enjoyed. The service was not good and the place could use a deep cleaning.

KS on the Keys РMenu with Prices Р1029 Daz̩ St, Ottawa

I remembered this place to be better but I was so disappointed with the food and menu. Their food prices are way too expensive for what you end up getting. The calamari was okay. My fish and chips dish was around $14. The fish looked and tasted like it was out of a grocery store frozen box. My boyfriend had the smoked meat sandwich with a side of fries. The smoked meat sandwich was around $17 if I remember correctly but looked and tasted like a sandwich you could get for $10 at a diner. So disappointing!!! They also garnish and sprinkle all their plates with cilantro. Why? Who knows but my friend with the soap tasting gene couldn’t eat his French onion soup or fish and chips since there was cilantro EVERYWHERE! The service was okay. A couple of friends came late and they didn’t take their orders until they flagged a waiter down as he was serving our food. But they were able to get their food out not too long after so that was a plus. I wouldn’t come back here unless I had to.

Fish District – Menu with Prices – Town Center, 6278 Irvine Blvd, Irvine

01.02.2018 Hubby, Little O and I came here because it was next to the bike store (a required stop) and we just finished running some errands. We spent $29 for the three of us: 1-Regular traditional salmon poke bowl 1-Cup clam chowder 1-Baja fish taco 1-Kid’s grilled salmon plate 1-Calamari Fritti Little O was not too fond of the sauce used for the poke bowl so we took it home. I told her I’d rinse it off and take off the cucumbers, and seaweed salad. The clam chowder was the best! I would definitely come back for it. The flavor was balanced and had good sized pieces of clams and veggies. It was creamy and yummy. Little O ended up eating all of it instead of the poke. I tried the Baja fish taco on a corn tortilla. It was average. The tartar sauce did not help at all. The fish was just plain, no flavor or seasoning. The calamari was lightly breaded and fried light (not much color on the fry). It was seasoned well and tasted good as soon as it was served because it was crispy and hot. But about 10 minutes into the meal the pieces began to go limp and soggy. The aioli was good, nothing exciting in flavor. The cocktail sauce was simple, not spicy. Hubby enjoyed the kid’s grilled salmon plate. The fish was a good size and thickness, seasoned well and cooked through. He didn’t care for the battered fries that it came with. If we came back to this area, the chowder and grilled plate would be on our list again.

Fry Me 2 The Moon Menu with Prices 5155 Atlanta Hwy, Alpharetta

Fish… I love fish!! It is hard to find a good spot with good fish because most places just have no flavor OR they have OK flavor but when getting fried fish the batter is subpar along with the frying job. At FRY ME 2 THE MOON this is NOT a problem… I know the name is self explanatory but my gosh can this place fry good food!! I ordered some FISH AND CHIPS and ordered an appetizer of their MAC & CHEESE BITES. It’s hard to screw up MAC & CHEESE so the expectations were high and met. You get good MAC & CHEESE with an excellent batter and fry that just makes for the perfect snack. It is very crisp and light batter and not greasy at all like some other locations. They do they same thing to their fish and batter!! Fish is tasty and the batter is crisp and so thin but holds on strong so it doesn’t crumble. Their fries and hushpuppies were just as perfect, I was very very happy. If you are a fish and shrimp aficionado I suggest you pay them a visit after checking out their menu, I’m willing to bet a penny you’ll love it!!  Roli’s Rating: 1. Service: 7/10, Good and friendly service but I tend to get chatty sometimes and I think the lady taking my order was surprised at my friendliness and excitement… I mean, I was about to eat, of course i’m excited! 2. Price: 6/10, Price will vary with whether or not you get a platter. Individual meals can be cheap from the $5-8 range but if you ask for a meal (two sides and hushpuppies) it’ll take you up to $12-$15 depending on the meal 3. Location and Parking: 6/10, Parking should never be an issue but I do feel as if this location is in the middle of nowhere because it is in between ALPHARETTA/MILTON/CUMMING, so no matter where you live you’ll have to travel a bit up HWY 9 to get to them 4. Cleanliness: 10/10, The place looked very clean  5. Health Rating: A (100) 6. Roli Overall Rating: 6/10  **Roli’s Recommendations** FISH AND CHIPS, HUSHPUPPIES, MAC & CHEESE

Sockeye Brewing Menu with Prices 12542 W Fairview Ave, Boise

Friday night they have halibut fish and chips! Woohoo! Virtually no wait on a Friday night. Got our party of 7 a nice table semi on the patio. The back half of our table was right along the bar inside. Which was fine for viewing NBA, NHL, baseball games on the 3 screens. I must say for $14 you get a nice light side of coleslaw, an abundance of fries, and tasty beer battered halibut. I do appreciate how my little ones have a nice large kiddie menu to choose from. With fish and chips being an option too. Although it doesn’t list it on the kids menu, drinks do come with. Eating out is one of the few times my kids are allowed to get soft drinks ? They had 2 sour beers on tap. I do like a good sour! But I have to say, my hubby’s nitro cream ale was superb. Service was not spectacular despite the massive amounts of wait staff on hand. Never was offered refills on water or kid drinks. My brother-in-law waited almost 20mins for another beer he ordered. I think server only cared if we ordered the expensive alcoholic drinks to check to offer more. Not good when I can blatantly pick up on that tactic. We had very long gaps and very few check backs. I felt we had to hunt/wave her down if ever we needed anything. It was kind of loud but we could hardly hear/understand her as she never spoke up and seemed to mumble. I believe it to be important to be understandable and clear when talking to your patrons. Especially if you are busy. Not walking away, leaving the table hanging and customers wondering “Huh”? So, despite the service, the food and beer were tasty. The patio lovely. I adore the sound of their water feature and the lack of smelling cigarette smoke despite being outside. (A pet peeve of mine). They had a great selection of sports on their TVs too; with something for everyone to enjoy. Always on the hunt for good halibut in the Boise area, this fit the bill. Hence the 4 stars instead of 3 for meh service. **Another sad ending to yet another Boise establishment, as the Cole location of Sockeye has shuttered their doors ?

Reginella’s Trattoria and Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 109 Volvo Pkwy, Chesapeake

So, I am currently at Reginella’s and am very disappointed. The server, Shannon, was nice and attentitive so there’s one thing they have going for them. We ordered water for drinks and got those promptly. I order the Trio Italiano and my fiancé ordered the manicotti and both come with a salad and bread. I chose ranch for my salad and my fiancé choose house Italian and we both received ranch. After I had finished my salad my fiancé was able to get the correct dressing from the waitress finally. Soon after, we received our food, and boy was that a shock. All three parts of my trio (lasagna, chicken Parm, and Alfredo) had a thick layer of mozarella cheese swallowing it and tasted like a frozen meal, that has been reheated. Gross. The manicotti my fiancé ordered also had the thick layer of mozarella and an excessive amount of sauce. After we discovered how disappointing our meals were, the bread came and it was nice and warm in the center, which almost made me forget how horrible my meal was. But it didn’t. I gave each part of my trio a chance, and then had to give up. My fiancé, who always finishes his plate, left a whole piece of his manicotti behind. I should mention that my fiancé is Italian so I have gotten used to making basic Italian dishes such as lasagna, chicken Parm, and Alfredo at home and even as an amateur cook, I could have presented a more authentic Italian meal. After waiting for our server to show her face again, we finally received our check along with a small dollop of free gelato, presumably because she noticed I left basically all of my meal behind without requesting a box. My fiancé and I had our first date at Reginella’s in Virginia Beach and remembered liking it, so boy are we disappointed that this location did not live up to our expectations.
