Revamped selection of brews, including sour ale, and cider. More higher quality choices now than there was when they opened…I think they might have a barrel aged ale and hard kombucha too? I dont remember– but I do recall seeing some excellent ales on tap. With 5 unique food carts, this place is a foodie’s playground! Nice indoor seating incase you were wondering. They have a Wubba’s BBQ, Jerk Kings, We’re the Würst, Red Road Pizza, and Hogan’s Hogie Stop– which is my absolute favorite! The sandwich guy at Hogan’s understands hoagie science, so I highly recommend that whatever you order, you get it the way he makes it. All the ingredients are well thought out and perfectly proportionate on each sammy…they all pair well with a Crux pilsner. Sorry, I haven’t taken any pictures of the trucks yet– the weather has been bad lately so I couldn’t get any flattering shots. I did manage to snap a shot of “the Murray” from Hogan’s Hogie Stop, along with their menu. I love this place, cheers!

Jay’ Original Hoagies – Menu with Prices – 8988 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa

Being new to Tulsa I use Yelp to recommend new places to eat. Sandwiches are me of my favorite meals, so I pulled up Yelp and searched for “Sandwiches.” First to pop up (closet to where I was) was Jay’s Original Hoagies. I’ve never had a sandwich on a Hoagie before so I thought I would give it a try. Upon entering the store, I pass a man holding the door open for me that was leaving with a smile, and ending his conversation with the guy behind the counter. Immediately I felt welcomed, and just at ease. Come to find out, the guy behind the counter was Jay. He asked me what I would like, I answered I wasn’t sure as I’ve never been in before. He suggested the Italian, as it was the #1 seller. We engaged in conversation, while he asked me what I would like on the sandwich. I just answer everything, he explains what comes in it and I say sure. Peppers being one of those items, I decide to go ahead and try it as I wanted to try his hoagie sandwich as it’s served. I’m so glad I did. This sandwich was absolutely perfect. The best bread to veggies/meat ratio ever. Most sandwiches I feel have to much bread where you don’t get to really enjoy the meats and veggies. Also the sauces on the Italian did not make the bread soggy or leak to make a sloppy sandwich. I definitely will be back and recommend this place… I wish you had a loyalty programâ?¼

The Daily Grind – Menu with Prices – 1 SE 9th St #102, Evansville

The Daily Grind is a bonus to the downtown Evansville. I always order an Americano and The Daily has out done Starbucks which an added touch by giving it a long shot….delicious! And by the way, you gotta have the chefâ??s homemade biscuit sausage sandwich. Who would have ever thought of having a gourmet breakfast sandwich and the American complements as a pair. At lunch, which they close at 2p, I highly recommend the perfectly brewed ice tea, which is not to sweet or bitter, paired with the most delicious chicken salad croissant I ever had.

Crux Fermentation Project Menu with Prices 50 SW Division St, Bend

If you are visiting Bend and you have every intention of checking out breweries while you are in town, Crux Fermentation Project must be on your list! Not only is it a relaxed, open atmosphere, it is especially family friendly. My husband and I, and our two little kids stopped by for some light food and beer and couldn’t have been happier! It’s a beautiful spot especially for a sunny summer day and the huge open grass area is very entertaining for kids and dogs. The venue has a bonfire and even corn hole set up for everyone to enjoy. The outdoor space was definitely my favorite because of the huge lawn area. Bring a blanket and make a picnic out of it! The afternoon we were there, there were also 2 food trucks which were super convenient. We ordered food from them, but ordered 2 flights of beer from Crux’s main bar inside. The flights were delicious and the service was very friendly and fast! I easily get discouraged with breweries that are too tight, loud and enclosed. Crux is the perfect venue for young families like mine that need space for toddlers to run off their energy. I definitely recommend it to everyone and plan on coming back again next time I’m in Bend!

