Every time I enter this establishment, I always ask myself, “why do I doing this to myself?”. And without fail, this place always makes me feel much worse than I felt before I entered. Overall, the reason for the low rating is that the amount of cons severely outweigh the number of pros. To start, upon entering Tap House, it’s interior gives off a bad impression. Maybe due to the age of the building, but the whole place looks run down and poorly maintained. Looking past the interior when ordering, in all the times i’ve been here, I have never once seen any of the employees focused on the job. Even during peak hours, most of the time they’re either on their phones or studying. While waiting for our food, Lucy and I played Connect 4. While in the beginning, the games were new, after a while, they got beat up, broken and dirty. When the food came, everything was fast and efficient, but shortly after we finished eating, we both simultaneously started feeling queasy The worst part are the numerous rumors I have heard of health code violations. While I haven’t personally confirmed anything that breaks the code, through word of mouth, I hear mention of cockroaches in the kitchen. Although not something to take heavily, the appearance of the interior brings credibility to this rumor. Looking past all these negatives, when in a hurry, Tap House is one of the best establishments to get milk tea on the quick and cheap. It serves as a local hang out spot for a lot of friends and most of the time feels energetic and lively. -Jon

Midnight Taco – Menu with Prices – 339 N Gilbert Rd, Gilbert

The food was pretty good not the worst I’ve had in Arizona but also not the best! I got a burrito. The reason for the lack of stars is because they seem to be very dirty and have little respect for health codes. While sitting there waiting to order, I watched the cook do at least 5 different things that are health violations. There was no hand washing site available in sight so I can’t imagine they wash their hands before handing food. If you are okay with people being gross while handling youre food, then you’re fine to eat here but if you’re like me and notice everything health related, it will make you sick to your stomach… The cook was sitting on a dirty bucket texting on his phone (he scratched at his nose and head a couple times) and after I order he popped up, threw some gloves on and started touching everything. Just because you put gloves on doesn’t mean you’re being clean…. I tried this place to try it, but I can say with certainty that I’ll never be back

Tony’s Cones & Coneys – Menu with Prices – 2330 W Laskey Rd, Toledo

We started coming here to support local business and because the ice cream is honestly delicious. Last night there was a decent line when we got there, 9 people ahead of us. It seemed like there was a lot of socialization between the owner and the people at the window that made it take longer. The owner then came out the side door and invited the family ahead of us inside the shop and they got ice cream ahead of people that had been waiting longer than them. At this point the couple behind us left. When we saw the little girl running around the area where ice cream is prepared and eating her ice cream in the window where you order we decided to leave. Besides the obvious health code violations, it was unprofessional and inconsiderate of the owner. We won’t be back.

Taco & Burrito Palace – Menu with Prices – 3507 N Halsted St, Chicago

Health Code Violation / Intentional Food Poisoning Ordered carne asada and stated 3 times no butter, no cheese and no sour cream as I’m allergic to dairy. Cashier stated and confirmed he wrote it down and got it. Got to-go order and there was cheese sprinkled throughout the meal and beans. Expeditor was upset when I asked for meal and beans with no cheese. Cashier confirmed I ordered with no cheese. Expeditor scopes out the beans from my to go box and placed them with the cheese back in the main bean pot. Then proceeded to scoop them, same beans, out again with cheese and place in my container. I told him I saw what he did and another chef grabbed the box and put it aside. Took everything out and then went to put the same beans in with cheese. Told him no beans because the cheese was mixed in with all the beans. It’s upsetting that this establishment and its workers are intentionally trying to make people sick, especially them food poisoning . I have since reported their intentional food poisoning to the Chicago Department of Public Health.

Saddle Rock Grill Menu with Prices 21705 E Arapahoe Rd #B, Aurora

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Came here on Mother’s Day last week for the first time. Our reserved table had folding patio chairs and there were spots all over the table cloth. Our waitress brought us waters in blue Solo cups and would not stop grabbing the rim of the glass where you put your mouth to drink. I asked for a straw and she brought over one but IT WAS NOT WRAPPED AND SHE DIDNT PICK THEM UP WITH NAPKINS! Holy health code violations. Even the coffee that had a handle was picked up by the rim right after she bussed a table with dirty dishes. I was appalled. The food was awful- cold eggs, sausage, pancakes, etc. The pastries and fruit were straight up Costco or King Soopers. THE HANDLES FOR THE FOOD THAT EVERYONE WAS TOUCHING WERE LAYING INSIDE THE CHAFFING DISHES IN THE FOOD! Each person was $26. Who is this place fooling?! First and last time here. Will never return in a million years. I was embarrassed that I took my mom here for Mother’s Day. Stick to being a bar and don’t even attempt food service. Especially for those prices.

Crazy Fire Mongolian Grill – Menu with Prices – 1800 Skibo Rd, Fayetteville

The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is: (1) for the creativity aspect and (2) for the service. It’s an interesting concept to allow customers to create and craft their own dishes with absolute freedom. However, this is a double edged sword as most people have absolutely no idea how to prepare their own meals with this level of sophistication. Also, when busy, it’ll take up to 30 minutes before you can actually get your meal cooked for you. The service was friendly, kind, and accommodating. There is no doubt in my mind that there are health code violations all over this place. I would highly recommend against this place unless you know how to cook very well and the place is empty. Only if those 2 criteria are met should one come to this restaurant.

