This is a rip off restaurant I have ever witness in my entire life, me and my wife came to this restaurant and the place was so empty, I about to get out but my wife said let’s try and see how the food is, since it was down the road where we lived at, so we came in and check this buffet food, and my wife said it look ok, so we start to sit down ad get the food, I order some ice tea and a waiter tell me he have no cold ice tea but I welcome to have a hot milk tea they already make in the thermal so I asked a waiter can I have some ice with that milk tea and he said ok, so we start to eat, and we got cold milk tea refill, at the end when I ask for a check, he charged me 4 ice milk tea at $3.99 per cup plus 2 refill together are 4, so $16.00 just for drink plus 2 person buffets, food are not that good, but you can not rip off every customer enter to your restaurant, you need to do a honest business in order to earn your honest living, to me I have a passion for Indian cuisine, I have traveled every state in this country just want to tried Indian food, but this is the most rip-off restaurant I have never witness in my entire life, you can only fool me once Dawat restaurant, no wonder you so empty when we was there. Not recommend for anyone this is a bad place.

Zaika Indian Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 4661 Centennial Blvd, Colorado Springs

My wife and I both enjoy spicy food and she does actually cook a few Indian dishes and she wanted to see how hers compared, so we decided to hit a yelp recommended Indian restaurant. Zika is a really nice space that is very clean and the servers were very courteous. We enjoyed two starters, Veggie Samosas and Momos, that were really tasty and reasonably priced. We are kind of done with the crazy prices for an appetizer that is only a bite, but not the are here. Decent amount for a reasonable price. Then came time to order our meal. We had been discussing what we would get so that we could each try a bit of the other. Chicken Vindaloo for my wife, while I had the Grilled Chicken Tikka. He fun part came when the waitress said how hot to you want the sauce. I asked the scale and she said 1-5 with 5 vein he hottest. We both enjoy spice but of course had more heat questions. Suffice to say I attempted to get my wife to order a 4 while I tried for a 3. We both settled on a 3 and when it came we were glad that was it. Everyone knows Indian food is hot, but you just don’t realize how hot. We both were surprised a 3 was that bad. Come to find out the waitress went with a 2 and thank goodness she did. All in all we liked the food and will definitely return after trying other types.

Indian Grill – Menu with Prices – 5800 North W Street #3, Pensacola

We went there on January 19th with the family. We walked in and immediately they pushed some tables together. The tables had paper on them as a covering. Always a clean table. It took the waiter a few minutes just to get our drink order. I was surprised they only had bottled or can soda. The bottle was $2.95 (a tad high), canned soda was a little less but 12 ounces. I went to order tea, only tea was in bottles. So, we all ordered water. Refills were hard to come by. I know how they keep their water bill low. They rarely come by to refill your glass. Now, in the restaurant biz they food wholesaler actually gives you the tea maker. You just buy the tea from them, which by the way is dirt cheap. Fountain soda is a pain and can get expensive when you have to purchase the syrup and co2 separately. So I’ll excuse them on the soft drinks. Tea though? No excuse. The appetizers we ordered were freshly made. All were fried well. The main entree I found to be oddly priced. They offer many different combinations of meat or vegetarian style. I’ve been to many Indian restaurants. The main dish comes with rice. Here the rice is an option, so there is an extra charge. SO the $9.95 price seems like a good deal until you add the $2.95 price for plain rice. They offer other styles of rice at a higher price. The servings are rather small for the price they charge. I did notice regulars coming into dine. They knew the waiter, they got to see him more than us. However, I won’t be returning. We visit Pensacola often since our children live there. We love Indian food, too bad this one doesn’t cut it.

