Hands down the best Mexican food place in Bend, in Central Oregon even. I’ve been to almost every Mexican food joint here in town and have left disappointed in the quality and flavor of their food. Tacos Pihuamo have amazing burritos and tacos not to mention their salsas! When a food place can make a good salsa, you know their food is going to be good. It’s a bummer they’re only open weekdays, but if you can make it when they’re open, you will not be disappointed.

Taqueria Amigo Chino – Menu with Prices – 5601 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago

Since I’ve only had tacos 3X’s in the last 3 days I was craving tacos again lol. Tonight is Monday we were driving by Taqueria Amigo Chino on the SW corner of Irving Park & Central Avenue and saw a sign from the Mexican Gods to go to Al Pastor Tacos for $1.39 on Mondays and Thursday. (or it could have been the sign on the window advertising it lol) So we pulled around the block and parked on Central a few doors from the restaurant. The restaurant was fairly busy (go figure for $1.39 Al Pastor tacos). Like most Mexican restaurants they brought us out an order of chips w/3 salsas. Both my wife and I ordered 3 Al Pastor tacos. I’m basing my review solely on the tacos. I’m surprised that Taqueria Amigo Chino is only rated 2 1/2 stars. The tacos that came to table were very good. They were loaded w/Al Pastor, onions & cilantro on 2 corn tortillas. The pork was very good w/a nice crispy texture. The service was good, good food w/street parking along Central Avenue. Remember Monday or Thursday for Al Pastor Tacos for $1.39

Los Arcos | Mexican Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1791 Marlow Rd #6, Santa Rosa

Popular place on the westside of Santa Rosa. Service was attentive. You choose salsas as you arrive at the salsa bar in disposable plastic cups…ugh. These green and red salsas were fine and served with chips. I had the chicken chimichanga and he had a chicken burrito. I actually had guacamole and pico de gallo served with mine, but he had no toppings. He said he loved the way Chipotle does their burritos. The meat is seasoned. That’s why we loved the Mexican place in Ukiah some much. Their burritos were very flavorful. We were spoiled in Colorado with great Mexican food in abundance and burritos there are smothered in green chile sauce with guacamole and sour cream. We’re not fans of pico, too many onions. However, this establishment does serve alcohol and has a variety of veggie and vegan options to choose from on their menu. So that’s good to know. The Los Arcos in Denver metro has very good food. It is a large restaurant with Mariachis. Every Mexican place we’ve been to here is a tiny place, which may fit 50 people. At any rate, we’ll keep trying to find that perfect place in Santa Rosa for Mexican food.

Tacos Pipeye – Menu with Prices – 217 N Milpas St #3281, Santa Barbara

HOMEMADE TORTILLAS. I honestly should stop my review there, because that’s really all you need to know to go. But if you are still reading and want to know more, know that Tacos Pipeye has a wide range of different meat and vegetarian options as well as a variety of other Mexican food classics (i.e. sopes, quesadillas, burritos, etc.). Oh did I mention it’s 6 TACOS FOR $10? What a steal. All three meats I tried – carnitas, asada, and barbacoa – were incredibly juicy, flavorful, and fresh. However, the carnitas were to die for; sweet and savory, they were cooked to perfection. The tacos come without dressings, so you’ll have to stop at the salsa bar to fix them up the way you like. Definitely make sure to try their creamy green salsa! Parking it somewhat of a struggle, but trust me it’s worth it. The dining area is small and designed more for quick eating, but they have tvs in case you don’t want to miss the game while you’re running to get food.