Taqueria Los Tetillas Menu with Prices 15220 SE 37th St #1731, Bellevue

For lunch, my Director of Sales bought me a Traditional Beef Torta from Los Tetillas. Unraveling the sandwich from the tin-foil & taking in the presentation, you can’t help but feel like you are about to eat a football. Taking a bite into the torta, you can taste all of the ingredients, which includes the toasted hoagie with your choice of meat, mayonnaise, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, & jalapeño’s. Which is important when eating a sandwich because you want to be able to distinguish each ingredient that is used to create the sandwich. Otherwise there’s no perfect harmony with a sandwich that you can’t distinguish what ingredients was used to make it. The only gripe I have with this meal is that I felt the refried beans did not really compliment with all of the other ingredients. I found it a bit off-putting in terms with everything else, which held this back from being a perfect meal. Did not quite make the play offs for me, but it still made the touchdown.

Rocchio’s Italian Deli – Menu with Prices – 1408 Potomac Ave, Pittsburgh

Stumbled across this cute deli while walking in Dormont today. What a great find!!! We had been talking about what to eat for dinner so this was perfect timing. We ordered an americano hoagie, a Rocchio hoagie, a hot sausage hoagie, a vegiano hoagie and 2 meatballs with cheese. We couldn’t wait for dinner to try the meatballs … they smelled so delicious & they didn’t disappoint!!! They were seriously so tasty!!! The hoagies are made on Mancinis rolls with boars head products and are really good. I’m saving the veggie hoagie for lunch tomorro but after eating all the other food, I’m positive it will be scrumptious!! Bison chili was on the menu today … omg! Soooo good!!!! I’m looking forward to the next time pepperoni rolls will be on the menu as I’ll be running up to buy one , or two!! They also have some canned items to pick up. We got a jar of olive bruschetta. Also served up is gelato. I sampled death by chocolate….. I could have eaten the whole tub of it!! The owner was there and she was super nice. Chatted with us for a while. It just felt so warm and personable to be in there. Next time you’re in dormont , stop in. Or it’s worth a trip to take!

Totally Baked – Menu with Prices – 348 Jefferson St, Savannah

This place is rather new and I had a 1/2 hour to kill while I was waiting for someone nearby so I thought I would stop in a give it a try. It was lunch time and no one else was there so I did wonder about that. I ordered a “Great Dane” which is roast beef with some unique cheese and on marble rye. It was super good. This was a very fine sandwich and it hit the spot perfectly. After tasting the food I hope more people try this place as it is very good and I don’t think many people know about it. The owner was there and he told me he has another more well established restaurant around the corner. He was very friendly. It is small place but very suitable to sit down and have a sandwich with 3 to 4 people. It may be more designed for take out and grab and go. They also sell deli meat by the pound which I will try. One of my new favorite places. If you like deli sandwiches this is your place. Reminds me a bit of NY or NJ deli with a Savannah funky twist. I recommend it!

Penne For Your Thoughts – Menu with Prices – 2042 Town Center Blvd #177, Knoxville

I really don’t want to call ” Penne for Your Thoughts” a food truck. The food is easily on par with several fine dining Italian restaurants. The quality of the food served is superior to what most people consider “food truck dining.” If you dine here, you must order the Fried Ravioli. The Fried Ravioli makes an excellent appetizer and you will find yourself ordering it on every return visit. I also highly recommend the Chicken Parmesan sandwich. It’s topped with red sauce and sits on a bed of pesto, which I think is genius. I have never had Chicken Parmesan with pesto before and will always seek that option, from now on. Additionally, I have sampled their Waffle Fries with Parmesan and also recommend giving them a try. There is one suggestion I would make. I think they should offer a side order of their Waffle Fries with their Chicken Parmesan Sandwich, as an option. They would pair well and their current pricing structure forces anyone who would like to enjoy Waffle Fries with their sandwich to pay a full appetizer price instead of an up-charge, for a smaller portion. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes fine Italian food. You won’t be disappointed!

P & S Ravioli Co – Menu with Prices – 4726, 1722 W Oregon Ave, Philadelphia

This is probably the best hoagie I’ve ever had. Quality meats, quality rolls friendly fast service. This will be my go to hoagie shop for now on. They take credit/debit cards as well which is helpful for those of us that never seem to have cash on hand when we’re hungry.

