Awesome lunch at the airport great bang for your buck! The menu changes monthly with short order option if you don’t like what’s on the menu that day.

Harvest Grains – Menu with Prices – 1308 W Dayton St room 178, Madison

The only place to get a salad at Union South. They also have a pretty extensive selection of sandwiches if that is more your thing. I’ve only ever ordered the salads there, but I’ve definitely been tempted to try some of the sandwiches, in particular the banh mi sandwich! :9 Each salad comes with a Batch Bakehouse roll, which is pretty sweet! Actually, the partnership itself with Batch Bakehouse is pretty freaking awesome. You also have the option of adding chicken to any of the salads for an additional $2. TOTALLY worth it, if you ask me. For $2, you get a full chicken breast sliced over your salad instead of just a couple of strips. Tip: I’ve noticed that you get more bang for your buck if you order ‘for here’ instead of ‘to go’, which probably has something to do with the size of the plate (huge! and without a lid!) versus the size of the take-out container (smaller! with a lid!). So, if you are extra hungry and have some extra time, I’d suggest you ordering your salad (with added chicken) ‘for here’! ?

Rolando’s Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2601 Santa Maria Ave, Laredo

Immediately as you enter Rolandos you get a home vibe from it. It lacks in decor, but I’m not here for the sights. I’m here for their amazing food. The tacos are about the size of a new born child. The plates are massive. You really get a bang for your buck, and the service is phenomenal. Very attentive and curtious. It’s my go to place for an amazing meal during my lunch hour. Definitely recommend it.

O’Brien’s Bistro – Menu with Prices – 4350 Bayou Blvd, Pensacola

The outward appearance of this restaurant does not accuratly reflect whats inside. I thought this was a regular run of the mill place to get a quick bite after a long flight, but I was totally wrong. This is a fine dining establishment in every way shape and form. I was wearing shorts and a tshirt and felt under dressed. I sat outside since it was such a nice day out. My waitress brought out some water and some biscuits and butter. These.biscuits. I dont know What blend of herbs and spices they put into these things, but these biscuits! They are an experience in themselves, make sure to ask for them when you go. Aside from the biscuits, I had a salad which, you know, a salad is a salad. Dont get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with it, but at the end of the day a salad is still a salad. With such a wide array of options across the three menus (brunch, lunch, dinner) there is something for everyone, so stop by and checknit for yourself.

Paddles Up Poké Menu with Prices 13601 W McMillan Rd suite 104, Boise

Paddles Up Poke is definitely on a monthly rotation at our house. It’s one of my top go-to “I’m not cooking tonight” locations. I’d love to say that I’ve tried everything and give it all two thumbs up, but I’m in love with the Bogus Basin Bowl and can’t bring myself to stray from it’s goodness. I frequently get the burrito version for my kids and cut it up like a sushi roll when I get home. I’ve also ordered them the kids bowls and they gobbled those up too. If your kids aren’t into fish, they do have chicken and tofu options too. I agree at first pass it seems a bit pricey, for a family of 4 it is easily a $40+ meal but . . . when I consider the comparison of the price for a sushi roll, I think there is easily more bang for your buck here. They do have a loyalty program and after 10 purchases you earn a free bowl, so there’s that. Additionally, they advertise in the monthly valuepak that comes in the mail for a buy one get one 1/2 off, so before you toss that blue envelope and consider it junk mail pull out their coupon! Additional offerings include single serve portions of local ice cream by the Stil and Good Vibes Kombucha on tap. I have to hold back from a solid 5 stars only because lately I’ve noticed lots of new staff and though they have all been very friendly, they have been hit and miss with quality control on portion sizes and such. I totally understand the struggle of running a business and getting everyone trained, so I’ll just keep a closer eye on the prep of my bowls when I see new faces for awhile. Not a deal breaker in my book. Note: They are currently not open on Sundays, but I heard they may consider offering this in the future.

