This wasn’t a great experience for me at all. It seemed like I was in a restaurant with indifferent teenagers rather than a professional establishment. The bar manager was the person taking my order, and he didn’t really seem as though he wanted to take it lol. It took forever to even be greeted. It was a while back, so some of the details are fuzzy to me, but I can say that I’ve been to the Genghis Grill in Rockwall, and it was nothing like this. This location really lacks on service…like seriously. I’m not giving this place a 1-star simply because I’ve experienced 1-star service, and it didn’t quite get that bad. The food was “meh,” and the service was poor. There were no signs, no direction, no anything to let a customer know what to do or where to go. You really are just sort of lost. The host was in the kitchen or sitting at a table on his phone the entire time. Your actual waiter would be absent for about 5 straight minutes. Eh, I expected more based on visits to other locations. I figured that because this one was located in such an affluent area, the service would need to be reflective of the clientele. Nope…it felt like I was at a high school football game concession stand turned into a restaurant.

First Watch – Durham – Menu with Prices – 5307 New Hope Commons Blvd Ext, Durham

Probably the rudest waiter i’ve ever had, middle-of-the-road food couldnt save the poor service. Decided to go somewhere new on saturday morning. Coming into the restaurant we were received with a mild greeting and seated. Our waiter arrived and asked what we’d like to drink. No welcome, no greeting, if there were specials we didnt hear about them, he did not even give his name. Because i dont have his name I can only say that he was working 7/6/19 at some point between 12 and 2 pm, was tall, overweight, slicked back short black curly hair, and he had a face like he didnt want to be there. he was waiting tables in the booth area near the windows away from the front door. We ordered our drinks, hot cocoa for them and I order sweet tea. He came back a few minutes later and wordlessly dropped them on the table, the water glasses were on the table, they remained unfilled. I was with my wife, mother-in-law and her aunt, english is not their first language and they are very picky eaters. They spent about 5 minutes reading the menu before he came by and asked what we were ordering.. I look over and my mother in law is literally in the process of squinting at the menu when he asks us this.. My wife is still reading a menu and her aunt still has one in her face as well.. no one had a menu on the table, no one was staring around idly, no one flagged him down, in no way shape or form was there a cue for him to ask us our order.. dude didnt even ask if we needed more time or had questions.. because theyre foreign theyre often uncomfortable ordering food, my wife hurries both of them through the menu while the waiter essentially stands there with an irritated demeanor and toe-taps. he takes the order and hes gone. I couldnt follow his interactions with the other tables but they didnt look like they were any better. what makes it worse is he didnt seem all that busy or rushed, while that doesnt excuse his behavior, it would have at least made it understandable. our drinks ran out and shortly after, our food arrived and it was pushed onto our table. if there was a utensil, cup, hand, cell phone, purse, whatever on the table, it was shoved out of the way by a plate.. at this point it was comical how much this dude did not give a damn. the plates were shoved onto the table and he was gone. The hot cocoa cups were empty, the water glasses still werent filled, and my tea was just ice. No drink refills, no mid-meal check up. He came by, asked if we would be splitting our check and that was the last of him. oh yeah, i forgot about the food.. Overall the food was “okay” but completely forgettable.. hell, ill only remember this place cause the waiter was a terrible host..

The Chicken Barn – Menu with Prices – 2601 Oakdale Rd # S, Modesto

The food is good but the service is actually horrible. I ordered on the phone and came in because I was in a hurry. Not one customer was there and they made me wait 15 minutes longer once I got there for a 10 peice chicken meal. It’s like they didnt want me to place a pickup order, they didnt like that. And the lady was rude. I really wont go anymore because the whole staff is actually VERY RUDE. 100% the rudest establishment I’ve been to. Horrible customer service.

Water Falls Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 18700 MacArthur Blvd, Irvine

Terrible service. I’ve never left a restaurant before the food arrived, but I just did. The bread never made it to my table. The waiter was so rude. He seemed to be in a hurry, which is normal, but he made me feel like he really didn’t want me to take up his time. He was looking over at other parts of the restaurant the entire time, instead of in the direction of my table. I asked him what the fish special was. “No fish today,” with a wave of a hand. I asked him what the soup of the day was. He finally looked at me and said, “black bean soup.” He actually wrinkled his nose in a way that said, “You don’t want to get that.” So then I said I would get an appetizer of dumplings to start, but I haven’t decided on the main course. He said ok and grabbed for my menu! I hadn’t ordered my dinner yet! The menu didn’t have anything that I particularly wanted, so I decided to just leave.