isushi cafe midtown – Menu with Prices – 3301 NE 1st Ave #107, Miami

Went for lunch yesterday and ordered 3 sushi rolls – the shrimp tempura roll, the Miami Heat roll and the spicy salmon crunch roll. All were good and came relatively quickly. The Miami Heat roll was my favorite. We were seated quickly when we arrived but the waiter said that he was not notified of the Yelp check-in offer of free Sake and told us that the promotion had not started yet. I asked the waiter to check. Sometime after our foid was served, the waiter brought two shots of sake saying that he would give it to us but the promotion was not to start until next week. Strange because a Yelp check-in offer is not a promotion but a notification that a Yelper is in the house!! I guess the owner should educate his staff on what Yelp is. Lol!! We were going to order dessert but after clearing the table, the waiter took several minutes to come back with the check and we had to get back to work. While the food was good, the service was lacking, especially since the restaurant was empty when we arrived and there were only two other customers when we left.

The Last Stop – Menu with Prices – 5977 Broadway, The Bronx

This place is just really, really good. The location outside is semi-sketchy and loud (because of the elevated subway line running above Broadway, and it’s literally the last stop on the 1 train), but the food and the service were fantastic. The wife and I went one afternoon during happy hour to try the place out. Ended up having a great convo with the bartender/manager/son of the owner who explained everything: Indian parents; kids born and raised in NYC. Mom makes the sauces, and everything is super tasty. We got the butter chicken wings (a nod to the family’s Indian roots), cheeseburger sliders, and the chicken tikka masala flatbread (essentially a delicious pizza with Indian chicken on it). But this isn’t an indian restaurant — they have a ton of American-style grub, including chicken tenders, regular wings, quesadillas, tacos, salads and more. The beer in the rotating draft selection was cold and refreshing. I think they’ve been here about a year now and I sincerely hope they make a long run of it.

Nellai Banana Leaf – Menu with Prices – 4303 Transit Rd, Buffalo

This place will satisfy you if you know what to order. It is run by South Indians so unfortunately the regular north Indian dishes like paneer curries and naan won’t be very impressive (IMHO). Instead, go for the traditional south Indian food that you don’t get very often – appam, uthappam, dosas, vada. Appam hails from the state of Kerala in India and is one of the rare things I have been able to find in the Indian restaurants in the US. So this was a good opportunity for me to try it and I wasn’t disappointed. It is essentially a crepe made from ground up rice. It is made with coconut milk so that gives it a little bit of sweetness which I really enjoy. It’ll come with a kind of dip so you can mix up the slightly sweet and salty appam with the more flavorful chutney. We also got a set of 5 uthappams and a rava dosa both of which were pretty good. Uthappam is like a pancake (quite thick compared to dosa) and has different additions like coconut, tomatoes etc depending on what you order. Rava dosa is thinner and crispier than regular dosa, so go for it if that’s your style. They all came with 5 different types of chutneys and the service staff was kind enough to refill a couple for free when I asked for more. The ambience was pleasant and the service was good ( in and out in an hour) for a weekday dinner. It was nice to eat south Indian food outside for a change and the I would probably go back next time I crave an appam.

Taj Mahal Cuisine of India – Menu with Prices – 3939 Center Point Rd NE, Cedar Rapids

The best Indian food I have had in the USA. I (born and brought up in India, so I know authentic Indian food when I taste it) just moved to CR from California, and didn’t actually have any hope of finding good Indian food. But color me surprised to find the best Indian food I have had in the US. Only 2 words to describe the taste at this restaurant: Authentic and Delicious. I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants in the USA, but they all tone down not only the spice but also the flavor. But not here at Tajmahal! I was so happy to taste the authentic Indian taste in each and every item. The food isn’t too spicy but still ensures to be very flavorful, which is the sign of a really good Chef. The first bite that I took of the mutter paneer, took my tastebuds back to India. The food is just bursting with flavor and aroma . The goat curry was almost exactly the way my mom makes it in India. The chicken tandoor was very well cooked and the flavor went all the way to the bone. Most Indian restaurants (in the USA) won’t have south Indian cuisine, but I was delighted to find Dosa (sort of a crepe with spiced potato filling ) an authentic South Indian dish. The vegetarian dishes like chana masala and mutter paneer were 10/10. The mango lassi was brilliant, the perfect amount of mango, milk and sugar. Desserts: the mango ice cream was awesome and the gulab jamun were pretty good aswell. I have been there only a couple of times and that too for a buffet. I can only imagine how much more tasty the food would be when you order it off the menu and can ask them to make it according to your taste and choice. Pros: Great Food. Great service. Indian grocery store is right besides the restaurant. Cons: Ambiance of the place isn’t bad but it could be much better. I have also visited “Taste of India”, which has a much better ambiance (good food as well), but is no where near in terms of the REAL taste of India which you get at Tajmahal. I definitely plan to be a regular at this place and would suggest everyone to try the food at this small restaurant with a big heart !

