I was intrigued by their menu, but as I approached the cart to order I immediately became unsure about my decision. As a pretty mellow early dinner time order, I wasn’t happy to have to wait 5 minutes to even be greeted. When I was finally approached by the woman running the show, I was immediately put on the defensive as I attempted to understand the broken-English menu and their various “meet” options. The veggie option looked great, but instead of offering me an option to enjoy my “meet” with the delicious veggie medley as well (and yes, I would have been willing to throw down for an upcharge in the name of more ingredients, thanks for the option), I was lectured on the needs of the vegetarian customer. The food looked good, but after this atrocious customer service I decided to cut my losses and head to one of the other great food carts at The Lot instead.

J. Christopher’s – Menu with Prices – 1275 Powers Ferry Rd, Marietta

Alysia, our server, was in training, and I was a challenge to her. I remembered that in the past I was told that I could feel free to ask for substitutions at J Christopher. I ordered the turkey avocado skillet without any turkey, maybe just throw in a few veggies of any kind. My husband suggested â??something like the veggie omelet ingredients.â? When it came, it was SO delicious! I hated to complain that there was no avocado in it. I did mention it to her, but said do not give me avocado as it was already delicious. It was because my husband had suggested just putting in the veggie omelet ingredients. No problem.. Before I knew it, Ryan, Alysiaâ??s trainer, appeared with a small bowl of avocado slices. That made the skillet super delicious!. Really, this veggie skillet ought to be on the menu!. Both Ryan and Alysia made us feel so welcome and well served with their gracious, friendly hospitality. We no longer live close to this Christopher, but we will no doubt want to get back when we can because of these good spirited servers who did everything they could to make us happy and well fed. .

Little Big Burger – Menu with Prices – 7711 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland

This has been my favorite Little Big Burger location since it opened! Unlike other locations, they don’t blast the music so loud you can’t hear yourself think, which I and my ears really appreciate. There’s plenty of space, it’s very clean, and the employees have always been really friendly. I am really disappointed, though, by the recent change to their veggie burger option. I had come to love Little Big Burger as one of the top 5 veggie burgers in Portland, but the new offering is hugely disappointing. It seems to be some sort of flavorless textured soy protein deal, which is the worst kind of vegetarian burger, and it’s way too big for the bun size, making it difficult to eat. This used to be one of my regular burger places, but I don’t know that I’ll be going back now that they don’t have a good vegetarian option.

Ruby Thai Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 4201 Coldwater Rd, Fort Wayne

We were at the mall to grab a quick bite. As we approached, a server was offering us samples of mango chicken. Very tasty. We looked over all the other food court businesses and returned to Ruby Thai. We ordered the mango chicken along with coconut chicken. Both were prepared well, generous portions and quite tasty. I think offering samples does entice customers to give it a try. Glad we did.

Wine Me Down Menu with Prices 11775 Northfall Ln STE 108, Alpharetta

I have been lucky enough to catch the early opening of this place so I have attended on a number of occasions and really one simple reason why – solid cigar collection, good drinks, great people, and great music. They also have a handle on the market in that their prices are reasonable – not something you typically see at wine and cigar bars. The music here is on a different level, not bland or preprogrammed like most folks like me are conditioned to expect at a bar these days. They take requests and they seem to just keep the mood right – something you may not immediately notice, but hey, that is the point. Additionally, the music system is designed to allow you to speak with someone at a normal tone but still feel and hear the music clearly – I want this system everywhere I go! One thing I should also mention is that they have Hookah, which is a solid offering that I have seen many partake. Atmosphere: Simply put, grown and sexy. This is a place where you will meet solid folks who enjoy wine, whiskey, and cigars. Also where you can meet someone and have a great conversation while listening to a variety of music that soothes as well as moves you.

Healthy Bistro – Menu with Prices – 7453, 2590 Newport Blvd B, Costa Mesa

I wanted this to be my new go-to local place for lunch, since I live and work in the neighborhood. Sadly, I was disappointed that this isn’t it. There is no lunch menu where you can just pick out a type of sandwich, have it made, and go. Everything is custom to order. So you just get a list of ingredients, and you have to figure it out on your own. They should at least have one type of sandwich for each protein, and one vegetarian option (like a grilled veggie sandwich) that you can just order off the board. The deli at Irvine Ranch Market is much easier and has simple options to pick from, including a vegetarian sandwich option. I asked about a vegetarian sandwich here, and was just pointed to the bins of veggies, which isn’t really the same thing. They also don’t offer wraps. They offer gluten free bread but I don’t have a gluten allergy, so that isn’t relevant to me, I am trying to keep the carbs down and avoid bread. So not having an option of a wrap instead of bread was disappointing. Place looks clean and staff was friendly, so I’m giving 3 stars and not 1 star, but unless they create an actual menu to make it easier to order, and add wraps as a low-carb option, I won’t be going back. It’s unfortunate because I really wanted to love this place, I could have been a regular 3-4 times per week customer if it was better organized. I’ll remain hopeful that they’ll adjust their business model based on feedback in the meantime and would be happy to give them another chance.