Mea kwan Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 2326 Proctor Valley Rd, Chula Vista

Shocking experience. I just had a very upsetting experience at Mea Kwan. We usually order out but had eaten in a few times. Today we decided to eat in. When we got there, only 1 other couple was there and had just ordered. Now, I am used the the main (and only) host & waiter being not so much on the friendly side, which is not great when interacting with customers. However, I am shocked at how rude he was to me today. Rather than turn this into an essay, I’ll just summarize the issues I had, again with only two tables seated, including mine. 1. Waiter spent a lot of time in the kitchen talking, all the time. 2. He did not return to take our entree order, passing us by each time. 3. When I finally stopped him he said he’d come back, which he eventually did in about another 5 minutes. 4. After waiting 15-20 mins for a spring role app. it came out burnt. 5. Waiter said he would redo it but it would also be burnt. He said the inside is cold unless we burn them on the outside. What? 6. Entree came and was good, as the food usually is. 7. I asked for soy sauce, and noticed the waiter struggle with something. I sound found out why, because the soy bottle top was broken, and so O ruined my son’s rice. 8. When the entree was dropped off and I had piled a few plates from the app and side plates together to be picked up, the waiter didn’t take them. When I asked him to take them, again I got the ‘I will come back’ response. Let me remind you again, only two takes seated in the place. 9. When he eventually came back to remove the plates I had placed them on an empty table beside me, as I needed to make room at our table. He told me that I shouldn’t have moved the plates and this is where he got nasty, shouting at me. To me this is not acceptable. I asked for the manager and guess what….yup, he was the host/waiter, and manager. When I explained that the service was too slow, his response was that next time I should order to go. Really, he actually said that. To cap it off, when the check came he had added a 15% service charge onto my bill, automatically. For shame. Of course I had the service charge removed, paid, and left. I’d go back and speak to the owner if I thought it would help. We actually liked this place. So sad to have such horribly bad customer service and terrible attitude towards your customers. Eric

Niko Niko Sushi – Menu with Prices – 1212 N San Fernando Blvd B, Burbank

Yelp says this restaurant does not take reservations. The waiter had the audacity to say that a party that arrived after mine had a reservation. Let me explain. Upon queuing, we were told to expect a 20 minute wait. 20 minutes passed by, we checked, and were told to wait a little longer without being told how much longer. 30, then 35 minutes passed. In the meantime, we see a group of four that just arrived and begin to walk into the restaurant. That same party waited with us, then began to proceed into the restaurant. I checked in again and saw that party sit down with the same waiter. 40 minutes have passed. Not only was the waiter dishonest about the time and unapologetic with wasting double what she estimated, her countenance remained cold and unwelcoming the entire time from my initial entry to checking back after the time she said had passed. Not only did she allow a group that came after us to be served before us, but she also made up the excuse of that said party having made a reservation. Also, she deliberately walked briskly and often went into the kitchen, avoiding the customer (me) at the door and my inquiries. I will spare describing her appearance, though this I leave as advice: – Make a reservation by phone, contradicting what they say on Yelp – Expect to wait at least an hour or more before being served at dinnertime

The Original Barrio Fiesta of Manila – Menu with Prices – 818 N Pacific Ave & Arden Ave, Glendale

VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER. Before I ordered the Kare kare, I asked how many ox tails was included the waiter, I think his name is Jay or jr. We’ll he told me that it came with 2 big ox tails and some tripes and beef briskets. He mentioned if I just want the ox tails instead of the other meats, it would be the same price of $24.00 for large. But when he was explaining it to me, that he’ll put more ox tails, he said it will be extra. So I think he wasn’t telling me the truth. So I ordered our food -crispy binagoongan , kare kare, pinakbet. And rice. When the food finally came, my wife and I were very very disappointed that kare kare didnt have the big ox tails. That he said it would. We didn’t want to complain right there, so I called and ask him why is there only 2 small ox tails. I asked him where is the big ox tails, he said he never said that and he said there’s 2 in pot. He had an attitude bcuz I questioned the food. He then said he will get more ox tails. When he came back he brought over 1 small ox tail in a very tiny, small pala yok. What a joke , I knew his was making fun of me bcuz I complained. He also was asking me if I was good when he brought the small ox tail. I didnt want to make a scene. We as paying customer either Filipino or other ethic background be treated with respect . I was respectful towards him . I paid my hard earned money to eat good Filipino yet I got very very bad customer service and the was not great at all. The reason we went to this location is bcuz the one in north hills was busy. I told my family and friends of my bad experience here. They just lost a good paying customer. This facility needs to learn people skills. I do not recommend this place even if they giving food for free. Oh almost forgot, I called the place to speak with the manager, Jay answered. I ask for manager he said no one available. I asked for managers name. He would not give name. He asked why I wanted to speak to manager I replied I wanted to complain about customer service. He again had an attitude on the phone. So I just hung up on him.. For Jay being in the customer’s eyes. By giving poor customer service gives us Filipinos a bad name.. I even left a 18% tip of bill $64.70. knowing if I didnt he would be talking bad about us shame on you Jay Treating customers poorly. Had to pick 1 star or I can’t post. Zero rating:(!!

