Eh. The best part of this Thump location was getting there. As someone just visiting Bend it gave me a chance to see a part of town that I wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Also, Google navigator does traffic circles surprisingly well and I got a kick out of that. Had a Belgian mocha. “Belgian” is the type of chocolate used. Not very sweet, which I’m sure many prefer, but I like my mochas a tad sweeter. And, of course, these are the fancy mochas that don’t come with whipped cream on top. Also had a Snickerdoodle cookie. Always on the lookout for a good Snickerdoodle, I wouldn’t order this one again. Had that weird lemon-y flavor often awkwardly noticed in baked goods, I’m not sure what it is but it doesn’t belong in what’s essentially a sugar cookie with cinnamon. Also, at $2.50 each, yeah, nope. Slow service. I get the whole “hand crafted” thing, but I was the only one in line and it still took probably 5 minutes to get my drink. Don’t get me wrong, it was pretty, but not sure why it took so long. Parking could get tight. This location is in the back corner of a professional office park so Thump shares a parking lot that’s essentially employee parking for many businesses – meaning most parking places won’t turn over during the day while people are working. On the upside, the place does have a good vibe with plenty of seating – both inside and out – and the wifi signal seemed strong. Outside is a fire pit which could be neat at night, especially in the winter, if the place is even open at night. Generally speaking, Thump probably isn’t for me but it could be for you depending on your personal taste, and this location specifically would be a nice break for people working / going to school / passing through the the neighborhood.

Street Sweets 1969 LLC – Menu with Prices – 4106 State St, Salem

I was so excited to try this food truck. Their menu looked extensive and delicious, with quite a few typos but the food still was appealing! What caught my eye was that they have edible cookie dough, that’s something I’ve never had before that doesn’t have a salmonella warning lol. I was definitely going to buy some and my husband was going to get a shake. Before we ordered, there was about 3 flavors of cookie doughs, one including a flavor of cookie I had never heard before so I had asked the server/attendant if they gave samples or could let me try it, she literally scoffed at me and said “Well, my cookie dough tastes like any other cookie dough.” If you can’t read it with attitude, definitely imagine it because she had a LOAD of it. I assume she was the manager or owner because I then explained I had never heard of the kind of cookie dough and she said “Well, it’s like a sugar cookie. It’s my snickerdoodle recipe with sprinkles. So, that’s what it tastes like.” 3 sentences dripping with attitude and facial expressions that were attempting to make me feel stupid. I walked away right after, we will never give these people our money.

King Cookie Ocala – Menu with Prices – 3313 NE Jacksonville Rd, Ocala

My daughter requested a my little pony cookie cake for her 4th birthday party. So I decided to use king cookie after see some friend use this place on Facebook and man was I impressed with the result ! I have googled some cookie cake designs and realized how hard it is to do a pony in icing and man did he hit it out of the park with her cake ! Not only did the cake look awesome I received soo many compliments on how delicious it was and after the party only had a small piece left . It was gone ! We bought a large rectangle cookie cake that was half snickerdoodle and half chocolate chip . I would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a custom cookie cake for their event ! Thank you king cookie for making my daughters 4th birthday so great ! We will be back for sure !!!

The Cookie Plug – Menu with Prices – 2915 Van Buren Boulevard STE J1, Riverside

Giant Cookies! Good Taste. This cookie place was consistently popping up on my postmates account and was craving something sweet, so I thought I would give them a try. It was a little more on the pricey side when I was reviewing their menu but ordered the cookies anyway. I got the half sack that came with 7 cookies for $15 and got 2 snooperdoodle, purple velvet, 2 OG chocolate chip, white macadamia, and pumpkin. When the cookies arrived via postmates, the cookies were HUGE and packaged in a ziplock with their logo (didn’t really care for the packaging). The cookies are about an inch thick with a diameter of a lunchables pizza, maybe even bigger (only way I can think of how to explain the size right now.) Just based on size, the price is MORE than fair!! I told my husband the price, and he was in disbelief due to the cookie’s sizes! Snooperdoodle– (snickerdoodle) the cookies are moist with crisp edges, but the cookie itself is thick. I prefer snickerdoodle cookies to be a little more on the thin side because otherwise it reminds me of a sweet bread. Overall, taste was pretty good. I think I expected something more like Mrs. Fields consistency but was not similar due to its thickness. Purple velvet–good taste and good texture throughout the cookie. It’s an interesting cookie. OG chocolate chip–these do not disappoint!!! Great dough and lots of chocolate chips! Perfect texture. Warmed it up a bit in the microwave and WOW! My favorite cookie of them all. I wish I could customize the cookie for a little less chocolate chips just because I enjoyed their dough so much. White macadamia–great cookie! Tastes true to the macadamia cookies. Texture is on point. No complaints Pumpkin–almost like a pumpkin loaf in cookie form. Pumpkin isn’t too overpowering. Moist with crisp edges. Great cookies. Definitely recommend.

Crumbl Cookies – Gilbert – Menu with Prices – 2743 S Market St #104, Gilbert

Have never been here before. But it was talked up by several people. Went in and was shocked by their prices almost $4 for a cookie. We asked about nuts since our kids have but allergies and they said only 2 of them have nuts in them but the facility does have nuts in it (which we totally understand). However, I watched the girl put all of them in the box with the same spatula (cross contaminating all of them). We asked if we could swap out our single cookie in a small box for a different one since we had not taken position of the box yet and the girl said yes. She kept the small box and handed us a cookie in a small bag instead. So we paid for the stupid box and did not even get it. And the frosting was smashed all over the bag. When we tried the sugar cookie it was nothing like Sweetcakes Cookies in Mesa (soft and creamy). It was dry and lacked cookie flavor. Lady who looked like the owner or manager in (round frame eye glasses) did not interact with customers and seemed like she did not want to be there. She was also the person who told the employee to put our replacement cookie in a bag and not give us the box.

