Nice shady park and popular pool. The playground is good for very young up to elementary school age kids. There is an old school wood and tire fort, zip line, swings, and other toys. The pool is very nice with a kid pool, main pool, and swim lanes for lap swimming. There are changing rooms/restrooms. Residents only, requires keyed access as there is a membership fee since the HOA doesn’t cover it.

Artisan Club – Menu with Prices – 1343 Celebration Ave, Kissimmee

So so pretty. The pool is always the perfect temperature and clean. The hot-tub could be hotter but at least it’s safe for kids. The showers and locker room are clean and well maintained. Good food is reasonably priced and very tasty, I just like that we don’t have to stop swimming just because it’s lunch time. I felt supper spoiled ordering shrimp cocktail and oysters on the half shell. The workout center has good machines and is kept at a reasonable temperature. Not all Celebration residents have access; you have to be a resident of Artisan Park to get a key card.

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 2151 Frankston Hwy, Tyler

Great location for a small-scale Walmart! Has full grocery and a small-scale pharmacy, the staff are friendly & helpful, & easier to find than in the super centers. These are a lot more friendly & personal. Restrooms also have 3 stalls, & are well-maintained, even having a disability-access stall & a changing table/station available. The parking lot is also nice & easy to access. I would come back here again!

Mcc Pool House Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – Country Club Ln, McAllen

Growing up at the McAllen Country Club was a kid’s dream. A huge pool with diving board, tennis courts, summer camp, a gorgeous golf course & great exercise room. I spent many summers at the kid’s camp, swimming and playing tennis with friends and as I got older, I just went to lay by the pool with some nachos and a margarita. The workout room and locker rooms are small but perfect for the size of the club. The machines are updated and there are always some open no matter what time you go in to work on your fitness. All of my family’s special events were hosted at the MCC from bat mitzvahs to graduation brunches. The service is beyond great but the food can be very hit or miss. The variety of choices at Sunday brunch are plentiful but when you go in and order off the menu, the food doesn’t always seem the freshest and the flavor profiles of many menu items are lackluster. Great place to grow up, swim, workout, play golf and hangout with fiends or family but don’t go in there expecting 5 star food although the Friday lunch buffet is pretty great.

Caribbean Resort by the Ocean – Menu with Prices – 313 Hayes St, Hollywood

The Caribbean Resort by the Ocean is in a fantastic location, steps from the Broadwalk in Hollywood, and basically as close to the beach as you can get without being right on it. It’s super convenient and the tiki bar is a great place to hang out in the evening. It has live music and friendly bartenders. That’s where the vacation ended for us with the Caribbean “Resort” by the Ocean. The cost per night was about $250 with a $250 deposit so we were expecting something halfway decent for a small “mom and pop” near the beach. We were told there were rooms poolside and tiki side but that there were only tiki side rooms available so we took what we could. Room 115 reeked of mold and mildew when we entered and had DampRid buckets on top of the kitchen counters. We didn’t say anything to the staff at the time because we wanted to change and get onto the beach, and honestly, I’m not sure the smell hit us too hard at first. Later that evening, after dinner we headed back to the hotel (motel?) and the tiki bar was busy, there was very loud music. Our room was right off of the bar but we couldn’t hear it that much in the room. As we got ready for bed the smell started to get to us. We’re both in our 40s, and healthy but had we been older, a child, had some kind of immunodeficiency problem, asthma, or ill, we would have been in serious trouble – and good thing we weren’t staying there for long. It was difficult to sleep in there. We really could not spend much time in our room due to the odor. The next day it was pretty hot out and we wanted to swim in the pool. We put on our suits and went in search of it but couldn’t find it. We went into the office to ask where it was but we were told that the pool that had been mentioned when we booked our room, wasn’t accessible to our room (remember, we were on the tiki side, not the pool side) – the pool was for another hotel they manage next door. We were flabbergasted and felt like we’d be lied to about the amenities provided in the establishment. We didn’t argue the point and spent the day on the beach – pissed but whatever…. That night, unable to spend time in our room due to the odor, we approached the staff at the desk about the mold/mildew and got an “apology” that sounded like an “I don’t care”. After we spent a while explaining how bad it actually was, and how dangerous it was, we were switched to another room – next to the pool!!!! (PS TV in that room did not work) At this point, it was 10 pm and we had a 5 am flight so we went to bed. My advice is if you want to stay here, ask to see and smell your room before you plop down any money. Ask if you have access to the pool. Check the TVs and all appliances, showers, beds, everything in your room before you make a commitment). If you read through some of the low reviews, you will see that some other people say their TVs don’t work or their shower was broken, or they did not have access to the pool. Just check everything before you commit because they will charge you once they take your cc. As I said, the location is great, but things may not be as they seem.