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 15885 N Fwy, Fort Worth

If I could leave less stars I would! So here goes: I call ahead to inquire about call ahead seating. She says “we don’t do that, you have to do it online” perfect so I go online, check us in. We get to the restaurant and I tell her I checked in online. She says great you are 4th on the list. We are handed a flyer for half off wine while you wait. We go immediately to the bar. The flyer says half off wine, drafts, and bottled beer. So, we ordered a bottled beer. The MANAGER tells us that those aren’t half off and only drafts are half off. So I changed my beer order to a draft beer. She brings it to me and then says “omg I’m so sorry that was a knowledge mistake on my part. I’ll charge you for the one you originally ordered”. But did we get the original? No. Oh well. Moving on… we wait… we wait… My wife drinks her wine… I watch the ENTIRE lobby of people get seated. I TURN AROUND FULLY in my bar sets and watch the hostess seat a BRAND NEW family immediately from outside. So my wife took the pager up there and start tapping my pager on her hostess stand. She comes up and looks at it and says “oh, is it going off??” Me: “no I just wanted to check my place in line because I was fourth but apparently all the new people from the outside universe somehow had priority before me and got seated just now”. She goes immediately to her screen, does not apologize and says “there is no waitlist”. ***** I AM THE ****ING WAITLIST!!! So I angrily repeat what I said about having a pager and going to the bar… her assistant comes up and says “oh I cleared you…” WHAT. THE ACTUAL ****?!!?! So then they say… we need you to wait so we can find a table. So we finally get seated. The lady brings us only 3 breadsticks and took more than 15 minutes to bring my wife another wine. So we order food. We wait. We wait. We wait. We wait. She finally comes back and says “y’all had your food already??” Me: “no ma’am. No food. Did I stick the pasta in my pockets!?” So she runs back to “check it”. Comes back with the detest spaghetti noodles I’ve ever encountered in my life. Then. Then. The icing on the bleeping cake… did not come back to check on me for 15 minutes and I was waiting on breadsticks. Overall the worst experience we have ever had at an Olive Garden!!!

Louisiana Crab Shack Menu with Prices 3208 Guadalupe St, Austin

My wife was reluctant to go check out the Louisiana Crab Shack. Always listen to your lovely wife. * * * At a Cajun seafood place, you care primarily about the steamed seafood in a bag with cajun spices and the fried seafood. I am on a health kick, so I had my fried shrimp on top of a salad. I also had gumbo to check for Louisiana bona fides. The love of my life had salmon with a cajun topping. * * * Poetic justice ruled. My wife had the best dish of the three. Her salmon was good on its own and had a savory not-at-all spicy sauce on top heavy on onions and cooked down vegetables. She gave a big thumbs up. I did not do as well. The gumbo was okay. The fried shrimp on my salad began to leave a bad taste in my mouth after about the sixth shrimp. The bad taste persisted for about fifteen minutes after we left the restaurant. The shrimp themselves were normal. No thrills there but no problems either. I think there was something not great involved in the frying. * * * The seafood in a bag may be wonderful. I can’t say. But I get a lot of cajun seafood in College Station. In those places, the bag food is marvelous and so is the frying. This place may settle down over time. I reviewed it when they were only four weeks old. The new waiter was struggling with the computer used for the orders. A new cook may have been struggling with the fryer. * * * I doubt however, I will be going back soon. I will be eating in all the places my wife wants to eat For about the next five hundred years.