El Burrito Rico Menu with Prices 4404 River Rd, Amarillo

Great burritos and tacos! Growing up in El Paso I consider myself somewhat of a mexican food expert. I love burritos and tacos and there is no place in town I like better than El Burrito Rico. They have a wide selection of burritos and tacos including carne asada (my favorite), picadillo, chile verde, chile rojo, barbacoa, carnitas, pollo (chicken), al pastor, and even tongue (lengua). I roll with the asada and sometimes add guacamole. To die for. Their tacos have the same fillings but on soft corn tortillas. Delicioso. They have breakfast burritos as well and they don’t skimp on the portions. They come with two eggs, cheese, potatoes and your choice of bacon, ham or sausage. They have two salsas–a red and a green. I always order both because I just can’t choose one. They are both so good (I probably lean towards the green most days). They are located across the street from Pleasant Valley Elementary school in a bright yellow building. There is no indoor seating only drive-thru or walk-up but it is perfect for a fast breakfast or lunch on the go.

La Colonial Tortilla factory – Menu with Prices – 212 N Copia St, El Paso

Outstanding burritos and tortillas! My mouth is watering from thinking about their freshly made burritos and tortillas. These burritos and tortillas are probably some of the best in town. Their tortillas are light and fluffy, straight up perfection! My favorite burrito is the picadillo. The ground beef has a great flavor. It tastes even better when you add some red or green chile in it. Watch out, their burritos are on the small side so you might be able to eat two or three at a time. I’d like to try their chile relleno burrito but I haven’t yet. I’m also interested in trying their tostada chips and chile con queso. I hear La Colonial sells out of their burritos fast so you have to go by 9 or 10 am. You can also call in your order. There’s nowhere to sit so you’ll have to eat in your car or destination. Take some cash too. Aside from burritos, they have tamales, tostadas, tacos and the prepared masa to make tamales at home. They close by 2 pm on weekdays and they aren’t open on weekends. Imagine if they closed later and opened on weekends?

Tom’s Tacos – Menu with Prices – 4669 Torrance Blvd, Torrance

This is Tito’s Tacos from Culver City, but way smaller, less crowded, and more convenient for those in South Bay. CASH ONLY! CASH ONLY! Lots of parking. CASH ONLY! As I noted in my Tito’s Tacos review, I am not a huge fan of the tacos. However, I really dig Tom’s burritos ? The bean and cheese burrito in particular. I’ve tried the burrito with the meat, rice, etc. as well, but what it all comes down to in the end is that the beans are stellar (lard-tastic) and the cheese combines to make goodness. I usually get some of the liquid guac and salsa and combine it with the burritos for a little extra flavor, but they are good without too. The chips are decent, the burritos are definitely messy, the ordering experience is way easier than Tito’s, but the burritos (to me and my wife) are awesome. Looking forward to going back for some nostalgic flavor from the Culver City days ?

California Taco Shop – Menu with Prices – 890 Butler St, Pittsburgh

I JUST DIED AND WENT TO TACO HEAVEN! Seriously, California Taco Shop did not disappoint! Being a California native, I have been on the search for good Mexican that reminds me of home – well I found it! The tacos were amazing, the guacamole was fresh and light, the chicken was juicy and flavorful, the salsas were homemade and the perfect addition to all of the food. I loved the spice of the salsa rojo! As Mexican food lovers, my husband and I left so happy I can’t recommend them enough! If you want good authentic Mexican and you live in the Pittsburgh area – its a MUST! Staff was friendly, food was out quickly and hot, and reasonably priced. The restaurant is pretty small with just a few tables so order some tacos to go or head with a smaller group. Well done California Taco Shop! We’ll definitely be back!

Taqueria Los Primos – Menu with Prices – 4429 Troy Hwy, Montgomery

Ever since my first time hitting these real deal tacos, I’ve dined in at least once a week. Whether it’s their salsa, tacos, burritos, or pupusa I’ve yet to be less than blown away. I understand why my Texas born wife has always refused to eat what typically passes for “Mexican food” in Alabama. If you’ve yet to eat here, you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice.