Michealangelo’s Pizza and Pasta – Menu with Prices – 700 Locust St, Des Moines

I had a chance to order Sammies in today so I choose a couple items off their menu. Iowegian Bacon, ham, turkey, cheese (?), pickles, mustard, on a pressed hoagie roll. Big Beefy Roast beef, cheese (Swiss I think), roasted mushrooms, peppers, onions, on a hoagie roll. Both sandwiches were very good. The Iowegian was reminiscent of a Cuban and had a nice smokey flavor to the meat. Each component complimented another. You may wonder why I noted the cheese with a question mark… I think it had cheese on it, but it didn’t really stand out and I couldn’t find an online menu to verify everything. The Big Beefy isn’t exactly what I would call BIG, but it was good. Once again a well put together sandwich. I wasn’t fond of the to go packaging with this one… The wax paper and cheese were hard to separate and one kind of blended in with the other. I can’t knock it for taste though. The au jus worked well with the sandwich. It was kind of a Philly/Italian beef hybrid. Kudos for putting their own spin on each sandwich. Make sure you load up on napkins… Neither sandwich came out of the packaging clean. Definitely not something to try to eat in the car while you’re driving. Each sandwich was in the between $7.50 and $8.00 range. Were they worth it? They were. They had that straight out of the kitchen feel to them. Not a processed meat assembly line feel.

Mr. Zub’s Deli Menu with Prices 795 W Market St, Akron

First time visiting this Highland Square staple. Admittedly, I didn’t know the first thing about it. I assumed it was a typical sub place, along the lines of Jimmy Johns/Penn Station/Subway etc. When i got there, I quickly realized it was more of a sit down kind of place, with a bar. They have an order counter, and then they bring your food out to you. I was in a bit of a rush, so I just ordered to-go at the counter. The only slight downside to this place, was it took forever to get my one sandwich. Ordered at 12:45, and didn’t get it till 1:07. I feel like 22 minutes for a to-go sandwich is way too long. With that being said, I came in thinking it was more carry out friendly, so it’s partially my fault for not knowing that it wasn’t. So what did I get? The Philly Cheesesteak. I think it was called the Rocky Balboa. Came with your standard fair: steak, hoagie, cheese and onions. The nice young lady taking my order suggested I add mushrooms. I concurred. So how was it? If we’re keeping up on the Rocky theme, it was a knockout. Fresh hoagie roll, packed with juicy, lean steak. Gooey melty cheese, and perfectly done onions and mushrooms. A slather of mayo to top it off. One of the better Philly cheesesteaks I’ve ever had to be honest. At $8.99, it kinda felt like a steal. Great value for what you get. I think the girl behind the counter felt bad my order took as long as it did. She was very apologetic. And lo and behold, I found a brownie in my sub box. One of the sweetest “we’re sorry” treats ever! TO SUM IT UP: the food is awesome sauce, the service is very hipster cool, but don’t come in if you’re in a hurry. If you’ve got time, i can think of no better place for a casual, relaxed sammy.

The Chef Case – Menu with Prices – 600 E 2nd St, Dayton

If you’re at the 2nd Street Market, you have to stop and order at The Chef Case. The food is amazing. I’m a big fan of deli sandwiches and this place is head and shoulders above any place else I’ve tried in Dayton (and I have quite a few favorite delis). Everything is made fresh and your sandwich is made to order (Chef Joe is right there creating your order as you watch). I had the Italian and all I can say is WOW! It literally carpet-bombed my mouth with flavor. Not to mention I couldn’t even finish the whole thing. The portions are gargantuan. There are also a variety of deli salads available. My friend and I shared one (I don’t remember which one she ordered) and it was amazing. I was actually taken aback by how complex the flavors were. Typically, as a matter of personal preference, I am not a fan of deli salads. But if they were all like this, I definitely would have a change of heart. I plan on ordering a deli salad side every time I visit The Chef Case. They also offer unique, freshly made beverages. Definitely try one when you order. My favorite thing about The Chef Case is that the food is all fresh, locally grown, and organic. And it absolutely makes a difference. The high quality of the ingredients very much add to the experience. Any chef worth his/her weight uses only the finest and freshest ingredients. Chef Joe is no exception to this rule. The Chef case isn’t your typical stop-and-stuff-your-face deli counter. It is more than just fantastic food, it is an experience. This is the food that people who know quality food eat. I will definitely frequent The Chef Case. And as an added bonus, it is located at the 2nd Street Market so you can shop for your organic produce and meats while you are there (or in my case on of the giant 2ft. pretzels). I offer only one warning: you will never be satisfied making your own sandwiches ever again.