Super Pho Beef Noodle Soup Vietnamese Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 1630 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem

I usually don’t make/leave reviews on yelp, but tonight’s service was so horrible that I decided to leave one today. My family & i came in a little before 8:30, so 30 minutes before closing. We stood for a few minutes waiting for a server to acknowledge us. Before we were seated, she lets us know that they were closing in 30 minutes & we said that was fine. Then they took our order & 15 minutes later we got our food, only for them to get our order wrong. Somehow the waiter mixed up the egg roll number which was A4 with my food order #110. So instead of receiving any egg rolls, they brought out 4 bowls of pho. Everyone in my family had ordered something else, so it wouldn’t have made sense why we’d order more meals than actual people there. Anyways, we were told they couldn’t bring our egg rolls out because the kitchen was angry at the waiters for messing up the order. The waiter openly admits that she was at fault and because of that mistake, the kitchen did not want to make any more food. Mistakes happen all the time, so it was childish of the kitchen to act out like that. You should be upset with the waiters, not the customer. As a cook/chef, your main priority is to make sure the customers receives their food. The waiters seem to be scared of the kitchen, as they said they were mad at them. The waiter then tries to justify her action by putting the blame on us for coming close to closing time. I understand we came in late, but if you weren’t willing to serve us then why did you seat us? She proceeds to tell me they usually stop seating people around 8:30 because they don’t want to cook anymore. If that was the case then why doesn’t the restaurant just close at 8:30? This was a very unpleasant visit since not everyone at our table got food. My grandpa is a fan of eating appetizers, so it was frustrating how he wasn’t able to get all his food. He ordered the spring rolls & egg rolls & was only able to receive the spring rolls. I used to enjoy coming here, but every time I come back in they give me another reason to just stop coming. Sad to see how a restaurant could be so careless towards their customers.

Faialense Sport Club – Menu with Prices – 1121 Cambridge St, Cambridge

Good food and good crowd. Seafood is fresh. And the atmosphere was amazing. We got to know and got talking to the people who were sitting right next to us. They even shared with us their homemade desserts. It was such a fun atmosphere. It felt really nice to be welcomed and be part of a community. It was definitely a different experience. The food was also fresh and the drinks were good too. The only thing is when we come back, we have to go early so that by the time our food arrives, we arent so hungry and almost past our hunger. But this is not their fault. They arent restaurant style/type. We knew this but we had to try it. We should have gone there right when they open. What I noticed is that the people cooking are great at what they do but they dont treat the ticket orders as how restaurants do. We notice that maybe due to the small kitchen, they fire up one dish at a time. So we noticed all of the fish steak dish coming out for the entire dining room, then comes next the shrimp dish etc. Then the steak…so the food for our table didnt come out all at the same time and we all didnt eat at the same time. But thats okay, we decided to share it as family style instead so we can all eat and have something. Next time, we know what to expect. The best thing about this place is that you have that table for the entire night! No one is rushing you to leave! Quite a concept for american diners isn’t it? We’ll be back!

Miller’s Ale House – Chattanooga – Menu with Prices – 2119 Gunbarrel Rd, Chattanooga