Las Bracitas Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 6402 N Bartlett Ave, Laredo

The food is the best!!! tacos de lechuga if you want a healthy option with some bombbbbb fajita de pollo Or my Fav are the Tacos de Tripa! No one in Laredo makes tripa tacos like las bracitas they are not to crispy or too soggy just right and chopped up. The frijoles are also delicious And the salsas are very tasty I end up adding all three salsa to my tacos with cebolla asada They also have amazing aguas frescas i love the tamarindo and limon

Dos de Oros Taco Truck – Menu with Prices – 3310 S 24th St, Omaha

Picked up 15 burritos and 4 tacos from here on Sunday afternoon and everyone loved their food! I had 7 hungry guys working on my roof, and myself and a friend over for lunch … everyone had more than enough to eat. I had the tacos … 2 Lengua, 1 Asada and 1Pollo. With limes and 3 kinds of salsa. It was a really great meal! I don’t typically go for corn tortillas, if I have a choice, but everything about these tacos was perfect. The burritos were stuffed full and delicious. I can’t wait to pick up food from here again.

Pollos El Dorado – Menu with Prices – 5717 Merrill Ave, Las Vegas

Been looking for good Mexican food in Las Vegas, and it’s been tough. Coming from So-Cal we are a bit spoiled and love our Mexican restaurants. We stumbled upon this gem one day, skeptical but determined to find Vegas’s best Mexican restaurant. We did, Pollos El Dorado is hands down the best in Vegas and now in my top 3 of all time. No matter what protein you choose in any variation, weather it be sopes, tacos, burritos it’s all amazing. They grill their chicken in the parking lot over an open flame sending flavor filled smoke that you can smell from miles. I’m no exaggerating when I say all this, you must try this place.. it will keep you coming back. Thanks to Rafael, he was very informative and such a friendly guy. Really made our experience here that much better. Would have posted more pics but by the time we realized how good it was, the food was gone !!!

Taqueria Mexico – Menu with Prices – 13229 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove

I am solely basing this review on the individual who we encountered this evening who made our order incorrectly and refused to remake the order even after we told her we were allergic to beans. I had my daughter order 3 tacos and 3 burritos. Usually, the individual who is making our order will ask what we want on the item they are making at that very moment. As the woman was making the tacos, she asked my daughter if she wanted “everything” on the tacos to which my daughter said yes to. She makes the tacos but then proceeded to make the burritos with beans and hot salsa, which we did not want for all 3 burritos. When my daughter tells her that we didn’t want neither beans or hot salsa and that she didn’t even ask what we wanted them on the burritos, she argues and tells my daughter “sorry, you were standing right there for all this time and didn’t say anything and I can’t remake them”. UNBELIEVABLE. My daughter argues that she said yes to everything as she was making the tacos and didn’t ask before she made the burritos, which is typical practice at every single Mexican eatery and usually, the person making your order double-checks what you want item-by-item. The woman continued to flat-out refuse to redo our order (I’m sure it would come out of her paycheck if she had to) because I don’t see a reason other than that why she wouldn’t remake them, especially when we had $23 worth of wasted food that we had to toss in the trash because of food allergies and because this woman was absolutely rude and dismissive. I called this place to express our dissatisfaction to this woman that we encountered and she was not happy. I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with her so I asked to speak to the manager/owner and she starts raising her voice and yells repeatedly, “SORRY, LADY, SORRY, NO, NO, NO!”. She continues to say random things in Spanish because she’s upset and of course, because she knows I can’t understand her and so I tell her I don’t understand what she’s saying, so she proceeds to yell even louder and then hangs up on me. I tried to call back and it goes to voicemail and I leave a message that will surely be erased and/or not returned but that speaks volumes about the business if that’s the case. That woman does not need to be working in customer service. People are not easy to deal with and I understand that but refusing to redo our order when we are allergic to the ingredients that we didn’t ask for and not have any consideration for our time and money is upsetting. The unfortunate thing is, this has been our main go-to Mexican food joint for the past year since we moved to this city and every time we have picked up food from here, everyone is pleasant and we’ve had a positive experience each time until now. Lady, get a new job but maybe this is what your limited to and that’s why you’re such a miserable person. Maybe stick to something easier for you, like at a ticket counter or something where you don’t have to interact much with humans and you can be as robotic as you like, but I’m sure you would agree that up too somehow. You make this place look TERRIBLE. Such a shame.
