I’ll admit, this was a surprise. I hadn’t heard much about ZPizza but our friends said they liked it. So, we stopped in on our way home from the mountain and it’s AWESOME! I rarely eat pizza because I’m gluten free and many of the crusts just don’t inspire me. However, they offered 2 types of gf crust (one of them is vegan) and I chose the cauliflower parmesan cheese version. And, I don’t eat meat but always love a veggie pizza. What?? They have Beyond Meat vegan sausage? Oh my! Had to give it a try and I think I just had the best gluten free pizza in Bend. My hubs is a free-form eater and loves meat and loves gluten and also considers himself a pizza expert. He admitted that the pizza at ZPizza might be the best he’s had in Bend also! The staff was very friendly and very helpful (I had a bazillion questions about everything). They guided me through the gf veggie options and even made suggestions. Love this place! We’ll definitely be going back. Looking forward to hanging on their patio in the summer, too. It’s the perfect stop after a great day of play in Bend.

Love Food Central – Menu with Prices – 2057 Central Ave, St. Petersburg

I am a meat eater. An omnivore. A lover of bacon (sorry vegans and vegetarians). However, that is kind of a good thing in this case, because I love Love Food Central. It is absolutely a place that anyone plant based can come with meat eater friends and everyone still enjoy a meal. In fact, if you have omnivore friends who think they could never eat plant based, this is a great first place to bring them to prove them wrong (there are others but this isn’t another business’ yelp page). If you’re a meat eater like me, or a vegetarian or vegan who wants to try to get their friends to try a plant based substitution to a meal every now and then (or more often), then come here and order the buffalo tempeh. They do a buffalo tempeh sandwich, but also a tempeh reuben. However, I go with the veggie wrap and add buffalo tempeh. Its true that this wrap is solely a method to deliver veggies and buffalo sauce to your mouth, but oh my god it is good. The wrap is gluten free, the tempeh is fine – again, its just a protein to cover in buffalo sauce – and the veggies are cooked perfectly, but this wrap brings is all together. Honestly, I have never gotten anything else. I think I tried my fiance’s tempeh reuben once, or maybe it was the buffalo tempeh sandwich or maybe she got the tempeh reuben but with buffalo tempeh. Don’t know. I’m sure it was good. Doesn’t matter. The veggie wrap with buffalo tempeh is hands down one of my favorite sandwiches/wraps on central. Oh yeah, they have a case full of delicious vegan baked desserts – I’ve had cookies and I think cupcakes and loved them. They also do a vegan soft serve ice cream – I can’t remember if its cashew or soy or coconut milk or what, but sometimes its good. Depends on the flavor. They will do an ice cream sandwich with it too. Anyway, desserts are fine to great, but its not why I come here. Veggie wrap. Add buffalo tempeh. You will not regret it. Dog friendly outside tables, too. Picnic tables, but my boy Bruce doesn’t care. Doesn’t have to be fancy as long as he can come. He’s a good boy. So again, my vegan friends, or at least, vegans with whom I have an uneasy truce. I like it here. I like coming here and eating this food. You might be on to something.

Blaze Pizza – Menu with Prices – 2348 Citadel Way #101, Melbourne

Blaze Pizza is much like the Chipotle of Pizza. Here you can customize your pizza to your liking. Kudos for having an option for vegans as they offer both vegan cheese & vegan chorizo. There are several signature pizzas w/ popular favorites along w/ calories listed. Probably the most popular choice here is the customizable Build Your Own Pizza. Choose your crust from original, thick crust, or cauliflower crust for gluten-free folks. Several sauces to choose from such as classic red sauce or spicy red sauce. Cheeses including vegan cheese options. etc. I opted for customizable Build Your Own Pizza w/ original crust, spicy red sauce, vegan cheese, vegan chorizo, & unlimited veggies. The toppings here hit the spot as lots of selections for those plant strong folks as the veggie toppings were plentiful, tasty, & nourishing. The pizzas are fast fired in 180 seconds in the oven. Fast, friendly service, & affordable. Found this to be one of the best vegan pizzas I’ve had in a long time for the fresh veggie toppings alone. Felt the crust could have been a bit firmer. The atmosphere pretty similar to dining at a Chipotle yet the vegan pizza hit the spot. I was able to finish the whole pie as was satisfying w/ just the right amount of food. Look forward to subsequent visits here.

Animal Place’s Vegan Republic Menu with Prices 1624 University Ave, Berkeley

Am I seriously missing a review for this place ?!?! They offer all the great vegan options your other stores offer and so much more. There is a “healthy” chain store that recently was bought by an internet giant who will not be named, for years there vegan and gluten free goodies have gone down in quality. I was so upset that I couldn’t find amazing vegan yummies anymore until I came. Frustrated by the vegan selections at other stores? come here! concerned about where your vegan dollars are being spent? come here ! I like that I feel good abut myself after I’ve come here. The serves is always friendly, kind and trusting. I’ve never felt watched or uncomfortable by the staff, wich is big for a woman of color who is getting older and shocked that even my grey hair doesn’t earn me the respect of being trusted in some stores. The staff always has answers to questions or are supper helpful, like when I want to order a case of something through them. My latest find is the amies vegan and gluten free lasagna!!!! yum yum yum ! I could eat this every night. No other store I frequent has it. They often have vegan food pop ups on the weekend, though I wish they had a gluten free pop up ( they often don’t even offer a gf option at these pop ups ) The serves here is awesome and they’re always suprising me with what they ofer. If you’re looking for a more ethical way to spend your vegan and non vegan dollars come here! And try there raw chocolate almonds !!!!! It’s the best. Side note they’re the only place that used to sell locally made temph, I would buy 10 at a time It’s on hold for now but, I’m always bummed by bg chai temph and soy products so, it’s cool that this place is like a unicon finder.