409 South Main Events – Menu with Prices – 409 S Main St 3rd floor, Memphis

This place had such potential, however it has not been recognized to this date. This place claims to be a food hall, but has only had a few vendors over the entire past year of being open… and several of those vendors left within months of building out their spaces… not sure why they left so quickly, but the fact that they did, alludes to an internal management issue perhaps… or maybe they just couldn’t make money considering the place looks closed most of the time. Aside from the fact that it has no real signage out front or hardly any indication of being open at all on most days… often times the lights are either turned off or dimmed down to the point where you can NOT tell from the outside that it’s even open at all. I personally believe in conserving energy or utilities… but at the very least they could put up a neon OPEN sign or something to indicate that they are open for business. Regardless of these issues, I believe in supporting local businesses and I actually come here 2 to 3 days a week… to drink in the evenings at the Civil Pour(which makes a bad ass Pisco Sour btw) and to have coffee at Java Cabana West(who makes my favorite mocha in all of Memphis)… and to work, while i enjoy the atmosphere of downtown Memphis on a comfy couch with my computer in my lap. Gosh this place had such potential… it’s so sad. Over the year I’ve noticed that most of the vendors are NOT open, even in the middle of the day… i just don’t understand the concept of a food hall with very few vendors in the first place and no one open…honestly, if it weren’t for Java Cabana West being here, I’d have nothing to drink or even munch on… at least they offer some yummy snacks and an iced coffee. This week, new more ridiculous developments… now they have major construction happening in the middle of the day, while the food hall is supposed to be open… yet here it is at 1040am on a weekday and I’d love to get some lunch… yet no one is open and there is the offensive sounds of drills and saws constantly roaring through the air. Health code violation? Extremely bothersome environment today, why would they do this in the middle of the day? Not much about this food hall at 409 s.Main is making sense. The concept seemed to be on point, but the ppl in charge here have a clear inability to bring this to fruition. I feel so badly for the vendors here, who are no doubt financially struggling in this environment and I just really hate to see them all closed in the middle of the day and losing money for fear of health code violations, considering the construction going on around them during the middle of what should be a financially rewarding work day. Not only are vendors…many small businesses… enduring the cost of paying employees to work in this deplorable environment but also leaking revenue due to these negligent choices by food hall management. Very disappointing!

Señor Alberto Mexican Food – Menu with Prices – 650 Douglas Dr, Oceanside

****Multiple Health Code Violations**** To see how far this gets… as of 12/15/17 I was detained by the OPD due to Jose the business owner treating me as if I didn’t pay for food and even tipped 120% as a gesture for quality service. Not being able to use the restroom as a paying customer is the establishments problem. Although he says and thinks other wise**** Toilet overflowed with trash, toilet paper and toilet water on the floor. S-“I need to use the restroom” Jose says, “give me an hour” S-“an hour? My food will be cold, why can I not use the other restroom?” Jose-“out of service” S-“that’s a problem” Jose-“not my problem” S-” I want my money back” He gave my money back I then proceeded to take out of the tip jar what I had given to them in regards to prompt service… Jose-picked up the phone to call the police and said I was robbing him… OPD responded to which they embarrassed me by detaining me and had me blow into a breathalyzer saying I was acting disorderly… Wait WHAT?!?!? That’s crazy, right! It Happened.

Waffle House – Menu with Prices – 3907 Arkwright Rd, Macon

This is one of the best Waffle House locations that I’ve ever visited! Everyone was friendly and accommodating if not just a little slow on the service and the refills initially. In addition, one of our two orders was just a little off. However, the restaurant was wonderfully clean and the cook came by personally to ensure that our order was correct. Our waitress also definitely picked up the speed of service to the point where at the end of the meal, we were offered several refills – even as we were obviously done and just sitting, finishing our conversation This is definitely something that I’ve never experienced at a Waffle House before! The bottom line is that this is a Waffle House and often you’re not going to get the same service that you would at a 5 Star Restaurant that costs 5 times as much, requires advance reservations and a dress code. With that said, this is one of the better Waffle House locations that I’ve been to and I will definitely be back!

Late Nite Macon – Menu with Prices – 420 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Macon

What ridiculousness is this… ???? Dress code is obviously incorrect on Facebook and Instagram. Was dressed accordingly to the “DRESS CODE” when my boyfriend and I entered the “club” I got turned away for not dressing to the dress code for that particular night (drag nite) was offered to buy one of these Salvation Army , dumpster diving collard shirts!!!! If I did the bouncer would let me in. Also said my pants aren’t up to dress code standards (ZARA DRESS PANTS) With a dressy (ZARA) sweater. What foolery If you are going to change your dress code at least post it on social media. As a downtown Macon resident, I would not recommend this place. Don’t waste your time. What is this Beverly Hills???

Fit4u Healthy Food & More – Menu with Prices – 13925 SW 66th St, Miami

Absolute worst meal prep company I have ever ordered from. If I could give 0 stars I would. The man who handles the delivery and I assume preparation of the meals was extremely rude. I texted (the number on the website) him my order which he confirmed and when the meal was delivered it was all wrong. I called and he argued with me that the meals were not incorrect even though it was in writing and he confirmed the order. I emailed and texted him twice the address to my house and asked him to please deliver it to my work (which I also provided the address for) if the meal was not going to be delivered by 8 AM because no one was going to be home to bring the meal inside my house. The driver showed up at my house anyways at 10 AM. When he finally arrived to my job it was 1:30 PM although I only work 15 minutes away from home. The man I spoke to on the phone also argued with me that the address to my job doesn’t exist. 3 meals were also delivered to me at once when the website says they deliver daily. When I told him that, he said that wasn’t true, they only deliver twice a week. I asked for a refund and he refused to give me ANY refund although the website specifically says that they give a partial refund. I screen shotted the website, he read my texts (according to read receipts) and ignored them. I will never order from here again and I will never recommend this place to anyone.