Red Rooster – Menu with Prices – 3100 N Walker Ave, Oklahoma City

Hey Red Rooster team, great job! I am so crushing on the timeless vibes of this space–it’s so perfect. Love the cocktail + beer program. Great food menu. Love all. the. things. But what really takes this new concept over-the-top for me is your team’s welcoming smiles, great service, and kindness–what a delight to share a meal with you all. I hope to consider this the beginning of a very beautiful friendship. F O O D Monday nights are $10 BURGER + house FRIES + Coors-esque beer ($2 up-charge for better beer options). It’s a great deal. Burger + house fries are pretty tasty. Ask about house made dipping sauces. CHICKEN paillard SANDWICH, lime, honey, cojita, chipotle aioli slaw [$12]. Oooohhh weee!!! This sandwich was delicious. Probably one of my top favs. Hot ‘n crispy (& juicy) chicken. Tons of flavor. n o t e :: This sandwich needs a side, so don’t forget to order one [separately]. I wish the server team would ask you if you wanted a side when ordering. Or, even better, a menu prompt of an up-charge to include fries or side salad. Masa GRIT CAKES, black bean purée, pickled squash, avocado crema [$9]. Delicious! Just don’t be starving, if dinner entree, you may want an appetizer (or dessert ? too. FALAFE, spinach & lemony chickpeas, hummus, tapenade, flatbread [$13]. Great as a shareable for the table or main meal. Great bang for your buck. Another delicious option. I haven’t had a cocktail here I haven’t enjoyed. Tasty and very standard old fashioned. Once they restock the Peruvian pisco, those pisco sours will be hard to beat! (You gotta try a pisco sour if you’ve never had one–they are grape brandy, lime juice, simple syrup & egg whites–so delicious). O V E R A L L The Red Rooster is steeped in its own history-it’s actually my most favorite thing about this little local hangout. The atmosphere is sophisticated for a business lunch, casual enough for Monday night $10 burger night with friends, & sweetly romantic for your next anniversary dinner. The food is delicious, you can get a good bang for your buck or splurge a little, it’s completely up to you. Welcome back to the Paseo, old friend. We’re excited to spend just about any occasion with you. June 2019

Runway Grille & Deli – Menu with Prices – 3183 Winchester Rd, Memphis

I have mixed emotions about Runway Grill. On 1 hand, I love the food. On the other, to get your money’s worth be careful what you order. 1st time here, I got the 3 wings and fries to go. They were excellent. (Better than the Grille on Lamar believe it or not). This time, my colleague ordered the cheeseburger combo $8.25, I asked how much the meat & 2 was – only 1 meat option, hamburger steak. She said, how many hamburger steaks…. since they were small, I said 2. She asked what sides – I thought, you vary the price based on the sides? Got mashed potatoes and greens. What to drink – water. She said $11.46… I guess she didn’t hear me ask how much was it…. so OK, I went with it. But, $11.46 for a meat & 2 at lunch with water – too much. (ps, go to Gary’s on Getwell, get more food on the plate to go, for $7, and, honestly it’s as good or better than Runway). That being said, the hamburger steak tasted great, it was tough, but good flavor. The mashed potatoes were superb. The greens were good, really sweet. But after looking at my bill, any restaurant that charges .50c for tap water has a star come off. ps, my colleague put salt and pepper on his burger as he said although it tasted fresh, it had no flavor. Moral of the story, get the wings to go to get the best bang for your buck here.

Banh Mi Boys – Menu with Prices – 5001 Airline Dr, Metairie

My husband and I visit Banh Mi Boys at least twice a month. This is, hands down, the best banh mi spot ever. DO NOT LET THE LOCATION DETER YOU, IT IS AMAZING! They have a large menu, and everything I’ve had is great. We regularly order the grilled pork spring rolls as an appetizer. Always get the grilled one, it’s way better than the other ones. My other favorite menu item is the bang bang shrimp banh mi. It’s so delicious. Sweet and salty, with huge shrimp. It sounds silly, but I especially love the way they slice their vegetables (cucumber, carrots, and daikon). It’s unique and just has a different, fun texture. The employees are so awesome and friendly. We usually go during their lunch rush. It’s usually one or two people running the register and food out, and they are killing it every time. The spot is kind of small, with very limited seating indoors. We try to aim for days that are nice outside, so it doesn’t feel dreadful sitting on the patio. Even with the big fan out there, if it’s Louisiana hot, it miserable. The parking lot can be a pain sometimes too since they share it with the gas station.

