I love FLC! I appreciate the way we build fluency through culturally relevant conversation topics, French film, and current events. The curriculum is dynamic and well paced, and the class size is ideal. Skillful teachers and native speakers–Kristine and Clem are the best–present a nuanced learning experience, and I am grateful for the fun, low-pressure environment they create. The community is very supportive, so there isn’t much self-consciousness in class. The supplementary events make FLC an even greater value! Elizabeth, Sharnicia, and team offer an amazing service to Austin, and I’m proud to support this local business. I’ve already signed up for another session and am sure my proficiency will continue to improve–helping me to engage in French more confidently, professionally and socially!

Third Coast Coffee Menu with Prices 4402 S Congress Ave #109, Austin

Austin still promotes itself as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” but I’ve been living here a while now, and I’ll tell you exactly what we’re good at: 1. Austin is the “Live Food Truck Capital of the World.” 2. Austin is the “Live Whole Foods Capital of the World.” 3. Austin is the “Live Texans-who-eat-BBQ-but-vote-Democrat Capital of the World.” Oh yeah, and maybe one more: Austin is the “Live Coffee Roasting Capital of the World.” Seattle & San Francisco may have more boutique roasters, but they’re not capitals & grunge is so 1990. If you’ve had a really good cup of coffee from an Austin coffeehouse or hipster restaurant recently, it’s probably from one of our own local roasters. You won’t confuse their stuff with Folgers. And I’m starting to bore myself – the bottom line is Third Coast Coffee beans will cost you $11.99 for twelve ounces at Whole Foods or Central Market, but $9 for sixteen ounces at their South Congress roasting facility. For the exact same stuff. I think Forrest Gump once said, “I’m not a smart man, but I know what a good coffee deal is.” They’re open weekdays until 6, you won’t go wrong with the Yirgacheffe, and I’m just a big fan of their Third Coast Blend & classic Double French. And while you’re buying, you can enjoy a cup of whatever the staff’s brewing. There’s also a buck-off Yelp check-in coupon. Seriously, what gets better than that? Okay, maybe peas & carrots, lightly sautéed.

Elizabeth’s Special Day – Menu with Prices – 5053 N Summit St, Toledo

I couldnâ??t thank Elizabeth enough! My husband and Iâ??s baker cancelled less than one month before the wedding and Elizabethâ??s Special Day saved the day. First off, she offers so many great delicious flavors that it was hard to pick which ones we wanted for our wedding. Secondly, we LOVED our cake. It was everything we wanted. Itâ??s also so helpful that she offers cake and cupcake stands. We thought we ordered enough cupcakes and right after dinner they were absolutely all gone before we even cut the cake. Everyone had so many great things to say and wanted to know who made them. We canâ??t wait to use Elizabethâ??s Special Day for other events in the future. Thank you so much Elizabeth!

La Creme Wedding Cakes – Menu with Prices – 113 Taborwood Trail, Murfreesboro

My wedding cake experience with La Creme was perfect. I have no complaints at all. Elizabeth was extremely responsive and professional. She worked with me on all my creative input. I sent her pictures and ideas and Elizabeth was able to create something that matched my thoughts and vision. The cake was delicious as well! I am so happy we went with Elizabeth. I spoke with many wedding cake designers before I found the right one. La Creme was the only one that reflected my personal esthetic while staying within my budget. I just wish the night would have lasted longer so I could have eaten more cake!

Jackson Center – Menu with Prices – 6001 Moquin Dr NW, Huntsville

Fantastic Event Space, perfect for Charity/Fundraising Events. As professional Benefit Auctioneer I’ve been in many event venue spaces and the Jackson Center is first class. Ample Parking, Good layout, bathrooms, staging, everything. (The only suggestion I would have for future events is to make certain you have an AV tech on hand) Can’t wait to be part of more events at the Jackson Center

Pappa Gyros – Menu with Prices – 23255 Kingsland Blvd, Katy

This place is the truth! Probably the best gyro plate/wraps in the Greater Houston area (its in Katy) and the french fries are the bomb! I’ll be honest, the first time we went here, it was amazing. The second time we did, the meats on the mixed plate was not cooked enough, the tzatziki sauce had no flavor and tasted like basically plain greek yogurt, and they forgot our fries! We were like wtf, is this even the same management/chef ? I was totally disappointed. We called in to let them know and the owner was nice enough to say he wanted to make it right. We came weeks later to take him up on his offer, and man it was back on point. It was a random trip so it wasnt like they would have had time to cherry pick or make our order especially good. That one time must have been an off day or something because this time, the gyro meat was cooked right and slightly crispy just how I like it. The tzatziki sauce had alot of dill and was so flavorful, and the french fries were amazing! Not only was the food good, the customer service was top notch and they made up for their mistake and comped us for that great meal. Definitely made me a long time customer and I will be back to try the cheesesteak because I heard and read that it is fire! No wonder this is one of the top Yelp spots in the nation! Well deserved!

Pure Intentions Coffee – Menu with Prices – 2215 N Tryon St Suite A, Charlotte

Pure Intentions is by far my favorite local coffee roaster, their staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and their coffee is exceptional. I first learned about them and sampled their product at a local beer festival several years ago and have been hooked ever since. They are a hard working and dedicated team that continually strives to offer new and innovative products. It’s not hard to see why their business is flourishing and it’s becoming easier to find their products at more and more local businesses. So please, do yourself a favor and try them out if you haven’t already. Swing by your local market or drop by the roaster if you are local and grab a bag (or 2), you won’t be disappointed.

Percasso Coffee & Bottled Water Service – Menu with Prices – 3055 NW Yeon Ave #150, Portland

Percasso is absolutely perfecto! I was given the task of finding a water service for our brand new Silicon Valley start up in Fort Vancouver, and was given just 5 days to find the service and get everything installed and ready to go before a huge event we were having here. Not only did a Percasso rep reply to my request within 3 hours, but they even came to our location to check things out (because we’re in the fort, there are a lot of things we can’t do, due to preserving the history). They worked within our budget and our restrictions here and came up with a perfect water and coffee plan for us. We have a sales team of 40+, so during events they drink a TON OF COFFEE!!! We never run out, because if we need something in a pinch, Percasso is right there to help us out. Did I mention their team is the nicest team I have ever dealt with? I kid you not. I was thinking about leaving a review the second the installer left the building, because of how fabulous he was and how smoothly everything went! I will never use another horrible Portland water service again….because now we found Percasso! ?