Corazon De Maiz – Menu with Prices – 55 Byward Market Square, Ottawa

I’ve always walked by here, and I have always been intimidated to stop in, until the hubby raved to me about how great the tacos were here. We decided to make a trip out here yesterday for a quick bite. I had a veggie taco and the hubby had a chicken and beef taco. The veggie came with a small side of guac. Everything was bursting with flavor. Guacamole was perfectly seasoned. The hot sauces/salsas are phenomenal. The green ones were milder and went great on the veggie taco. I wish I could bottle it up and bring it home. They should really consider selling those hot sauces in shop, I think they would be a hit! Customer service was amazing. We were greeted with a smile and they explained what went on the tacos. They brought our tacos to the table when it was ready. I could not ask for better customer service. There were two tables to eat at, and one long one (bar style) near the condiments. If you are shy when you eat, you should take it to go, because everyone who was walking by stopped to look at our tacos. Yes, they looked that good! If you are in the area, and love authentic tacos, you have to check this place out. I’ll be back to try the nachos out next.

Payette Brewing Company Menu with Prices 733 S Pioneer St, Boise

In town on a layover, wanted to try some local beer with my bf and popped in here. We were checking out the flight menu at the bar and weren’t sure what to do next to order so we walked nearer to where two bartenders were standing. They were having a conversation, my bf said ‘hey guys whats going on’, very politetly. One looked right at my bf and clearly acknowledged his existence, and turned back to the side to keep talking to his coworker. We just stood there and then he looked back at us with a blank stare and didn’t say A THING. I said ‘is this not where we order?’ And he got us our flights without one once of customer service, even though my bf kept saying thank you and was being kind. We discussed afterwards that was the most awkward conversation and customer service interaction wed ever had. We didn’t feel like we did anything out of the ordinary, just trying to order. I approached the bartender a few minutes later and asked if we did something wrong, and he said he was just in the middle of taking care of other customers and he had seen us and was getting to us next. Well that’s chill bro all you had to say was hey guys what’s up? I’ll be with yall in just a second. Not act like we were the most inconvenient part of your day. We work in your industry and get it. And that was awful customer service bros. Never been treated so poorly on the first interaction before.

Devil Dogs Gourmet Hot Dogs – Menu with Prices – 43810 Butterfield Stage Rd #102, Temecula

I WISH I had discovered this place sooner!!!!!! Where to begin?!?! First of all, the location is great, not too much traffic here, plenty of parking. Loved it. Loved the friendly customer service and to TOP IT ALL OFF, They have VEGAN veggie dogs and Impossible Burgers for me!!!!!! I want to hug the owner, thank you for offering a little something for us vegetarians / plant based Vegans! My kids had the Chicago Dog, the Nathan’s Build Your Own, and a Veggie Dog! 13 Tacos and Taps – Menu with Prices – 10511 Shadowlawn Dr, Raleigh

My favorite thing about this restaurant is the service. I’m vegan so I always check the menu of restaurants before I go. I may have misread the menu because when I read the menu, I couldn’t find anything. My husband was with me and was excited so I was just going to order a basic veggie side salad and let him enjoy his meal. I’m not one to make a scene nor do I expect a restaurant to cater to my diet restrictions. But, my husband asked the waitress if they had anything vegan on the menu and she said but let me ask the chef! The chef personally came to our table and created a vegan dish for me that was absolutely amazing! He went through all the ingredients with me and made sure it was something I would enjoy. He made me the most delicious Brussels sprout tacos. I loved every bite of them! He was so sweet and accommodating. You could definitely tell that he cares about the clients that come into his business. What amazing service! I left super impressed and grateful that he went out of his way to make sure I had a delicious meal To enjoy with my husband. His wife, who I believe is the pastry chef, also came and talked to us.

Bernardo’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 2102 Business Center Dr, Irvine

(Full review disclosure: I ordered from the deli to-go and didn’t actually eat in the place) Actually, I had never heard of this place and only decided to order it because it came up locally near my work. I was looking for something light and vegetarian so I ordered the Veggie burger special. It was a good value, for only around $7 it came with the veggie burger on your choice of bun/bread, side salad or chips and a soft drink. I ordered the burger on sour dough and was surprised when one of the workers called me because they said I didn’t select anything on my burger (just the patty and the bread) I told them I was never given an option to say what I wanted on it, I assumed it came with everything. He was extremely nice to call and check with me because if he didn’t, I would have gotten a plain veggie burger! Overall, the burger was delicious, the side salad? Eh, not so much. The burger was tasty but very hard to eat, as the bread made it fall apart super easily.

12100 Coffee & Communitas Menu with Prices 12100 Old Seward Hwy, Anchorage

On our way from Anchorage to the Kenai area we happened to stop in here for a nice refreshing breakfast and coffee before making the trek. The seating was open, decor was pleasant, and the employees were super nice and helpful! Between 4 of us we ordered a fair medley of variety and no one seemed anything other than pleased with their meal. I had a bacon egg and cheddar sandwich that was flavorful, well ratio of ingredients, and the bacon pieces stayed well on the sandwich while I ravaged it. I’m not one for fancy coffee drinks, but the drip coffee was also very solid. While I live in the lower, if I were in town more often I would definitely eat at his place. Burritos looked great that a few in our group ordered