My experience at Millerâ??s Ale House was one I will never forget. August 16, 2019, my family and I met up at the restaurant to celebrate my sisterâ??s 21st birthday. My first impression of that place was that it was small, our host was confused as to what was going on, and management was horrible. I have a big family and knowing that there would be at least 20 of us eating, we called and notified the restaurant that we would be coming 3 days in advance. But when we got to the restaurant, we still had to wait an hour to be seated. Even when we were about to be seated, the host and managers tried to split us up in a way that my entire family would be sitting at different locations throughout the restaurant. When we asked why the seating arrangements hand not been compromised upon call ahead and why we couldnâ??t all sit together (I mean we did come as a family TOGETHER to celebrate a birthday party), they explained to us that Friday nights are their busiest days and that they canâ??t necessarily reserve tables for parties when itâ??s busy. Now, I work in a restaurant so I try to be understanding in the event that situations occur but them explaining to me their circumstances only escalated the situation and made everyone in my family mad. Me understanding that Fridayâ??s are their busiest days donâ??t give me closure knowing we called days before to let them know the time and date we were coming. Also, if they were not for sure that they would be able to seat my entire family, thatâ??s something that shouldâ??ve been explained over the phone. Overall, I wasnâ??t impressed by the lack of communication, complimentary appetizers they tried to bribe us with, or the poor customer service. Though Iâ??ve never tried the food, Iâ??m not convinced I ever want to. Also for anyone looking to celebrate any type of occasion there, especially with a big group, I would recommend trying to go somewhere else first.

Famiglia Bistro – Menu with Prices – 2501 McHenry Ave, Modesto

This review is for the backroom event venue services: Comedy Night in particular. The wait service was/is absolutely unacceptable. Our table of 10 was given no attention and when we did, it was with a loud, full blown attitude DURING the show, distracting other attendees. We also observed other tables expressing obvious disappointment and disatifaction with our same waitress. The entire night would have been ruined if it wasn’t for the actual comedy being good. It was hard to ignore the terrible service. Can’t speak about all the staff but standards are standards. The food was extremely delayed and subpar upon delivery. The bruschetta was a straight joke. The kitchen probably needs a pep talk after a review of Famiglia standards. Nobody received waters and when some did, no refill, no one received or was asked about their alcoholic drinks refills either. The obligatory group gratuity and service fees were another slap in the face given the lack of customer service provided. I have frequented the restaurant and it has always been a great experience. It is the saddest memory to walk away with when you expect the same high level at a show night and even bring more friends out, only to have everyone walk away completely disgusted. I can’t imagine willingly spending more money here during show nights. Hope it improves. I won’t be ordering a thing at the next show. We will remind everyone to eat & drink elsewhere prior to or save their hard earned dollars for after the shows.

Pastas Pronto – Menu with Prices – 2419 Coffee Rd, Modesto

My wife and I recently ate dinner here on a Saturday night and were disappointed with their service. We were offered more bread before we got our food and we said yes, then had to ask three times for it because the waiter forgot and so did the other waitress. By the time we actually got the bread we were done eating and our food was cold. We asked for lemons with the water and they forgot that too, and took forever to give us our bill as well. What frustrated us was that the workers in the kitchen were being very loud and our waiter and waitress kept disappearing back into the kitchen. Need to be more focused on keeping customers happy. *Good food gets them the second star.

Texas Steak Express – Lubbock North – Menu with Prices – 606 W Loop 289, Lubbock

Wow, the customer service I just received was actualy hurtful. i called up for delivery and was placed on immediate hold for 5 minutes, before ordering not an anectotal five minutes, but a -my phone shows length of calls -actual five minutes. This is typical with steak express and i usually let it go but due to the way i was treated, i’m gonna go ahead and put that out there too. then I placed my order and after i reminded them that on a previous order they had left off two orders of rolls and i was promised a free desert the next time i ordered. now further detail on that.. when they messed up my order on the previous order i was cool and told em they didnt have to send a driver out, and the guy promised me a free desert on my next order. so Natasha looked at the notes and said it was noted i could have the rolls on the next order. I replied can you please check my history and see if thats the decision you wanna go with. I order lots with them steaks and such, 75 dollar tickets i thought this info would help my cause but i swear i feel it put them in combat mode. she checked with her manager dani of which… she just laid the phone down and i heard the entire conversation and it wasnt flattering..and came back telling me, i checked, thats the decision… i asked to speak to dani and when dani came to the phone i reminded that night i was cool and didnt request the driver come back and everything was thankful and nice and now that im calling in the item promised, with an order i was told it wasnt the case. the response was very cold that dani noted it up and that wasnt the case. i then asked dani to look and ask if my history was visible and dani said yes however that was the decision. i informed Dani they had just lost my business. also note this was the first time i ever asked them to correct an order although other things have been messed up in the past. i had never looked at thier rating here because its delivery, i usually like to check in and rate, but… it looks like others get the same treatment.. such a shame, i’ll miss having steak delivered, but i wont be called a liar or treated this way.