Highway Espresso – Menu with Prices – 5505 Old Redwood Hwy, Santa Rosa

The only thing that is good about this place is the bagels. This place is right by my house so I have tried to love it, but can’t. THEIR COFFEE SUCKS. The coffee itself is always very weak, even when I was assured it was nice and strong. They are not using the proper coffee to water ratio. I actually prefer the coffee from the gas station over this hut. Of the 8 mochas I’ve gotten no 2 have tasted the same, they should be at least mildly consistent. It’s like they have no actual recipe for the coffee or the mochas and they’re just eyeballing everything, but very badly. 3 times they got my simple, 1 item order wrong, once it was literally a black coffee and they put soymilk in it. The breakfast burritos are really spicy and rather under stuffed and the tortilla is mushy/gummy. I have worked at several coffee places of varying quality and the owners of this place need to suprise pop-in and taste everything and re-train people, because it’s clear some employee either doesn’t give a crap or doesn’t know any better. 2 stars for bagels and drive through. Those bagels are amazing and toasted perfectly with just the right amount of cream cheese.

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – 8000 W Sahara Ave, Moneyworld Plaza Suite 160, Las Vegas

The owner knows nothing about customer service. Awful experience over a simple cookie. Should have just offered it complimentary for making me wait so long. I was waiting to make a payment for 7-8 minutes because my order kept coming up a dollar more because I ordered the meal of the day and had a free cookie offer. The new clerk, working alone, didn’t know why it kept coming up a dollar more. She had to call her manager which actually took quite some time. She was unaware I couldn’t get multiple discounts and I was unaware that you couldn’t get multiple discounts, but my son already received the cookie. Owners response: I have to pay for the cookie. What a fool, can’t see the forest through the trees. Over a 69 cent cookie. I won’t return to this franchise location and I’m sending this situation in on the survey.

Gannons Isle Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 1525 Valley Dr, Syracuse

I really love this ice cream; this specific location not so much. I arrived an hour before closing on a Friday night and was greeted two short lines which is a pleasant surprise. As we were waiting (which took very long for the amount of employees) more customers formed a longer line and an employee openers the third window and rudely said “can you form a third line so you’re not in the parking lot please” as if the 3rd window was opened the entire time. Finally it was my turn and after ordering the same employee actually flicked my ice cream through the window which topped off my already off putting experience. As I enjoyed my ice cream I listened to a podcast in my car and by the end of the ice cream I was stuck in my spot because the parking lot is so small and disorganized. Long story short; great ice cream, very disorganized location. Save your time and patience and go to a different one.

Fat Tuesday – Menu with Prices – 6751 N Sunset Blvd #E113, Glendale

Goodness gracious this is terrible for nightlife and even worse if you compare it to the Mill Ave location. It is literally the stickiest floor I’ve suffered through. I wasn’t really even trying to bust a move and thought my shoes would get stuck just drunkenly shuffling around. I hate how they still keep out all the bar stools at night, meaning I not only have to compete with all the other customers for attention, I have to bump into and reach around people sitting down in front of the bar at a packed club. That’s bad logistics. People who want to sit down should do so outside, but good luck as there’s not much space to do that. It is not half as good as the other one I frequent, but I hope they keep working on it. But on the other hand, this is Westgate so just staying open a couple years is probably all they need to consider it successful.

Bicycle Nomad Café – Menu with Prices – 828 N 2nd St, Phoenix

Located West of FilmBar, North of Angel’s Trumpet, and South of Churchill – is a coffee shop that shares the same building with the bike shop Velo. They also share a covered parking lot so you don’t have to park on the street using the meters (yay!). There’s indoor and outdoor seating. From my two visits here I ordered the CocoSpresso (coffee in a coconut with its coconut water), a grilled peanut butter sandwich (the Cookie Dough one), a cappuccino, and a red velvet muffin. The red velvet muffin was very soft and moist, and the CocoSpresso was very refreshing. The cappuccino was bitter and sour, and the Cookie Dough grilled peanut butter sandwich was too dry, the one with jelly is probably better. However, the space was comfortable and pleasant, and the service was friendly and quick!

Gelato Brothers Brew Bros Coffee – Southside – Menu with Prices – 1014 Sevier Ave Suite B, Knoxville

I’ve had so many friends recommend this place to me and it seriously did not disappoint! It’s a very small store and the employee was so nice and I got to try out a few sample tastes before I made my decision. I got a lil bro and it included two scoops of gelato in which I got the strawberry cheesecake and banana caramel. The price was $6 even (which I appreciated not having to count out change lol) which is a little steep but always down to support your small businesses! The strawberry cheesecake was definitely my favorite and not overly sweet. My friend got the Belgian dark chocolate and banana caramel and she loved it. Super creamy and almost wispy gelato. Indoor seating is limited to one table but there’s some outdoor seating available. Definitely one of my favorite dessert places in Knoxville and I’m so happy I finally got to try it out!

EVP Coffee West – Menu with Prices – 3809 Mineral Point Rd, Madison

So I recently decided that I’m going to try to start drinking coffee, starting with lighter drinks like Mochas and Lattes and eventually progressing to regular coffee. Lately I’ve been trying some coffee shops around my house and seeing which ones have the best mochas and are my favorite. So far, this one is definitely my favorite. I got here around 10 AM on Saturday morning. There was a good number of people here, so I took a seat at a table in the back. My Mocha was good, and not too strong. Banana bread was also good. This was my first time here but it seems like a pretty good study and work atmosphere. I look forward to returning.
