This was the perfect pitstop on a hot summer day. I love the fact that their ice cream and cones are vegan, gluten and dairy free. I had their ginger peach flavor and my sister tried the golden milk. Absolutely delicious and you can tell that it’s made with real ingredients! There were two tables and seats near the truck otherwise not much seating. Pricing was a bit on the higher side, I spent almost $13 for 2 cones 1 flavor but i guess that’s expected for quality ingredients. The owner also mentioned a brick and mortar was coming soon, so that’s something exciting to look forward to.

V-Trap Kitchen & Lounge – Menu with Prices – 607 N Lincoln St, Wilmington

Yum! It’s the same delicious food from the creative minds of the Nude Food truck. They have just evolved to a brick-and-mortar shop in Little Italy Wilmington, Delaware. I haven’t posted pictures of their juices because I wind up drinking it because it’s so delicious, I forget to take a picture. I recently had their pineapple mint, which is amazing. Understandably their priority is this business not so much the truck, so as of right now, the Newark location for the truck has been put on hold. That was their home base for quite a while. When going to food truck events, I’m mostly disappointed in the selection of just fried greasy options. There is an organization called the Rolling Revolution, which is like a food truck union in Delaware that some food trucks belong to. But there’s almost like a clique happening now, with the same food trucks going to the same events which I just don’t even attend. Hopefully this brick-and-mortar place will do well and I will make an effort to try to get up there but it’s not as convenient as it once was at the truck. But you got to support people who are making an impact for the positive even if it’s a little inconvenient.

The Dog House Tulsa – Menu with Prices – 3711 S Harvard Ave Suite A, Tulsa

This place has moved and is reflected by the new address. I liked it better when they had the brick and mortar building going on. I came here recently and ordered a couple of hot dogs out of the truck. This was the first let down as we had been told they had a new brick and mortar shop. It wasn’t open. We sat at some pick-nick tables nearby and were immediately swarmed by the flies from the garbage can near by. It was awful. Flies everywhere and we would get an occasional whiff of some terrible smell. Aside from the location and flies, the food was good as I remember. I would always get their stuff if they had a cart going at the BOK Center, as it easily blows away the rest of the food there. I just hope they get the new building going and get some practices in place to keep the flies out.

Tropicali Food Truck – Menu with Prices – 606 N Ponce De Leon Blvd, St. Augustine

i was cruising around the streets of St A today and saw a brightly colored food truck/trailer. Tropi Cali truck was the new place I see. When I pulled up I was a little bit confused. I looked at the truck and I have seen a lot of trucks. Then I look over to the same logo and paint on a building. I looked truck one way building the other. I walked up to the truck and Sam a cute little thing says hey first time ha? Yep can you tell and I looked back at the building. There were a couple of guys enjoying their food and they told everyone that I was in for a treat. I had to ask Sam what up over there? She quickly told me that they have indoor seating and are soon expanding to work out of the building. Now this is a first to me. Now I have heard of truck owners moving into a brick n mortar but never a truck parking in the same lot as their brick n mortar. Now we got to talking and I quickly learned that they have been open for 8-9 months now. They are kind of out of the way but have a very loyal local following. Cool that is always a good thing. Ok small talk over let’s go into the food. After learning that I was a newby she told me you have to try the jerk chicken riblets. When she handed it to me I knew right off the bat what it was. The drum section of a chicken wing. But it was full of flavor and super tender. They also had some jerk sauce, shredded coconut, and green onions on top. Really good is the first words that came to mind. Remember we call ourselves Jamamerican having traveled there a bunch of times. I ,over onto the taco side not being hungry enough for a burrito cause I knew that they would be huge. I decided on two tacos. One of shrimp and the other of beef. Both with the works which is cabbage, cilantro, and fresh made salsa. They also came with some chips. I quickly dug into these things soon as a figured out how to get it into my mouth. I will say that they are huge and you better be hungry when you order here. The beef was really good tender and juicy and mixed well with all of the fixing that went a long with them. The shrimp taco was just as big and just as tasty. The shrimp were cooked well and had a bit of heat to them also. I will say that Rick (owner) Sam and Mike are really good folks that just want to serve you some awesome food. So when in St A head a little farther north and they will be on your right. Do it I said so.

Green Papaya – Menu with Prices – 7840 West Ln D4, Stockton

Good food, competitive pricing, good location. Friendly service. My husband enjoyed the flavor of the Pad Thai (Beef & Chicken combo). I had Drunken Noodles (Chicken). It was an interesting dish, I enjoyed the chow fun style noodles, though I don’t care for Mint leaves in food or overly salty foods. My husband also agrees that there was too much tomato-ey taste to the Drunken Noodles. Customers, please, close door behind you when entering or exiting, to keep flies out! ð???ð??º I’ve also had their tasty Beef Laap over steamed rice from their Food Truck, before they opened brick & mortar location. When available, they also have great tasting Pork Belly.