Hotel Captain Cook Menu with Prices 939 W 5th Ave, Anchorage

The arrival and checkin – – – Once we navigated the one way streets and found the front interest everything was smooth sailing. The valet was professional and courteous (though they did not offer to help unload luggage). The front desk staff were amazingly friendly and very helpful. There was a huge event going on in the ballroom making it hard to navigate to our room so the front desk staff quickly and efficiently switched our rooms. THE ROOM – – – We received a corner room which was nice because it included two huge windows. There was plenty of open space and a ledge beneath each window. I was able to prop my feet up, enjoy a cup of coffee, and enjoy views of mountains and the inlet. The bed was very comfortable and I slept solid both nights. The coffee station provided decaf, regular, and teas. The coffee was quite tasty. I had never seen the brand before, but it was good. I appreciated the real mugs! The bathroom was tiny, but the only blemish in an otherwise wonderful room. The Amenities – – – The pool, spa and health centers were top notch. It’s a little confusing finding your way from Tower 2. You have to go down to the lobby, walk to the whales tale, take the stairs down and make an immediate left. But the facilities were great. Full gym, pool with lanes for lap swimming, and a hot tub. There were chairs for lounging and a gentleman to guide you through the whole facility. Four restaurants on site made dining easy.

YWCA Laniakea – Menu with Prices – 1040 Richards St, Honolulu

Since Kaiser offers a free gym membership for those willing to visit a minimum number of times per year, I figured I should make the effort to be less of a lazy pants. After researching several gyms, deciding that I wanted to find a place that wasn’t going to be packed 24/7, I discovered the YWCA would be a good option. The building is absolutely gorgeous and there are several workout areas that offer all sorts of classes. There is a large, heated pool that offers time for laps, free swim, and swimming lessons. Classes take place either in the gym or in room 201. The gym is also available for basketball, although from what I’ve observed, only the guys play. (I’m sure they would be open to a woman playing, but it seems to be mostly men on their lunch break.) The classes are for all ability levels, from high-intensity CrossFit-like sessions to low-impact chair yoga. Most of the high-intensity classes are offered very early in the morning (before 7) or after work (after 4). Sometimes they will offer lunchtime classes, too. They post the monthly class schedules online, but you can also take a printed sheet home with you. Note that the entire YWCA facility is closed on Saturdays, so if you are a weekend workout warrior, this may not be the option for you. They also have a room with weights, treadmills, recumbent bikes, stairclimbers, etc. Some of the equipment in the room is rather old. They have one really nice treadmill and one really nice bike, but the others are really basic. Of course, everyone wants the better equipment, so it’s a roll of the dice for what you’ll be able to get. If you plan to work out at the Y, be aware that you are probably going to be paying for parking. There is very limited metered parking right outside the Y that’s free before 7AM or on Sundays/holidays. There is also parking at Iolani Palace ($1/hr) or at the surrounding parking garages, like Ali’i Place. During prime times (like lunchtime), parking can be sparse. The bus is also a good option, since there are several major transit points right around the Y. In all, the YWCA is a good option for a gym, especially if you are taking advantage of your Kaiser membership benefit.

I guess my last review was too much for this business because it was removed soon after it was written. I can’t help the fact that I’m brutally honest!!! That’s why I have a huge Yelp following now, with 30 followers!!! And why would a business hire someone who looks like the wait staff here??!?!? I had heard about this place for a while but never got a chance to check it out!!! That changed when a friend of mine decided to throw a birthday pool party here. I didn’t know what to expect but there still is a lot to be desired from the place. First walking in, there was a weird swinging door to the entrance. I didn’t know whether to push or pull. I ended up pushing. I don’t understand how they close up for the night with that type of door as the main entrance. Secondly, the stench of the restrooms filled the entrance and that’s not a good thing. It smelled as if someone tried to mask funk coming from the restrooms. I didn’t stay on the inside that long. I made my way to the outside through a rickety steel door with missing paint and rust revealing its age. The outside of this place is quite beautiful. And I was quite surprised since the inside was kind of shabby. There was a grill, bar, benches, tables, and several lounging chairs around the pool. The pool was sparkling clean and quite beautiful. I didn’t plan on swimming so I didn’t dress for swimming but I did stick my feet in the water and it was extremely cold but I guess that’s a good thing during the Georgia summer months. There was a lady who was I guess the wait staff/lifeguard. She came around and asked if we wanted anything and brought it to us. But I don’t think she should be serving drinks or in any type of job where she interacts with the public. Her appearance is not up to par to be any kind of public servant. She would be great at stocking or something that requires her to stay out of sight!!! There was also a Dj playing great music, I think his name was Steve and people were saying he never played music like he played that day!!! I guess he was catering to the crowd that came for the party. That is always a plus when it comes to djing, cater to whatever audience is in attendance that day. There was food there provided by my friend. It was grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, with all the fixing and chips. I’m not a drinker so I decided to walk to the convenience store adjacent to this bar. I purchased 2 32oz fountain drinks for $0.99. And walked back to the bar. They made a big hoopla about you couldn’t bring outside drinks inside. I didn’t understand that since there was food there and not everybody drinks alcohol, and why would I pay $3.00 for a soda that wasn’t even a third of the drink I purchased from the store. This put a very bad taste in my mouth. No pun intended!!! This made me reevaluate ever coming to this place again. I see if it was alcohol but it was Cherry Fanta and a Coke in a styrofoam cup!! I’m still up in the air about that decision right now, but I did enjoy myself outside in the pool area!!!