Starting From Scratch Café – Menu with Prices – 400 Aviation Blvd #300, Santa Rosa

I work in the business park and use this cafe for catering frequently (so nice that they deliver for meetings). I’ve also been known to frequent it on a midday walk around the business park. Their iced coffee is an excellent and refreshing midday pick-me-up, and they have numerous gluten free and vegan options, which are much appreciated–and I’m not talking freezer burned Udi’s here–they make their gluten free bread FROM SCRATCH, and their (also homemade) gluten free AND vegan veggie burgers are fantastic, as is the mushroom sandwich (hold the cheese, caramelize the onions). The prices are reflective of the fact that the goods are both made in-house and largely sourced from local producers and farmers. So nice to have a delicious and healthful option so close to my office (and they have NEVER been annoyed with me asking for modifications to accommodate my gluten and dairy allergies and flexitarianism). Plus when you go here, you are supporting a locally-owned business, and 9.9/10 times you’ll probably have one of the owners take your order. Biggest complaint is that their gf baked goods (minus the killer bread, which I’ve never experienced being sold out) are usually sold out by lunchtime, but goes without saying. 10/10 would recommend.

Lucos Pizza – Menu with Prices – 2925 W Republic Rd #100, Springfield

So far I can only speak to the vegan pizza so far, but wanted to share my experience. I went in with high hopes based on other reviews. I ordered the vegan supremo pizza. The hand tossed crust was very good, soft and not too thick. The sauce didn’t have much of a flavor. The vegan cheese that has been highly praised in other reviews was practically nonexistent. The vegan pepperoni were also sadly without much flavor. The veggies are the star. Lots of big, fresh veggie pieces that are not overcooked. The vegan ranch is delicious, with a nice garlic hint to it. Overall the pizza was good, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. I would definitely try a pizza with real cheese and see how that measures up.

Freestyle Poké – Menu with Prices – 7108 W 135th St, Overland Park

Got to try this place today, and I’ll say that so far, it’s my favorite Poké place! LOTS of fun toppings so that each bite has a variety of tastes and textures that I haven’t had at other KC places (spicy cashews! Wasabi coconut chips! Avo-coco sauce!). I also like that you can choose to have cauliflower rice or Zoodles as your base. The only vegan protein option is tofu, in the future I’d love to have the option of black beans or lentils. (I’m not vegan, but always on the lookout for places that have great options like gluten/dairy free or vegan). We were starving, so no photos…sorry! The price is not cheap, but I’m an eater and I was satisfied with the small bowl. Id say it was the equivalent to about 2 good sushi rolls, so in the grand scheme, about equal to sushi pricing.

MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company – Menu with Prices – 3401 Dale Rd, Modesto

If I could leave zero stars I would. I have a severe gluten allergy and celiac disease. This restaurant offers “gluten free” items but contaminate your food at every possible chance. I came in since it says they have GLUTEN FREE options. They have signs like normal restaurants stating there is a chance for cross contamination. Which is normal. But they used the same gloves, same pizza trays, and cooked it on a flour DRENCHED stone oven. When I asked about it they laughed as if it was a joke, did not offer my $20 back and I sat starving as the rest of my group ate while I watched. If you are going to offer gluten free, maybe actually offer gluten free. Advertising saying “gluten free crust” but drenching it in gluten doesn’t do any good. 7/6/2019 @6:20pm. And I won’t be coming back. UPDATE: the owner Nick has replied and yes we did get a refund and an apology which I appreciated. My main concern for others is that an allergy is an allergy. Once that gluten free pizza touches the stone with flour on it, it is no longer gluten free. I understand many people don’t know that, but that is why people like me end up extremely sick. Maybe put a note on the door that instead of saying “possibility of cross contamination” it should say “our gluten free products are no longer gluten free once cooked in our stone oven” It is just for safety. I understand you try your best, but “your best” can get someone hospitalized. Just as if someone was allergic to shellfish and you cook their steak on a grill that just had shellfish on it…..well now they will be in the hospital. you are trying your best, but your best isn’t even close for someone with an allergy. So in other words, if you have an allergy, don’t eat here, if you are using gluten free as a diet or to lose weight, go for it.