Churn Urban Creamery – Menu with Prices – 2646 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco

You know you’re doing something great when you’re featured in Eater SF! I grew up in Portola which is one of the few neighborhoods in SF to not be gentrified so yea, it’s pretty unknown unless you’re a SF native or long time resident. It’s a blue-collar, diverse neighborhood which unfortunately doesn’t have much quality eats (yet) so it’s great to see Churn Urban Creamery open their first brick and mortar in the long vacant Johnson’s BBQ spot in the historic Avenue Theater. To my knowledge, this is the first time, Eater SF has ever featured am entire article of a Portola business which I have mixed feelings about – good for this small business because there was a huge line over the grand opening weekend but I hope this humble neighborhood doesn’t turn into another Valencia street. I’ve been following Churn Urban Creamy since they started out as a little pop-up cart in Outer Sunset but their appearances never worked with my schedule. Now that they have a brick & mortar, it will be easier to support this small business. Love their concept of Farm-to-Scoop, the owner (an SF native) has own farm in her backyard and works with locals purveyors to create Churn Urban Creamery’s ice cream. Recently, she posted on Churn’s FB page asking Portola neighbors if they have fruits and herbs in their backyard to use their ice cream. I appreciate how she’s trying to get the community involved. Currently, there’s 8 seasonal ice cream flavors available, 3 of which are vegan. Sampling is welcome. I ordered a Standard Scoop with 2 flavors: Strawberries ‘n Cream & Salted Pretzel Stout Caramel ($4.50): https://bit.ly/2KgwC5O. The Strawberries ‘n Cream was nostalgic and reminded me of Nesquik’s Strawberry Milk I drank as a kid but of course, made with fresh, higher quality ingredients. It was nicely creamy but there were some icy bits. I’m not a beer person but I really enjoyed the Salted Pretzel Stout Caramel which is made with next door’s Ferment. Drink. Repeat (FDR)’s stout. It has the exact same flavor profile as the name indicates – salty, sweet, and malty. I just wish there were some pretzel bits for texture. Service is friendly and earnest. The owner did a fantastic job transforming the former BBQ space which was really run down with torn banquette seats to a bright and airy space. Counter seating only. Parking is the biggest downside. Finding street parking can be very challenging but you can park at the Bank of the West parking lot across the street after they close (after 5 PM and all day Sunday). Overall, 4 stars for the ice cream but I’m bumping it to 5 stars because it’s Portola with limited good quality eateries. In the last 10 days, three new businesses have opened up in Portola: Churn, Bánh Mì & Rolls (across the street), and Hi Tea (one block away) which is exciting for this area. If you find parking, might as well hit up all three to support your local mom and pop businesses. Welcome to the hood, Churn!

Tropical Sno – Menu with Prices – 2009 NE 117th St, Vancouver

I’m originally from Texas where snow cones places are all over the place. Some are even brick and mortar year round joints. Happened to drive by and well it’s summer time so me and the kiddos NEEDED a snow cone. All the feels y’all. Friendly staff at the local snow cone stand. Delicious perfectly juicy products. Lots of different flavors. Fun little spoons that change colors when they are cold and drip proof containers make this place a snow brainer. Oh yeah I did that.

Taqueria El Pastorcito – Menu with Prices – 3965 E Owens Ave, Las Vegas

We usually hit up the the truck on Charleston Blvd but today we found out they have a brick and mortar spot on Owens. The customer service was impeccable, the cashier was very knowledgeable and had no problem explaining on what everything was. We had the Parrillada which is skillet of asada, al pastor, pollo and chorizo with bell peppers, mushrooms, nopales and queso ($15). It comes with ten tortillas and can be split in between a few people. The torta was freaking huge, I got the al pastor torta and it was so good ($10). We also ordered some tacos de buche and ($2.50 each), so good. I highly recommend this little hidden gem on the east side.