Cevallos Lofts – Menu with Prices – 301 E Cevallos St, San Antonio

Southtown livin’! The Cevallos Lofts are a fairly new apartment complex located right next to La Tuna and Blue Star. It’s a pretty large place, with a nice pool in the center of the apartment complex. The apartment complex has limited parking for the number of residents who live here. It can be especially frustrating when there’s an event going on at Blue Star or around downtown! Fortunately, they have lots of bike racks. The complex is always clean, picked up, and feels safe. There is ample security to keep things safe around here. The common areas are always nice and well lit. They offer a gym and areas to hang out with large tables and chairs. The pool is nice, with lots of places to lounge out in the sun. It’s located right in the center of the complex, with a few different areas to swim or hang out. The pool water is clean, and the place is picked up. The units are attractively decorated, with modern appliances, and plenty of room. The fixtures all work, and it’s a nice complex! It’s only a few years old, so all the interior stuff looks sharp! The best part of this complex is its proximity to cool places to hang out! It’s stumbling distance from La Tuna and right across the tracks from the Blue Star Arts Complex. Right around the corner is Say Si- another arts group. The train tracks go right behind this complex, but you get used to the rumble of the Texas Eagle chugging by on the tracks behind this place. The complex is pet friendly! Woof! Meow!

Our Place Saloon – Menu with Prices – Suite 502 7651, SW State Rd 200, Ocala

Went for my 1st visit . Was going to play pool . I was checking out the pool tables . They have free pool on Sundays I assume because tables were open to be able to access the balls . Before I even touched any thing was just looking at that point bartender came over and said you can’t play pool for free and not drink . He returned to the bar area and started to tell others sitting at the bar about me not ordering a drink . How strange is that . I had every intention of buying a drink and was going to have lunch . I did not even know pool was free so I could have cared less about that. To have the bartender hassel you before you could even settle in was just to strange . I left seemed he was looking to cause a problem and I did not need that on a nice Sunday afternoon . I would not recommend this place to any one and will never return. If I could I would give it a Zero rating ..

Kimpton Canary Hotel – Menu with Prices – 31 W Carrillo St, Santa Barbara

We stayed at the Kimpton Canary Hotel on Nov 10th through Nov 11th of 2018. I planned this vacation a few months ago to celebrate Daughter’s 6th Birthday. We are Los Angeles residents for over 27 years and have not stayed at Santa Barbara previously. I loved that our rooms were upgraded for being Spire Elite IHG members. I could not refuse the complimentary upgrade to a King Suite. Positives: Staff is friendly and wonderful. Anthony, Forrest, Matthew should be recognized for their work. They created a Birthday Sweets Package with Cookies / Macaroons, Chocolate Blueberries which my daughter loved. King bed and sofa bed is very comfortable. The top pool deck is nice. My kids would have loved it swimming. (We didn’t bring any swimwear, since its Chilly in Nov). Public parking is reasonable. Wifi is fast. Room had nice furniture. Nice location. Ambiance has that boutique feel. Free Fruits (Green apples are my favorite). Water pressure is great. Large washroom / living area. Location is great. Very convenient in Downtown Santa Barbara. Now with the Negatives: The rooms could be cleaner. My daughter pointed out that there was bug on the bed curtain. It wasn’t a bed bug or a roach, so it didn’t really trouble me. I’m not afraid of bugs, but the next guest might be, you probably want housekeeping to take a closer look. I also want to share some photos of some cobwebs and dead spider inside bathroom / toiler ceiling corner. Staying in many IHG properties, I can honestly say that this is not the normal experience. To be candid, I expected more from Kimpton. TV Channels (about 30% all were working). I also have sent a message to Marissa White and Ryan Parker in mid November after our stay and have not received any response. My family travels frequently and are loyal to IHG and its properties. Hotel Indigo, Intercontinental.. etc. In 2016-2018, we have stayed 200+ nights total. That being said, I’m not asking for any compensation but I do want to make you aware of the situation, and that I am leaving it to your hands to decide what should be done. 3 out of 5 stars.