Guncles Gluten Free – Menu with Prices – 1252 Government St, Mobile

Gotta’ give it up to the Guncles! If you’d have told me a while ago that I’d be chasing down ANYTHING that’s gluten free, I’d have laughed in your face! Thankfully, I don’t have Celiac Disease, or any allergy/sensitivity to gluten. But here I am, a fan and Guncles cheerleader! Their cakes are delish and don’t taste like cardboard! Honestly, I’d imagined in my head how they’d taste. I’ve tried those “substitute the sugar for applesauce desserts” and, yes, I can tell and I LOATHE them. (I digress.) I think I bought the last of their raspberry-lemon and chocolate cakes at a Market at the Pillars event (and almost had to go toe-to-toe with another buyer for it). I enjoyed the lemon raspberry, and took the chocolate cake home for the hubs to try. He’s our resident chocolate lover and approved also. I even withheld the gluten free info for a fair assessment. Their cakes are divine and free of gluten! Now, if you could rid them of the calories, you’d change the world!

Pancho’s Vegan Tacos Anthem – Menu with Prices – 2540 Anthem Village Dr Suite 120, Henderson

Delicious is not what comes to mind first when thinking about vegan food. This place is the exception. My husband and I stopped by during their grand opening weekend and we were not disappointed. Staff was very attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in. The menu itself was simple and straightforward, serving typical Mexican dishes, vegan style. The “meat” that they offer was well seasoned and flavorful. We wanted to sample a few of their meats so we ordered street tacos, carne asada (wheat), al pastor (wheat), and carnitas (jackfruit). Out of all of the meats, our favorite was the al pastor, you can’t go wrong with an al pastor taco here, served with all of the normal fixings. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think you were having pork. We also decided to try out the tamales that they have on the menu, they did not disappoint. I ordered a jalapeño and cheese tamale, who knew that a tamale with vegan cheese could taste so delectable. After scarfing down your food, you can wash it all down with a refreshing margarita or vegan michelada prepared with V8 versus the traditional Clamato. For desert, they offer a few vegan and gluten free options. Although, I would ask how they prepare the gluten free items, I am unsure. Overall, we were pleasantly satisfied with our food.

Number 12 Cider – Menu with Prices – 614 N 5th St, Minneapolis

This was my second visit here and I must say I came out liking the ciders a lot more than the first. I took my friend who is completely gluten free so it was the perfect place for us to meet up. We both enjoyed the ciders and then got a pizza from the truck outside. I had heard amazing things about this pizza from others and not only was it gluten free which I was hesitant on but it was GREAT. We got the margarita pizza and it was gluten free, it came out quick, fresh, warm, and very tasteful. The cider I had (can’t remember the name) was a lot better tasting than my first visit. I’m not a huge cider person (reasoning for the 4 stars and not 5) but this is a great stop to add on your list when hopping around the north loop. Would be a great first spot since they have a few drinks that are similar to a mimosa as well! Happy to see this place doing well – it is so adorable inside, makes me want to hang out there all day!

Jersey Mike’s Subs – Menu with Prices – 15901 Antioch Rd, Overland Park

I have been here several times since they opened, mostly because I have one kid that is obsessed with it. He has nothing on his sandwich except ham, provolone, and pickles, but I’m pretty sure he could eat it daily. So there must be something about it that he really digs. I will say, the service is really quick, staff is always very friendly, and they have a punchcard to reward me for my loyalty, which is always a huge plus. And, they offer gluten-free bread, which is a huge bonus. They also carefully prepare gluten-free items in a separate area, which for some people is very important. They do charge extra for the gluten-free bread, which if you get the half sub, will get you about a $9 or $10 sandwich, which seems a little pricey to me but I guess if you’re gluten-free, you’re used to that anyway. If you’re not gluten-free, don’t miss the chocolate chip cookies. They are pretty spectacular.

Harmony Bakery Menu with Prices 3446 Chestnut Ave, Baltimore

Let’s start out by saying that I love meat and do not have any food intolerance or dietary restrictions that force me to eat gluten free. I just got back from spending a year in Afghanistan, and just found out about my friend’s severe gluten allergy, which breathing issues. She’s basically been trapped at home to eat because most restaurants that serve GF foods don’t understand Cross contamination. She’s terrified at the thought of eating out and winding up in the ER. So I brought my friend here, and as advertised 100% gluten free!!! I’m eating gluten free as well when with her because cross contamination with even a hug is problematic. We split a pizza, spinach tart, and quinoa sweet potato salad. The pizza was awesome, and the crust was crunchy crispy with a very thick delicious tomato sauce. The spinach tart was amazing, cheesey cashew cheese. I already love quinoa, and this salad with it’s citrus dressing was delish!!! For dessert we split a slice of carrot cake and slice of tea cake with lemon frosting, both tasted great. For me the texture was off, but my friend who hasn’t had cake in almost 2 years was overwhelmed with joy!!! I did love the sample chocolate chip cookie they brought over for us to try…OMG so delightful!!! I’m hyped and can’t wait to bring my wife here, but more importantly my friend’s world has expanded. She even bought 2 pizzas to go and a bunch of different deserts to try. I love meat and I was not disappointed that I couldn’t get any here. In fact I will be back, the food was that delicious. Kudos on the pizza crust, great texture and crispiness.