Smoke N’ Pig BBQ – Menu with Prices – 908 Elmwood Rd, Lansing

I’m not sure how to describe our recent order from the Smoke N Pig bbq truck. Maybe there are some different influences or bbq styles that I’m not aware of at play here? Or, maybe I just had below average cue? Here’s what I’ll say, it didn’t work for me. I’ll leave it at that. We picked up our order around 11:30am, so I expected fresh, beautiful delicious bqq. That didn’t quite play out the way I had hoped. The brisket was bathed in a pool of liquid. Perhaps it was beef broth? What was going on with this presentation? (see pic) It was as if the beef was so dry it had to be re-moistened? I’ve never had brisket where it dripped all over the place due to a soaking mess. There was no bark present. Nowhere to be found. It seemed to me that maybe the brisket was smoked for a while been then overcooked in an oven, crockpot, or warmer? No smoke ring and completely missing a pure smoked bbq brisket taste. It reminded me of eating pot roast growing up. This was quite possibly the weakest brisket I’ve encountered. The ribs also seemed overcooked and had a coating that was weird. I suppose it was a sauce that had over cooked/over warmed onto the ribs? For a person that enjoys a nice rub and the right amount of smoke on ribs, this strange coating left us unimpressed. The chicken’s skin wasn’t edible, and the meat was a little bit dry. Very average. The mac-n-cheese? Plain. Think of the Kraft mac-n-cheese you make at home. Nothing unique or exciting about it. Would I recommend to a friend to try this bbq? Probably not. Overall, disappointing. Will I return? Likely, no. They have a new brick-n-mortar store coming in the same property that they have their truck. Maybe I’ll stop by for another taste someday.

Bundyâ??s Bagels – Menu with Prices – 1421 SE 33rd Ave, Portland

Bundy is fantastic. Bagels are delicious. When you put the two together? An adorable bagel truck with fantastically delicious bagels. I ended up getting just a poppyseed bagel with cream cheese, but there are other more exciting breakfast-y options with meat and cheese if you so desire. Tip #1: The truck is a bit hidden. It’s off the main road, and tucked into a small area with a few other food trucks. It’s also a food “truck” but very much stationary, so you don’t have to worry that it’s driven off and parked elsewhere. Tip #2: Maybe self-explanatory, but the truck is outdoors. There’s a little bit of seating in the area, but in general this is more of a grab-and-go rather than a sit-and-hangout kind of place. Overall: A great place to stop by and grab some bagels.

Hale Centre Theatre – Arizona – Menu with Prices – 50 W Page Ave, Gilbert

This is the first play I’ve ever been to. I went and saw Newsies with a friend. It was a last minute thing. I managed to get some seats that were labeled as “Partially Obstructed” and I feel that was a brief understatement. There was a good portion of the play we couldn’t even see at all. They were performing up on the scaffolding and we were sitting below it. That was a bit upsetting. Aside from that, there were a few issues that seemed to be in the process of being fixed. There was no sink in the bathrooms. There is construction going on all over the building. The seats are WAY too small. I feel uncomfortably close to people being a large person due to the tiny seats and spacing. The pricing is rather high, but I’ve never been to a play to compare it to. Its a very small homey theater so I figured the pricing would reflect that. On the plus side, it did feel homey due to the small theater that made you feel right there in the action. The actors did a great job singing and dancing and I had an enjoyable experience. As long as you can get over some minor discomforts I would recommend this place.

Mochiko Cville – Menu with Prices – 365 Merchant Walk Square Suite 300, Charlottesville

Mochiko really knocks it out of the park. This past February I spent a week in Hawaii and Mochiko takes me back in an instant. I was first intrigued by the spam masubi at the farmers market. It’s perfectly balanced and a great snack for only $3. We were elated to find out that they were setting a brick and mortar shop so we could get a chance at their full menu. We’ve been a few times since but love it every time. They make every plate fresh and you can taste the attention in every bite. Katsu comes right out of the fryer and the Lau Lau is only available when it’s fresh starting fridays until it’s sold out. And you can bet something will sell out. Our favorite main dish is hands-down the teriyaki beef. We’ve tried every side but it feels wrong to get a plate lunch without the Mac salad. Lastly, you have to appreciate the beverages. The owner spends the extra shipping to get Hawaiian Sun available without passing on the cost. Make sure to finish your meal with a juice for island style!

Monster Yogurt – Menu with Prices – 1360 W Campbell Rd #101, Richardson

Normally I would give them 5 stars. We have been there many times including today. This review is specific to today’s visit. We were sitting there enjoying our yogurt when we observed one of the staff in the process of making waffle cones. They had no food service gloves on. They were touching their face, touching many different surfaces, even used a fingernail to clean or get stuck food out of their teeth all while making the waffle cones bare handed. Plenty of cross contamination happening. The employee went to the case where the waffle cones are stored and put them in there. They walked away leaving the waffle cone case open as you can see in the picture below. We never get waffle cones and after seeing this we are glad we haven’t. If you go today, or any time soon I wouldn’t touch those waffle cones if I were you. They belong in the trash! We will go back but we wont ever be getting waffle cones there!