K’s House Grill & BBQ – Menu with Prices – K’s House, 320 Singleton Blvd #100, Dallas

I hate to leave this review because the food was so good, but sometimes the service is just that BAD. I’ll also add that I rarely if ever leave bad Yelp reviews. After we sat down, a middle aged waitress gruffly slammed our waters down and then stormed off as I opened my mouth to order a Coors Light. She dismissed me with a “yes” and a wave as she tended to another table and then returned to grace me so she could get my drink order. 20 minutes passed and the haggard older waitress never returned (probably a good thing). A nicely dressed woman (who was probably the manager or owner) was actually nice to us and came over to get our food order. Food was great! But guess what? Our appetizer arrived another 20 minutes after the main course. We wanted to get dessert, and a nice younger waiter discouraged us from ordering dessert at this establishment. We were so confused but appreciated his honesty. Then, 45 minutes passed and no one came by to check in on us or give us our check. We had no choice but to flag down the old woman who was initially rude to us, but we still didn’t get our check. Then, we had to flag down another young waiter who brought me the check and had added an additional $47 charge for food we never ordered or consumed!!! We had to wait for that to get removed and once taken care of I had never been so happy to leave a restaurant in my life… I’m an attorney who was dining out with a fellow attorney friend and this restaurant missed out on an opportunity for our future business. I will be discouraging my friends and family from visiting this establishment either.

Legends at Bennett Valley Events – Menu with Prices – 3328 Yulupa Ave, Santa Rosa

Zero Stars. Yes you heard right. Zero. Mother’s Day at Legends was the worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. Our son took my wife and I for Mother’s day. First of all when he made the reservation, no one mentioned that it was a special mother’s day brunch. They told him that they only had 9 am available. We got up early on Sunday, Mother’s day holiday to get to breakfast. We all arrived to find out there were plenty of other empty tables we could have arrived much later. The room was cold and the tables had absolutely nothing on them. No table settings ,water , flowers etc.. completely bare. We sat down and a waiter comes up to us and says. Can I get you a drink. We ordered orange juice, mimosas. Then he says to us to “go get your food “. Crazy. ..we all return and start to eat. Scrambled eggs were cold, potatoes were cold, the sausages were hard, the waffles were hard. The kids had to use a knife to cut the waffles. The orange juice tasted like it was watered down..prime rib sucked.and they had the audacity to charge almost $40.00 a head. Legends,. Please if you can’t pull off a buffet.. Don’t try to do it. Also let people know when they make a reservation that it has a special menu that day. We just wanted a normal breakfast. We feel totally ripped off.. get it together Legends.