Sakura Japanese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1437 Sam’s Dr, Chesapeake

This place has the lunch buffet. Just make sure you eat what you order or you’ll pay a percentage of what you waste since sushi is made to order. Very sizeable for a sushi place and super clean. Waitstaff is fast and friendly. Sushi was good, but not superb. I’ve had better sweet potato rolls and volcano rolls elsewhere. Still good though. But they have a decent Thai ice tea served in a big mason jar. Overall you do get more bang for your buck here. Our bill was about $53. Nice spot, will come back again especially since my son apparently has a tape worm to feed now. He even ate some of his mom’s sushi too. I told her to finish her sushi or else she has to go back there and wash some dishes or pay extra for wasting. But our teen son is like a garbage disposal now. So I advise you to take your teenage boys with you so they can finish all the sushi no one else can eat.

Waco Regional Airport – Menu with Prices – 7909 Karl May Dr, Waco

What a hidden gem to for the Waco community. Honestly, I think it is a little under utilized by the city and the college community. We went on a college visit to Baylor and flew out of the Waco Regional Airport. Honestly I think the tickets were an extra 50-75 dollars, which for the convenience of not having to drive to DFW and mess with the lines is a steal (it is about an hour 45 minute drive to DFW). Things that would be helpful to know if you are flying out of this airport. If you have the first morning flight (5 am American) there is not going to be anyone there until about 4:30. Not knowing what to expect the teenager and I got there at 4. The security officer did unlock the door but the counter did not open until about 4:30. There is nothing open at that time inside the airport for food and drink options other than a vending machine. The airport was small but clean and efficiently run. The same person who checked us in at the counter -swiped our tickets getting on the plane (teenager found this refreshingly humorous). You take your bag over to a room that TSA has to the side of the counter and TSA takes your bag from you. Very convenient airport to use and if our son ever decided to attend Baylor we would definitely use it as our first option.

Ohana Hawaiian BBQ – Menu with Prices – 459 College Blvd #2, Oceanside

So I ordered thru doordash sat June 1st at 6:30, the chicken was meh! The Short ribs were so salty, and too much soy sauce in the marinade it was impossible to eat, the macaroni had too much mayo, the breaded fish had no flavor, it was just salty, the panko shrimps were bland as well cause they didn’t bother to put any sauce on my order not even for the eggrolls, thank god the musubi was good cause i was starving and i dont have much money to spend on delivery otherwise i would’ve order pizza cause i dont care to save the food for later, the first and last time i order from this place, such a waste of money, such a let down.

Lakewood Ranch Lobster Pound and Fresh Seafood Bistro and Market – Menu with Prices – 8740 E State Rd 70, Bradenton

We were looking for a quick place for lunch and drove by and saw the Lobster Pound. It’s a small place with about 4 tables inside and 4 outside and 2 owner/employees. The service was very good and there is a variety of lunch options to choose from. Most menu items for a full lunch were in the $12 – $15 range. While the lobster roll was $17 for a regular one and $27 for the jumbo. While waiting for our order they brought us free samples of Oyster chowder which my husband said was amazing. He ordered the fish tacos and I had the bang bang shrimp. He said the tacos were one of the best meals he has eve had in a restaurant. The shrimped was excellent – large fresh butterflied pieces. (could have used a little more sauce). They chef came out to make sure we were doing ok and that that the food was to our liking. It was very obvious that he took pride in his cooking as he checked with all customers. This place was a little gem and we will go back for sure!!!!

Rolling Rice – Menu with Prices – 9668 Milliken Ave, Rancho Cucamonga

Had lunch here with a coworker a few days back. Location is pretty tiny, not great for big groups. However, location is clean and well maintained. The location is the type where you order up front and the staff brings you the meal. Food was brought out quickly and correctly. I had Chicken Udon, which was absolutely fantastic, absolutely good bang for the buck. I also got the eggrolls, which tasted very plain and seemed very similar to the stuff you could buy at Trader Joe’s and pan-fry yourself. My coworker bought an assortment of sushi rolls and was greatly disappointed. She thought the crunch rolls were more mushy than crunchy, and that this place did not scratch her itch for sushi at all. I might go back for the Udon or to try the ramen, but maybe avoid the sushi and eggrolls.