London Curry House Menu with Prices 4906 Brenman Park Dr, Alexandria

We came across London Curry House because we saw a sign outside of the little neighborhood where it sits while we were on our way to get oil change in Alexandria. After our oil change, we decided to check it out! The place opens at 12 pm on Sundays and we were a bit early so we grabbed some cappuccinos at the coffee shop across the street. We came back at noon on the dot to the restaurant and it was funny because I literally thought I’m that crazy doorbuster person during Black Friday sales lol! We were the first customer in the restaurant and I love that! The aroma of the place smelled so good as they had just laid out their food for the lunch buffet and the kitchen has some type of an open kitchen layout which I actually like. The place has an amazing decor, very stylish and modern but at the same time very cultured and authentic. It’s got some cute decor such as the London red phone booths (they don’t open btw so don’t try lol) and the little sign that says the restaurant name on a sign that is commonly found in the London tube stations! I love those London touches, it reminded me of my time in London! I ordered an Aperol spritz (of course duh) and it was yummy! The server was super nice and he was so helpful. The service here is just amazing. He spoke to us for a little bit asking us if we are familiar with Indian food and we told him about our experience of Indian food in London and we had a great conversation with him! We did walk into the place in our workout outfits so he thought we were there for the lunch buffet! I don’t blame him, we were underdressed lol. We decided not to do the lunch buffet because buffets are just not my thing. I have been meaning to try chicken biryani cooked in a pot with the dough on the top so I looked on the menu and unfortunately, it wasn’t there. However they had the Goat Dum Biryani. I don’t really like goat for one personal reason (I watched my pet billy goat die in front of my young eyes when I was growing up in the Philippines so I can’t eat goat forever), so I asked the server if I can get the dum biryani in chicken and he said YES! I was so excited to finally try the biryani cooked with the dough on top! My chicken biryani came in this cute bowl covered in dough and it was steaming out and the dough was baked to the golden perfection it was! I was drooling at this point! My bf always copies me so he got the goat biryani one. The other server opened up the dough to release the smoke and the biryani inside and I legit died inside. I died in Indian food heaven. It was so amazing to just witness the server cut open the biryani, like that’s so freaking cool! The biryani itself was so yummy and the flavor was amazing! The chicken was tender and the spice was not overwhelming. I also ate the dough on top of it and it was crispy and it was like a thin baked naan! My bf enjoyed the food so much he finished the whole bowl of his goat biryani! The bowl is definitely good for 2 people and we ordered 2 so we had leftovers! We definitely loved this gem that we found! I’m never really a fan of Indian food because I always find that the spices are too overwhelming for my palette (except when we were in London, UK when I had the best Indian food in my life) but this place is certainly comparable to the Indian food in London! We will come back here again and take friends and family with us for sure. We are already planning on renting out the large room that can fit up to 25 people for a birthday party! One thing I also love is that not everyone in the table has to do the buffet so if you want a regular item from the regular menu, you can do that. And whoever is with you that want to do buffet, they can do buffet as well! Service was great and there was no issue with parking spaces!

Tadka Indian Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 5290 Arapahoe Ave B, Boulder

Do NOT ENTER – Run the other way. Go to Taco Bell instead! Seriously. You will be way more satisfied. I am saying this as an Indian-American woman who also had an Indian-American dinner companion. We went to this restaurant for dinner a couple months ago. We were so hungry and seeing several vegan and vegetarian options on the menu, we ordered and eagerly awaited our Baigan Bharta and Tofu Saag with rice and parathas. The man taking our order (owner/manager?) had asked us if we wanted our food to be mild, medium, or spicy. We said “medium”. And in Indian restaurants throughout the US, Indians taking orders from Indian customers who say “medium” know exactly what that means. Well we get our food – not the best presentation – but oh well – we were so hungry and we dug in. To our great disappointment our tongues had to experience the most tasteless, bland food ever (not just compared to other Indian restaurants – compared to any other restaurant). It was so not eatable – not properly cooked, not properly spiced. When the man who too our order came by, we asked if there was a mix-up as we had clearly said we wanted a “medium” spiced dish and what we had was less than “mild”. He then has the gall to say to me, “I gave you American “medium” that is why it is not spicy.” Huh????? I mean I’ve been to Indian restaurants in California, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland,……etc. etc. I have never heard that before. As he is talking, his wife walks over to see what was going on. We explain in Hindi how we expected the food to have some spiciness at least. Without asking us what solution we want, she scoops up the dishes and says she can fix them. She goes back and attempts to “fix” them – but when she returns, she stands over us as we each try some – it is still the most awful food ever. We just left the remaining food on the table as is and asked for our bill. Neither the man nor the woman asked to give us a discount or offer any other solution. Like the other reviewer wrote, “terrible food and horrible staff”. Just awful. The worst experience I’ve had ever at a restaurant in recent memory. The people running this place have no idea what good food is nor do they have any business sense!
